No Post Today
Why no post? Too busy! Running around in circles is a kind of busy. Here’s Ian again, Friend of the Month. Soon he’ll be in a special place over to the side for the whole month. As soon as Ian’s human companion emails Spence (spence.quinn@gmail.com) with a mailing address, a signed copy of To Fetch A Thief will be on the way.
Today at 2, Dennis Public Library, Dennis MA: Spence and Admin, rare joint appearance.
Welcome Rufus, Melody, Leia, Billy.

Wolfie you sure were up early watching that wedding!
I wonder if Ian’s people know he’s the Friend of the Month? Doesn’t look like it…
8:55 am on April 29th, 2011
Good morning. We are watching the royal wedding in recaps. Couldn’t quite make it up in time.
Hope Ian didn’t just post and run. Does he know he has been honored? There should be a rule that the winner has to report back within a week, or some such number, maybe 2.
8:55 am on April 29th, 2011
Good morning Chet. Wish I could be at the Dennis Public Library to see the joint appearance.
Good evening Liz and good morning everyone else.

Good morning and good night girls!
9:25 am on April 29th, 2011
Good morning to Plunderers at home.
Ve have been to vedding – Kate’s dress vas nice, but ve think Sam vith her vonderfluff and lovely hat outshone the bride.
Qveen was vearing bright yellow – certainly happier color than for last (unfortunate) bride.
And for anyvon who thought Macy’s swoop hat might be too much – all ve can say is “did you see the thing on Camilla’s head?” She look like flying nun.
Anyvay, the group has decided to come home already. The big dinner vas going to be full of very boring diplomats and such. Rio vas anxious to come home, vatch baseball. Vhitey vas missing Orion and snow. Sammie vas tired of carrying big hat and Alice vas just tired – (vhispering – ve think she vas just upset about having to dress up like doggie)
So, all of your companions should be back by your sides in leetle vhile.
Thank you all for letting them come vith Natasha. Mission vas successful and ve all got lovely tan at beach.

I’m cracking up over last night’s comments. Good reporting Wolfie’s mom and Rebecca. (I’m getting concerned about you two not being able to sleep.)
9:35 am on April 29th, 2011
Kate was a beautiful bride, and we think, more prepared for the limelight than poor Diana was. She has more maturity and also a more loving spouse than Diana did. Can you believe she is actually from a town called Bucklebury? Is that quintessential English or what?
Safe travels home. Glad Natasha did not hold you for ransom!
10:02 am on April 29th, 2011
Wow! What a ceremony. Mom and I got up early to watch it (dad slept in though). Seeing them all marching behind the bridal procession was just great too — kudos to Nattie for pulling it off. Sammie was a real princess, and all the guys looked very dashing. I. think I saw Rio wink at me through one of the television cameras. Good show, pip, pip, and cheerio, and all that stuff.
Here on the home front, it’s a beautiful day, sunny, with temperatures in the low sixties. Just glorious. We took a long walk in Rock Creek Park this morning, and bumped into my friend Baxter. He is a minature poodle (only about 10 pounds) but he has never figured out that he and I are not the same size (which is just fine with me). We ran and smelled and marked all over the place; it was great fun. Toodles until later. Wookie”

Today the Royal Wedding
But last night a dream
3 digging in a garden
familiar facesa all
I wake up barking &
rush to make a call
to my friend in London
& explain what happened
she laughs & says
no worries, Bear,
today there was a
wedding, a Wedding
seen by all.
10:59 am on April 29th, 2011
Good morning, y’all! I’m glad everyone had such a lovely time at the wedding! Have a good trip back! I hope Natasha is planning to land the plane rather than pushing you out with a parachute — or worse yet, no parachute!
I’m glad to say we made it through all the storms yesterday, although we did lose our electricity. Mom had to shower yesterday morning by candlelight, and she says it wasn’t as romantic as it sounds! As inconvenient as it was for us, though, Mom says she kept thinking about all those people who lost their houses — and some their lives — and she felt positively blessed!
12:18 pm on April 29th, 2011
Hi everyone – Greetings from London. We have had a marvelous time visiting with our cousins. We saw Natasha and the gang – and we think that our group had much better hats than some of the “hometown folks”.
We decided to stay with the royal party for the banquet. After all, who is going to notice two more little Corgis under the table when there are already 10 others? And did you hear? The Queen now has another dog – a pup that was the result of a “date” between one of her Corgis with one of her daughter’s Dachshunds….So does that make it a Corgund? A Dagi? Well, whatever, he’s pretty cute.
Oops, next course is coming – we gotta get back on patrol for dropped crumbs etc, cuz Mama says that anything that falls on the floor is legally ours!
We will let you know when we get back home.
12:22 pm on April 29th, 2011
T&G: Maybe I should have come to the vedding after all! If the queen has a not-so-purebred puppy, maybe she wouldn’t have noticed a corgi cousin!!! I could have eaten dropsies under the table with you!
12:33 pm on April 29th, 2011
I made it home safely on a commercial flight. After the wedding, Whitey-Lance and I dashed up to see Wattie. Mom had the tickets waiting for us at the airport because she figured if she didn’t, we’d run off on another adventure.
The wedding was okay, but the soil in the Royal garden made me appreciate my sand more. The sand doesn’t get all stickey between my footpads and toenails.
Our girls were all as beautiful as the bride.
I saw some hats on the English ladies that would make great dog toys
Glad you reported in Kirby because I was thinking about you yesterday. It is so sad about the storm damage and lives lost.
12:45 pm on April 29th, 2011
(whispering – Cousin Kirby – we’ll bring you a dropsie bag)

Wrong version posted.(sigh)
1:22 pm on April 29th, 2011
BSD – Wrong version of your poem? We would love to see the “right” version, there is a pretty rhythm to the one you posted.
2:03 pm on April 29th, 2011
BSD, me too…It is a nice poem.
Did you guys do a head count before you boarded the Lear jet?
Where is Rio? You left him behind! sniff, sniff, sob, sob
2:24 pm on April 29th, 2011
I hope Riö gets home safe. Katie had a blast. She does say she enjoys being out of the Corgi suit though. She brought everyone small British flags to wave. I have attached them to The Packs tails, they would have fit right in with the parade after the wedding. She also brought Grace some bling. A beautiful silver bracelet that fits right over one of Gracie’s ears. They are sitting down and gossiping.
YSAS was going to jump into a pond today. snicker
He put his feet in it to lean over and make sure the way was clear.
That’s when he screamed. snicker
Turns out it was REALLY cold. He’s going to wait until the end of May.
I’m glad he decided not to give himself a heart attack.
Dan went with us so he could see the mill and then watch McKey jump in.
He got to see the mill.

Hi Everybody – Sam is home now and she is sick. She’s all stuffed up and coughing. if she’s not better she will go to the v-e-t.
3:22 pm on April 29th, 2011
Zoë wrote this on yesterday’s blog.
Dan and I were up early watching the wedding. Actually, we’re always up early. I looked carefully and never saw a Corgi, so I guess you were behaving well. We all hope you had a wonderful time. Zoe

Whitey-Lance is home and preparing to leave to work on the glacier this summer with the rest of the team. It’s been nonstop about plane rides, royal gardens, and how lovely the lady Plunderers looked in their finery.
Having only traveled in the state of Alaska with his mates, his international travels with the Plunderers really opened his eyes to the world. He learned that ladies in fine dresses and big hats don’t necessarily liked to randomly be hugged by a stranger in a corgi suit (some lessons you just have to learn the hard way), he now understands that a tree inside a church doesn’t serve the same purpose as trees in the out of doors (another lesson he learned the hard way), and SiberH taught him the wonders of digging holes. He also confided something he learned from his time with Rio: “Swears!”
Kirby: Hoping you stay safe.
4:19 pm on April 29th, 2011
Wolfie came home all twitterpated.
He is smitten with Natasha! Says she is hot! And of course, he will always love Sam! And now he has a crush on the Duchess of Cambridge, even though she is a human. Apparently she gives great pats!
He will post later but he is sleeping off the jet lag right now.
4:28 pm on April 29th, 2011
Thanks, Bella! We’ve got beautiful, sunny skies right now. You wouldn’t even know about all the storms yesterday!
4:45 pm on April 29th, 2011
Has everyone but Rio reported in?
BBC America has the “Royal Wedding” on all day and apparently into the night. I’ve never seen so many ridiculous hats…ever!
4:50 pm on April 29th, 2011
Happy you are all home safe (Rio?) Sammie, sorry you aren’t feeling so good!
Did anyone remember it’s Arbor Day? Time to plant a tree in rememberance of a loved one.
Whitey-Lance: Happy trails this summer. The tourists will love the rides! Maybe you and Siber-H can keep in touch by ipaw.
4:51 pm on April 29th, 2011
BSD, That is a lovely poem.
Rebecca, My vocabulary has expanded since I made friends with Rio, much to mom’s disapproval.
Sam, Get Well! You might have to go to the you know what.
The weather here today is horrid…wind and blowing sand so bad there is no blue to the sky.

Mom says a woman came into the library one day and was chatting with a co-worker when the subject of the royal wedding came up. The woman said she just couldn’t understand why the wedding was scheduled for 4 o’clock in the morning. Her co-worker explained that it was because the wedding was in England. The woman said she knew that, but she just couldn’t understand why those English people get married at 4 o’clock in the morning! The co-worker was going to explain that just like California is in a different time zone than we are, so is England. But she decided it just wasn’t worth the aggravation!
5:14 pm on April 29th, 2011
Macy and Alice haven’t reported in either. And where is Dawson?
Bear: I like the poem.

T&G, Siber-H & B: It was not exactly Haiku, but thanks!
5:42 pm on April 29th, 2011
Luggage!…. I just got home…huffle!… I followed SiberH to the airport and he had a ticket waiting for him but I didn’t…grump!… So he had the big idea to put me in a bag and check me as luggage… grumble!… That wasn’t fun at all …sniff! ….I was in the cold, dark belly of that plane forever and ever!…growl!… Then when we landed I got tossed down the luggage chute and went round and round on this conveyer belt. SiberH forgot that he had checked me as his luggage and took off immediately…grump!… Finally someone found me and called my friend to come get me….snorkel!….She was not a happy camper, let me tell you what!…sniff!… I can never ever leave my yard again….EVER!
6:00 pm on April 29th, 2011
Macy has slept nonstop since arriving home. She said, good time, good friends, good night.
6:14 pm on April 29th, 2011
Stover, I think Dawson is traveling.
Where is Mollie(ABP)?
Oh my dog! I’m the one that lost Rio.
6:14 pm on April 29th, 2011
Good night Macy.
Poor Rio…..I can’t stop laughing!
6:16 pm on April 29th, 2011
Everyone has checked in safe and sound?
Good night from Bear and champagne and
cavier dreams to all.
6:39 pm on April 29th, 2011
P.S. Kirby: I know what you mean. Once when we were conversing with a person in California they asked what time zone Washington was in.
7:40 pm on April 29th, 2011
How hilarious that someone thinks people get married at 4am! And yet, how dumb…
Rio, i’m loving the picture of you going round on the luggage carousel!
YSAS = Natasha…that’s my new theory. (Don’t tell her).
Watch out for those awful tornadoes.
7:40 pm on April 29th, 2011
I believe that Dawson is on vacation.
Riö, I hope you didn’t get dizzy.
Loved the poem Bear!
Bella, I’m glad WL had a great time! Swears huh? Hmmm . . . Loved the tree image!
7:43 pm on April 29th, 2011
Puff!… I’m still in the dog-house because of SiberH forgetting all about me….grump!… Someone here almost cut me off the computer for good …sniff! …SiberH, I thought you were my friend. That damned bad memory of yours…gah!….At least we have a game to watch tonight. It has been forever since I’ve seen the Rockies play ball. At least 2 days or so….heh! …Maybe she will forget about what happened if the Rockies winnit tonight…sniff!
7:53 pm on April 29th, 2011
I’m so sorry, Rio. I was suffering from jet lag, and trail lag, and everything else (memory issues) Tell your friend that it was my fault. You didn’t get lost on purpose.
Rio, are the Rockies going to be able to play tonight because of the weather. It is very nasty here.
7:57 pm on April 29th, 2011
Bear – Your poem was great!
Sam is feeling slightly better so it’s going in the right direction.
7:58 pm on April 29th, 2011
Weather!…It is very, very windy here, but no rain….snort!…I’m sure they will play…Wooooo!…The wind is weird because all the trees are blowing in circles instead of one direction…gruffle!…I wouldn’t want to be Pitching in this kind of twirlie stuff…grunt!
8:12 pm on April 29th, 2011
Sammie!…Did little Sammie catch an English bug or something that was living in her hat…wuffle!…I hope she feels better tonight. She may have eaten too many Kidney and Beans or some other gross English dish…sniff!…I wonder if she had Toad in the Hole…gah!
8:24 pm on April 29th, 2011
In a couple of hours there should be a new video up. A spoof documentary titled A Sighting of the rare Ellie Newfasaurous snicker . . .
It’s YSAS’s thank you to Zoë for putting up with him. I did the camera work, he did the voice over in an terrible Austrailian accent (sorry Liz). We had a great time, and Zoë and Dan love it.
I’m exhausted and getting up early to take YSAS to the train by 12:30 pm. We want to make sure we get there on time, because the next train leaves 2 hours later.
Here’s the other thing we’ve been working on . . .
TTFN!
8:29 pm on April 29th, 2011
Bad-Ass!…. I love that man, that Clarkson Man!…snort!…. One day I want to see him in a play or a movie…snorkel!…Guys like me are allowed, right?…heh!
Event!….We’ve been watching the latest episode of The Event. This show gets better each and every week…heh!…That’s unusual for Prime Time TV shows…sniff!
Seasons!….Oh, my disheveled friend is so very tired tonight, I hope she can stay up with me for the whole game…sniff!…Busy season is upon us and now things will change. My supper will be late and she will be grumpier than usual (no help from me) …snort! …Life will go on I guess till a Spring-time tornado rips through here and takes me out for good…yeep!
8:30 pm on April 29th, 2011
Melanie!….Can I have Clarkson’s autograph on the photo please?…snort!….Begging big time here…sniffle!…I’ve been through a lot today, just remember that, okay?…snuffle!
8:33 pm on April 29th, 2011
(((Yawn))) I have been napping since early this morning, my time. Staff tried to wake me up when she put up some mini-blinds in the bedroom late this afternoon but I just rolled over and went back to sleep.
It was fun seeing the wedding. The hardest part was keeping my tail in that d**n Corgi suit. There is no room for a big fluffy tail in there. I have no idea how Natasha did it. She was certainly a largish Corgi. My favorite part was tea with LizF. That was just fine. I don’t think I will go to London again though. The plane ride, even in a Lear Jet, is a long long ride.
8:52 pm on April 29th, 2011
Ribs!….We here are watching Clarkson’s video on how to cook Ribs during the commercials ….snort!…Rockies are playing right now!…Woooo!…Can’t find the latest video yet…sniff!
9:02 pm on April 29th, 2011
OMG!….My friend is actually going to try to make those McKey Ribs…snort!….We are both so hungry now, I can’t stand it…grunt!
9:36 pm on April 29th, 2011
Ahem….good evening everyone.
We just got home from our cousin’s place and found Mama sitting in a chair looking kind of dazed. She had an envelope in one hand, and a letter in the other.
We couldn’t read the whole letter, but the top of it says it was from that fancy schmancy art show that she wanted to get into so much. And the first line of the letter says “Congratulations” in big bold letters.
We think that this is good news, but Mama is just sitting there shaking her head and saying over and over “I can’t beleive it”.
Do you all think she will be ok?
9:43 pm on April 29th, 2011
Tupper!…Wow! Good news for you guys!…snort!…If she makes a load of money at the fancy art show, you could be swimming in jerky treats…Wooooooo!Weeeeeeee! …Good Job! …snort!
9:43 pm on April 29th, 2011
Congratulations Tupper and Gilly’s mom! She’ll be ok, and she should definatly be in the show. I have thought that all along.
9:46 pm on April 29th, 2011
Congrats to T&G’s mom!
9:47 pm on April 29th, 2011
Ahem!…Now after that good news from Tupper, I need a soapbox bitching moment….grunt!
Ian!…I’m already sick of looking at him…grump!…We have to see his lurking face all next month too?…huffle!…That guy won’t show up. He’s a one-timer…sniff!…So what happens if the prize is not claimed? Who’s the Runner-Up?…grunt!….This Random shit stinks…grunt! …Even if he does show up, I’ll be plenty sick of looking at him by June…gruffle! …Who comes up with this crap anyway?…sniff!…Done! But I don’t feel any better about it…gah!
9:56 pm on April 29th, 2011
Oh poor Rio – you’re just grumpy from going round and round on that luggage thingies that we can’t spell.
But everyone knows what happens when a contest winner doesn’t show up.
The prize is automatically awarded to the nearest Royal being – and we think in light of the wedding and our cousins and all, that means us! So Spence – we can send you our address so you can send that book to us!
10:02 pm on April 29th, 2011
Sons!…Does anyone remember Fred MacMurray of My Three Sons, plus a lot of good old movies?…snort!…Well, my friend thinks that actor on the Geiko commercials looks Exactly like a young Fred MacMurray…gruff!…Does anyone know if they are related in any way? …snorkel!
10:04 pm on April 29th, 2011
Good job T&G’s mom! Let us have pictures of what you’re showing.
Good night all.
10:08 pm on April 29th, 2011
Good night Bee
(whispering – it will be a while before there sre pics – the show is in October, and Mama has got to really get busy…and FAST)
10:18 pm on April 29th, 2011
Tupperance!….How does she apply to these shows anyways?…snort!…I’m asking for my friend because she would never do something like that on her own…grunt! …Plus, it would take her years to have enough stuff to show at a show..sniff!
Rockies!…They are trailing behind the damned Pirates of all teams…grunt!…AT HOME!…grrrrrr! ….My friend is not feeling any forgiveness towards me tonight so far…wuffle!…These Rockies have to pull it out soon!..grunt!
10:28 pm on April 29th, 2011
Rio- your friend SHOULD go for some juried shows. Her work is lovely from what we have seen (remember, we have only been in the neighborhood for a little while)
The best way to find shows is to go to shows. Talk to the artists, ask about that show, and who to talk to about applying. Some shows are simply applications, some are juried and you have to go thru all kinds of hoops and submit pictures and resumes etc. It is also possible to find a booth partner for some shows. If you have a friend who is also an artist, or if you meet someone at an art show that you hit it off with, it might make sense to share a booth, if your art is complementary to each other.
Also, if you go to art galleries in your area, they may have brochures or newspapers or magazines that are for artists and about art shows. There is also a magazine called Sunshine Artist that lists shows by state, and has some really good resource info.
here’s a link for you
http://www.sunshineartist.com
Tell your friend that she has a talent, and she should be proud of it.
10:39 pm on April 29th, 2011
hoo boy – that jet lag really does take its toll.
We’re gonna say good night all – we hope to be back up to speed tomorrow night.
Yaaaaaaawwwnnnnnnn
G’night

Congratulations to the Royal’s Mum. We are glad she is in the show. Now the work really begins eh? I hope you will have time to play on the blog occasionally. Or, just let the Herbs play. That will be fine with me. I think they are a hoot.
10:48 pm on April 29th, 2011
Work!…What I hear almost every day now is she is tired of working a 7:30 – 4:30 plus day. More hours during busy-time…grump!….But she has to sell a house and make a big-time move to be able to maybe check out these shows….gruff!…Thanks for the link and info Tupper it will help in the decision making process…chuffle!
Hey!..,AbbieTheKat finally got off her fat butt and posted…heh!…It’s been a very long time Missy…sniff!
10:56 pm on April 29th, 2011
We are not going to make it to the end of the baseball game tonight, sigh. It has been a very hectic day, what with forgetting and losing Rio and all the other excitement.
Good Night everyone
11:02 pm on April 29th, 2011
Oh my goodness, lots going on today. First of all; Bear, loved the poem. Both of them, actually. Congrats to the Herbals mom. Woot woot!!
Macy, I am glad that you are okay. You too Rio. I won’t even mention the fact that if you would have stayed with me and the ladies, none of this would have happened. WE had a lovely ride home on the lear jet, didn’t we gals? Loved all the spa treatments coming and going. Oh, and just so you know, YSAS caterered all the meals home and we even had lots of ribs left over for doggie bags. Delish!
Rebecca, you need to get yourself an avatar before Melanie cooks one up for you! No telling who you would end up as!
Did anyone notice that none of us showed up in the photos? That Natasha is GOOD!! I can’t believe that we pulled it off!
11:09 pm on April 29th, 2011
Wot!….Oh good grief SiberH it is Friday Night for Pete’s Sake!…snort!…What the Hell!…Phooey on you!
Rockies!…I’m posting the score because the ones who HATE baseball are not here right now…heh!…It is 3 to Nuthin! Pirates… The damned Pirates are ahead AND it is Top of the 9th!…grump!….This is not a good situation right now…gah!
11:22 pm on April 29th, 2011
Pirates!…Well, they are the first team to Shut-Out the Rockies this season so far…GRUMP!…
Bad!…Bad Day all Around…grrrr!…I am still in the Dog-House…snuffle!…She is really pissed off about everything now…yeep!yeep!
11:27 pm on April 29th, 2011
Not related to baseball scores, avatars or my jealousy of the artistic talents of T&G’s mom, I was thinking of the silent auction tonight as I was in the kennel and what Snowhook might contribute. I was disappointed when Whitey-Lance’s Iditarod tag was no longer on his collar. Drat! As I hugged him (or was he the hugger and I the huggee?—doesn’t matter for the story), I looked down in the mud and saw the remains of his tag. Chewed, but still his tag.
11:46 pm on April 29th, 2011
Chewed!…It might be worth even more that way! Chewed, I mean….heh!..Rebecca, keep it for the Auction for sure!….huffle!…As things settle down, someone here will be in touch about the Silent Auction with more details…snort!
