Sleep well, oh Admin and Spencer.
Good morning everyone. What a great day yesterday. I am pleasantly exhausted.
No shopping for us today. The two things that I would like from a Black Friday sale are not on sale. I am not at the crest of the electronic wave.
We will be doing Small Business Saturday. Zoë and I will be getting meat from a local farm and butcher.
WAIT . pondering . . isn’t there a boutique opening soon? I would buy things today from a small internet boutique.

Good morning, Melanie. Happy Day After. We will be doing our shopping at Echo Hill, a local country store that is a Mennonite mix of bulk dry goods and health food. That is, if Mom ever gers out of her pj’s.
Also, we are thinking about visiting Last Chance Ranch to meet Frodo dinally, but Mom is kind of afraid to do that alone, as that is also where “Gunner” is. He is that 7-month old husky puppy that was shot and had to have a leg amputated. Mom knows there is no room here for #5 . Still…

Barb ran out early this morning for a quick Black Friday shopping. Menards, a local big box store, had a 6 hour sale, starting at 5:00 am. They had 5 quart enameled cast iron dutch ovens for $29.00, usually priced at $60.00. Le Creuset ones are about $200. Bought one for Jessica for Christmas. Of course she picked up some doggie treats and a new toy for me, so it was a good trip.
Gus-Gus goes home this afternoon. I will miss him, although when he tried to play with my new toy I let hime know that he is not allowed to touch!

Hi everyone. Mama is not one for getting “mall-ed” to death today either.
Rose – we would have NO trouble saying good bye to a couple of Wrotten Kats we happen to know. We would cheerfully wave farewell as the mail trick picked up a hissing, spitting box covered in packing tape and labeled for Alaska.
Right nowwe are just waiting for Callie to come home from her walk with Gramp so we can have our BONES BONES BONES out on the back deck!!!
Woo hooo.
And Mama is tapping her fingers, just waiting for the opening of the boutique!

Well the cranes have reached their winter home in Florida. This is officially the fastest migration ever and they said it is the first one where almost all of the cranes flew every leg of the migration. Often they have to truck cranes between stops and so they don’t learn the entire route, but this year only one crane had to be trucked and only once.
Now we wait until early February and see when they start back. I remember the first year wondering if they would. It was like a miracle. It will be again this coming spring…

We just went with Mom on a Black Friday trail ride. O.K., mostly we just watched her ride Annie in the ring, then accompanied them around the barn to where we could see the wrotten hunters. We advised Mom to wander no further. Just after she dismounted, we heard 2 loud shots {shudder}.
She is hoping there is time for an Echo Hill run prior to Boutique opening, but it’s going to be close.

Right now, I have AJ holding a hairdryer to the wall in hopes that the paint will dry. For a short time last night, we watched it dry, but that soon lost it’s appeal. With his other hand, I have him putting in lightbulbs to showcase the wonderful items that have been donated. I hope it is all ready in the next few minutes!

B&M: I did receive your order via SDD. I try to respond to those orders straight away so you know I’ve received them. The shelves are looking less full than a couple of hours ago. Bells Starr, my shop assistant is no where in sight. I don’t think she cared for or misunderstood her duties. Rio is a great greeter. Each patron has been welcomed with an warm Yeep! Rio, The yucca were (was?) not yucky. It had no taste at all as far as my taster was concerned. Of course my taster is broken so I am not a reliable source of taste information. No one complained and E, wife of the Turtleman, LOVED them (it?)
Cover them up with dressing and gravy and they taste just the same as potatoes to me.
E says the bare naked root looks dangerous. The Turtleman served it in a pie plate like a crustless quiche.

The Prof and I just finished some yummy leftovers…turkey, sausage stuffing, asparagus with Hollandaise sauce, and julienne almonds, warm rolls, and jellied cranberry sauce. We watched a classic film before dinner “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner?” Now I am waiting a bit before I finish up my yummy dessert, creme anglaise .

Yes, I have my own credit card. It is made of chocolate and I keep it in my sparkly, pink backpack. My Two-Legged told me earlier today my money was no good at the boutique and to get to work. I only paid attention to the first half of her scentence and ignored the second half. The Howlers came by and Kat and I went shopping. I was also told by shopkeepers that my money was no good there either. Is chocolate not the universally recognized currency?

This dog show isn’t nearly as much fun as Westminster – they only show the walks of the dogs that eventually are going to make the cut. We love Westminster when you see each and every dog and the announcer tells you something about the breed. Even the Pugs
