No Post Today

“Why not?” says Admin.

“Revising SCENTS AND SENSIBILITY,” says Spence.

“What kind of excuse is that?”

Good morning, everyone! “revising”…sounds like work. The sky here is dark and dreary, rain tomorrow and Wed. at least. We might have a wet Christmas 🙂
    Have a murky Monday.

Good Morning HOH–You know how I feel about rain, but I hope it isn’t too gloomy for you. A good day for chili and cornbread?

Good morning all. Dreary here too. We may get some snow or rain by Christmas. So far it seems that the temps have been too warm for snow and that may be the case this week.

T & G, We thought the shows were very similar too. Good point about the Lab vs GSD. I did think the Gracepoint character with the dog was a little scarier/crazier looking than the British lady.

Chili and cornbread sounds good, but here we have a big pot of turkey, vegetable & barley soup.

We were on fb and saw AJ’s post about poutine being the best food ever. We had to look it up.
Ummmm – guess we could never qualify as Canadians.
And what the heck does a cheese curd taste like anyway?

Good morning! Revising? We didn’t even get a chance to critique the original.
Mom says she had poutine somewhere. Mick and Jodi’s (the people, not the dogs)? She liked it.
The ‘rents were up real early today. They must have forgotten that they are on vacation. So then they got bags and bags and more bags from the locked up guest bedroom, and lots of wrapping paper. Suddenly, we were all kicked outside in the cold, dark morning. Then we smelled some really good stuff from inside that kitchen. We waited, with our noses against the door. For what? We don’t know, because when we were finally allowed back in, hours later, all was back to normal, as in no wrapping paper, no bags, and definitely no good smelling stuff.

T & G, Fried cheese curds are quite yummy. It is a big Wisconsin thing. They would be a little like a round mozzarella stick, but are usually made from a deeper yellow cheese..

There is a trendy new café in our town; we stopped in the other day for a quick lunch. Two grilled cheese sandwiches and two cups of tomato soup cost $20.00. But we did notice poutine on their menu. Might have to go back and check it out – but we will ask first if it is authentic, or it is a trendy version.

The presidential press conference was news yesterday because he only called on female reporters. Heh heh heh.

I guess the men thought it wasn’t ‘fair’.

Here is an article about it and the last person quoted is a certain Rosie Gray from Buzzfeed. I think I have heard about her somewhere.

Good morning. About to take Sadie to the vet.

Rio said his friend was worried that my molasses cookies were getting stale. I had planned to hold off but broke them open last night. Not stale. And I have eaten so many that it would be pathetic to take them to Christmas dinner. {{{sigh}}} Bad, Rio, bad.

Buffalo has poutine and right across the border in Canada too. Neither place has the real thing like HOH posted. The real poutine sounds delicious. Our stuff is regular french fries with cheese sauce and gravy ladled on. I have never tried the poutine we can get here. It looks disgusting.

Hobitt–thinking about Sadie with paws and various appendages crossed.
I was wondering if “poutine” was maybe a corruption of “boudin” (which I though was pudding), but it is instead sausage, so likely not. Apparently poutine is today’s kale (only not as healthy) there’s a poutine food truck in LA.
Too much food talk for me–I need to go mop something…

Molasses cookies are addictive. It may very well be the molasses. I’ve made a cracker jacks like popcorn mixture with molasses that was addictive and molasses on pancakes or over ice cream is addictive too.

Dear Family – we have a confession to make. We have been very naughty Kats. Mama brought a cute little kitten home with her one day – he was homeless and cold and starving.
So now, he is sleek and healthy, but we Kats have made everyone’s life miserable.
We simply will not accept this little interloper, and we stalk him and beat him up every chance we get. Or we pout, and won’t come near Mama, and won’t eat for a day or two at a time.
Mama has done everything she can think of, and for a while, we kind of thought about being nice to the kid. But – they don’t call us Wrotten Kats for nothing.
So, this morning Mama made a tough call and went to the v e t to see if they still had people who wanted him. They did. So the little beastie is going to his new home today – complete with a little boy to play with and no Wrotten Kats to compete with.
So, this is all good right? But for some reason Mama is crying her eyes out.
She probably won’t be back on the blog today. We will try to cuddle up with her and see if we can cheer her up, but this is gonna be a tough assignment.
Maybe we shouldn’t have been quite so Wrotten…..

Oh Basil & Sage. And just before Christmas too. You are on the Naughty List for sure.

Sadie’s vet appointment took a long time because they were also doing a Senior Wellness workup. They wanted to take x-rays of her back and their machine needed a tech to adjust it. The x-rays showed slight arthritis in a couple of places on her spine which may be causing back spasms. Her knees and hips are fine. So she has Rimidyl to take and I am to buy some joint health pills for her. And Rio she is now dieting–same foods but smaller portions. She weighed too much last year and has gained 6 pounds.

She made it in and out of the car fine the first time but the return trip was a bit tricky for her. Now we are both going to rest.

Sadie, I am happy that you are doing well. Mom gives me a pill called Arthrogen once a day. It keeps me limber, so I can maintain my Head Girl status.

T&G’s Maw, this must be so disappointing for you, as well as for Gramps and The Storyteller. sniff. Things would probably work out after a while, but it can take a very long, and stressful, time. We had to endure a year and a half of terrible behavior from T.C. when Buddy moved into our house. And then, when Zeus arrived, she did a lot of hiding out for most of the Spring and Summer. Cats can be like that. They seem to not want to socialize with other felines, unlike we Members of the Nation Within, who mostly love to socialize with each other.

  44. Barb, Maggie and Lucy
    6:21 pm on December 22nd, 2014

So glad Sadie is better. I give the girls a daily dose of a product called GLC 1000. It was recommended by the Basset rescue group and can be purchased thru Amazon for about $43.00. It last for months, with both dogs getting a 1/4 tsp once a day.

I think the only breed of cats that lives in a pack is a lion. Most cats are not a pack animal, which is probably why it is so much easier to introduce a new dog into a family.
