“Why not?” says Spence.

“See this snow shovel in my hand?” says Admin. “That’s why not. Where is global warming when you need it, if I can ask that question without bringing universal internet wrath down on my head?”

Agree with Howlers about home. It’s the best.

Spence, we think it is more accurately Global Climate Change, rather than Global Warming.

Barb opened her big mouth and offered to go in to work for a couple of hours this morning, so now she is stuck with it. After getting an overview yesterday, she realizes that she feels overwhelmed. Everything is totally different than when she left 8 years ago. She is too old to be earning all this new stuff.

For the past several months I have been talking in my sleep. Sometimes I don’t hear myself doing it, but Grizz does, and sometimes I actually CAN here myself.
Right before I turned off the alarm clock this morning, I heard myself ask the Grizz, ” Do you want to try these seasoned turkey burgers?” Yeep!

B&M, There are two old dogs here in this house who say you can do it. In a few days, it will be old hat.

Just want to remind those of you who have HBO, “THE UNIVERSITY OF SING SING” begins it run on HBO on March 31st. I am very proud of the Prof.

Look who’s here, when the sun is up even!

Long night of moving between couch and recliner. (not me) This includes 5 pillows (one under feet, one behind back, one under each arm, and one that I am not sure WHAT he is using it for), one neck pillow, one cotton blanket and one Mickey Mouse blanket, the water bottle, phone, and NO BELLE, because she hurts him. Not that I am complaining, just taking inventory.

Hopefully, I did not kill any of the dogs. I gave them his leftover cereal, not even thinking about the raisin part of raisin bran. I think he had picked most of the out. This is what the sleep deprived brain does.

Today is hopefully going to involve some getting organized. I still haven’t unpacked from Alaska, sigh.

The district office manager, who Barb worked with before retirement has offered to have Barb come over and do some computer training with her. We think that is a great idea. She is going to go over next week for a few hours and see if that helps.

Mom works with people who like to play cricket. Sometimes she goes and watches them, because it gets her out of the office. She does not understand that game at all, and these people do not drink tea during the game.

Siber did a nice job explaining why he likes baseball, and we think those reasons are true for all (or at least most) baseball fans. It is the very slowness of the game, on warm summer nights, that makes it exciting. Mom thinks baseball lends itself to radio more than t.v. There is not much more exciting than listening to a great announcer (Harry Kalas was her favorite) report on what is happening, while you sit outdoors with a beer. It is much better when you listen and drink that beer with your dad right there with you. Sniff

T&G are leaving us in suspense. We are zoning out as we usually do at this time. Nighty night.

MollysMaw!….Idol here in about an hours time…snort!…Someone is debating a walk, but is really tired tonight so I am really hoping for a reprieve…grunt!

Word!…I have word that our Rebecca is back on the road for work today…sniffle!…Tomorrow is the first real day of work for her. I hope she is tip-top ready….wheeze!

Barb, anyone who can explain tin futures like you can will have no problem with this much simpler job. You will catch on to it very quickly I know.

    B. Stover–Cheesecake form is fine, also like any cream pie but with cherry filling (like banana cream, only cherry). (Uh-oh–now I’m REALLY thinking about desserts…
SiberH–And speaking of deserts (with one “S”) I’m sorry we’re not sharing what H2O we get with you guys. Even with a bigger population (and far less sense about what kind of landscaping to do) I wish we were sharing.

Job!…The “new” gal at the super-duper busy-place where my friend goes each day did not work for 10 years….snort!…Then the hot-shot misread her resume and did not notice the 10 year gap. Hired her on the spot…grunt!…We have all been paying for it ever since. He had to teach her how to use email for pete’s sake. She started 3 weeks after my friend started down there and she is still in training….gah!…Counting all my paws and toes its been 6 months now…wheeze!

    B. Stover, rio and anyone else–There are some Pakistani guys who play a sort of reduced-form cricket on my local high school’s blacktop area (which isn’t big enough) in spring. Haven’t seen them yet,but I’ll let you know if you feel like coming to the Big (drought-ridden) Orange…
I’ve never seen them drinking tea, but I usually don’t stick around that long.

I am guessing that the tag about chickens unionizing on the photo of empty egg shelves might refer to a work stoppage by chickens to get better working conditions (and they should!) 🙂

    Glad HOH checked in.
T&G: you are mean to leave us guessing.

T&G: Mom just put on her (dreaded) owl hat and said, “Who, who?”

  98. Barb & Maggie
    8:04 pm on March 26th, 2014

Well Barb can at least send email and even attach docs or photos.

When Barb left her job much more was done by paper rather than computer. 8 years is a long time when it comes to computer technology.

Howlers, You are right, Bermuda was very beautiful and cultured compared to some of the other islands, and also expensive. When Barb and Kelly went in 92, most of their expenses were paid by the company. However they had to buy a few meals and all drinks. At that time beer was about $7. and mixed drinks around $10.
The scariest part was when they rented a scooter and drove around sightseeing. Not only do you have to drive on the other side or the road, but they have those roundabout things which were awful. Barb let Kelly drive, and she rode on the back, with her eyes closed at times.

B&M, sounds like an adventure and a half. Oh, oh, mom’s eyelids are reaching for each other.
Pawsitive thoughts to all under the quilt or traveling or just being. Nighty night.

OMDAWG!….MollysMaw, my friend is still over there in her chair laughing her head off after Harry Connick Jr ran onstage and stole Ryan’s shoe….chorkel!heh!heh!….That guy is a riot and a half…heh!heh!

Sometimes riding with your eyes closed is the only way to go. Snicker.

I am sure that egg joke is to subtle for me.

Pawayers continuing for Rick and Macy’s Ma.

I like baseball for the sense of timelessness I feel when I am watching a game. There is so much history in the game. I don’t get that feeling with any other sport.

  102. Mollypop's Mom
    8:37 pm on March 26th, 2014

Barb, I understand. In Bermuda you have to take a motorcycle. Only the residents are allowed to drive cars. Next problem is you’re driving on the left side of the road and when you come to one of the dreaded roundabouts you enter on the left and automatically exit on the right. Big trouble.

Baseball!….My friend would say Baseball is a beautifully complicated American Art Form that only a very few can master, but all can play…sniff!…I like the scratching, spitting, chewing and sliding in the dirt parts…heh!heh!

Oh, and AJ is on, laughing about seeing Dazell Gorge in the daylight. Cool

Barb, Bermuda on a motor scooter…that sounds like lots of fun, except for being on the wrong side of the road, and then going thru those dreaded roundabouts.

Uh oh – they just had a weather story from Cape Cod – massive power outages, and up to 10 inches of snow.
They also said there was no sense in shoveling since the wind was still blowing so hard, it would blow the snow right back onto the path you shoveled.
    Brrrrrr….

The egg joke was over no one’s head. It was a misfire in my synapses trying to think of something witty. It is actually just a vending machine for eggs. meh.

We are now the proud owners of a walker (need tennis balls to be complete) and a hospital type adjustable table. Tomorrow I inquire about a bed. His belly is so swollen that he can’t lie on his side comfortably, and I can have him sleeping on the couch all day and all night.
