(No) Beginnings

Normally on Sunday we do beginnings, taking a look at the start of a Peter Abrahams novel, including those written under the Spencer Quinn moniker. But instead (hat tip Ben Judah) how about this? Perhaps it will remind readers of the Chet and Bernie novel Paw and Order.

Hey all! Wonder if some dogs are afraid of the drones hovering over them. Kind of a fight or flight thing?
10 of the Elim 11 mushers are out of Safety. Kaci Murringer is just out of White Mountain. Do we have a red lantern in sight?

Mom is sick to death of social distancing! No pun intended.
If only she and three friends could get together for lunch at a local watering hole!
Oh well, one has to do what one has to do doesn’t one?

It really has been an amazing Iditarod. A lot of scratches, the last mushers huddled together due to storm and wide open leads that prevented proceeding. Two major sponsors who announced their sponsorships were ending. A pandemic that pushes the Iditarod to the backside of the Alaska news channels even though there is some coverage.

I am good at being housebound and also apparently very good at avoiding housework which needs done in every room.

Hi, guys! This situation is reminding us of when we were housebound during Hurricane Harvey. Still have electricity and TV, and lots of plans to get things done! Last two days, Mom has been reading, watching TV and playing with the iPad. None of those things are on the list of “get done” things.
