OK, Chet. I'll give you this one. Especially since I want to make sure Spence is bright-eyed and bushy-tailed for tomorrow's appearance!
3:16 am on September 3rd, 2010
Have a great wööfing time, Chet, Bernie, Admin, PSQA! Hope you meet someone special. Keep a look out for those name tags!
Picture of what they "think" "might" be Earl's path.

YSAS will be having 55 miles an hour winds and lots of rain. High waves and high surge. What's he and OS going to do? Go to a birthday party within walking distance!
He's north of Boston.
Oh one more picture. This is OTAS's SO hooping at night. He made her a hoop with lights.

Riö; make sure you read the pink message under the non-post . . .
Spencer Quinn is at 5:30 pm and Peter Abrahams at noon.
ADMIN WANTS TO KNOW IF THERE SHOULD BE DIFFERENT . . .wait for it . . . COSTUMES!
Oh, joy, Oh rapture (now I'm going to be singing G&S all day) how should we ask them to dress????
Must ponder while picking up poop.
3:27 am on September 3rd, 2010
Wow, Melanie! That's a cool picture!
3:36 am on September 3rd, 2010
Despite the usual thoughts of hurricanes in the Gulf and the southern Atlantic coast, Mom and Dad's worst experience with a hurricane was in Massachusetts! We've had several hurricanes hit along the SC coast, but for us it's mostly been a big rainstorm — the "big one" in these parts was Hurricane Hugo, but that hit before Mom and Dad moved here. But when they were stationed up at Fort Devens, just outside Boston, Hurricane Gloria hit in 1985. It knocked down a tree in their backyard and took out their fence, plus the electricity was out for a couple of days. Luckily, the post people took care of the tree, plus Fort Devens housed the Army's "antenna farm," so getting the electricity back up and running was a priority! The rest of the area was without electricity for several days longer.

Melanie: In honor of the latest book being set at a circus, SQ could wear a clown costume to his appearance. Since PA doesn't have a new Echo Falls book coming out, he could choose from any of the first three. A rabbit costume for Down the Rabbit Hole? Leiderhosen for Into the Dark? Or, since Rio is so fond of calling him pointy-headed, perhaps the Tin Man for Behind the Curtain?!
4:12 am on September 3rd, 2010
Kirby: Thanks for the late night updates on the ball game. The good guys won for a change.
Melanie: I thought the hooper was the hurricane. Nice. Here's hoping Dan had a good night.
Spence?PA: Did you lose your red checked shirt?
4:15 am on September 3rd, 2010
Hi Chet. I hope Spence and Admin have a safe trip and a good turn out.
Kirby: I hope you and your folks have a safe trip and have fun at the conference.
Melanie: What is G&S?
PA could wear a Robin Hood outfit.
4:19 am on September 3rd, 2010
Melanie – What song is G&S?
I am prayerful that Dan is on the mend.
4:21 am on September 3rd, 2010
Hey, maybe hoops with lights could be a whole new career for your youngun! Mom wants one!
The picture is very pretty.
4:23 am on September 3rd, 2010
BAD NEWS! I just overheard Mom and Dad talking in the kitchen. Mom was wondering how to break it to me that she's not taking me to the book festival! Dad said she just had, but Mom said I was too busy smelling the kat's…er, hindquarters to have heard. Has she never heard of multitasking!!! Anyway, she says she's staying with a friend of a friend, and she doesn't feel right asking if she can bring me with her. Plus she says she doesn't know how welcome I'd be at the festival. Not welcome! What the heck is she talking about?! Everyone loves me!!! So now I don't get to meet SQ and PA! Sob!!! I'm stuck here with Dad, who's just going to leave me here with my boy while he goes off to coach football on Saturday. Not fair, just not fair!!!
4:28 am on September 3rd, 2010
BStover,
Gilbert and Sullivan and aren't you embarrassed that you didn't catch that hint? "Oh Joy oh rapture". From the Pirates of Penzance I believe. (It is my favorite) Especially the policemen.
4:29 am on September 3rd, 2010
Kirby – you tell your mom that Wolfie says that Spence would love to meet you!! And besides, if people start throwing things, Spence may need protection!!
On the positive side, maybe your mom will take lots of pictures!
4:31 am on September 3rd, 2010
Whoo-Hoo!
My boys are playing their first football game tonight!
They are going to be awesome, I just know it!
Go Badgers!!!!!!
4:37 am on September 3rd, 2010
The question of Spencer and Peter's costume is an interesting one.
I believe Fatty Kitty is sleeping on the red checked shirt so it must be 'dead'. Or at any rate not available in this dimension. I don't think FK will give it back.
I have to admit I think he/they should just dress 'normally'…(assuming he/they are normal.)
Giving up on the he/they stuff
However if he wanders out to his writing area in his pajamas (like Dave Barry) then he shouldn't dress 'normally'.
4:52 am on September 3rd, 2010
Staff: I'm not embarrassed because I've never seen (or heard) the Pirates of Penzance or anything else by G&S except the Mikado. So…I also don't understand the connection: Why did costumes bring that to Melanie's mind?
4:54 am on September 3rd, 2010
Wolfie: I wish your boys good luck.
5:03 am on September 3rd, 2010
My Girl came back! Oh joy oh rapture! She hugged me and hugged me so much. Mom told me about the guys in the suits and said she wanted to take a picture but was afraid they would take her camera.
5:04 am on September 3rd, 2010
BStover,
That is a difficult question. It requires us to know Melanie's mind.
I think she will have to answer that one.
5:24 am on September 3rd, 2010
When I was young we had records (yes, the vinyl stuff) of Gilbert & Sullivan's operettas.
'Oh, Joy, Oh Rapture," is spoken by the lovers in the HMS Pinafore and then the following is sung.
Oh joy, oh rapture unforeseen,
The clouded sky is now serene,
The god of day — the orb of love,
Has hung his ensign high above,
The sky is all ablaze.
So in our house the words Oh, joy, Oh, Rapture can stand for "Hotdiggity" "Wonderful" and so on.
I tried to find the song on audio but they only wanted me to buy the cell phone ring.
We also have memorized most of the Bill Cosby's routines and can break each other up saying, "come around you idiot, come around,"
Knowing my Mind?? An interesting concept. Sometimes I think I'm just channeling things I've heard over the years.
5:25 am on September 3rd, 2010
Sam's girl came back safe!! Glad their phone wasn't taken.
I sort of like the tin man idea. Then if PA needs to gather his thoughts, he could stop for a moment and oil his knees and elbows.
5:30 am on September 3rd, 2010
SQ/PA can have the shirt back but it's covered in fur. And first the Librarian has to drive to Whitefish Montana to get it. It's in the rag bag. Soooo, I think that a new flannel shirt is in order (at least red-checked always means flannel to us westerners – don't know about you dudes).
5:36 am on September 3rd, 2010
Melanie – when I'm stuck in traffic, come around you idiot, come around, still pops into my head. LOL
5:44 am on September 3rd, 2010
Thanks Melanie. Hey Bluecat.
5:45 am on September 3rd, 2010
Sam, I am glad your family got home safe, and it was a wise decision not to take any pictures.
Kirby, I'm sure Spence would love to meet you, but my mom is the same way about not imposing. Of course, at that point, I would just explain to her how we could sleep in the truck.
Wolfie, good luck to your boys tonight. I hope their team wins!
5:48 am on September 3rd, 2010
Kirby!…. Oh NO! Say it isn’t SO!…crap!… Now we will never know if Spence or The Charming Mr. Abrahams is the better Patter… grunt!
Seriously! …..Costumes?….We all know Spence will probably spill something on himself so he needs multiple outfits no matter what!… Mr. Abrahams will probably show up in his tennis whites…. Heh!
5:50 am on September 3rd, 2010
Bluecat!! My boys discovered some old cassette tapes of Bill and they asked if I had ever heard of him and then they turned it on. "Why is the air?" and I said, "There's air to blow up basketballs . ."
They also did the same thing with this great song called "Stairway to Heaven." I started singing that . . . they thought I was older than dirt!
Now they think I'm younger as they are getting older!
5:51 am on September 3rd, 2010
SiberH!…First time I read your post I thought you said ‘Trunk’ instead of ‘Truck’!…snort! heh!heh!… I thought Trunk was funnier…snort!
6:07 am on September 3rd, 2010
Tee hee! I just got back at Mom for leaving me behind — I peed in her suitcase!!! That'll show her!
6:13 am on September 3rd, 2010
I still think the best Bill Cosby routine ever was Noah and the Lord. (R-i-i-ight …!) I understand that my dad and his friend actually performed that as a dramatic reading in his ninth grade speech class; it was a terrific hit although the line about Noah being under the pregnant elephant with no manual for instruction may have been a bit risque at the time for ninth grade.
Speaking of costumes and Georgia though, the funniest costume routine ever was done by Carol Burnett on her television show, when she portrayed Scarlett Ohara in a parody of Gone With the Wind (I think they called the skit "Went With the Wind"). Scarlett had made a gown out of the curtains at Tara for the ball, but unfortunately she failed to remove the curtain rod from the curtains, so the curtain rod basically served as the should pads for the gown as she wore it. Fall down hilariously funny, it was. Wookie the reminiscer
6:16 am on September 3rd, 2010
I'm hoping that Kirby is kidding but I am laughing a lot.
6:17 am on September 3rd, 2010
Wookie!….I’ve seen that skit, “Went With the Wind”… It is one of the funniest things ever made!… snort!… I don’t know how they kept a straight face during the show….heh!
6:31 am on September 3rd, 2010
OMG we are all the same era. Come around you idiot comes to my mind often.
BStover, I figured you must know G&S but maybe you are into 'real' opera. My Dad is a G&S fan and we go to The Gilbert and Sullivan Very Light Opera Company performance in Minneapolis every Spring. It has been a while since I saw Pirates though. However I have the Linda Ronstadt version on vinyl so I know it well.
I just looked them up and they are doing Pirates this coming year! YAAAAY!!
6:32 am on September 3rd, 2010
From Kirby's Mom: Bee, I wish I could tell you he was kidding, but he wasn't! I'm taking an overnight bag with me to Georgia, and I just left it on the floor in my bedroom. He "christened" it. So now it's been liberally sprayed with pet smell remover and is airing out. I'm afraid Kirby isn't real high on my list of favorites right now!
6:40 am on September 3rd, 2010
Kirby!…A guy after my own heart!… snort!snort!…Good job pal – that will teach her to leave you behind on this historic trip!… grunt! …I really wanted a photo of you and Spencer together… heh!
6:45 am on September 3rd, 2010
Sorry Kirby's mom but I'm still laughing. Have a good trip by the way.
Staff: I do NOT like opera. I used to go one week every year when the NYMet came to Detroit. I went with three Italian sisters and it was fun watching them delight in the operas and then discussing them over late Italian dinners. But opera is not for me.
6:54 am on September 3rd, 2010
From Kirby's Mom: That's OK, Bee. If I weren't the one with the stinky suitcase, I'd be laughing too. In fact, I can see "dining out" on this story in the future. Just not today!
6:55 am on September 3rd, 2010
Peeing on something is the best way for dog to make a political statement. Way to go, Kirby!
6:57 am on September 3rd, 2010
uh, I am suppose to add that my mom has sympathy for Kirby's mom.
6:57 am on September 3rd, 2010
Kirby's mom: Actually I think that Kirby is showing you how much he loves you….He knows something is up and he doesn't want you to leave. (Of course, he's also disappointed that he can't go.)
6:59 am on September 3rd, 2010
SiberH: Thanks! Oh, and my mom says to thank your mom!
7:03 am on September 3rd, 2010
I used to be staff to a cat (Emily the Cat) who was wonderful in many ways. She was, however, very fussy about her litter box. Once I was out of litter to change it and I asked Mr Staff to go get some. He waited. Then a few hours later when he was ready to go he discovered that someone had pooped in his gym bag. Hmmmmm
Emily's motto was "Poop is Power"

It's good to be back in my own beddie-bye. I had a nice time with Sam, but she is very demanding.
We think Siber-H was right about the Middle East guys being across the street from our Moms and Girl. Mom said when they got to 29th street, the police had it closed off so they went around using the GPS, made a couple of wrong turns, and when they came to the other end of the block, it was closed off too. Sam's Mom lit into the secret service guy and told him that at this point she was a crazy woman and they had better let her go down the block. Wow! They're nice guys but for 2 days as we went in and out, they asked for ID each time.
7:11 am on September 3rd, 2010
LOL with all the peeing and pooping.
Speaking of which, Wöökie . . .
" . . have you looked down there? Who's going to clean up that mess down there . ."
Clap of thunder, rain!
7:12 am on September 3rd, 2010
Kirby – You must be so disappointed about not going. I like your way of protesting.
Go Badgers!
7:18 am on September 3rd, 2010
Wolfie: By the way, I was so busy plotting my revenge on Mom that I forgot to tell you to wish your boys good luck for me. We're a big sports family — my boy played football and soccer; my girl played basketball, volleyball and soccer; and my dad coaches football and basketball. My mom does a lot of watching. I used to go to football practice with my dad — until the unfortunate airport hanger incident — and I can tell you it's lots of fun, with guys throwing balls and running all over. I hope your boys have lots of fun — and remember, it's not if you win or lose, but how you play the game. (But winning is lots more fun!)
7:19 am on September 3rd, 2010
Badgers are Number !
Kirby, so sorry you can't make it. . . How is your Dad's chipped tooth?
Perhaps your mom should take a picture of it and show it to Spencer, maybe he'll get an extra role in our blog story!
7:24 am on September 3rd, 2010
Mollypop: Thanks, and welcome home! I guess that's the one good thing about not going on this trip — I get to sleep in my own bed. (But don't tell Mom that — I want her to think I'm totally disappointed!) I know what you mean about being demanding. Sometimes my girl's dogs come to visit, and they're fun for about 5 minutes, then they're overwhelming! Give me good ol' sedate Buford anytime!
7:26 am on September 3rd, 2010
Melanie: "Two mosquitos, male and female. And I had to keep telling the rabbits, two, only two." And "what's a cubit?" Wookie
7:28 am on September 3rd, 2010
Melanie: I'm not sure what you mean by Dad's chipped tooth — maybe you're thinking of someone else? Dad had what he thought was a sore tooth once, but it turned out to be an infected saliva gland. He couldn't eat for days. There's someone else on the blog who has a football coach in the family who broke a tooth tearing tape — I can't think of who it is, but it that what you mean?
7:52 am on September 3rd, 2010
I thought someone's Dad who was a coach had a chipped tooth. Maybe I'm dreaming. .
Wöökie; "why don't you just let it rain for 40 days and 40 nights and let the sewers back up?" "Riiggghhht"
7:58 am on September 3rd, 2010
Welcome home Mollypop. (I think that the secret service guys had to ask for id each time…protocol.)
8:13 am on September 3rd, 2010
Young!… One time I was begging and begging for a treat … snort!… She didn’t give it to me quick enough so I pee’d on the carpet out of spite!…grunt!… She picked me up and threw me outside in a snow drift!… snag!…No treat either…grump!… I've grown up since then…
8:15 am on September 3rd, 2010
What do you now grab the treat while she's throwing you out into the drift?
9:18 am on September 3rd, 2010
Snort!… Melanie!…heh!… I don’t pee in plain sight anymore…chorkel!
9:29 am on September 3rd, 2010
Ahhh, the old "where is that smell coming from?" trick.
9:34 am on September 3rd, 2010
Yup!… And she’s under the strange impression that if she doesn’t catch me in the act, she can’t punish me…. snort!… How great is that? …snicker!
9:36 am on September 3rd, 2010
Why? Is there someone else in the house who might be peeing in a strange place?
9:46 am on September 3rd, 2010
Kirby!… Not that I’ve seen or smelt… snuff!… I think she thinks I won’t realize what she is punishing me for if she just starts yelling at me one day after she’s turned that potted plant around… heh!heh!
9:47 am on September 3rd, 2010
Don't you just love the modern dog training methods. We are never at fault.
10:07 am on September 3rd, 2010
Not around here! There're another dog and two cats, but they still seem to know when it's my fault!
10:11 am on September 3rd, 2010
Melanie, I know someone on the blog is a coach and recently chipped his tooth, so you are not loosing it.
How is Dan today?
Also, can you explain what hooping is?
10:34 am on September 3rd, 2010
Hula Hooping, I believe. But nobody uses the "Hula" part anymore.
10:45 am on September 3rd, 2010
Right FK. Also the hoops are larger than they used to be.
Dan took a small step forward today. Wasn't walking mind you, but instead of going downhill, he's doing small improvements.
Steroids tonight to try and loosen stuff up in his chest.
Keep paws crossed!
10:48 am on September 3rd, 2010
I think it's Wolfie's Dad who broke his tooth tearing tape.
Mom said those secret service guys asked over and over again which colleges we had visited. They sounded like they were just being friendly, but we know that's what they pretend so they can tell if we're suicide bombers or not.
Melanie – How is Dan doing?
10:51 am on September 3rd, 2010
I must be psychic (or psychotic) because I got my answer before I asked my question. Ha ha.
10:55 am on September 3rd, 2010
Molly!…The latter…snort!
11:03 am on September 3rd, 2010
Kirby!.. Is your gal the kind that is on time?…snort!… Will she show up right at Noon tomorrow to meet the Charming Mr. Abrahams?….grunt!…And at 5:00 to meet Spence?? I will be here thinking of her at those two times tomorrow (MST of course)… sneeze!
11:20 am on September 3rd, 2010
Wow!… I just caught up on last night’s Tiger vs Twins highlights!… Kirby!… You did a great job announcing the extra innings. My prediction came true! Tigers won!…Woooo!…Those Twins need to go Down, Down, Down!…snort!
Book Fair!… Wouldn’t it be funny if Spencer is left handed and The Charming Mr. Abrahams is right handed…heh!… Kirby be sure your gals camera is charged and working properly!….sniff!
11:33 am on September 3rd, 2010
Rio, are we sure Spence is going to get there? They have suspended Amtrack trains between NYC and Boston. Will planes be able to fly out of Boston? Cripe, I don't know anything about having to deal with a hurricane.
We have no weather here. We got an inch and a third of rain last week all at once. That was a really big deal and probably our weather event for the year.
Molly, I imagine the Suits were glad to have some nice ladies to talk to. Their job must be incredibly boring.
11:44 am on September 3rd, 2010
Rio: If you use Mountain Time to think about Kirby's gal tomorrow, you'll be two hours late each time.
12:17 pm on September 3rd, 2010
Stover!… How right you are!…snort!… I will use EST instead…golly!
12:43 pm on September 3rd, 2010
My dad has the broken tooth! It is so embarrassing! He's been to the dentist once, and goes back on the 8th. I'm sure it will cost a kings ransom in chicken jerky treats! Dad doesn't care, he is just loving football and is having fun coaching my boys!
I hope that Dan is ok.
12:44 pm on September 3rd, 2010
Eastern Daylight Savings Time…..I'm just being irritating.
1:26 pm on September 3rd, 2010
Wolfie, I think we have all learned a lesson from your dad's mishap…use a knife or scissors when trying to cut tape. You should see some of the dumb things I've seen my mom do, but those are stories for another time.
1:34 pm on September 3rd, 2010
Kirby, I love the revenge thing. Of course, as a lady and a princess I could never resort to that, but i like your spirit. EEwww, Holly just sneezed all over me.
2:06 pm on September 3rd, 2010
I went out for my evening walk and talked to Redfield (a horse) and his rider. Redfield is going to be cutting cattle tomorrow.
I then came home and the Pack wouldn't leave me alone. It was like I was the nucleus of an amoeba. Difficult walking around though. They really liked Redfield's smell.
2:19 pm on September 3rd, 2010
Rio: Mom is the kind that tends to be late, but if something is really important, she can push herself to be on time. Of course, I don't know how important she considers SQ and PA….
Actually, the first event she wants to go to is a children's event at 10 a.m., and according to Mapquest it'll take her about 4 hours to get there from here, so she's planning to leave at least by 5 a.m. in order to give herself some wiggle room. The children's events are supposed to be over at 11:30 (although she wants to get some books signed, not sure how long that will take), and it looks like it's about a block from the children's thing to PA's thing, so she should be OK. I hope!
Then there are a few small things she might drop in on. And then again, maybe she'll just mosey around all the booths they're setting up around the venues. In any case, she'll be sure to be at the Decatur Conference Center at 5:30 for SQ.
2:21 pm on September 3rd, 2010
SiberH: Mom has been checking the cancellations section of the book festival website, just making sure SQ and PA are both still on the schedule. So far, so good!
Macy: Thanks! I'm glad you liked my little punishment! Mom still has her bag out on the porch airing out. I hate to tell her, but when Kirby T. Penworthy marks a bag, it stays marked!!!
2:34 pm on September 3rd, 2010
GOOD LUCK, KIRBY's MOM!
2:35 pm on September 3rd, 2010
Melanie, Is Redfield a Quarter Horse? I would think being out east, you would encounter more dressage and hunter/jumper type horses. Rio and Siber live more in the areas of cutting horses. Tell us more about Redfield.
2:47 pm on September 3rd, 2010
Well, Redfield is a trained cow horse, but he is not a quarter horse. He's a mutt. (snicker, I have no idea what they call horses that are mutts). He's very good. My neighbor bought him when she was doing jumping and dressage with an older horse, Q, but Q was getting too old for competition.
Though YSAS learned how to canter on Q. He said it was like being in a rocking chair.
Back to Redfield, my neighbor tried the cow cutting once and fell in love with it. She and Redfield are an item in this area. She said she had to train herself not Redfield.
He's a roan around 11 years old. (Q was 22 when he died two years ago) He's very intelligent and has beautiful eyes.
I just have to be careful not to call him Renfield. I don't believe he eats flies and spiders!
2:52 pm on September 3rd, 2010
We know some people out here that do cutting and team penning. Team penning is sort of like a herding event, but instead of dogs putting sheep or goats into a pen, you have teams of people on horses that put calves into pens. The horses are really well trained, not sure about the people.
2:54 pm on September 3rd, 2010
I'm not sure any of us people are trained . . .
Hitting the bed early. Can feel the pressure changes from Earl. Going to limp up the stairs, give Patsy a treat and READ!
3:06 pm on September 3rd, 2010
Thanks, Kirby…We want both your mom and Spence to get to the Book Festival. Wish we'd have a Book Festival here.
Redfield–horse
Renfield–Dracula That was mom's favorite book when she around 12 years old.
3:07 pm on September 3rd, 2010
Good night, Melanie. Hope tomorrow is a good day for Dan.
3:08 pm on September 3rd, 2010
Have a good sleep Melanie. Hope your purple cane is doing it's job! Some people plunder on and others hobble on. heh heh
Go Badgers! Hope those boys have a good time.
Kirby's Mom, Hope you have a wonderful time at the book fair. Report ASAP.
Staff
3:33 pm on September 3rd, 2010
Sheep!….Are you guys talking about the movie Babe?….snort!…All this talk of cutting and penning sheep and other stuff…sniff!
Kirby! You Rule as the Christening King of Travel Bags!…heh!heh!
3:46 pm on September 3rd, 2010
Food!…We are watching the most stupid show that Food Network has come up with yet!!…snort!… Called “The Great Food Race”, not even unique in concept! …cough!…All these guys in Food Trucks and one in a Tool Shed are racing across the country to make the most money selling their brand of Food Truck Food in different cities… smack! … It does get interesting as it goes on…but Really, does she really need to watch another Foodie show….wheeze!…Whatever keeps us from our vigorous walk is okay with me I guess…snuffle! …Oh the reason we stayed with the show is because there are two Frenchmen in a Truck called, “Spencer On the Go”… They serve up French cuisine in a Food Truck….heh!
Rockies!… Not on till much later…dammit!
3:54 pm on September 3rd, 2010
Sat. and Sun. the Rockies games are in the afternoon…Yippie!
3:57 pm on September 3rd, 2010
Plunder on, Dan.
We are living in Cowboy land here. People have ranches, and do all that cowboy stuff on horses. The Librarian was the object of much amazement when she admitted she had never been to a single rodeo. I'll bet she'd go to a dog or cat show though!
4:08 pm on September 3rd, 2010
Hey!… Now the Food Trucks are leaving Sante Fe, New Mexico – SiberH country and going to Fort Worth, Texas – Min Pin country!…heh!….”Spencer On the Go” has made it through 2 challenges so far…Kirby, you need to check this ridiculous thing out!…heh! snort!
Cowboys!…We live in Cowboy City and we have never been to a rodeo either…snort!…That's the way we like it too!..sniff!
4:12 pm on September 3rd, 2010
If that program were live, I could hijack some food.
4:27 pm on September 3rd, 2010
The Rangers and the Twins are playing a series. Those should be good games. Detroit is losing to KC.
4:44 pm on September 3rd, 2010
SiberH!…Amazingly, their food does look very good!… snort!… It was cold and almost snowing in New Mexico during this show, so I have to believe it was shot months and months ago…heh!
4:45 pm on September 3rd, 2010
Rio: Mom and Dad have watched that show a couple times. Dad mostly seems to be rooting against instead of for — he's not fond of the French guys! (Sorry Spencer et al!) Mom doesn't care too much — not her favorite show.
Dad was really looking forward to Gordon Ramsey's new show about the Master Chef, but he watched it once and didn't like it, so we've never watched it again.
4:59 pm on September 3rd, 2010
On their trip Mom said the heat was beyond belief – like almost 100 degrees. The hottest we have ever recorded in Buffalo is 98. This must be hot like SiberH gets.
They said the food was exceptional. I did really well with Daddy but they don't know that.
5:01 pm on September 3rd, 2010
Mom just checked the cancellation page — still no word from SQ/PA. Paws crossed!
5:03 pm on September 3rd, 2010
Kirby!… Shouldn’t you and someone else be in bed by NOW!?… You’ve got a long drive tomorrow and a lot of excitement ahead of you tomorrow!… snort!… Don’t let your Gal over-sleep and get a late start! …grunt!… And please do sneak into the car before she leaves as planned!…snicker!
Food Trucks!…We will probably add that to our list of dumb shows to watch when we are very tired…heh!
5:13 pm on September 3rd, 2010
Sam, it does get that hot here, but it is a dry heat. 100 degrees where you were must have been awful because of the humidity. 100 degress here is bad, but not as bad as what you experienced. Mom and I would just probably keel over in 100 degrees with humidity.
5:16 pm on September 3rd, 2010
Detroit and KC are now 4-4.
5:23 pm on September 3rd, 2010
Humidity!…Killer stuff! Gags me when it’s like 40 or 50% here after that, I am literally drowning…ugh!…Dry heat is the only way to live, SiberH and I are telling you so!…Kirby she is still UP!… MAKE HER GO TO BED!!!…sniff!…Although if we were in the same position and meeting those guys tomorrow, we’d still be up too excited to sleep!…heh!
Rockies!…They are finally playing ball!…whooooo!…Must Win!Must Win! Must Win!…snuff.
5:29 pm on September 3rd, 2010
Tired!… We are very tired tonight and not sure how long we will last…snort!… So I want to say one last thing to Kirby to relate to his gal for tomorrow….cough!… Please ask Spencer if he enjoys reading the Blog! … gruff!… Please ask The Charming Mr. Abrahams what he feels about Pugs (maybe one in particular)…heh!….Thanks Kirby!!!…sniffle
5:32 pm on September 3rd, 2010
My Mom was fine in the steambath, but Aunt Mollysmom was cooked. So now B. is sending us a cold front with rain and 68 degrees. What the heck? what's so important for this weekend is our Chicken Wing Festival. Not Buffalo wings, they're chicken wings. Duh.
5:41 pm on September 3rd, 2010
Finished. It was the best one yet.
5:41 pm on September 3rd, 2010
Going to bed now.

Wolfie: Did your boys enjoy the football game tonight?
Wookie: Loved Carol Burnett descending the grand staircase in her gown made from the draperies with the curtain rod still attached. Genius!
Melanie: Laughing picturing you at the center of all those Newfs smelling horse. Hard to walk indeed. Dan is on the one step at a time program.
Tigers tied 5-5, top of the ninth.
5:44 pm on September 3rd, 2010
We're getting ready to pull the plug now. So goodnight to y'all. We'll report about our visit when we can. I'm going to try to sneak into the car like Rio suggested, but since it's a small one, I'm not sure I'll be able to pull it off. Too bad I can't blur!!! Just in case, I'll pass the questions to Mom.
5:48 pm on September 3rd, 2010
Goodnight Kirby. Sorry you have to stay home tomorrow.
5:51 pm on September 3rd, 2010
Kirby, Make a statement in the morning…PEE on the tire!
5:54 pm on September 3rd, 2010
Kirby!… Thanks so much Pal!…Wish you were going along…sniff!…I will be thinking of your gal tomorrow all day long! Waiting with baited breath for her to update us all on the festival and the Meeting and Greeting part!…Wow!…This is way better than trying to hack into a Twitter interview like earlier this year with Cosmo’s mom and Melanie! …HOOO!…Remember that day??? That was sort of our very first Mission! …sigh, All good memories though!…wheeze!…All good memories for sure.
6:01 pm on September 3rd, 2010
Did you guys catch what Staff said…she finished the book and it was the best one yet. Can hardly wait for it now that the time is getting so close.
6:05 pm on September 3rd, 2010
Staff!…. I thought she finished the Quilt and it was the Best One Yet!…snort!… Maybe it was one of those pineapple tomatoes on toast she finished and it was the Best One Yet?… sniff!
Staff!…What did you finish and what was the Best One Yet!???…snorkel… I bet she is glad we are doing the Quilt right now for some reason…heh!
6:08 pm on September 3rd, 2010
lol Staff has gone to bed now and we won't know for sure what she finished until tomorrow.
6:14 pm on September 3rd, 2010
Siber H: I didn't know what Staff was talking about. Of course it was TFAT. Oh that lucky woman.
Tigers are in to extra innings again. Your Rockies are working on a shut out and the Twins leading Texas by 1 run (but just left 3 runners on base).
6:19 pm on September 3rd, 2010
I wondered what she had finished too. And I was thinking tomatoes. Hmmm, I bet SH figured it out. He's a spy, right?
6:21 pm on September 3rd, 2010
SiberH!… I actually trust your first instinct and think she finished the book and is crying her eyes out right now… sniffle!… This third book is going to Knock the Socks off of every thing else out there just because our Author is the best ever!… gruff!
PS!!!!!… Rockies are up 4 – 0 over the Padres in San Diego! ….Yup!… It’s true! Uh Huh ! Uh Huh!
6:29 pm on September 3rd, 2010
Fatty!…SiberH is one of my Best Agents!… snort!… And very good friend too! He does not do the Publicity Profiling that ‘00Wookie’ does (yet!).. sneeze!… He and Rockie do a lot of the prelim work necessary for a successful Mission Trip!…grunt! …Couldn’t live without him!
6:38 pm on September 3rd, 2010
HAAAA!… I personally just witnessed Giambi “dive” to a plate to save a run ….heh!…Good job my man!…Wooooooo!
6:39 pm on September 3rd, 2010
Rio, you may live in Cowboy City, but we are from the Real Cowtown, Fort Worth. There is an actual cattle drive in the stockyards everyday.
Yikes, the twins are up 4-3, top of the 9th. I am keeping my paws over my eyes until it is over.
Kirby, you will at least get to smell SQ on your gal. Mmmmmm, spencer quinn!
Of course she finished the book. Did Wookie finish his?
One out, snerf.
6:41 pm on September 3rd, 2010
Staff: No more looking forward to Doctor's appointments.
Detroit Tigers win two in a row.
6:42 pm on September 3rd, 2010
Thanks Rio…We couldn't live without you on this blog either, and Kirby's mom does not need to ask Spence how he feels about a certain little pug, because I'm sure he feels the same way we all do. We love you.
ok, I am going to take a chance now that the Rockies will be fine without me and go to sleep.
Hope Dan is improving. Hope Kirby's mom has a safe trip. Hope Cape Cod makes it through the storm ok. Thinking of you Audrey. Good Night Friends!
p.s. How long do I have to keep working with THAT squirrel?
6:43 pm on September 3rd, 2010
Stoopid designated hitter. Out 2. High fly. Out 3. snerts

6:43 pm on September 3rd, 2010
Oops, designated runner.
7:02 pm on September 3rd, 2010
SiberH!… HA!…( and I never laugh especially when the Rockies are BLOWING IT)… But, yes, afraid you and Rockie The Under Cover Squirrel will have to ‘occasionally’ work together during Pre-Mission strategy….grunt!… Part of being an Agent Pal….snuff!…Please do not Kill the Squirrel!!!…snort!!
7:04 pm on September 3rd, 2010
SiberH!…Did you get the secret message on the secret messaging device that I sent you earlier today??? …sniff!
7:08 pm on September 3rd, 2010
Min Pin!… Haven’t seen you around in your little Pink Car lately….sniff!… Have you gone back to Texas my dear???…gruff!
11:39 pm on September 3rd, 2010
From Kirby's Mom: I'm off to Georgia for the big festival. I'll give your best to both PA and SQ. As for your suggestion to Kirby to further punish me by "wetting" my tires, he does that on a regular basis anyway. Seems to think he's doing me a favor by "cleaning" them. Don't hold your breath, though. That little troublemaker may be singing "Georgia On My Mind," but he sure won't be doing it in person! Or would that be in dog?!
