Why not? Because we’re leaving the land of Kermit Ruffins.

Good morning all.

Lucky Quacky Duckies!
Good Morning B.Stover.

Good morning, Bee and Dawson.

Hi Wolfie: How’s the newest member of your family? (Can you tell I forgot the name…is it Gus?)
Oops. I’m off to the salt mines. Not going to be late today.

Dawson must be really working just to keep warm!
Hi Wölfie, I missed you yesterday!
Hmm. Our intrepid author is coming back to a major rainstorm!
A Kat Picture for Riö (from the National Geographic Photo of the Day)

snicker
10:39 am on February 27th, 2011
Oh figit. Let me rename the photo . . .

10:41 am on February 27th, 2011
Oh…I like that cat! What is it?
I’m not going to ask why we have no post today but Chet has been on Facebook this morning.
11:26 am on February 27th, 2011
That is a Lynx. Sam and all of our Pack here should not get any where near this guy!
11:27 am on February 27th, 2011
Chet is a busy busy guy, and our beloved author probably is in post-book recuperation, so I guess we should allow the guys a little slack.
Hi everybody! How does Sunday look from your window? Overcast, but warmish at 55. Only 11:00 and everybody who got up is now down for a nap. Not dad, though, he just skipped the getting up part and went straight from night to nap. I think he may be part Kat
11:41 am on February 27th, 2011
Hi Macy: Hmm. Snowed all night, but only about 3 inches. Now just snizzling. Hopefully today will be 36 degrees and tomorrow is 44 degrees and RAIN!
11:48 am on February 27th, 2011
Gus Puppy is now my BFF, now that he is no longer trying to chew my ears off.
Mom wants to post his picture, but she can’t figure out how to post a photo from the iPaw to the blog.
Can anyone help?
11:50 am on February 27th, 2011
Hello everyone – well, we miss Ingrid today, but we will let it slide just this once.
We got a PILE of snow last night, but now it is warming up to a balmy 36, and the snow is turning to heavy, snowball consistency. Hopefully next step is to melt completely away and leave a clean, albeit wet driveway.
Melanie – gorgeous picture. Glad it was in NG, not in your backyard! Now THAT is a Kat to strike terror in the heart of Pugs…and Corgis, and Poodles, and Goldies, etc. etc. etc. (we love The King and I)
Sending our Sunday best to Wookie – hope you are feeling good!
11:54 am on February 27th, 2011
Good morning everyone. We sent off our emergency info this morning.
We hope our guys are just vacationing, and not losing interest in our blog. That would be awful!
12:03 pm on February 27th, 2011
Hi Macy, We are suppose to have an hour’s worth of blizzard roll through sometime this morning. That is not gonna happen…they are nuts.
Wookie, thinking of you and sending healing thoughts your way.
12:06 pm on February 27th, 2011
-35. More snow. I am supposed to meet up with a couple of friends to watch the Oscars. The red carpet arrivals in the sun are going to seem surreal. Haven’t seem very many movies at all this last year so I don’t know how interesting the show will be for me. But it is always nice seeing friends–one friend I haven’t seen in a month due to me being sick and the other friend has been in Mexico for 3 months (her annual winter get-away with her husband).
12:12 pm on February 27th, 2011
Good afternoon, y’all! I’ll just be on for a short time because Mom just got home from church and now she and Dad are getting ready to go watch a women’s basketball game at USC, and then Mom has a church committee meeting tonight. Sheesh — I wish they would just leave the computer on for me so I can keep myself entertained while they’re gone!
As long as we’re all giving weather reports…right now we have a balmy 72 degrees, well on its way to a predicted high of 79. Ahh, February in South Carolina. It’s da bomb!
T&G: Mom used to have a Siamese cat named Etcetera!!!
12:21 pm on February 27th, 2011
C.Harris – brrrrrrrr
Cousin Kirby – grrrrrr (we’re just jealous)
12:27 pm on February 27th, 2011
Sorry! I know I shouldn’t gloat, especially when Mom just came home from church all full of love for everybody. Well, I love all of you — I’m just super happy to be warm!!!
Dad just came and said to shut down the computer now so they can leave. See y’all later!
12:28 pm on February 27th, 2011
P.S. As my grandpa says, don’t worry — we’ll pay for it this summer when the temperature and the humidity both reach 110!
1:18 pm on February 27th, 2011
Yes you will, Kirby T! I remember when we first moved from VA and everyone said how humid it was in MA, I just couldn’t believe it. Now I’ve been acclimated. Sort of like C.Harris, but not.
So T&G you got dumped on! The other side of the hills got dumped on also. For once we are not the record breakers.
Since there was 3 inches of snow over the ice in the driveway, Patsy and I went out to clear the van and move it. Patsy sat in the van and supervised (after finding all the treats that were left in there). I walked around with a broom. Not too bad and it GOT ME OUT OF THE HOUSE! Cabin Fever here.
The van is now moved so the Plaster Dude can come tomorrow at 8 am. (rolling eyes) He just spent time in Hawaii, so might prefer to go down to Kirby T’s instead of here.
1:29 pm on February 27th, 2011
Kirby, You never commented on our Father’s Day gift idea. What do you think? Let us know when you get back.
1:34 pm on February 27th, 2011
Here’s the Wikipedia article on the lynx. I think the one in Melanie’s picture is an Iberian lynx and it is endangered. (They eat goats.)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lynx
1:59 pm on February 27th, 2011
We have to save those lynx!!!
2:05 pm on February 27th, 2011
I thought I didn’t recognize the lynx in Melanie’s photo. The ones up here are Canadian lynx. The lynx is our junior high students’ mascot (the raven is the mascot of the senior high).
Usually this time of year we have a “false spring” but obviously that is not going to happen this year. It usually is a week of unseasonably warm weather. People fall for it every year and start putting away their winter clothes (I think one year I washed my car in the melting snow)….then winter returns and puts everyone it a bad mood. I don’t know why we fall for it; living in the arctic we should know better.
2:06 pm on February 27th, 2011
Grunt!… What the hell? This Kermit Ruffian guy is starting to put a bad taste in my mouth!….grump!… Chet doesn’t even write his own blog anymore, is that it?….snort!…This is all starting to piss me off big time….hummphf!
Kats!… Who eat Goats! Now we’re talking. Kats doing something useful for a change…grunt!….and Hell hasn’t totally frozen over yet….sniff!
2:26 pm on February 27th, 2011
Riö now has a favorite Kat . . .
3:43 pm on February 27th, 2011
Melanie: Did you get the link about the decaf tea?
3:46 pm on February 27th, 2011
No, I’ll check it now.
3:50 pm on February 27th, 2011
Wookie!…I’m wondering how my good friend Wookie is today….sniff!… I hope he is feeling tip-top….snort!…If I could leave my yard I would go visit him and try to cheer him up or vice versa…heh!
4:05 pm on February 27th, 2011
Melanie: My favorite is rasberry royale but I also like the Earl Grey Green tea.
4:06 pm on February 27th, 2011
Melanie: Forgot–The English Teatime is a black tea so it should be strong in flavor.
4:07 pm on February 27th, 2011
Hope Wookie is okay.
4:07 pm on February 27th, 2011
Are they back from New Orleans yet?
4:13 pm on February 27th, 2011
Wolfie: I don’t know how to download photos from the iPad. You’ll probably have to wait for Mollypop.
4:14 pm on February 27th, 2011
Mom is trying to do her taxes today, but the Intuit website is down.
Maybe she should sew instead. Regardless, she has decided that today is a good day to stay home in her jammies! She didn’t even go to church today.
Some days are just like that….
4:21 pm on February 27th, 2011
Wolfie!….Yes, some days are like that and even some months…grunt!… We here can’t wait until February is over. For one reason or several others, it has been a very bad month…sneeze!
4:27 pm on February 27th, 2011
Hi everyone. Yesterday was a busy day so I didn’t get a chance to see the blog until today. Thanks everyone for your goodvwishes and warm thoughts, they really help a lot. I was able to take a nice walk in the woods today with mom and dad. We ran a lot of errands afterwards, which was kind of boring, although one stop was at the pet store to get treats for me, which was okay. Just taking it easy now. Tomorrow will be my third treatment and I will also see my acupuncturist as well. Is everyone going to watch the Oscars tonight. I will be rooting hard for The Royal Corgies movie (which I think the two-leggeds call The King’s Speech). Oh yeah, I think the emergency contact list is a great idea and will send my details to Commander Rio. I think Melanie and Wolfie’s mom have our home address as well. Wookie
4:31 pm on February 27th, 2011
Gasp!…We here forgot all about the Oscars being on tonight!….yeep!… We watch it every year and all the preview stuff too, which we are probably missing right now….snort!…I’ll have to go check. Thanks for the heads up Wooks!…heh!…That might have been a close call if not for you!…sniff!
4:35 pm on February 27th, 2011
Awww!… They are interviewing the dogs from that one movie…grunt!…Don’t know what it is called…sniff!
4:50 pm on February 27th, 2011
I wonder if Chet and Bernie are going to the Sidekick Award thingy. Did Spence ever say for sure? It seems to me that there was some problem with the hotel being full or not full or something. It seems a little hazy to me right now.
5:12 pm on February 27th, 2011
Careful with the blurring Wolfie, I think it makes your brain fuzzy! Hope things are going smoother at your place. Give your mom a lick from me.
5:16 pm on February 27th, 2011
Awwwww – Rio almost missed the oscars…
We don’t watch them – not really interested in seeing a bunch of pampered “stars” parade around in horrifically expensive clothes and jewelry. At least not until our McKey is up for a Best Actor award – then we will be in the front row cheering, and telling everyone that the Oscars are the best show ever, since we all know that McKey will win. (we’re sure his movie will be the best picture that year too, but the lead actor hardly ever gets the credit for that).
But we would be happy to tune in and tease you for your comments tonight Mr.Pug the Fashion Bug
giggle
5:21 pm on February 27th, 2011
Hi Herbs,
I did not mean to talk Corgis in my e-mail, sorry. I knew that you are my emergentree contacts. Does your mom work? Maybe we can talk to you two on the phone sometime when all our 2 leggedes are out of the house. My claws are getting pretty long so I am sure I can dial the phone. I want to talk to the stubbies too.
5:34 pm on February 27th, 2011
Herbals!…We here love that shit! Always have.…heh!…The clothes, the hair, the Stars, the jewelry, The Oscars!….wooooo!….Yes, I do agree that My Clarkson will one day be giving his acceptance speech, and his mother will no doubted embarrass him to death from the audience…heh!
5:40 pm on February 27th, 2011
Yup – his Mom and our Mama already have their embarrass factor all figured out – might as well be prepared for the inevitable.
5:42 pm on February 27th, 2011
Macy – Mama says she will be working on email later. Will drop your Mom a note.
5:53 pm on February 27th, 2011
Hey y’all! I’m back for just a few minutes — until Mom has to leave for her committee meeting. Luckily we just live around the corner from the church, so Mom doesn’t have to leave right away. Mom and Dad had a good time at the game — Mom took a picture of the game with her phone and sent it to my girl at Clemson. Then my girl called and said Mom and Dad are traitors. Then they broke the bad news to my girl — my boy isn’t having any luck finding a job, and since a lot of the listings want a college degree in addition to a paralegal degree, he applied to USC so he can finish his degree. My girl said, “Noooooooooo!” Since my boy started college at Clemson, it was hard for him to apply to their archrival — he says he’s going to have to get one of those “house divided” license plates all for himself!!!
6:14 pm on February 27th, 2011
Kirby!… I can see how hard it would be as a sports centered family to see the house divided…heh!…Luckily, me and her always agree on our sports teams and which players we like the best. Makes life so much easier…snorkel!
6:17 pm on February 27th, 2011
I won’t be watching the Oscars, but will be reading Rio’s comments. I have discovered that is the best way to get anything out of those Awards shows.
6:20 pm on February 27th, 2011
Oh dear, Justified…I am afraid to mention it. Rio was right…I do not like violence (I won’t see a movie unless it has a happy ending), but I do like the Justified show, probably as it is wonderful acting and great writing. Rio: That was Johnny Cash singing.
6:33 pm on February 27th, 2011
Mollie!…Thank you for sticking up for me and our beloved show. I knew you were like us and do not watch violence for the sake of violence. We love really good actors and really, really good dialog…snort!…Justified has both in abundance plus a firearm or two…heh!
6:37 pm on February 27th, 2011
Ryan!… He is interviewing all the big stars before the show right now as they arrive…heh!…He is so good at getting-all-the-info-he-can in a very short amount of time…snort!
6:41 pm on February 27th, 2011
Wooie!! A Kat and Pug fight!
6:47 pm on February 27th, 2011
Organized!….I have to say someone here is feeling very organized and happy about getting her laundry done and supper in the oven this early on a Sunday afternoon…heh!…Just in time to sit down and watch The Oscars tonight!…snort!… We have not seen ONE of the movies that have been nominated. This show helps us pick what we will order through Netflix this year….grunt!…The documentaries and foreign films that one doesn’t really hear much about, get some publicity on this night. We like watching those kind every now and then, so why not watch a winner or the runners up?….gruff!…Although, we have heard a lot of good stuff about Wasteland, which is a documentary and we want to see a clip from it. I hope I got the name right!….snort!
Melanie!…Where!? Where!?…snort!
6:54 pm on February 27th, 2011
Good thinking Wolfie, about the sidekick awards, i’d forgotten about that. Hey I really want to see a picture of Gus! I’m glad he’s your BFF now.
Thank you B for the link to the Van Gogh letters. What a site!
7:02 pm on February 27th, 2011
We are going to go watch the pre-Oscars and Oscars. Have to admit, we agree with Rio on this one. Haven’t seen any of the movies either, but we think King’s Speech will win a lot. Probalbly Black Swan, and The Kids are Alright too, for best actress.
Kirby, since you are a sports family, what do you think of that rabid fan that poisoned the trees down in Alabama?
7:06 pm on February 27th, 2011
Spacey!….We just caught a great interview with Kevin Spacey!…snort!….Apparently, he is part of the producers of The Social Network….grunt!….And he will be presenting one of the awards. We love that man no matter what he produces….wooo!
7:18 pm on February 27th, 2011
Their “McKey” and Your “Clarkson” snicker. I read that to YSAS he laughed. Too bad he was drinking ginger ale at the time.
Wölfie: It is wonderful when the little ones stop chewing on you! Of course, here in the Pack the 130 pounds younger generation are still chewing on the older ones.
Kevin Spacey is awesome.
7:25 pm on February 27th, 2011
Firth!…Colin has arrived!…heh!…This could be his night! Corgis and all….snort!…Lord help us all if that movie wins really big…yeeeee!
Melanie!…Is Clarkson watching The Oscars right now?…snort!
7:27 pm on February 27th, 2011
We just ran in to comment on Kevin S., Rio’s favorite, but you beat us to it. Back to the Big Os.
7:36 pm on February 27th, 2011
Rio: Here is a link to a review of Waste Land from the Guardian.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/film/2011/feb/27/waste-land-vik-muniz-review
Liz: You’re welcome. I love that site.
7:36 pm on February 27th, 2011
No Riö, the TV doesn’t get that channel. I’m not sure what it does get but the number of channels it receives can be counted on one hand.
7:41 pm on February 27th, 2011
B. Stover: Netflix has that DVD. Looks good.
Did you guys get a look at Baxter? He is one BIG dog! (Friends of Chet pics)
7:47 pm on February 27th, 2011
Jeez Louise, it’s only 7:45 and I’m going to bed. The plasterer is coming way to early, Dan is going for appointments, I’ve talked Zoë into letting a grandchild take him, and I have to stay away from fumes and dust.
It will be in and out for me tomorrow. I’m going to feel like some people with an job. Whoa.
Riö and all, I can’t wait to hear the comments on the Oscars. (I’m like Siber-H)
TTFN
7:50 pm on February 27th, 2011
We have a part time dog named Baxter, but he is not as big as the other Baxter.
It’s a long story, but he has been spending nights and weekends at our house for the last three years. His humans let him run wild, and at first we thought he was a stray. When we realized that he had a home, we thought we would be good neighbors and not let him inside. That lasted for about two nights, until we realized that he was sleeping outside our bedroom window in 20 degree weather. He has slept on our bed ever since. We love Baxter.
7:52 pm on February 27th, 2011
Two observations:
The ladies wear too much makeup, and the men need to shave.
There. That just proves that I am getting old!
7:58 pm on February 27th, 2011
OK Pugface – we hate to admit it, but so far we are with you. Kevin Spacey and Colin Firth are truly worthy of the sobriquet “star”. But people like Will Farrell? pleeze! And the ridiculousness of people like that Gaga woman??? OMG – makes us glad we’re KATS. You would NEVER see a Kat acting like that.
(a chihuahua maybe…but NEVER a Kat!)
8:02 pm on February 27th, 2011
The Baxter story does my heart good, Wolfie.
8:04 pm on February 27th, 2011
I saw The King’s Speech & it was great. Colin Firth did such a great job with the stutter. It was just a nice interesting movie. (No violence, car chases or serial killers)
8:10 pm on February 27th, 2011
I’m watching Miss Marple “They Do It With Mirrors” on a Canadian channel. So far it’s just like the novel.
8:11 pm on February 27th, 2011
Melanie!….It’s on channel KMGH (7 here), I’m sure he must be able to get that one, how sad if not….grunt!
8:15 pm on February 27th, 2011
Although I did like the car chase in one of the “Borne” movies.
8:35 pm on February 27th, 2011
Are you talking about Baxter or Dexter? Dexter was a very big dog, but we didn’t see Baxter.
8:44 pm on February 27th, 2011
Well, I’m talking about my Baxter. I think.
8:48 pm on February 27th, 2011
Hey y’all! I’m back — again!
B&M: About the plaster guy — I’ll tell Mom maybe she should try that! Or maybe we’ll let him have this summer to do it when he’s out of school, and if he doesn’t that can be his birthday present!
Oh, and the guy who poisoned the trees — completely looney! Mom has been trying to find out if he actually graduated from Alabama. None of the articles she’s read say whether he did or not. Mom and Dad have found that many of the rabidist (is that a word?) fans never even went to the school they cheer for! Mom found one article that says the guy named one of his daughters “Crimson Tyde” and his son “Bear Bryant.” He tried to name another daugher “Ally Bama,” but the mother wouldn’t let him. Where was she the other times???
8:56 pm on February 27th, 2011
Wolfie, I love you more and more! That’s so wonderful about your Baxter.
9:00 pm on February 27th, 2011
Kirk!… It was so great to see Kirk Douglas up on stage and having fun!…heh!….The Fighter has won best supporting actress…snorkel! …She is funny, didn’t catch her name though….sniff!
9:02 pm on February 27th, 2011
Awe, shucks, Miss Sam, you are so sweet.
(To be perfectly honest, he does hog the bed sometimes.)
9:05 pm on February 27th, 2011
B&M: Mom just found an article that says there’s no record that Harvey Updyke was ever a student at Alabama. See? The “worst” fans — those who consider themselves the “best” fans — are usually people who never even attended that school!!!
9:11 pm on February 27th, 2011
I think Melissa Leo is that actress’s name.
That girl, Crimson Tyde, is going to have the worst teenage years in the history of the world. Shallow end of the gene pool or what??
Go King’s Speech and Geoffrey Rush for supporting actor!
9:19 pm on February 27th, 2011
Wow!…Aaron Sorkin just won the award Adapted Best Screenplay for …cough!… The Social Network….snort!…But The Kings Speech won for Best Original Screenplay!…grunt!
9:22 pm on February 27th, 2011
Wolfie, that is a great story about Baxter. How do he and Gus get along. Any chance we could get a picture of the three of you together. Wookie
9:29 pm on February 27th, 2011
Yes, great story, Wolfie, and thank you Kirby for all those updates. That Updyke guy said he is not the least bit sorry. What are they charging him with?
9:34 pm on February 27th, 2011
Liz!…That crazy Aussie Christian Bale just won Best Supporting Actor….snort!
9:37 pm on February 27th, 2011
Good night all.
9:44 pm on February 27th, 2011
B&M: From what I can see, they’re charging him with criminal mischief. I looked it up, and the punishment for that varies from state to state — can be anything from community service and restitution (he has to plant two more 130-year-old trees?) to fines and a six-month sentence. Not sure what it would be in Alabama specifically. I’m not a big Auburn fan, but I am a fan of trees, so I’d throw the book at him!
(Mom refused to step foot in a drugstore here in town because they cut down a 100-plus-year-old tree when they put up the building. The place later went out of business. So there!)
9:44 pm on February 27th, 2011
He’s not an aussie!!!
Good night B.
Nice story about Baxter, Wolfie, it’s great that you guys look after him. Can you keep him full time?
9:55 pm on February 27th, 2011
We are done reading the blog and just dropped in to say goodnight all. Enjoy the last part of the Oscars.
9:56 pm on February 27th, 2011
Goodnight staff!
10:04 pm on February 27th, 2011
Liz!…What is he then?…heh!
Spacey!…He was just on and singing…snorkel!…Love, love, love…sniff!
10:06 pm on February 27th, 2011
Oooer!…He’s going to introduce all the songs that are nominated one by one….snort!…What a treat!…wuffle!
10:14 pm on February 27th, 2011
Rio – we thought you were going to be doing “color” commentary on the dresses, the speeches and the foolishness.
Sigh
We were looking forward to harrassing you….
10:22 pm on February 27th, 2011
He’s a pom! I might go see The Fighter this weekend, it’s supposed to be good. I saw Conviction last weekend, which wasn’t bad. Hillary Swank is always good.
10:28 pm on February 27th, 2011
Wha?…He’s a Pom?….heh!…What’s that supposed to mean…snork!…Billy Crystal is on now. What a guy!…sneeze!
10:29 pm on February 27th, 2011
LizF – we would love to keep Baxter full time. But he feels a need to go home to his daytime home everyday.
10:30 pm on February 27th, 2011
Hi Liz – forgive us our ignorance, but what the heck is a “pom”?
10:36 pm on February 27th, 2011
A pom = an English person, a pommie. You’re forgiven, herbs, i can’t imagine why you would have known that!
I love Billy Crystal. He was such a good Oscar host. How are the hosts doing, do you think?
10:41 pm on February 27th, 2011
Hosts!…Doing okay, no flubs, but kind of Boring for some reason…heh!…I like her, but he just has to go away….sniff!
10:43 pm on February 27th, 2011
Jennifer!….Hudson looks absolutely amazing!…snort!…I mean we watched her on American Idol and she was a big gal, with a big voice…gasp!…Now she is a beauty and in a very small body…wow! …I hope she can still sing as well…sniff!
10:44 pm on February 27th, 2011
Maybe they’re over-compensating after Ricky Gervaise was so outrageous at the GGs!
10:45 pm on February 27th, 2011
Oooooooh. crap.
10:48 pm on February 27th, 2011
Ricky!… I like Ricky, honest and cutting. Bleeding happens…snort!…Boring sucks…yawn!
10:49 pm on February 27th, 2011
I like Ricky too. Not sure that TV bosses like Ricky…
10:52 pm on February 27th, 2011
I think Christian Bale is English.
10:54 pm on February 27th, 2011
Oh Goodie!…Now the Marketing Agent is posting for Chet on Facebook and putting it here on “Chets” blog…gah!…What a bunch of Bull-Own-Eeeeeee!…snort!
10:54 pm on February 27th, 2011
Ricky G is not our favorite. You can be funny without being mean and crude can’t you?

Thanks Liz- we were letting our imaginations get the better of us. We were thinking:
Pomegranate?
Pomeranian?
PomPom?
Pompous Idiot?
So, now we know. Except we don’t know WHY an English person is a pom….
And you know, curiosity is very very bad for us Kats….

I know it is! and I wish I had an answer for you. Let’s go with Pompous Idiot, for now…

Sad!… When they show all the great performers who have died over the last year…sniff!…We here always cry…sob!….My friend says she stood right beside Dennis Hopper one afternoon while they were both checking into a hotel in Glenwood Springs…snort!…She says he smelt amazingly wonderful and he was kind of short. But doesn’t hold that against him as a great actor…snorkel!…She is feeling very sad about his passing last year. (again)…sigh..

Thanks for explaining a Pom, Liz.
Rio, Bob Hope was funny and Billy Crystal is funny, and we think one of the best hosts ever. Why doesn’t he do it anymore?
The Oscars are supposed to be a big honor and I don’t think you want someone who is totally irreverent to be hosting it. Ricky G. is ok as a standup or maybe hosting a roast. Just our opinion.

That’s a good point, B&M.
So who’s winning what? Any news?

MagPie!…Of course you don’t like Ricky….heh!

I’m curious about what he smelled like!
11:28 pm on February 27th, 2011
If it was amazing, it must have been catnip…yippeee!!

Hey Liz – look what we found:
Pommie – A derogatory term started by Australians to describe recent British immigrants. There is no proof that it had to do with the acronym Prisoners of Her Majesty. It is more likely that it was an abbreviation of the word pomegranate and referred to the flush complexion of Brits (like a pomegranate’s flesh) or it was chosen to rhyme with immigrant
Whew – now we are safe from that dreaded curiosity.
And we think its funny as all heck that Rio double posted.
Remember Rio – its read, refresh and write!
giggle

Hey, very good research, B&S! Thanks. Your curiosity is very productive.
Go Colin.

It is always so sad when they show the people that have died. I am glad Colin Firth won. I am not impressed with the hosts, I liked Billy Crystal.

Mama wouldn’t let the Corgis go to accept their award on their cousins behalf. She said they can’t stay up that late.
And neither can we….good night all…
Macy -keep your head down….and sleep in the bathtub. (Mama had to do that in Oklahoma)
