“Why not?” Admin says.
“Pressures of work, plus a short day due to circumstances.”
“Maybe I could just post some of my political opinions.”
“Rain check.”

Good morning! I want to hear Admin’s political opinions!
8:35 am on October 8th, 2014
No you do not, Zeus!
Good morning everyone! It is a beee-autiful Fall morning here. Unfortunately, we were kept awake all night while Pop was on a call (or several calls because the phone kept ringing) for work. Somewhere in the wee hours, he had to dress and go in to work. We are all zonked.

Come back, Avatar!
8:57 am on October 8th, 2014
Good morning, OH and everyone! We missed the moon and the lunar eclipse but boy did we have a light extravaganza last night. We made sure to keep the peeps safe anr soundly tucked into bed. Coudds broke about 10 minutes ago so currently blue and sunny. More boomers expected tonight and tomorrow 🙁
Been having issues posting and our wifi keeps blinking off 🙁 GAH!
Have a wonderfully, willful Wednesday.
8:59 am on October 8th, 2014
See what happens to spelling when we let Darah Thea do the posting 🙁
AND and Clouds. We hope that was all.
9:18 am on October 8th, 2014
Good morning all. We wonder about his political opinions too.
Beautiful day here, sunny and crisp.
9:27 am on October 8th, 2014
Congratulations to Wolfie on last night’s game. We will definitely root for the Giants over the Cardinals, but our heart now belongs to Baltimore for the World Series.
And in honor of the lunar eclipse, a little serenade, compliments of Cat Stevens:
Oh, I’m bein’ followed by a moonshadow, moon shadow, moonshadow—
Leapin and hoppin’ on a moonshadow, moonshadow, moonshadow—
And if I ever lose my hands, lose my plough, lose my land,
Oh if I ever lose my hands, Oh if I won’t have to work no more.
And if I ever lose my eyes, if my colours all run dry,
Yes if I ever lose my eyes, Oh if I won’t have to cry no more.
[Chorus]
And if I ever lose my legs, I won’t moan, and I won’t beg,
Yes if I ever lose my legs, Oh if I won’t have to walk no more.
And if I ever lose my mouth, all my teeth, north and south,
Yes if I ever lose my mouth, Oh if I won’t have to talk…
Did it take long to find me? I asked the faithful light.
Did it take long to find me? And are you gonna stay the night?
[Chorus]
Moonshadow, moonshadow, moonshadow, moonshadow.

There are tears being shed here this morning. sob
9:47 am on October 8th, 2014
Our mama, Annabelle crossed the Bridge early this morning. The Giant and our Lady were with her. They thanked her, told her she is loved, and stayed with her until her last breath. Annabelle is credited with several things in the kennel: teaching most of our lead dogs everything they know, stealing most things that can’t be found, and last but not least, begatting us.
She is loved. She is missed.
9:48 am on October 8th, 2014
Now of course I’m wondering what the circumstances are that make it a short day.
Good morning all.
9:49 am on October 8th, 2014
Greetings!
Yawn! A way past my bedtime night last night, but it was fun! (See yesterday’s blog)
A beautiful day here in Westchester! I might have to take a walk.
W&T’s Dad: I love that song! Since I am an East Coast girl, I will be rooting for Baltimore in solidarity with you, and my bestest friend, Teddy.
9:51 am on October 8th, 2014
Thieves! Sob, sob, sob.
When Grizz and I visited your house, Annabelle shared “her” couch with us. She was a good dog, and many, many friends will be there to welcome her at the Bridge.
sob

Sniff, Goodbye Annabelle. Thank you for all the training you did for Snowhooks lead dogs. sniff sniff. We will remember you.
9:56 am on October 8th, 2014
Oh Rose, YOu got to meet Annabelle. We here are jealous. Hopefully this February we can meet the Snowhook Dogs also.
10:01 am on October 8th, 2014
Staff, I hope you can too. I keep hoping for the day when I can go back to visit them.
10:02 am on October 8th, 2014
Safe travels to Annabelle as she crosses The Bridge. We are sorry for your loss.
Thank you W&T Dad, for that old Cat Stevens song. I think I read that he is doing a come back tour after an absence of about 25 years. I saw him once in concert back in the day, before he changed his name and disappeared.
10:04 am on October 8th, 2014
Fare thee well, Annabelle. You will be missed. Our peeps are glad to have met you.
10:11 am on October 8th, 2014
Theives, we are sorry to hear that your mama crossed. She was a champion, no doubt about it.
10:13 am on October 8th, 2014
We are also Cat Stevens fans.
10:21 am on October 8th, 2014
Mama!…sob!sob!sob!
10:26 am on October 8th, 2014
So sorry to hear about Annabelle. But there is a new, bright shining star on the other side of the bridge right about now, of that you can be sure.
10:30 am on October 8th, 2014
Barb — We had seen him too, back in the day. Great performer! But probably the best live performer we ever saw (multiple times too) was Harry Chapin. He could really put on a terrific live concert. And James Taylor and Carole King, who we saw a couple of years ago, put on a pretty terrific concert too.
10:50 am on October 8th, 2014
Fare thee well, Anabelle. Those on the Other Side are doubtless thrilled to see you.
Thieves! You have our condolences. You will miss your mom.
sob
11:02 am on October 8th, 2014
Whose a good lead dog/mama dog/gentle, loving, happy doggie?
Good journey, little one. Enjoy all those new trails wending through the galaxies.
11:08 am on October 8th, 2014
W & T’s Dad. Another oldie but goody that put on a great concert was Roger Whittaker. Remember him? I remember that he had 5 kids and wrote a song called “Shoulda had Dogs”. LOL
11:10 am on October 8th, 2014
Our October Glory maple tree was mostly green two days ago, and this morning it is all red! Wonder how that happened!
11:10 am on October 8th, 2014
Traits!…The Thieves will carry on all of Annabelles best traits…sniffle!…This we can be sure of….wuffle!
11:27 am on October 8th, 2014
Nanason!…One more hour and our Nanason will be on another aeroplane…sniff!…You can’t keep that one down.
11:38 am on October 8th, 2014
We heard that the suitcase was coming out, but didn’t hear where she is going this time. Did she say?
Barb is going to splurge tonight and have pizza and beer. Kelly is having a birthday party for hubby Chad at Nick’s Pizza, where they serve wonderful pizzas. Has anyone had one of those seasonal beers like a pumpkin ale?
11:39 am on October 8th, 2014
Annabelle: others will lead the way because of you. A fine dog and a fine legacy. I will count out my piggy bank of loose change and send some money for the bootie fund in your honor.
11:44 am on October 8th, 2014
There was just now a dog named Blackie up top. He looks the way I picture Chet.
11:59 am on October 8th, 2014
Pumpkin ales are Mom’s favorite. She is really missing those this time of year.
12:04 pm on October 8th, 2014
Baltimore!…I will also be rooting for Baltimore and their silly looking Oriole Caps…snort!…Those guys deserve to go to the World Series…heh!…Plus, if they can do it, so can we…burp!
12:14 pm on October 8th, 2014
B&M&L, we think she said something about Missouri and a family wedding. Not pawsitive.
12:22 pm on October 8th, 2014
yes, Nana is going to St. Louis. She told us this many times.
12:42 pm on October 8th, 2014
Airborn!…And coming to a city near you!…snort!
12:49 pm on October 8th, 2014
Does this mean that EOWS* is running rampant on this here blog?
Every Other Wored Syndrome 🙂 heh, heh, heh
1:05 pm on October 8th, 2014
Annabelle….sob, You are a hero lead dog and will lead the way at Rainbow Bridge, where there is always snow and cool runnings.
Wolfie, I will be cheering with you for the Giants now.
I didn’t see the moon last night because it was and is cloudy…more pieces of a hurricane.
1:23 pm on October 8th, 2014
Crawlspace is being sealed today. One workman has arrived with a broken hand in a cast, one workman is late and the other has called in sick. Oh boy.
1:24 pm on October 8th, 2014
Geez CHobbit, some days, if it wasn’t for bad luck, you wouldn’t have no luck!
1:33 pm on October 8th, 2014
The booty fund has received a 25 dollar donation in Annabelle’s honor. That means 50.00 more for the fund as it was matched by an additional 25. I am on the wrong computer so I can’t give you details but they will come before the end of the day. And I know there are still matching funds available.
Hint hint hint.
Husky howls to Annabelle as she joins our pals over the rainbow

1:35 pm on October 8th, 2014
I get to go into the big city today to visit doctors. I will be unable to reply to any more booty bequests until later gators.
1:43 pm on October 8th, 2014
Ooo Staff: is that Husky Howls quilting a glimpse of a future auction item?
2:02 pm on October 8th, 2014
I remember now that this is the wedding weekend. Had a brain cramp there for a minute. CRS syndrome must have hit.
Howlers, you sealed the deal. Barb is going to try a pumpkin ale.
Now, it is nap time.
3:05 pm on October 8th, 2014
A double negative makes a positive.
I had lunch with a friend at Barnes and Noble and I had a Starbuck’s caramel macchiato. Delish.
All of the trees are changing color and are beautiful and I still see monarch butterflies floating around.
3:17 pm on October 8th, 2014
Landed!…Nanason has reached her first destination…snort!
3:18 pm on October 8th, 2014
HOH – thank you so much for the surprise package. We promise to put it to good use.
3:19 pm on October 8th, 2014
Yeeep!…Her next flight leaves in about 40 minutes!…wheeze!…Run Nanason, run!…yelp!
3:28 pm on October 8th, 2014
Rest easy now, Annabelle. Wasn’t she the first dog that got lifted by the Giant to touch paw to the arch after his first completed Iditarod?
3:29 pm on October 8th, 2014
Nana will only have a two hour time change on this trip.
3:39 pm on October 8th, 2014
Squak, Bwak, and Arck! Tupper’s Mama, don’t you dare give those miserable, flea-bitten barkers credit for OUR contribution. We worked for hours growing and molting those just for you, You, YOU. So there!
3:41 pm on October 8th, 2014
Did we forget to mention preening?
3:45 pm on October 8th, 2014
I am curious about “circumstances” and Admin’s political opinions, however, after remembering what it did to the cat, I will stifle my curiosity.
So sad to say so long to Annabelle, one of the sweetest and also no nonsense doggies of the Snowhook Kennels. She was a great leader and teacher and she took care of our favorite musher on the Iditarod Trail. She was my official escort when I visited Snowhook Kennels and will always have a place in my heart.
I remember singing Cat Stevens, “Miles from Nowhere” at the top of my lungs (think Basil and Sage) 20 years ago when I was driving from Alaska home to Montana. I truly was miles from anywhere.
I have received some significant donations to checkpoints while I’ve been on the road. There will be an update after I get home Thursday afternoon. I will reply to any SDD’s that have been sent to the snowhookcheckpoints account at that time. Sorry for the delay.
Go Giants!
3:54 pm on October 8th, 2014
Dawson, you, Nana and sometimes CHobbit are quite the travelers. Go, go, go. It wears us our just reading about y’alls adventures.
4:39 pm on October 8th, 2014
Take-off!…Nanason has taken off again and on her final journey…snort!…I hope she lands before that big storm moves in…yeeep!
4:49 pm on October 8th, 2014
Please bless that Annabelle knew how much she was loved on this here blog.
5:02 pm on October 8th, 2014
Take note of Chet’s most recent facebookie post.
I had the same thoughts when I learned of this.
5:14 pm on October 8th, 2014
Dear Annabelle – we’re glad both the Giant and the Pixie were with you and we believe you took some sparkles with you across the bridge. Your legacy is a sweet one.
Siber-H, I thought the same thing. Boo. Hiss.
5:44 pm on October 8th, 2014
This was on the news this afternoon and appears to have been hushed up. It’s not on the news this evening.

According to Chet’s post, they have the dog quarantined so far. We hope that is still the case. If it is not, we don’t want toread about it.
Speaking of Chet, Mom wanted us to tell youse about a “Chet Twin” she saw while biking with Pop. He was in a car, with. 3 humans. One of the humans was driving, and the other two were in the backseat. The deserving Member of the Nation Within was riding shotgun. Take that, Susie!
5:54 pm on October 8th, 2014
Howlers, You don’t want to read about it.
Off to run a few errands and then attend the birthday party for my favorite SIL.
Have a good evening everyone.
6:23 pm on October 8th, 2014
Annabelle,
I shall miss you. I have so enjoyed your comments. Please say hello to my gentle giant cousins across that bridge.
6:43 pm on October 8th, 2014
POP – sorry, our bad. What were we thinking? Of course we thank you for the loverly feathers, and will sing your praises when we use them.
We think the first “paw to arch moment” involved a certain wandering Whitey-Lance. But we could be mistaken
7:47 pm on October 8th, 2014
Update: re sealing the crawlspace….so no one else arrived to help the guy with the broken hand in a cast and he just left for the day to go to the dentist (3:30 AK time). So he started to work foaming all the electrical outlets and putting in gaskets. Supposedly a crew of 6 will arrive tomorrow to do everything that originally was booked as a 2-day job: the crawlspace and the attic. He only got the electrical outlets downstairs done before leaving which leaves the main living space upstairs to do. (He was supposed to get it all done today). Of course, I pulled everything out from the walls to give him access so I can’t put back any of the upstairs furniture back. I can’t believe that I am paying big bucks for this.
Also: IT SNOWED FOR AN HOUR IN ANCHORAGE!
7:54 pm on October 8th, 2014
Snow? Perhaps this is good considering this a southern route year. It will also make for good training. Annabelle, you keep an eye on our kennel and all y’all Snowhook dogs over the bridge, help them out!
8:36 pm on October 8th, 2014
CHobbit!…Well crap!…snort!…And snow on top of it stinks…sniff!sniff!
8:45 pm on October 8th, 2014
I thought Annabelle was the first Snowhook doggie to touch the burled arch but I on Snowhook’s blog and T & G’s Mama is right. It was Whitey-Lance.
CHobbit: Gah! I can relate. Our carpenter says he is going to get our deck built before winter but as each day passes and he hasn’t started, I am losing hope. Then again, he is not getting paid the big bucks. He is a friend of a friend. If I were you I would complain long and loud to the boss of this company.
9:57 pm on October 8th, 2014
Dawson!…Where in the world are you?…sniff!
9:57 pm on October 8th, 2014
Games!…Am I missing any baseball games right now?…snort!…Its been a long day and I have not even checked the sports page…grunt!
10:04 pm on October 8th, 2014
Rio, No baseball games tonight.
10:16 pm on October 8th, 2014
Rio : I am 250 miles south of my home which is the closest place to see the medical special i s t. This is what you have to do if you live in the far North. Grump! I catch the bus home tomorrow morning.
Hockey season started today.
10:19 pm on October 8th, 2014
Dawson!…I hope your doc visit went well and you are tip-top!…snort!… There are still checkpoints that need funding and we need you back home at your post making this happen…gruffle!
10:23 pm on October 8th, 2014
Ah, Dawsonness, hockey pre-season was unusual to say the least 🙂
10:24 pm on October 8th, 2014
Snowbella has set up a dedicated SDD for donating to the bootie fund. This is to enable more people than just the plunderers to donate to snowhook.
So from now on Donation notices should be sent to snowhookshakeyourbootie@gmail.com
NOTE: that is bootie with an I and an E.
I will check the new addy occasionally and especailly if someone reminds me. Today we did get another donation and it was promptly matched making 50.00 more in the bootie fund. Now we are up to 425.00 dollars in the bootie fund. AND there is 140 left in matching funds! That means that before that 140. matches future donations we will have another prize winner…
Whoo
Hooo
10:28 pm on October 8th, 2014
Dawson!…That is an expensive doctors visit once you add up the bus fare, the hotel, and all the grub and beer you drink while away from home. Not to mention the actual doctors visit…wheeze!
10:37 pm on October 8th, 2014
Yes and nothing that could not have been settled with a 3 minute phone call. Don’t even get me started! Plus the special i s t is an arrogant git. Sigh.
HOH: 🙂
10:38 pm on October 8th, 2014
My post with the new SDD for making bootie donations is being moderated. I can only think it is because of the SDD.
So maybe…
The SDD for the bootie fund is snowhookshakeyourbootie at gmaildotcom.
I will check the new SDD occasionally and especially if someone reminds me. Today we did get another donation and it was promptly matched making 50.00 more in the bootie fund. 10:40 pm on October 8th, 2014
Oh Oh, and please note that is bootie with an IE. I have been indiscriminate in my spelling of bootie, but now I must pay attention!
10:40 pm on October 8th, 2014
Specialists!….Aren’t they all arrogant gits?…grunt!…You tell me. No I will tell you, they are all arrogant gits…grumble!
Sports!….I can never really focus on any other sporting events until after the World Series is over…chuffle!
10:40 pm on October 8th, 2014
Back from the pizza. They did not have pumpkin ale. Bummer.
Dawson, what is a git?
10:42 pm on October 8th, 2014
GAH!….Of course my post is being moderated because I totally forgot the “specialist” rule…grump!…I will re-post with the necessary edits…grumble!…Here we go!
“Specialists”!….Aren’t they all arrogant gits?…grunt!…You tell me. No I will tell you, they are all arrogant gits…grumble!
Sports!….I can never really focus on any other sporting events until after the World Series is over…chuffle!

A git is an a s s but not the pretty curvy kind.
10:44 pm on October 8th, 2014
GAH!…GAH!…I have two, count them, two comments in moderation because 1. I used the word speci-al-ist….2. I tried to re-post using quotes around said word…snort! …Which did not work for some reason…gah!…Not re-posting. Not worth it…grump!
10:57 pm on October 8th, 2014
Elliot, Thank you for explaining. Do the letters actually stand for something specific? We have never heard of a git.
10:58 pm on October 8th, 2014
Special i s t is one of those innocent words that are moderated for no known reason.
I have to charge this ipad so I will sign off for the night.
Hi Elliot: Looking forward to seeing you in 3 weeks!
Rio: The medical bus only costs $20 and the special i s t is free (paid by my insurance and taxes). The hotel costs a fortune.
11:00 pm on October 8th, 2014
Barb et al: Git is a word and not an acronym.
11:02 pm on October 8th, 2014
Hotels!….Yes, they are ridiculously expensive. I learned this from my friend…grunt!…The only Hotel that is reasonable is The Hobbit Hotel. I would recommend it to all of the Plunderers…heh!heh!
11:08 pm on October 8th, 2014
Thanks, Dawson. I will try to remember that word and use it in the future on the blog. I am sure I will run across someone, at some point, who is a git! But none of us here, of course.
And now we say good night.
11:12 pm on October 8th, 2014
Git is British slang.
Yowser. Another 25 dollars has been stolen from someones treatie fund and given over to the bootie bandit. Heh heh heh The Bootie Bonanza is now at 475.00. It is painfully close to 1/3 funded! That is frickin AMAZING!
We are getting really really close to the next prize. Do you remember the butterfly pin? I hope you do because I can’t find the dratted picture on this computer. I have too many computers. grump.
BTW there is 115.00 left in matching funds waiting to be matched.
GO SNOWHOOK!
11:13 pm on October 8th, 2014
Git!…That is a very English expression….snort!…So is “arse”…heh!…I’m surprised Spencer did not use these in Paw and Order. Or maybe he did and I just took it for granted…chuffle!
11:17 pm on October 8th, 2014
Staff!….Good work and keep it up!…snort!…This is absolutely wonderful news…chuffle!
11:34 pm on October 8th, 2014
Goodnight!…All you Booty freaks!…heh!heh!…And Checkpoint wanna-beez…snrt!…See youse tomorrow!
11:46 pm on October 8th, 2014
We love that word “git”. It is a mild British insult, coming from the old English ” get” referring to illegitimate offspring. So calling someone a bit is like calling them a b@st@rd. But it is usually said in a light way as a cuss, such as “you grumpy old git”, or ” you silly git”.
(Can’t help it – we watch a lot of British TV)

Nighty nodding off….
