“So much to do!” Spence says.
“We’re completely at sixes and sevens,” says Admin.
Just another reason, right there, to stop at two. Two is enough, when it comes to numbers, in case I haven’t mentioned that already.
Welcome Annie.
And here’s a funny kids picture book that closely parallels what Audrey and Pearl are going through now: Say Hello To Zorro.

Good morning all.
Can’t believe we’re first. We are never first!
8:17 am on March 26th, 2012
Wonder why there is so much for Spence and Admin to do. Well….plunder on!
Good morning T&G and all.
8:34 am on March 26th, 2012
Good Morning. Feel a bit better today. Get to do errands. Turns out that some of this stuff I’m going through is withdrawal symptoms from the meds that made my BP go high. (shaking head and rolling eyes)
I’ll be back later.
T&G, have your Mum check her SDD.
B.Stover: you said something that made me smile the other day. Can’t remember what it was, but thanks!
8:58 am on March 26th, 2012
Good morning everyone. Not such a nice day here, cold, rainy and highs in the upper 40s. Tomorrow will be 20 degrees warmer again.
Potatoes are up in this garden this morning. Everything else seems to be fine too.
Think we are going to lay low and watch Hugo this morning, right after chores are completed. The movie received a lot of awards, so we are looking forward to seeing it. Will report back later.
8:59 am on March 26th, 2012
Greetings All!
T&G: You are always first with me.
B: What could Spence and Admin be up to?
Melanie: So glad you are feeling better!
9:01 am on March 26th, 2012
Welcomie, Annie. You are a cutie!
B&M: Let’s compare notes on HUGO.
9:04 am on March 26th, 2012
A robin in my garden is very cold. His feathers are all fluffed up. It’s 35 and we have a possible freeze warning for tonight.
Melanie: You’re welcome….for whatever it was!
9:06 am on March 26th, 2012
Busy!…Have you guys lost your minds?…sniff!…”What could Spence and Admin be up to?”…snort!…”Why there is so much for Spence and Admin to do?”…grunt!…Think! What do those guys do for a living??…grump!…They tip-tap-tippy-tap write. Thats what they do!…wheeze!…So maybe, just maybe he is busy trying to meet some deadline on a book…huffle!gruffle!
9:07 am on March 26th, 2012
I really enjoyed Hugo.
Rose: I’d love to know what Spence and Admin are up to.
9:08 am on March 26th, 2012
Stover!… My friend says she cannot thank you enough for that Banana Bread recipe….snort!… This weekend she made it with chopped Almonds and a small amount of miniature chocolate chips….delish!…It goes very well with her morning cawfee at the busy-busy-busy place…grunt!
9:09 am on March 26th, 2012
Yikes! Insomnia last night and by the time I realized that I was going to get no sleep, it was too late to take a sleeping pill. I stayed in bed resting and perhaps got an hour’s sleep. Any advice on how to get through a long day (with teenagers?) Double Yikes! I’ve already taken a shower and washed my hair. I fear I will be bumping into walls and forgetting names today, maybe even my own name.
Ok B. Stover, I am too tired to look it up. What does ‘sixes and sevens’ mean?
9:09 am on March 26th, 2012
Rio: But why are they completely at sixes and sevens?
9:11 am on March 26th, 2012
CHarris: Have the students work in groups answering specific questions that you assign.
9:12 am on March 26th, 2012
CHarris: (Forgot)–Then have them report their findings to the rest of the class.
9:16 am on March 26th, 2012
CHarris: It means to be in a state of total confusion. It’s an expression of the Brits and may be derived from a game called Hazard played with dice.
9:26 am on March 26th, 2012
We didn’t understand the 6s and 7s either.
Rose, will report back, movie is about to start. Just saw preview for Footloose, and we are adding it to our queue.
9:27 am on March 26th, 2012
Stover!… Maybe he got behind in his writing schedule because he was messing around down in Disney Land for so long…grunt!…Then there were those Librarians – And he went somewhere else that I can’t think of right now…snort!…Too much extracurricular activity and not enough tip-tapping if you ask me…sniff!
9:32 am on March 26th, 2012
Good morning, all!
Mom is working from home today. She needs to stay close to the lav.
B, thanks for explaining 6s and 7s because we sure didn’t know what that was. Like Chet said, we only know 1s and 2s.
It is very very windy here today.
9:34 am on March 26th, 2012
Book!…heh!snort!heh!
9:45 am on March 26th, 2012
I’m looking up recipes in our Dishlicker’s Cookbook. I love that book – it’s one of my favorite cookbooks.
Liz did us proud! Yea Liz!
Is the book still for sale? If it isn’t, it should be. It would be a constant money-raiser for Snowhook.
9:47 am on March 26th, 2012
Oh dear, Zorro (Pearl) looks like a Pug.
9:52 am on March 26th, 2012
Zorro!…Maybe the Pug was there first and the other guy is Zorro…heh!
10:01 am on March 26th, 2012
Rio: I looked up the book on Amazon and started laughing. There is a second book coming out…can’t remember when.
Chaucer used the term “set upon six and seven” and it meant gambling everything on one throw of the dice. It’s apparently a very old expression. I can’t remember where Chaucer used it and haven’t been able to find it. Grump.
10:21 am on March 26th, 2012
Rio: I’m glad your friend likes the banana nut bread. I made it the other day but didn’t have any chocolate chips. I want to make it that way–it sounds delish.
10:57 am on March 26th, 2012
Hey, y’all! Add Mom to the list of sickies on the blog. She just dragged herself off the couch to turn the computer on for me — guess she was tired of making me get off of her! She’s at the stage where she gets cold, so she puts on her robe and the blanket. She didn’t mind all three of us — me, Possum and Bubbie — laying on her then, but then she gets real hot and sweaty, and has to kick all of us off so she can take off her robe and the blanket. I wish she would make up her mind!!!
10:59 am on March 26th, 2012
Gloomy Day Here,
But, Hey,
Good Morning Anyway.
Pssst. What do all youse think of the new cover?
10:59 am on March 26th, 2012
By the way, Zorro is the pug.
11:02 am on March 26th, 2012
Wow!…Youse guys! Look at this!…snort!snort!
11:02 am on March 26th, 2012
I like the new cover. (Well spotted Bear!)
11:03 am on March 26th, 2012
Cover!…Its back to how it should be…snort!…Never liked the #5 cover…grunt!
11:11 am on March 26th, 2012
Zorro!… Is the Pug? ..heh!…That makes it even better!…chorkel!
11:29 am on March 26th, 2012
Mollypop’s Mom is correct. The Dishlicker cookbook would be a good money-raiser for Snowhook. The problem is finding a way to print the pfd. The hardcover copies I got from Blogspot were $50 each which is way too much. Was it Staff who got the spiral-bound copy? I think that was a once-only offer by the printer. Does anyone know a printer?
11:47 am on March 26th, 2012
Bear: I like the new cover. It reminds me a bit of TFAT. We do not see Chet’s white ear. (whispering) I miss Suzie, though.
I wonder if Spence will follow the Clint Eastwood thing, and the next book Will be “For a Few Collars More.”
11:47 am on March 26th, 2012
Staff!…I thought she printed her own copy…sniff!..I know Wookies Maw had some printed way back last year sometime….grunt!..Its kind of a blurr because I was organizing our first ever Auction around that time…heh!
11:49 am on March 26th, 2012
Gasp!…Rose, you are right! There is no White Ear on Chet…grunt!…I hope they get that fixed before Pub-date…sniff!
11:55 am on March 26th, 2012
The new cover is great! I’m glad they were smart enough to realize they weren’t committed forever to the Border Collie. Chet looks like Chet now.
CHarris: Advice on how to deal with teenagers through a long day…RUN
11:59 am on March 26th, 2012
Yark! I missed the no white ear on Chet.
I don’t miss Suzie.
12:00 pm on March 26th, 2012
Kirby, tell your mom we hope she feels better soon. It sounds like she is in the first stages of what our mom went thru these past 4 days.
We love love love the new cover. Are youse sure there is no white ear? Seems we just may not be able to tell because C&B are in the shadows there.
12:04 pm on March 26th, 2012
SiberH!…Your advice should be, “Run, Dig, Hide!”…heh!heh!
12:18 pm on March 26th, 2012
We like the cover. Chet is NOT a Border Collie! No way!
The place we had some copies run was http://www.mimeo.com. They had, and probably still have, a half price special for first time purchases. We did not realize till after we placed the order that we paid way more, because we did not request a longer shipping time. Their prices were very reasonalble. I think you can do spiral bound copies for $18-$20. Our cost was in the low $30s, due to the wrong shipping choice. You do it all on line, using your pdf.
Rose, We loved Hugo. Of course watching at home, could not view it in 3-D, which would have been spectatular. Martin Scorsese did an amazing job, the cinematography and visual effects were outstanding, as well as the CGI’s of the city and the train station. Loved the costuming too.
Had no idea that there was so much about the birth of cinema and the preservation of old film, but that is more what the 2nd half of the movie was about. I think film preservation is a special passion of Scorsese. Thumbs up on the movie.
12:18 pm on March 26th, 2012
We love the new cover also!
Sigh. September is a long ways away.
12:25 pm on March 26th, 2012
Chet’s ear may be white only in the front. It was only the last–Dog Who–cover that showed him with a white ear. That is not my favorite cover. I absolutely don’t miss Suzie.
12:30 pm on March 26th, 2012
Thanks for that link Barb. The problem is, we need a publisher I think.
12:48 pm on March 26th, 2012
Gaah! Why did I never learn to drink coffeeeee???? So far, I am ok but when the busyness wears off, I’ll be in trouble. At least it is daylight until almost 9 pm so I will be driving home in the daylight.
Siber-H: no running today or hiding.
Yes, I think they often get Chet’s ear wrong on covers. I remember complaining about the first book’s cover at length on Amazon ages ago.
12:56 pm on March 26th, 2012
I was reading my cookbook the way I always do – on my computer in the .pdf form. I forgot about the printing. I did get one that Wookie’s Mom did for us and gave that to Sam’s Mom as a gift.
Couldn’t we sell just the .pdf version? We could do it the way Kindle does – show a couple of sample pages. Then when someone buys it, it is emailed to them.
1:14 pm on March 26th, 2012
MollysMom!…Yes!…(except how do we show a couple of pages?)…grunt!
1:18 pm on March 26th, 2012
I found it with the help of the Oxford English Dictionary: Chaucer’s Troilus and Criseyde, Book IV, line 622.
(This is in Middle English but if you read it out loud it sounds like Modern English. It’s another story about star-crossed lovers during the Trojan War):
“Have mercy on thiself for any awe.
Lat nat this wrecched wo thyn herte gnawe,
But manly sette the world on six and sevene;
And if thow dye a martyr, go to hevene!”
The note says that the phrase means to “bet the world on a throw of the dice.”
I feel much better.
1:19 pm on March 26th, 2012
Love the new cover! Back in form. Chets white ear doesn’t show up on any of the covers in this format. It did on a preliminary cover but not the final release. We don’t consider the last one worth mentioning .
1:30 pm on March 26th, 2012
Did any of youse read The Hunger Games? Pop did; Mom did not. But we just read an article where these horrible so-called fans of the book are angry about the casting because dark-skinned girls and boys were played by…well, dark-skinned girls and boys. Wow.
1:54 pm on March 26th, 2012
Rio – We would show the sample cookbook pages the same way we show the other items that are for sale. Melanie or Tyb’s Dad could provide them. Maybe put up a pic of the cover and then two or three random pages. They would all be showing on the same page unlike Kindle’s where you can actually page through.
1:55 pm on March 26th, 2012
A friend of mine read Hunger Games and really like it. I don’t want to read it nor do I want to see the movie. (I started reading it but couldn’t give it my willing suspension of disbelief.) Life can be gruesome enough. Should I read it Howlers? It’s on my Kindle.
1:55 pm on March 26th, 2012
Casting!…Whoa!…heh!…What, did they want Johnny Depp to play the dark-skinned girls and boys instead?…chorkel!
1:58 pm on March 26th, 2012
It seems to me that it would be so much better to have the cookbook published.
1:58 pm on March 26th, 2012
MollysMom!…Just don’t show the page with the Great Grandmas Case Noodle…snort!…Or nobody will buy the book…heh!
Hunger!… I’m with Stover. The whole concept of the book makes me sick to my stomach instead of hungry….grunt! …We here will probably not see the movie or read the book…sniff! …Too many others around to read.
2:02 pm on March 26th, 2012
We love the new cover too! That’s what a Chet and Bernie book should look like.
Auntie Melanie just left. She was in the area for errands so she and Mama got to lunch and laughs together. Then she came here to do some top secretission stuff.
They wouldn’t even let US in the room. Is that fair?
2:06 pm on March 26th, 2012
We have to say, the concept of Hunger Games is off-putting to us too. Didn’t Arnold schwartzenegger have a movie based on that kind of concept- a lottery to see who would have to participate in a televised “game” to the death?
2:13 pm on March 26th, 2012
Bananas!…Stover, regarding the Chocolate Chips…sniff!…She says she used the Mini ones this time and liked it even more with them…heh!…The chopped almonds were delish too…wuffle!
2:19 pm on March 26th, 2012
Tupper!…heh!…Did you see my Johnny Depp comment?…snort!
2:30 pm on March 26th, 2012
B: TFAT’s cover showed Chet’s white ear, and that is how is he described. I like Chet’s white ear.
Rio: I agree with you….the ear thing must be fixed!
2:34 pm on March 26th, 2012
Enough with Johnny Depp! UGH. I saw The Dark Shadows trailer over the weekend, and he looks completely ridiculous as Barnabas.
And if that weren’t enough, I saw a picture of him as Tonto in EW magazine. SPLORT!!!
2:50 pm on March 26th, 2012
I’m laughing, Rose. That picture of him was splorted on the front page of our newspaper not too long ago complete with the dead crow on his head, and he was painted up like for a horror movie instead of playing the part of a Native American.
Rose, are you and the Prof. going to see the new Dark Shadows? I thought if you are, you can report back to us.
2:58 pm on March 26th, 2012
Rio – yup, you made us laugh. Melanie was talking about a new movie about the life of Mohamed Ali – and we all said at the same time – “Starring Johnny Depp!”
Siber – we tried to find a picture online last night of said Tonto and the Dead Crow Hat. The only one we could locate came from a web site that triggered our anti-virus software with a big NO NO NO – DONT OPEN THIS WEBSITE!!!
Maybe our anti-virus has just got good taste.
3:04 pm on March 26th, 2012
We are howling here about all the Johnny Depp comments! Too funny. And isn’t it wild that we here on the blog all feel the same way about this guy that everyone else we know seems to love?
As for Hunger Games, Mom feels the same way about it…sounds repulsive. But our 4 most favorite little girls are wild about the books, and got Pop to read them and he loved them. Not sure if we will watch the movie or not, but if we do, it will be after it comes to DVD (like we ever rent those anymore).
3:04 pm on March 26th, 2012
Rose: You’re making me laugh. Let’s see…what was I going to say? Oh…My cover of TFAT does not show Chet with a white ear. Were there different covers?
3:10 pm on March 26th, 2012
T&G: See below
SiberH: I think the Tonto make-up is more appropriate for Barnabus Collins. After seeing the trailer, the Prof and I looked at each, pinched our noses, and said “stinker.” I realize that the soap was campy, but the trailer looked as if it should have been for The Addams Family instead.
B: The blog shows the TFAT cover that I have. Cool if you have a different one. Might be worth beaucoup bucks!
http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20576934,00.html
3:20 pm on March 26th, 2012
My TFAT cover does not have a white ear (and it is autographed).
But I see on Chet’s Facebookie page, it shows a white ear. Whats up with that?

3:24 pm on March 26th, 2012
Buddy: What is up with that? I will have to check my copy at home. I could have sworn my copy shows Chet with a white ear, but what the heck to I know?
3:38 pm on March 26th, 2012
My copy of TFAT does not have a white ear.
3:39 pm on March 26th, 2012
GAAAAK!!
We resent the comment that that Depp creature’s picture was splorted all over the newspaper.
We have never, in all our lives, splorted up something that looked that bad and that stupid all at the same time!
What a weiner!
3:40 pm on March 26th, 2012
Hi, I’m Johnny. Fly me.
3:43 pm on March 26th, 2012
Well now, you see what the world is coming to?
We agree with Basil and Sage. What a weiner. And we don’t mean hot dog!
4:06 pm on March 26th, 2012
That cover of TFAT with Chet’s white ear was shown somewhere….Amazon? Does anyone remember? But my cover does not have the white ear.
4:09 pm on March 26th, 2012
Depped!…We’ve been Depped!…snort!
4:11 pm on March 26th, 2012
Johnny Depp’s company was a producer of Hugo, just saw that today.
We hate to admit it but we really don’t dislike him, just think there are some parts he should stay away from. He made a great pirate, but should not play Tonto.
Rose, did we miss it, or did you not comment on Hugo?
4:18 pm on March 26th, 2012
Rio – when you go to the theater to see one of his movies, you get “Depp-Charged”
tee hee
4:27 pm on March 26th, 2012
Roles we do not want to see Johnny Depp take on:
Heathcliff of Wuthering Heights
Rhett Butler of Gone With the Wind
Beaver as in Leave it to…
Ebenezer Scrooge in A Christmas Carol
Maria in The Sound of Music
anyone else got any?
4:32 pm on March 26th, 2012
Me!…I hope he never plays Me, Rio…snort!
4:34 pm on March 26th, 2012
I think Johnny Depp is a fine actor. Didn’t we have this conversation before?
I forgot about the cover of TFAT below. That is not what mine looks like.
4:38 pm on March 26th, 2012
Butch Cassidy OR The Sundance Kid
4:41 pm on March 26th, 2012
If you go to Amazon.com the cover to TFAT is the one I have.
4:48 pm on March 26th, 2012
WOOF! I’m relieved to see two black ears on Chet on this cover. Border Collies do NOT weigh 100 lbs. No way! It also allows for my secret hope that Chet is part Belgian Shepherd (the black kind: Groenendael) or maybe a black GSD. I have nothing against BCs, mind you, but they just don’t fit the description in the second book.
Speaking of BCs, they are our (Belgian Shepherds) biggest competitors in dog agility. We love it when we sometimes come first in their height division 🙂
5:10 pm on March 26th, 2012
That last book cover was dumb! Golly. Chet is not a pure breed and I see some German Shepard.
5:12 pm on March 26th, 2012
Terri – Belgian Shepherd does sound right – big, strong dog, smart, playful and capable of grabbing a perp’s pant leg.
5:23 pm on March 26th, 2012
T&G: Never should Johnny Depp play Rick if Casablanca (dog, forbid) ever was remade!
B&M: The Prof and I saw Hugo at the cinema in 3D. Yes, it did look fantastic, but I think it was dreadfully marketed. It was advertised as a children’s film, but it really is an adult film. It really is two pictures in one. I do respect MS involvement with film history and preservation, but would kids really understand the GM thing?
5:31 pm on March 26th, 2012
Johnny should never, ever play Santa Claus!!!
I’ll be a kitty’s uncle. My cover doesn’t have a white ear either! I want one with a white ear!! Waaahh!
5:35 pm on March 26th, 2012
B&M: With all my pontificating, I forgot to say, the Prof liked the film much more than I did.
5:53 pm on March 26th, 2012
Rose: What is the “GM thing?”
6:08 pm on March 26th, 2012
Hey ! I’ve just discovered that the Friends of Chet page shows pics and info about Chet’s friends! How’s that for making sense 😉
6:12 pm on March 26th, 2012
P.S. How do I put my picture in the teeny tiny place (32 x 32 pixels) where you guys have your pics (when you write a post)?
6:22 pm on March 26th, 2012
Rio or Mollypop’s Mom: Can you help out Terri regarding putting her picture on the blog. I’ve forgotten how.
6:35 pm on March 26th, 2012
We are not Johnny Depp fans. Not in the least.
But mom really liked the Hunger Games book, and is going to see the movie just as soon as the crowds die down.
6:36 pm on March 26th, 2012
He was the old guy in the movie who had basically started the original film industry. It was something like George Melies, but don’t think that is correct spelling.
You are correct, I thought it was a children’s movie, and it definitely is not. Much too long and too much adult content for children to be interested. Older children would probably like the first half of the movie. And you are right, it is like two separate stories. I still liked it very much.
Johnny Depp should never play Forrest Gump. Or Muhammad Ali.
6:48 pm on March 26th, 2012
I’m back for a moment or so. This coming off a medication is not fun.
Did have a good time with T&G and their Mum. Have to say that the Royals weren’t allowed in, but those Herbs? They can walk through walls.
I was looking for covers (very good everyone) and found one we hadn’t seen before. It’s below. It’s from “Simon & Schuster” U.K.

6:53 pm on March 26th, 2012
Next picture is from OTAS & FOTAS’s garden. I know that I should KNOW what this is, but can’t think.
I don’t remember how to do the avatars. Hope someone does. I remember it was a website.
Zoe told me to say something but I don’t remember what it was. I hate this.
6:58 pm on March 26th, 2012
avatars are done at

Melanie: That looks like Italian parsley.
7:21 pm on March 26th, 2012
The new book cover….ah, the comfort of the familiar.
Melanie: Always interesting covers on the foreign versions of the books.
The cookbook is for sale at Snowhook’s MMS in pdf format. Last year Mom printed her own copy on the printer at home, then put the pages in protective sleeves in a 3 ring binder. It turned out great and recipes can be added as you choose to do so.
The down side to doing this would be the price of the ink.
We also bought the ones B&M are talking about and the version Wookie’s dad ordered to give as gifts.
7:22 pm on March 26th, 2012
I was going to say the same thing, it looks a lot like the parsley we had last year, but it usually does not winter over in these northern zones. Ours did once.
7:24 pm on March 26th, 2012
It DOES look like parsley! Thanks!
7:27 pm on March 26th, 2012
Dan’s BP is better today. Can’t remember if I’ve said that.
That’s all there is of me tonight.
Tomorrow is another day!
Bring it on …. ZZZZZZZ
TTFN
7:36 pm on March 26th, 2012
Georges Melies.
7:47 pm on March 26th, 2012
Somebody mentioned earlier that perhaps just the front of Chet’s ear is white. Buddy’s 3:20 post with Chet’s facebook covers blows that idea away, but it was a good one. It seems to me that we’ve seen the white ear somewhere, but I can’t remember where. I can’t check the covers of my hardcover editions because I’ve passed them on. My kindle editions don’t help.
7:50 pm on March 26th, 2012
After my previous post, I went to the top of the blog page and clicked on the “Buy my Book” tab and found a very white ear on the cover of To Catch a Thief.
7:55 pm on March 26th, 2012
Taking another look at the Buy my Book page, we see that Chet has a white ear on the cover of The Dog Who Knew Too Much also. Looking at the top of the blog page, we see a white ear in the title bar also, but that’s taken from the cover of TDWKTM.
8:21 pm on March 26th, 2012
Tyb, There you are at the top telling us to smell the flowers.
Bella: Our envelope arrived in the mail today! Thank you, thank you and thank you again for the nice note and the 2012 Iditarod patch. As B and Mollys Mom have said, it is the perfect size for our new SK. Because of you and AJ this Iditarod is one we will not soon forget.
(whispering) thank you also to Staff for the reminder to check the envelope!
8:25 pm on March 26th, 2012
Melanie may not see this till tomorrow, but they can take a leaf, rub it between their fingers and then see if it smells like parsely. It has a dstinctive scent.
Thanks Bee for the correct spelling of Georges Melies.
8:29 pm on March 26th, 2012
Where did Melanie find that book cover of THAT that does not look anything like the ones we know?
Barb, did you really say your potatoes are up already? When did you plant them? We just planted ours St. Patricks weekend.
Mom & Pop just got home from their favorite Brit pub. They stopped over to celebrate their good friend’s birthday. That friend is also Dima’s very best friend, but do you think he was invited? No! Whats up with that?

Sam, it is rather hurtful isn’t it? Dima is pretty down and talked us all into going to bed now.
Good night.

Well I survived the long day with teenagers after a night of insomnia. And the day included a special request by the principal and a surprise fire drill. I had two classes in the library plus students on passes and I had to get everyone out and at our assigned place. Staying up until bedtime and hoping for the best.

I had a long day, but not as long as CHH. My morning started with Mick, the puppy not the person, splorting on the dog pillow. It was not just any splort, but two of my stretchy gloves.
I’ve been on the sicky list all weekend and even today. Luckily, our office is closed to day for a state holiday. While I’ve rested, I’ve become addicted to a little program called Downton Abbey. The House knows all the secrets!
Rio: Hello, my pug friend.

Snowbella: boy there is nothing like waking to the sound of a dog or cat hacking and know that you have to clean up something on top of getting ready for the day.
I’m beginning to catch my second wind and it is still a couple of hours to bedtime. Wouldn’t it be just my luck to be awake at bedtime. When you miss the sleeping curve….

KKat: is there anything cuter than a husky puppy? {{{sigh}}}}

Rio: I thought for a moment you were going to tell me to have a snort of whiskey before facing teenagers. ha, ha

CHH: Even if it wasn’t Rio’s intended advice, it may not be misplaced advice.

I absolutely LOVE the new cover. But here’s my question: Is Chet’s right ear white or black? The last two covers shows it as white and the first two show it as black. I thought it was also white in the book. Also before the third book came out and revealed to me that Chet is a border collie, I just assumed he was a german shepard based on the first two covers, the size of his head and the space between the ears. Anyhoo, I really look forward to reading the next book.

Hi Bowen0714, Chet describes himself so we’re really not sure what he is except that he has one white ear and is over hundred pounds. Obviously, he’s handsome.
The Plunderers have been trying to get the cover changed to show that Chet has one white ear. No luck yet. On the internet, Spence has left T-FAT (To Fetch A Thief) with the white ear. This was changed on the real cover.
Come and join us on todays’ blog!

Speaking of mysteries. I have been reading a very interesting mystery by Sarah Caudwell. It is called Thus was Adonis Murdererd.
The author writes in the first person and uses no personal references so you are not really sure if people are male or female although you can infer the sex by some, not all, of the names. There are no descriptions of the characters so you are lost about that also. Some names, like Julia and Serena, are probably female. But others, like Cantrip and Ragwort are mysteries.
It was on one of Mr.Staffs lists of good books to buy. He found it when we went to see Shamus (and failed) at Once Upon a Crime.
