Newsletter News
“Should we explain about the newsletter?” Spence says.
“You do it,” says Admin.
“Well,” Spence says, “there’s going to be a newsletter for us over at Simon and Schuster. All you do is click the link below. There’s some legal mumbo jumbo – “
“Better add that all our legal work is handled by Mumbo and Jumbo, LLP – “
“True. Mumbo’s paralegal actually – “
“Ms. Gobbledygook?”
” – did the document preparation on this. Bottom line – you’re getting only what you sign up for, meaning news, contests, and bonus content from us. No privacy issues whatsoever!”
Welcome Theo in OK and my campadre in AZ.

I signed up.
Good morning all.
9:14 am on April 10th, 2012
Hard to believe but it’s snowing here.
9:14 am on April 10th, 2012
Good morning all. Just read Rebecca’s scary story about the agitated moose. When she talked about standing in the kennel in her highheels it reminded me of Nattie during the Iditarod.
We may have an offer coming in today on the house, but think it will be a low-ball offer. We’ll keep you posted.
Melanie, your pumpkin seeds may arrive today. Hope you are feeling better.

News!…So what? Now we are getting left-over news from facebookie in Chets post…grump!
9:44 am on April 10th, 2012
Good morning, all! The moose story was very scary. We’re glad our scariest time last night was the movie we watched: “Unstoppable”. That was an edge-of-your-seater!
Barb, best of luck with an offer!
Wolfie, great news for your boy!
It is super dry and windy here. Our entire area is under a Red Flag alert for fires. There is a big forest fire in the state forest nearby, and people are being evacuated from homes in the area.
9:46 am on April 10th, 2012
Greetings All!
I signed up too!
B&M: Buena Suerte!
Rio: I think you are right. Are we the step-children over here?
9:52 am on April 10th, 2012
Moose!…I’m gonna go read the Moose Story!…grump!…I may not be back anytime soon…gruffle!puffle!
9:52 am on April 10th, 2012
We signed up too. It wanted a birthdate, so we flipped a coin to see who had to admit their age.
9:58 am on April 10th, 2012
Phillies are not playing today. That may be a blessing.
10:01 am on April 10th, 2012
Good Morning and Good Grief!
We went back to catch up on last nights posts and, while the rest of us were snug in our beds, there was Rebecca battling a Moose (!) with only Kirby to watch helplessly on the sidelines. Gulp! Thankfully the Giant came to the rescue and all is well.
Rio: You are right about the handle on the Pot lid. One of our guys sleeping on the Quilt! What a Great finishing touch!
Golinka: I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: You are Brilliant!
10:37 am on April 10th, 2012
B! What the hey…snow? It is finally warming up here…mid sixties yesterday.
Bella: I hope your heart has slowed down to a normal beat this morning. Is Wyatt okay?
B&M: Paws crossed for good news from the potential home buyer.
Howlers & Rose: We also signed up for the newsletter yesterday…hoping it’s not a duplicate of the one from S&S. When asked for a birth date we never tell it true. I think the question has something to do with legal age, but why don’t they just say: “Are you over 18?” and be done with it. I mean no one is checking IDs at the door.
There’s Cairo from Madrid up top. Wish more of our international FOC would post on the blog.
Hello to the Budster! Stay Safe.
Melanie: Hope you are feeling better this morning.
10:49 am on April 10th, 2012
Masquers, I should start lying about my age more!
10:54 am on April 10th, 2012
My friend, Zelda….
.jpg)
11:03 am on April 10th, 2012
Zelda is very majestic. I love the crossed paws. Brandy used to do that.
11:08 am on April 10th, 2012
Wow – what a story about Rebecca and the Obstreperous Moose!
Rose – what a gorgeous dog Zelda is! What kind of dog is she?
Hey Plunderers – just a note for those of you who didn’t know – the top of the pot is a representation of our quilt, with each square representing a Plunderer. Each and everyone of you is there. Even The Maurauding Goats. (We were afraid that if we didn’t include them, they would play havoc with the shipping). We sent Melanie a picture that we had of the top, and asked her to post it when she has a minute, and if she is feeling up to it.
Barb and Maggie – paws crossed for a FAIR offer!
And now – we are off to the Mud Room
11:12 am on April 10th, 2012
Mom said I could sign up and we all know my mom. She is taking Spence’s word on this.
I was laughing about the pig typo when I came to Rebecca’s moose story. We are glad everyone is safe and hope Wyatt is okay. Moose have killed people and dogs in Alaska. Shoot first and ask questions later.
Barb, GOOD LUCK!!!
Zelda, Another lovely lady.
Fellow Sibers, Unstoppable is a fun movie.
Buddy, The Rockies aren’t playing today either. This may be another blessing. What is up with all our teams? Only the Rangers are winning games.
11:18 am on April 10th, 2012
Spence’s team isn’t doing any better than the others. I just checked the newspaper.
Fellow Sibers, Wildfire! Keep us posted and I hope you don’t have to evacuate.
12:07 pm on April 10th, 2012
Our new pitcher, Wu Darvish, got off to a rocky start last night, but he settled down and wonnit. Because of him, tour groups are coming from Japan all season to see him, which means $$$ in the local coffers.
Another peek into the secret life of Plunderers…

I think this takes you to a list. See: Corgi rodeo.
12:52 pm on April 10th, 2012
Min-Pin: Loved the Corgi rodeo! So that’s what the Royals do for fun. Now we know.
Rose: Zelda looks like a love…sitting there with daintily crossed paws…so very graceful for such a large dog.
The numerical age scrambling is (usually) only in answer to questions from the internet. How dare they!
12:59 pm on April 10th, 2012
B: Zelda does look a little majestic, and queen-like, doesn’t she. The Prof’s sister is here from France, and she is staying and the Wildflower Cottage where Zelda lives with her people.
T&G: Zelda is a very beautiful dog! She is a Japanese Akita, and as big as she is, she is just a big mush!
SiberH: About the only team that is doing well right now are the Mets. They are 4-0.
Siber, you have lovely ladies across the U.S. You could come to New York , and the Prof and I will take you to meet her. (you, sly, dog….)
1:04 pm on April 10th, 2012
Question: T&G, is Theo one of the new friends your type of Royal breed?
1:22 pm on April 10th, 2012
Zelda is gorgeous, Rose!
Siber, we do not live near the forest where the fire is burning, although we do have friends who live close to there.
1:22 pm on April 10th, 2012
Tupper&Gilly: Tutoring from a professional. Get the tape ready!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=03kZSHR2U-A
1:31 pm on April 10th, 2012
Rose – we don’t think Theo is a full Corgi, though he is a handsome dog. He has Corgi features and coloring, but we think maybe he’s a cross with Border Collie.
Macy – Tupper is NOT amused by the rodeo video. She says that Corgis are the Royal steeds of the fairy folk(according to legend) not for some hat-waving, yippee-ki-yo-ing, joyrider in jeans and a bandana!
Gilly on the other hand thinks that looks like more fun than herding a whole pack of fuzzbutts!
1:38 pm on April 10th, 2012
BSD – if we had been there, there wouldn’t have been the second half of the video – tee hee.
1:54 pm on April 10th, 2012
Masquers, yes Zelda’s size belies both her temperament, and her agility. She lost an eye to cancer a while back, but you would never know it. She is quite light on her feet, and is quite the love.
OH: Zelda is quite beautiful. If only she were my dog (sigh).
T&G: Theo is quite the looker. I thought he may have been a royal, but he looked a bit big to me.
2:19 pm on April 10th, 2012
I met my friend the moose outbound on the driveway again this morning. He stared at me. I stared back. It is a lot easier to be tough when you’re in a vehicle.
B&M: I’m thinking positive thoughts for selling your house today! Fair offer, fair offer, fair offer.
2:25 pm on April 10th, 2012
Bella, can the moose get to the dogs while you are gone? And how is brave Wyatt?
2:28 pm on April 10th, 2012
Back from the doctor’s. Hmmm, blood pressure is still high, adding something for that. Having to go back on the ulcer med that didn’t make me sick. The insurance company seemed to think that it actually was okay with them after the doc explained my symptoms on the other one.
Still feel sick but she’s got me on the mend. Patsy is on the job!
Can’t stay upright for long, so I will catch up later. But a birdie told me that a picture of the top of the pot was needed. Everyone is there on the quilt. I will now go under the quilt.
2:49 pm on April 10th, 2012
Melanie: Thank you for posting the photo of the pot lid. If Rio hadn’t mentioned last night about the guy on the quilt we wouldn’t have noticed.
Every time I see this Masterpiece I am in awe once again.
Patsy: Take good care of our girl. Make sure she stays under the Quilt.
SnowBella: We didn’t expect Mr. Moose to make a return visit so soon. Something else to worry about. Please be careful!
3:03 pm on April 10th, 2012
Rebecca described the Northern Lights pot in her post of 2:59 PM on April 9.
3:04 pm on April 10th, 2012
Rose, I would love to come to New York to meet you and Zelda. Mom says I might freak out in the Big City. Jeez
Rebecca, I have the same question as the Howlers. Are the dogs safe from the moose?
Thanks for the picture, Melanie. Take care of yourself and feel better.
.
3:10 pm on April 10th, 2012
Macy, I hope I get to Darvish pitch between now and the World Series. Once in awhle a Rangers game is on one of my channels.
3:48 pm on April 10th, 2012
Melanie: Thanks for the picture! Take good care, and I hope you are back to tip-top soon.
SiberH: The Prof and I do not live in the big city. We are in the suburbs of Westchester County, and our town is just a blip on the map. Zelda lives about an hour away from us in Orange County, in the town of Warwick, right where it touches the tip of New Jersey. Peace and quiet, and lots of fun things for dogs to dig, I mean do.
Rebecca: Yikes!
4:14 pm on April 10th, 2012
Kool story: 100 x 2 – Saturday at Fenway Park
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0CbdzonL2lk&sf3812914=1
5:04 pm on April 10th, 2012
Snowhook Bella: Frightening moose story! I like that you and the dogs protect each other but I wish that moose would take a long hike.
Rose: The Detroit Tigers also have a 4-0 record. They shut out Spence’s team 10-0 last week!
Masquers: That is a cool baseball story. I’d like to see that 100 year old throw out the first pitch on Saturday.
BearSpiritDog: I love Maru videos!
5:19 pm on April 10th, 2012
Great Kat! Do you think the Plunderers will be sitting around still sharing stories at that age?
Rose: That is a nice description of where you and Prof live.
B: I was just thinking about your morning snowfall. Your poor plants must be in shock. I thought it was supposed to be April showers. It is April is it not?
5:26 pm on April 10th, 2012
Fenway!…I watched that video but they never showed the old guy actually throwing the ball at Fenway…grump!…What the hell!…grumble!
5:29 pm on April 10th, 2012
Masquers: I haven’t put any plants out yet so no harm done. (There hasn’t been enough snow to stick just short flurries throughout the day.)
5:55 pm on April 10th, 2012
Rio: That’s because he hasn’t actually thrown the ball at Fenway Park. The opening game is this Saturday, April 14th.
B: We haven’t done much with the plants here either. Last year mom put out the fuchsia plants too soon and now they look like goners.
6:45 pm on April 10th, 2012
Dawson: People are saying the Tigers are serious contenders this year. And I’m glad they put a pounding on those nasty Red Sox.
6:50 pm on April 10th, 2012
Masquers: You and Bear are always welcome here in Westchster. We can take you to meet Zelda…
6:50 pm on April 10th, 2012
Very kool story about Bill throwing out the opening pitch on his 100th birthday. I loved when they all sang “Take Me Out To The Ballgame”.
6:58 pm on April 10th, 2012
Thank you, Rose.

7:19 pm on April 10th, 2012
SIBER! Vhat are you doing vith Macy Min Pin???
Have you no shame?
Macy – you are shameless hussy. (Is right vords, yes?) Vait until Redbone sees picture!
7:28 pm on April 10th, 2012
BSD, Love those pics! Hope the big guy wasn’t hungry.
We started Thunder Dog today, and I think we are half way thru it. Not a very long book, and reading it goes quickly (tempted to say it is an easy r**d). Have also requested Heart of a Killer to read next, since 2 or 3 of you have recommended it. Wookie is right, Thunder Dog is interesting and not at all sappy. The writer is quite an inspiration. He was blinded from the high oxogen used for premature babies in the 40’s and 50’s. As a kid, Barb had a neighbor and friend who was blind for the same reason so that hits home. She always wishes she had not lost touch with her, often wondering where she is today.
7:51 pm on April 10th, 2012
Oh Dawg, It does look like me. It isn’t me!!! It isn’t me, I tell you.
Bear, What have you done? Other than the Rockies losing, there isn’t anything worse in my world than Natasha getting pissed off at me.
8:22 pm on April 10th, 2012
SiberH: This does not look good for you…Like Wolfie said, nothing compares to a warmed scone or something like that.
8:30 pm on April 10th, 2012
Bear, You come back here and fess up as to where you really got that photo.
8:35 pm on April 10th, 2012
Do I have spinach or a min-pin in my teeth? No? Great, I’m ready for my close up?
8:40 pm on April 10th, 2012
Rebecca, We just saw great shots of the Dutch Harbor airport and runway on Deadliest Catch. Mom watches it. I don’t because I get seasick.
8:44 pm on April 10th, 2012
SiberH: Flying into Dutch is not for uneasy fliers. I usually don’t mind flying and have flown in much smaller planes, but I’m not afraid to admit that it made me nervous.
8:45 pm on April 10th, 2012
Also,is NOT ME..no offence Mr. Husky, but, ewwwwwwww.
8:57 pm on April 10th, 2012
Si-berrrrr’s in tro-bbbblle….
Bella – Mama told Dad all about your moose. Dad said that is must be your perfume – that AJ loves you dearly, but this guy loves you “moosely”.
Sometimes Dad cracks us up.
Macy – you can deny it, but that looks like your sweet little self in that picture. Just sayin’
9:26 pm on April 10th, 2012
Bad!…Its been a bad day all around…grump!… Now her mother is sick and we are not sure if its because of all the amazing food she eats all day long – day in and day out…snort!…Zingers, coffee cake, cookies, cheese and crackers, donuts and don’t forget those little candy bars….wheeze!…It all makes my flat head spin when I think about it…sniff!… Tonight she is complaining of a stomach ache and chills, so it might be a flu-like thing drug in by none other than the Kin of the Fence Post Digger…grunt!…Anyways, its been a bad day for all of us here…wuffle!…Except for Beau, he is oblivious…grump!
9:45 pm on April 10th, 2012
Rio: I don’t like hearing that it’s been a bad day for you. Can you and your friend stay in the basement tonight and watch some of your favorite shows and relax?
Royals: My adversary must have moosetaken me for an old flame. Snort!
9:51 pm on April 10th, 2012
Bella – just tell him NO! And tell him that’s your final antler! tee hee.
9:52 pm on April 10th, 2012
Rio, tell her to crawl under the quilt. There is always room, and Melanie might cheer her up.
We are going to say good, Gracie. Sleep well y’all.
9:55 pm on April 10th, 2012
Royals: Matters of the hoof aren’t always easy.
9:57 pm on April 10th, 2012
Basement!…We are in the basement but we have our ears open for anything from above…grunt!…Beau is up there, so anything can happen…sniff!
9:58 pm on April 10th, 2012
Moose!…Youse guys are punny…heh!snort!heh!
10:03 pm on April 10th, 2012
Bella – next time that Bull winkles at you things could get a little rocky.
10:09 pm on April 10th, 2012
Royals: this morning I told him that we moose stop meeting like this.
10:23 pm on April 10th, 2012
Story!…When I read Rebeccas story I may have had moose-givings about him, but now I don’t think he is a totally bad guy…grunt!
10:23 pm on April 10th, 2012
so THAT’S why he had such a long face!
10:26 pm on April 10th, 2012
Bella – maybe he thought you were a single lady, but he was mooseinformed.
10:27 pm on April 10th, 2012
Could be he was just moostified by your beauty.
10:28 pm on April 10th, 2012
Just try to get that past the ipaw spell check!
10:30 pm on April 10th, 2012
Tupper!….Hooves of a feather flock together…grunt!
10:30 pm on April 10th, 2012
So let’s see…..we have Jasper’s Aunt Sissy, Staff’s Maggie, Rio’s friend’s mom, Melanie and Dan under the Quilt. Did I miss anyone? Yes, Staff’s brother who is not the turtle man.
Creator, we ask you to minister each one of our loved ones, tuck them in tightly, and give comfort to those who love them. Amen.
And please let the moose wander off on some other happy trail, never to return!
10:31 pm on April 10th, 2012
You guys are throwing us off our game with your jokes. We meant to say good night Gracie, not good gracie!
10:33 pm on April 10th, 2012
Oh, my dog! Those moose jokes. Youse guys are killing me! Speaking of which, I’d better skedaddle before Siber-H and Macy catch up with me. Seems they didn’t realize they were on Candid Camera.
Hopefully, it will all have been forgotten by tomorrow.
Amen to Wolfie’s prayer.
Bye for today – Bear
10:33 pm on April 10th, 2012
(I had to write something serious because I couldn’t think of a good pun.)
Moost be getting late in the day, heh.
10:40 pm on April 10th, 2012
Bella – maybe you just had the moosefortune of standing under some mooseletoe when he came wandering by. We know you would never try to mooselead him; you weren’t up to any moosechief. It was just one of those mooselaneous moosetakes that can happen. At least you know he’s not a mooseoginist.
Whew. Our spell checker is now sitting and rocking in a corner sobbing softly. So we will say goodnight deer and see you all tomorrow
10:45 pm on April 10th, 2012
Moosed!…Tupper has Moosed us but good…heh!snort!heh!
10:54 pm on April 10th, 2012
Wow, Tupper and Gilly. I don’t think anyone can top that one. I won’t even try. Maggie is in bed and has had her legs and feet rubbed with lotion. When she was in the hospital and I saw her out of her long sleeved shirts and her long pants I realized how dry her skin was. We are on a lotion alert here.
I am in trouble. I have been thinking it was the day to clean up the ‘quilt’ room for about 3 weeks. I have two days left before Dawson arrives and NOTHING has been done. This was a big moostake. I must get right on it. Tomorrow.
Goodnight all. Try to stay out of Mooschief tonight.
Rio, I hope your friends mother feels better soon. When I had the transplant the doctors warned me to stay away from children. I am still a little skittish around them. If they sniff once I am gone.
10:59 pm on April 10th, 2012
Kids!…If they look at me twice I am gone…snort!…Little germ factories thats all they are…grunt!
11:01 pm on April 10th, 2012
Amen to Wolfie’s nice prayer. Glad Maggie made it home today. I am sure she is happy to be there.
Rio, Hope your friend’s mom is better tomorrow…could just be a flu. Kids and their germs are scary.
I hope Snowhook’s moose has moved to Fairbanks.
Night Everyone
11:10 pm on April 10th, 2012
Rio, are you watching the Biggest Loser?
11:11 pm on April 10th, 2012
I started out by telling the moose that I think we should see other species, and finally had to pull out te big guns, “It’s not you, it’s my giant.”
Amen to The wonderful prayer.
11:11 pm on April 10th, 2012
Wolfie!…No!…So don’t tell me anything…grunt!…We watch it on Demand later on….sniff!
11:14 pm on April 10th, 2012
I just arrived home and heading out to clean the kennel. Narry a moose in sight.
11:19 pm on April 10th, 2012
My lips are sealed.
11:19 pm on April 10th, 2012
Clean!…While Rebecca is out cleaning and feeding (give Junior Extra food!)….snort!…I am going to be cleaning a spot in my warm soft bed for my self to snuggle into….wuffle!…Hopefully, we can all sleep soundly tonight with no moosely dreams…gruffle!
