No Post Today
“Why not?” says Admin. “Just because of all these people I’ve invited over for bloody marys and eggs benedict?”
“No,” says Spence. “It’s more because today I’m writing the climactic scene in book 5. Uh, might be nice if it was a bit quieter around here.”
“Hey!” Admin calls. “You – third trumpet in the back row – slap a mute on it!”

Good Morning, All,
Early reminder to VOTE today. Samantha, perhaps a network could be worked out to transport your rescue from MASS to CO. I couldn’t do the whole trip, but could probably take a big chunk out of it. I’m in western PA and could go east or west to facilitate connections if there are others to hook up with. Scheduling could be difficult, but I’m flexible and would do what I can. Keep me in mind.
9:25 am on December 8th, 2011
Good morning.
And thanks for the continuing reminders to vote, Tyb.
Admin and Spencer: Sounds like quite the party. I’d be there in a minute, except I’m off to work. Phooey.
9:33 am on December 8th, 2011
It’s more important that Spence writes the climactic scene than having a party. I love eggs benedict.
Good morning all.
9:37 am on December 8th, 2011
Wow!….snort!… Spence is already almost finished with Book 5 – Name to be Determined – ….WoooooHooooo!….Is he ahead of schedule I wonder?…sniff! ….This is very exciting but now I am wondering why Admin did not invite me to his party…grunt!….Bloody Mary’s are my favorite!…chuffle!

Morning all. ” . . slap a mute on it!” I wish I’d been able to slap mutes on the Pack this morning!”
I was awaken by The Pack that was barking at what only could have been a horde of rampaging beavers! Doggy, they were loud. This after being awaken last night by a phone call by high as a kite father who was concerned if Zoë had gotten home. He had forgotten that she had left and gotten home by 1pm and had called him at 5:30 pm. Calmed him down . .
The Pack? Nothing was calming them down. Finally, they stopped barking (Zoë fed them) and went to sleep. I was downstairs and for some reason took it in my head that the best thing for my cold would be to go outside and do C.Harris’s deep breathing thingy from last year.
While coughing some air back into my lungs, the Pack decided that the Horde of Beavers were back and came out and barked with me.
Whew, then the electricity went out in the West Wing, Zoë was in the basement and I was coughing yes and no in answer to her flipping switches. So the Pack decided the Rampaging Horde was in the basement.
Dog, were they glad to see Zoë.
The river is high, lots of gusts of wind and a couple of inches of snow.
And lots of excitement. Time for bed again, me thinks.

I’m still laughing about the trumpet.
Good morning, everyone. Sophie looks like she is a sweetie. You know, Best Friends in Utah is always an option. I can make a small contribution to help pay for gas.
Mom’s busy place is having their office party on Saturday. She is celebrating her 30th year. (She started working when she was 12, long before the child labor laws were enacted.)
9:55 am on December 8th, 2011
Dad told mom that she could invite my boys, and so she did. They are very excited. But then he decided that if they are going, then he won’t go. But if the boys go and dad doesn’t, then mom will never hear the end of it.
And mom invited her mom and sister, and they accepted, but then they told mom that they couldn’t make it. Two days after the deadline, they decided that they were going after all. I am not sure if they can still get tickets.
Nothing ever seems to be easy.

Melanie, I think I have the same kind of cold you do-it is the deep hacking cough kind that will probably hang around for a month. At work, quiet so far.
I love Eggs Benedict too. Had some fancy ones recently with lump crab on top. Yum.
Despite the cold and two naps yesterday, got 5 doz cookies made. Oatmeal with cranberries and walnuts. Next will be the date pinwheels. If I don’t make those, #1 Favorite Son will throw a connip.
Back to work…..
Finished Robbie yesterday, but too late to get to the p.o. Will try to do it on lunch hour today. It is heading off to Wookie’s.
Bluecat, thank you again for your kindness in sharing the ARC. Will definitely be buying a copy or two in January.
10:40 am on December 8th, 2011
Beau doesn’t play trumpet does he?
I love Eggs Benedict too! And, Bloody Mary’s on occasion.
How come the Plunderers weren’t invited to this impromptu party.
11:12 am on December 8th, 2011
Good morning everyone.
Melanie and Mama like to go to a local diner that serves eggs benendict in 6 different ways! Since it is one of Mama’s very favorite things, she is working her way through the versions.
We are excited that Spence is working away on the climactic scene. Wonder if he is the picture of the frazzled author, with mussed hair and a wire wastebasket full of crumpled balls of paper. Naw – he is way too soigne.
We are off to SC to vote.

WeatherKat – We need some help here. Last night it got cold enough to start making snow. Now the snow guns are turned off waiting for it to get colder again. Help. Colder temps and real snow would be good. This place employs over 1,000 people who should have been working since last month.

Huh? Double Dawson!
11:29 am on December 8th, 2011
Heh, heh, Double Dawson for T&G!
MollyPop, we had snow. Would ship it to you, but it’s beginning to melt.
11:37 am on December 8th, 2011
Mollypop’s Mom: Cool picture! I’ve never seen snow being “made” before. It started out at 28 this morning. Now it’s 34. You should be getting our cold air.
My computer wizard friend is coming over to install a new dvd player and also to conntect a new wireless router to my computer.

MollyPop’s Mom: Snow is coming tomorrow, tomorrow night and Saturday morning. Three inches. Not much. If only we could send some your way! Anyone care to share?
12:40 pm on December 8th, 2011
Surfer Bulldog Tillman is great. He is in GOOD shape and likes what he is doing. Unlike the mascot we were reading about a week or so ago.
Been up for awhile. Time to doze in a few . . . chicken soup first.
12:47 pm on December 8th, 2011
Hello All,
Siber needs to purchase one of those cool snow-making machines.
Sorry we are late posting today…we were busy playong trumpet at Benedict’s party.

AJ, that is an awesome bulldog video, and a great testament to what bulldogs can be when bred well and trained well.
MollysMom, we need to know how to get that snow cannon!
1:07 pm on December 8th, 2011
Heh! kool videos Alice & MollyPop’s Mom.
1:08 pm on December 8th, 2011
Spence can write and then party!! We are excited that he is working on the next book.
Samantha, Please keep us posted and all paws are crossed that this works out for you. Like Wolfie, we can make a small contribution to help with gas. I know you are doing everything you can to find her a forever home.
TYB, Bless you for your offer to help Samantha.
I am off to vote soon.
1:17 pm on December 8th, 2011
Mollypop’s Mom, That is a funny video. Mom has not bought me one of those snow cannons yet…maybe Santa will. I would do a better job of controlling it than those dorks in the video.
Samantha, That is neat that you are going to Amarillo. We like Amarillo.
1:33 pm on December 8th, 2011
Mom asks us to ask you all to sign this petition to ban the horse-drawn industry in NYC.
“A few weeks ago, a carriage horse named Charlie collapsed and died in the middle of a busy New York City street, prompting an outcry over the abuses of the city’s horse-drawn carriage industry. Now, there’s more bad news: Another horse just collapsed this past weekend, right by the iconic F.A.O. Schwartz building on 59th Street.”

1:56 pm on December 8th, 2011
Fellow Sibers, Mom just signed it. Do you know why the horses are collasping? Whatever the reasons, this isn’t right.
2:06 pm on December 8th, 2011
Sibe, those horses, and most carriage horses in cities, are kept in deplorable conditions. The authorities know this, but choose to ignore their plight. Tell your mom Thanks from our mom and us.
2:07 pm on December 8th, 2011
Siber- My in-laws live in Amarillo we go there at least once a year. It’s not a bad place.
2:38 pm on December 8th, 2011
Oley, So it isn’t really like on Animal Planet where the ASPCA charges in there and whips them into shape? Sorta thought not!
2:56 pm on December 8th, 2011
Does make you wonder what the ASPCA is doing about the horses.
3:09 pm on December 8th, 2011
We just signed the petition. The sight of those poor horses when I visit NYC is upsetting. I’d love to see them disappear from the streets.
3:11 pm on December 8th, 2011
Howlers: change.org is a great organization which has been instrumental in bringing many issues to the attention of the public. Most importantly this awareness has resulted in changes in laws – where it benefits those whose need it the most. We signed the petition too.
3:37 pm on December 8th, 2011
Hello all! It sounds like we need to have a party for Wolfie’s mom, too. 30 years! Wow!
If T&G post twice is it really a Double Dawson? Or is it a Royal Redo or a Two-time-tupper!
3:47 pm on December 8th, 2011
Thanks all. Mom loves horses and whenever she sees horse-drawn carriage she wants to do it, but not if she suspects ill treatment…she can usually tell looking at those guys.
Masquers, we agree about Change.org
3:52 pm on December 8th, 2011
I signed the petition.
4:03 pm on December 8th, 2011
Twice!…It’s a Two-Timing-Tuppence…snort!
Hate!…I’m really hating a lot of things today…sniff!…Everything has a under-current of evil doing about it…grunt!…Carriage rides for Pete’s sake! Even that!…wheeze!
4:28 pm on December 8th, 2011
Dan has not received ANY pain medications since the hospital. WE ARE P***ED!
Zoe tried to work through the rehab place. They knew he hadn’t had the meds but didn’t do anything until she asked.
Then they said they could get the docs to send it. (as in CYA mode)
Zoe came home called the docs’ office who said it wasn’t their fault.
She cried on the phone.
I called back and laid down the law.
Needless to say, he’ll be getting his pain meds in about 20 minutes.
He just called and he not only stood up HE WALKED!
And that was without pain meds.
Awesome!
4:43 pm on December 8th, 2011
Health!…Care “professionals”…grunt!…Don’t get me started on those morons…sniff!…What a bunch of goons and thugs…wheeze!…Poor Dan. Its good he has Melanie and Zoe looking out for him.
5:37 pm on December 8th, 2011
Dan got his medication. The Rehab place is TAKING RESPONSIBILITY!
The Director and the Supervisor are “figuring out where their system broke down.”
Sounds good, hope it’s true.
5:46 pm on December 8th, 2011
Melanie, Good thing they have you to trouble shoot. Poor Dan!
5:48 pm on December 8th, 2011
It sounds very hopeful, Melanie, and Dan seems to be making good progress which is great news. I’m just sorry you guys had to go through this needless BS.
5:52 pm on December 8th, 2011
Baseball!… Albert Pujols is leaving St. Louis for 254 MILLION smackers to play for the LA Angels!….grunt!….Who are they again?…sniff! …I bet his fans are

Melanie: Good news about Dan. He is very lucky to have you and Zoe looking out for him.
We watched the first episode of Rosemary and Thyme last night. It looks like a winner. Two feisty ladies solving crimes – what could be better.
Time to get a bite (food, not pant leg) Later – Bear
7:34 pm on December 8th, 2011
Rules!… I do not know of any Blog Rule that states “No talking about Baseball during the off-season.”….snort!…It’s all SiberH, Wookie and I have…wuffle! ….Baseball news and rumors and rumors of rumors…heh!
7:35 pm on December 8th, 2011
And speaking of baseball, we just got a package from a friend in Colorado Springs. He sent us a Colorado Rockies ornament for our Christmas tree!
7:39 pm on December 8th, 2011
SiberH!….WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!…heh!…Cool gift dawg!..sniff!…Supper is ready and I have to go beg for my life and push Beau out of the way!…heh!

I’ve seen the Rosemary and Thyme series on tv. It’s very good.
8:00 pm on December 8th, 2011
Quick check in:
Book 5!!! I can’t wait!
Rebecca: Reading over last night’s posts…you cut my heart to the quick. Just because Belle, Luna, and I go to the upsacle Westchester Mall and shop at Coach and Louis Vuitton, and just because we snuggle under a toasty comforter, watching TV, and eating peanut M&M’s, and just because the girls and I sleep in the big bed, each with our own pillows, doesn’t mean I’m spoiling them…..
8:14 pm on December 8th, 2011
Rose!….Can I come live with you sans Shopping?…wuffle!
8:17 pm on December 8th, 2011
I love Rosemary and Thyme shows.
Melanie: Sheeesh! Everytime Dan goes into the hospital or rehab there seems to be big mistakes made. So glad he has you to look out for him. Thinking of those that don’t have anyone. Great news that he walked and I hope he got his pain meds.
OleyHowlers: I signed the petition. Those poor horses.
8:20 pm on December 8th, 2011
Hey!…We do not have a Rockies Christmas ornament for our tree…sniff!…Actually, we do not even have a tree yet…wuffle!…But if we did have a tree, we would still not have a Rockies ornament..grunt!…Something has to be done about this…wheeze!
8:21 pm on December 8th, 2011
Rio – Rose is a Yankees fan. Be careful what you wish for.
8:22 pm on December 8th, 2011
Dawson!…Have you repaired The Fan yet?…heh!
8:24 pm on December 8th, 2011
Gulp!… You are right MollysMom, but that comforter and those pillows and most of all those peanut butter M&M’s clouded my judgement for a minute there….wuffle!
8:30 pm on December 8th, 2011
billing practices….
Dad got a bill today from the local hospital. It said we owed 232.00 and that Medicare had paid 740.00 and the amount now due was 15.00.
REALLY!
Really?
I called to talk to them and they said it was a “programming issue” but it was correct because the program doesn’t print out any charge that Medicare pays in full. I told them that it looked to me like they owed us around 500.00 dollars. She said I can’t explain it, but it is correct. I said it wasn’t logical and if she can’t explain it please let me talk to someone who can. She said (REALLY) “No one can explain it. It is just the way the program works.” I replied we are not paying any bill until I get an itemized list of charges that makes sense.
That is the way it stands now. She is supposed to send me a complete bill. I am beginning to think I out to talk to the Attorney General. If this is how they think they can bill people then how can anyone ever tell what the actual bill really is?
The lady on the phone agreed with me and said other people have complained also. REA-ALLY…
8:36 pm on December 8th, 2011
Medical!…The whole Medical system is screwed beyond logical repair…grunt!…My friend has decided she is going to die quietly in her sleep and not deal with those bastards ever again…grump!…Me too! Me too!…wuffle!
8:47 pm on December 8th, 2011
Rio, He bought that ornament at Lowes, where he works.
8:52 pm on December 8th, 2011
Rio: No, I have not repaired the Fan yet. I haven’t even had time to go to a store and look for that glue. Tomorrow after work I have to go get the snow tires put on and an interior heater put in the car so it won’t happen tomorrow. Then on the weekend I work two 12 hour shifts so it won’t happen then. On Monday I will sleep all day so it won’t happen then. You get the idea. (Maybe Tuesday.)
8:54 pm on December 8th, 2011
Ornament!…I’m sitting here wondering why that guy from Lowes didn’t send me one also….grunt!… Or why SiberH has not sent me the one he got….sniff!… What is going on around here anyways. First there is Beau who is starting to believe he belongs here and thinks what’s mine is his…grump!… Then there is an impromtu writers party at Chets Blog that I was not invited to, and finally SiberH gets a Rockies ornament which should rightfully be Mine!Mine!Mine!….gruffle! ….The world is all twisted and not right today…sniff!
9:16 pm on December 8th, 2011
Horse!….They keep running the War Horse previews and it makes my friend feel bad…grunt!…Thinking about all those poor horses during WWI….wheeze!… She used to have a pure black horse called Jimmy when she was 12 years old…..heh!…He was smaller than a Quarter horse, he was what they call a Welsh I guess?…snort!….Anyways, Jimmy was a mean horse when she first got him, but she rode the hell out of him anyways along with her sister who had a mean little Shetland pony…heh!…Jimmy hated to cross anything that went over water…sniff! ….She was the only one who could get him over those dirt bridges that went over big wide ditches out on the ole farm. Those two little girls rode their horses every day making up elaborate stories about being outlaw kids on the “run”…heh!… The two horses, Jimmy and Sugar would oblige by running as fast as they could when the Sheriff was on their heels…chorkel!…What fun they had taking care of their horses…sniffle!
9:19 pm on December 8th, 2011
Rio. Speaking of baseball (sorry T&G), did you see that the Rockies traded Huston Street to the Padres yesterday. That seemed a bit of a surprise. And the Pujols deal is just amazing. Lot of sad folks in St. Louie tonight. Wookie
9:26 pm on December 8th, 2011
GAH!…Wookie! I did not read about the Huston Street deal…gasp!…Do you know who they traded that wonderful Chess Player/Baseball Closer for?…sniff!….I hate the off-season…sob! sob!
9:32 pm on December 8th, 2011
GASP! I did not know about the Huston Street deal either. How come Wookie gets this news and we don’t. I read the sports page.
9:35 pm on December 8th, 2011
On second thought, maybe it is best if Wookie is the one that breaks the news to us.
9:36 pm on December 8th, 2011
Huston!…Sob!Sob!Sob!…sniff! …Goodbye!…sob!sob!sob!
9:51 pm on December 8th, 2011
Movies!…Fitting that we should now be watching our first Christmas movie ordered from netfix called Meet Me In St. Louis tonight….sniff! Especially after hearing of Pujols departure. Well actually this movie has NOTHING to do with that!…heh!…We are both in a good mood again…grunt!… I mean we three are in a good mood, I guess. Whatever.…wuffle!
10:03 pm on December 8th, 2011
Rose: I didn’t mean to cut your heart to the quick. All the girls say after they return from a visit is, “Rose would let us…” I can’t win. They are forced to share their king size bed with AJ, and not only that but I regularly wash the comforters so they have to start over making it smell just right each time. What can I say—I’m unfit.
I was notified today that voting for AJ was mentioned in a newsletter for a treehouse community today. The community is in Costa Rica. Wow!
10:11 pm on December 8th, 2011
Rio/SiberH — According to press reports, he was traded for the infamous “player to be named later.” I think this is a financial move. Wookie
10:16 pm on December 8th, 2011
GRUUMP!…sniff!
10:23 pm on December 8th, 2011
That was true of Ubaldo also, I think. One of the players he was traded for was unknown at the time of the trade and I still don’t know who he is. grump
10:26 pm on December 8th, 2011
Treehouse!…What the hell is a Treehouse community?….snort!…Squirrels are not involved, are they?…heh!
10:49 pm on December 8th, 2011
Rio: As I understand it, treehouses have been built by folks that live in them year round.
I fear that the MG’s may have intercepted packages to purchasers of MMCS items? Gulp. Rose? Melanie? Have there been any sightings of flat rate boxes?

Stopping by to say good night. Packing is done, ready for the show this weekend.
Gee its too bad that Mama is still too “sick” to go to CLL – sure hope she can manage the show this weekend – tee hee.
Rio – there is a new Blog Rule – strict regulations on the number of times baseball can be mentioned in the off season. And we think you have used up the whole quota in one night. Aww gee…too bad. No more baseball talk til spring training. Oh well – what ever will we talk about?
Night all – talk to you after the show

G’Night!….heh!…Sorry Rebeccer, we will have to try and watch that link tomorrow sometime…wuffle!… Everyone here is dead tired and wanting me to log off and go get in my warm soft bed…sniff!…Beau has not touched any of my beloved baseball toys…grunt!… If he ever does, that will be the END of him…grunt!

I saw this really great post today….
