Me? First?
Greetings!
It is a beautiful morning here in Westchester! Have a sunny Saturday!
Thinking of Zoe, Karen, Truman, BooBear, ML and Macy, the Pixie and her Giant.
Pawsitive energy to all youse on this here blog!
8:43 am on June 28th, 2014
Good morning all.
Sorry about the technical trouble, Spence and Admin.
Rio, I was rooting for the Rockies because I love you, you, you.
Tornado touched down 40 miles from us yesterday. There was property damage, but everyone was safe. More hot, muggy weather today. Thank heavens for air conditioning.
C Hobbit: wonderful care of Ikette.
Bella: Happy you are back home.
Everyone else: Have a wonderful day.
8:54 am on June 28th, 2014
Good morning, Wose, Billy’s Buddy and everyone! Miss a post but hope the “technical difficulties” disappear soon. Billy’s Bud, glad you are safe 🙂 Thoughts with the Giant and the Pixie as they register for Iditarod 2015 today, GO SNOWHOOK!
we vote for Wose’s sunny Saturday.
9:04 am on June 28th, 2014
Billy’s Buddy, glad that you are all safe.
CHobbit, sorry to hear about the loss of your pictures! Ikette will be a better puppy because of you. I hope that he finds a wonderful forever home.
Iditarod 2015! That’s what I’m talkin’ about!
9:23 am on June 28th, 2014
So glad Rebecca made it home last night. That was a looong flight.
I am sure it is with mixed feelings that C Hobbit is saying goodbye
to little Ikette. Do they expect you to housebreak a puppy when you foster? We have always heard 3 meals a day till 6 months. They don’t need more than that, although they will eat if offered.
Barb is trying to diet till her family reunion Aug 7th. The goal is 20 lbs for now. It seems to be going well – no fried foods, no bread and very little pasta or rice. Mostly lean meats, fish veggies and salads. Can’t go totally paleo as she likes cottage cheese and green onions, and also some cheese on salads. Also cut out wine and cocktails till the get-together. That helps a lot, because her late night will power (a downfall) is stronger.
9:49 am on June 28th, 2014
Slurp, burp, wowser! Mom made poached eggs today for us, us, us and no one said it was Egg Day. She said is isn’t but she is celebrating because she and the DDD have the house to themselves for the weekend 🙂 (whispering) do you think it would be pushing our luck if we hoped for Egg Day again tomorrow?
9:52 am on June 28th, 2014
Good morning all.
9:53 am on June 28th, 2014
CHobbit, I know it’s too late for your pictures to be saved now, but tuck this away for the future. You could have taken the SD card out of the phone and popped it right into a slot on the side of the Mac and loaded your pictures into it from there.
10:17 am on June 28th, 2014
Technical problems? I can identify with that.
Have a good day everyone.
10:26 am on June 28th, 2014
HOG, where is everyone?
Barb is off to Fresh Market for some half price wild caught cod at The Fresh Market. Good for her diet.
10:31 am on June 28th, 2014
B&M, the boarder is long hauling for about 2 weeks (work at last), the s son has been working in Nashville and the co. has an extended stay hotel room for their crew. Since the crew all came back to town for the weekend, he grabbed Spongetta for a weekend getaway…for us too 🙂
10:32 am on June 28th, 2014
Barb&Magpie: Bear is Here!
Golinka & the Storyteller: Have a Great Time at the Chief’s Celebration and take a couple of pictures for us here on the Blog too.

Welcome Home Pixie!

10:49 am on June 28th, 2014
Hounds: Isn’t Blondie a Truck’n Dog? Have a Relaxing Weekend of Peace & Quiet.
Wose: We are adding Wolfie to Your List. It has been a while since we heard from him and his mom.
BlueCat too…wondering about the car and Most Importantly, the Dad.
10:59 am on June 28th, 2014
Blondie is still too young to go on the road: healing from surgery and not completely house trained. It hay be tough for the peeps to let her go. Us too, we like having a little one to blame for messes 🙂
11:34 am on June 28th, 2014
One hundred years ago today, Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife, Sophie, were assassinated thus beginning World War I.

Yea for first class, yea for sign-up day!

T&G: Hope the parents have a relaxing, rejuvenating weekend.

12:57 pm on June 28th, 2014
Happy Birthday to Our Favorite Author!!
Stover, I am glad you remembered the beginning of World War I one hundred years ago today.
I had soccer withdrawal yesterday and I don’t care which teams win today.
The dude that is a bitter…He says it was an accident. He didn’t mean to do it. Sure, and I am going for a swim this afternoon.
1:00 pm on June 28th, 2014
Best of Luck today, Snowhook.
Great tracking job by Rio and Masquers last night.
1:19 pm on June 28th, 2014
Happy Birthday, Spence, and many more.
Thanks for the heads-up Bee.
Yay. Iditarod 2015. Yay.
Bear – dad’s fine and got a certified pre-owned he likes to drive.
Happy Rest of the Weekend, Everybody. The parentals are off to a family wedding, with all that goes with that definition, if you know what I mean, Howlers…
1:28 pm on June 28th, 2014
ML: Yea for a passport!
1:43 pm on June 28th, 2014
BearSpiritDog: Love the tennis ball cupcakes!
Bluecat: Oh boy! A family wedding with all the trimmings.
Go Snowhook!
1:46 pm on June 28th, 2014
I like those cupcakes!
1:46 pm on June 28th, 2014
Technically, it’s his birthday! Happy birthday and many more.
Love the tennis ball cupcakes. Perfect for Spence and Admin (which one plays tennis?)
Mary Lou, do you have a particular destination in mind?
Have fun at that family wedding. Details requested later.
Staff, How are you doing with the weight? I know you were trying to gain a little, and we are trying to send you a few pounds.
1:47 pm on June 28th, 2014
Dawson: We are hoping OFA will Share!
BlueCat: Good to know he is okay. Is this a Loaner Car or your dad’s New Car?
Have Fun at the Wedding!
2:03 pm on June 28th, 2014
Two more hours with Ikette. Of course, he is being sweet and adorable this morning. The afternoon agenda is to clean house post puppy.
Anchorage finally has a sunny day which is nice because the neighborhood is having a block party tonight. The city gives grants to encourage strong neighbors. I think the grants range from $2K up. So a bouncy house was rented, a balloon guy hired, food bought…I will be helping out on either the cotton candy or snow cones. I hope to meet more of my neighbors.

Barb, My goal was to be between 140 and 150. I am at 150.2 this morning. I have a easy way to lose weight though. All I have to do is not take my enzyme supplements and the weight drops right off. Sort of weird and scary! However I have gained from my low of 127 (that was only for one day) and do feel much better. My new pants are getting a little tight though…snicker.
3:07 pm on June 28th, 2014
Happy Birthday, SQ!!!! Have a great day.
3:15 pm on June 28th, 2014
Oh boy, Spence and the Mohawk Chief have the same birthday.
It’s a great party.
4:08 pm on June 28th, 2014
Staff, I thought you looked good in the recent pictures.
C Hobbit, have fun, and don’t take any phones or cameras with you!
4:13 pm on June 28th, 2014
Think this will do the trick?

4:24 pm on June 28th, 2014
C. Hobbit — That always reminds me of a great New Yorker cartoon, of two dogs talking and one says to the other: “Good dog, good dog, its always good dog, but never great dog.”
4:42 pm on June 28th, 2014
Wookie&Teddy’s Dad: Gotta Love those New Yorker Cartoons!
HerbKats: What are youse doing at the Party? Happy to hear it is lots of Fun.
B: Still waiting for (cup)cake. You don’t think Audrey & Pearl beat us to it do you?
C.Hobbit: No one, but no one could resist that Adorable Face.
You did good. Sniff.
4:43 pm on June 28th, 2014
After two glorious weeks in Vermont, we had to come home yesterday, but at least I had a great play date with my Princess Zeta today; we went to Seneca Creek Greenway Trail and had lots of fun hiking and in the water (photos later). But I still miss Vermont so much, especially getting to meet Tupper and Gilly (and Rio too!) and did I tell you that my very bestest friend Wose (and the Grizz too) came all the way up from New York just to see me, me, me! We had a grand time and I really had fun playing with Tupper and Gilly, and getting ear rubs and tummies from Amalia and Leonard and Wose and Grizz — it just could not have been any better. A few photos will follow, the first being me and Wose.
4:44 pm on June 28th, 2014
Oops, forgot the photo.

4:45 pm on June 28th, 2014
And this one is the whole gang, including Wose and my dad.

4:46 pm on June 28th, 2014
And this one is one me and one of the Royals (I think Gilly but I still get them confused).

4:47 pm on June 28th, 2014
Lastly, this is me meeting some special friends at Billings Farm while mom and Wose and the Grizz took the tour.

5:20 pm on June 28th, 2014
Someone specifically had put dibs on Ike. So hopefully it works out. I barely walked 10 steps and people were asking about him. I guess he gets neutered on Monday so he won’t go to his forever home until then. I hope he isn’t kenneled until then. My new phone has a lot more auto correct. Out you dam otters
5:32 pm on June 28th, 2014
Birthday!…Zow! How old are those guys anyways?…heh!heh!…I sure hope The Charming Mr.Abrahams gets to eat steak and drink his favorite wine. He does deserve all the best!!!…WOOOOOO!
5:39 pm on June 28th, 2014
Photoz!…Wowwers! Great photoz from Vermont…snort!…Teddy and Rose are so good-looking together…snorkel!
DVD!…So guess what??…grunt!…My friend finally hooked up my new DVD player to my new TV…WOOOOO!….We are watching Sherlock right now. This is the episode right after Sherlock jumps off the tall building and kills himself…wheeze!…I hope it was filmed in black and white, because that is what we are seeing…sniff!…I hope this isn’t a glitch in the equipment…groan!
5:40 pm on June 28th, 2014
SiberH!…When does the USA play again in the World Cup??…chuffle!
5:41 pm on June 28th, 2014
Happy birthday, Spence!
CHobbit, That picture of Ikette is just adorable!
Teddy, Thanks for the photos! Grizz and I had the best time ever!
BlueKat, Glad to hear good news about your dad.
Wolfie, Thinking on you.
5:42 pm on June 28th, 2014
TeddyRR: Your dad took some great fotos!
CHobbiti: I know you gave the little pup a shining reference.
5:43 pm on June 28th, 2014
RIO! Did you see the picture of you, me, T&G, and Teddy’s dad?
5:44 pm on June 28th, 2014
Rio, The USA plays Belgium on Tuesday at 4 pm our time. I think this is correct. I searched several places on the internet to find this info this morning.
5:46 pm on June 28th, 2014
Rio, CORRRECTION!!
It will be 2 pm our time.
6:02 pm on June 28th, 2014
Crap!….2:00pm? Really?…grump!…I will have to listen to it on my little headphones again…gruffle!…Not nearly as fun as watching it on my big TV with my friend…sniff!
6:04 pm on June 28th, 2014
Rose!…Yes, I have seen all the photoz that youse guys have posted on this here blog…snort!…What fun you guys had and what beautiful surroundings. Surroundings fit for a Plunderer First Annual Reunion, if you get my drift…heh!heh!
6:15 pm on June 28th, 2014
Teddy RR, Thank you for the pictures.
C.Hobbit, That is a cute picture of the little guy. Mom says to tell you she knows it hasn’t been easy.
Rio, It seems that there will only be two soccer games a day instead of three now that the group it play is over with. I am learning as it happens.
I gave up on watching the World Cup four years ago because of those totally annoying horns.
6:18 pm on June 28th, 2014
Horns!…Yeah, I did not watch any of it because the noise was sooooo annoying…sniff!…It hurt my puggly ears…grump!…This World Cup is great, except for the biter, but he is gone now…hehehe!
Coincidental!….Isn’t it an amazing thing that The Giants are signing up for Iditarod 2015 AND it is our most favorite authors birthday?….WOOOO!…This has to be a really good sign for the race to come…yessirreee!
6:35 pm on June 28th, 2014
Rio: Are you watching the third season of Sherlock when his jump from the roof is shown to be a trick? It is not in black and white.
6:42 pm on June 28th, 2014
Stover!…Yes!…GAH!…It is NOT in black and white? OH NO! Something is wrong then. It looks totally cool in black and white, but this is not right…grump!
7:06 pm on June 28th, 2014
Sorry Rio. Perhaps all of the cords aren’t plugged in correctly.
7:20 pm on June 28th, 2014
Stover!…All the cords weren’t plugged in correctly…snort!…My friend tracked down the problem and rectified it…heh!…Now everything looks colorized. The wedding was very pink – I was concerned but other scenes seem A-Ok…chuffle!
7:26 pm on June 28th, 2014
Masquers: In my “Puppy Starter Kit” of food, toys and a leash, I left a 3-page single space letter detailing all aspects of Ike’s life: meals, sleep, play, potty habits. I even included advice that it is easier to have 2 dogs be companions to each other. heh
Sadie has been staring at me with mournful eyes. The house in unbelievably quiet which is throwing us off. Photo of their last play time:

7:27 pm on June 28th, 2014
Tech advice to Rio and others: when everything is hooked up correctly, take a photo of the backside showing all the cords. So if you ever have to unplug things for any reason, you have a guide on how to hook things up again.
7:38 pm on June 28th, 2014
CHobbit!…I could come over and keep youse guys company if you want…snuffle!…Beau was all consumining when he first came here. Now he just hangs out like I do…heh!heh!
7:43 pm on June 28th, 2014
I’m getting all teary here.
7:50 pm on June 28th, 2014
Rio:you are always welcome. And having a puppy has made me relax some of the rules I.e. peeing on the deck. 90% of the time I was carrying the little guy up and down the 18 steps. And before you think of it– no, I am not going to carry youse.
7:55 pm on June 28th, 2014
Hobbit, know you will miss Ike just like when Blondie gets old enough to go on the road again. At least here we will see Blondie every couple of weeks for a few days at a time.
8:05 pm on June 28th, 2014
I’m not teary about Ike because I think he’s going to go to a wonderful home, hopefully. But Sadie’s mournful eyes got to me.
8:08 pm on June 28th, 2014
Mom and I think Ike needs to stay with Sadie and the Hobbit. Poor little Ike…in a kennel without his big sister. Just think if Rio’s friend had given up on Beau. Rio would be all alone and not have to share his treaties.
8:11 pm on June 28th, 2014
Boo on the other paw, it may be a GOOD thing that Rio has to share 🙂
8:16 pm on June 28th, 2014
Exactly, HOH! That’s what I meant! Rio’s friend was very tempted to give up on Beau and now he and Rio are buds….kind of like Princess Sammie and LouLou.
8:16 pm on June 28th, 2014
BooBear!…You are really onto something there!…snort!…Just think of all the stuff I could have right now that Beau got instead…grump!…This is really ticking me off now…sniff!
8:22 pm on June 28th, 2014
Correction!….My friend never gave up on Beau, but her Mother wanted him Gone!Gone!Gone! because he kept peeing in the house….grumble!…It came to critical blows when Beau became really mad (jealous) one night and jumped up on her mother’s bed and peed on her pillows…gasp!…Even I would never think of such a devious thing to do…wheeze!….There was a HUGE blow-out between Beau and her mother that night. Her mother definitely wanted him gone after that…heh!…But my friend would not do it and eventually Beau settled down, joined the family and soon after he and her mother became very good friends…sniff!…Time does heal all they say…snort!
9:02 pm on June 28th, 2014
Wonderful pictures from Vermont. So nice to see Gillyflower and Tuppence again. And great to see Teddy all grown up.
Oh poor Sadie. I bet she wants to have that Ikette back. I bet she is lonely. Sniff. But I totally understand the resistance to another puppy. Yikes what a lot of work. Barb has the right idea with Lucy.
Rio, we here are very glad that the bible thumping Pug is now in your mother’s good graces.
9:15 pm on June 28th, 2014
Mom once adopted a guinea pig that did a similar thing to her roomie’s pillow 🙂
Mom still chuckles.
9:17 pm on June 28th, 2014
Sneeze!…I was a bad guy when I first got here. But I did not know any different from where I came from….sneeze!…I did what I wanted for all day long back den. Nobody would come home and talk to me or take me on walks or play wiff me…sniff!..Now I have a definitely routinely thing and I like dat. I know what to expect and….sniff!sneeze!…I am very happy here and I do not grump and growl with any of dese guys anymore because I love dem now…snuffle!…Even dat Rio. Even he is my friend…sneeze!
9:37 pm on June 28th, 2014
Staff is right, Lucy has been a dream and trouble free. Sadie would enjoy the company of an old dog just as much as a youngster.
9:51 pm on June 28th, 2014
But…..Ike has already become Sadie’s sibling. He is in a kennel right now wondering what he did wrong.
And that is why Mom is a foster failure and has 17 cats. Once they move in, they never have to leave!
9:52 pm on June 28th, 2014
Hi everyone. Mama and the Storyteller are home from a wonderful day of celebration. The surprise was kept and the Chief was very emotional and very happy. He has been a wonderful spiritual leader and a mentor to so many who came home for the event.

One of the surprises was an all Native blues band fronted by actor Gary Farmer. One of our best friends is the drummer.
9:58 pm on June 28th, 2014
And here us one of the Storyteller and his friend Billy the drummer. They both wore the same shirt to the festival.

Doncha hate it when that happens?
10:01 pm on June 28th, 2014
Aaaacccckkkk! Those Written Kat’s weren’t supposed to post THAT picture.
The shirts they are wearing are called Haudasaunee ribbon shirts, and the pattern on the front is from the Iroquois flag.
Both pretty good looking guys, huh?
10:01 pm on June 28th, 2014
Awww.
Beau: We all love you too! Do you still do cat patrol?
10:03 pm on June 28th, 2014
BooBear, Your mom isn’t failure. She is a hero.
We don’t believe in the concept of foster failures.
10:04 pm on June 28th, 2014
Boo, C Hobbit did not have the option of adoption. Ike was already adopted.
10:07 pm on June 28th, 2014
Aaaacccckkkk! Not THAT picture, you Wrotten Kats.

10:07 pm on June 28th, 2014
Storyteller, Billy, what a perfect foto. Love the faces and the foto and the ribbon shirts. Hope more are to come!
10:42 pm on June 28th, 2014
Sneeze!…I am on Kat-Watch every day of my life, you betcha…snort!sneeeze!cough!
10:46 pm on June 28th, 2014
Wheeze!…Back from our walk finally..grunt!..We got to meet a great big reddish colored lab tonight…wheeze!…Thank goodness she was a sweetie-pie or we both would have been goners…grunt!
10:48 pm on June 28th, 2014
StoryTeller!…He looks like a little kiddie in the first picture sticking his tongue out!…heh!heh!
10:59 pm on June 28th, 2014
Very good looking dudes indeed.
Re: passport, no destination in mind, just something on my bucket list. With my mom’s situation, I don’t know when I will get to travel, but if there is is ever a Plunderfest in New England in the fall, I am THERE. If I have to walk.
11:12 pm on June 28th, 2014
Macy’s Mom – if we see you hitchhiking, we promise to stop and pick you up.
11:23 pm on June 28th, 2014
Tongue-sticker-outer! That Leonard is a master of the art.
19! The Giant will be the 19th musher to draw for his bib number come race time!
Happy birthday to our favorite author!
11:26 pm on June 28th, 2014
BooBear: you have 17 cats? Really?
Yes, I worry that Ikette is in a kennel tonight and tomorrow. Abandoned like he was before I picked him up. The shelter has so many animals that he can’t get attention much less the attention he deserves. They should have had me just keep him until Monday. Boooo.
Sadie still looking at me with mournful eyes. There was a little dog barking in the street and Sadie listened until she realized that it wasn’t Ikette. Sniff.
Taking a break from the block party to check on Sadie.
11:28 pm on June 28th, 2014
We want to be like the Storyteller when we grow up.
11:34 pm on June 28th, 2014
Thieves – funny, the Storyteller says he was chaneling YOU!
11:45 pm on June 28th, 2014
CHobbit!…Being a foster parent can never be easy especially if you know you are giving the little one the best care they can get…sniffle!…You put your heart out on the line and of course it will get broken. But you have laid a good foundation for the little fellow. So once he gets to his new home hopefully he will receive the attention he needs and deserves…sniffle!..You and Sadie did a good job but it is done…chuffle!
11:57 pm on June 28th, 2014
Golinka: It is like he has an inner outlaw and we have an inner storyteller. Channeling—we love it when that happens.
CHobbit: Part of our devil dog lessons we were giving Ikette included some words of wisdom. They sound a lot like what our Lady tells each of us: You are loved by a wonderful Hobbit (we added those last four words). Never forget it.
12:09 am on June 29th, 2014
Rio: where is my kiss?
I wonder if I will meet Ike someday, somewhere on a bike path being walked. Wouldn’t that be nice?
12:33 am on June 29th, 2014
UPDATE: While I was at the block party, I missed a phone call saying that the lady who was die-hard about adopting IKE adopted another dog. So Ike has no home! They had held onto him all day because the person was to adopt Ike and then she didn’t. Boo! Boo! The shelter closed a couple of hours ago so Ike is locked up in a kennel, abandoned just like I feared. The next adoption clinic won’t be until next Saturday. People that put dibs on dogs based on photos need to be at the clinic before it opens so that if they don’t want the dog, it can go to someone else. I was afraid of this very thing happening!
How could anyone not want Ike? Sniff.
12:48 am on June 29th, 2014
A pox on her geraniums. A bird of paradise up her nose. Not want Ike? Hissssssssss.
8:53 pm on July 1st, 2014
These are actually fantastic ideas in regarding blogging.
You have touched some pleasant factors here. Any way keep up wrinting.
