Today our thoughts are with a Plunderer* we were lucky enough to meet at Alamosa Books in Albuquerque on the tour for The Sound and the Furry in 2013.

Our hearts and thoughts are there, also.
8:45 am on December 6th, 2014
Thinking of you, friends.
I love the picture of the balloons. (Wouldn’t want to be in one however.)
Good morning all.
8:52 am on December 6th, 2014
Hat tip to a special Plunderer.
I love the hot air balloons.
Mr. Fireslippers and Staff are back, much to the delight of all cats and kitties who were so relieved they forgot to act aloof. Treats were given but not to me.
8:56 am on December 6th, 2014
Our thoughts are in New Mexico, and we are picturing all of us (yes, even you, Bee) soaring high in those balloons.
We are sorry to have been AWOL last night, of all times. Mom and Pop did an artsy date night. They went to dinner, then an art exhibit at a nearby art gallery, where some of our friends were exhibiting. Then, they went to the Half Moon cafe, right here in Oley, to hear Michael Ronstadt, Serenity Fisher, and our friend Amy. Amy’s husband Charley was too sick to perform, so Amy’s “guitar husband” John filled in. They bicker/banter just like any good husband and wife. All in all, the ‘rents had a good time, while we Howlers sat home alone, in the dark about the goings on of our good friends. Sniff
And have we told youse lately? We love you all. Yes, we do.
9:26 am on December 6th, 2014
Warm thoughts are with our friends in NM and with all of you, always.
9:30 am on December 6th, 2014
Good morning all.
Bluecat said my thoughts exactly.
9:33 am on December 6th, 2014
We send comfort and healing thoughts to our friends in New Mexico.
This has been a year of many, many losses on the blog.
Love the look of the balloons, but we are with Bee. You would never, ever get us up in one. Extreme fear of heights here.

Thank you, Spence, and thank all of you for your thoughts, prayers, and kind words. It truly helps to have such wonderful friends as a support team.
I’m back, I think, kinda and sort of. There is still much to do.
I’m back sooner than expected because I wanted to say thank you and love to all of you and Spence.
A friend is coming over this afternoon to help mom with some physical stuff. I will have to go outside because the guy is terrified of me…sigh. The great outdoors is fine with me.

Yummm
4:14 pm on December 6th, 2014
(Pookey here) I like the sound, and probably the taste, of apple yogurt sauce. I get yogurt every morning with my kibble because I am special. Yummers!
4:20 pm on December 6th, 2014
Pookey, it was supposed to be avacado and yogurt, but we didn’t have that. We substitured apples, and it is a lovely raita!

4:46 pm on December 6th, 2014
That sounds delish, and actually apple sounds better than the avocado.
5:17 pm on December 6th, 2014
Can we have a full review of Chet’s diner? Amalia, what did you have?
Here are two shots of the new/repainted table and 48 year old ladder backs. The 2 upholstery chairs were bought when we moved her two years ago.

5:25 pm on December 6th, 2014
Small!…The second photo is still too small to see…sniff!…Even if I do open it in a new window…grunt!
5:45 pm on December 6th, 2014
If this doesn’t work I give up!
5:46 pm on December 6th, 2014

We think the foto dog is mssing with you, Barb!
6:02 pm on December 6th, 2014
Before you gpt creative, the dinning room set looked loverly….lovrly…..lovrly!
6:11 pm on December 6th, 2014
Sharon, Not quite sure what you mean. I showed a pic the other day with the table and the two white chairs sitting on top. I painted the table top black and the old chairs black. I wish I could upload a 2nd larger shot, but I am having no luck.
6:18 pm on December 6th, 2014
Looking good!
6:21 pm on December 6th, 2014
The black tops and ladderback chairs look great. The menu sounds dlish. We were thinking the Sound of Music with the loverly comments. Like what you are doing with the dining room set!
6:28 pm on December 6th, 2014
Our mom just finished the “Hunger Games” trilogy. Upsetting to say the least. Feel the end was a “write your way out of this” scecnario. We can see why some kids like it but still find it disturbing. Going back to L. Childs, Ian Rankin and the newest J.A. Jance and Kathy Reichs. Perhaps a few older “Abrahams” novels will work too.
6:30 pm on December 6th, 2014
Barb,Magpie,Lucy: wow, Wow, WOW! Your Dining Room Set is Gorgeous!
C.Hobbit: The Boutique! Tomorrow!! Hurray!!!
6:37 pm on December 6th, 2014
Bear, Thanks. Barb loves to repurpose and renew stuff. The table was a find for $55.00 last week, and the chairs were drug up from the basement and repainted. She got them in ’66 or ’67 as a young newly wed. Kept the chairs but not the husband. Humm, maybe she should have done it the other way around! LOL
6:39 pm on December 6th, 2014
Hunger Games. I do not want to read the books or see the movies. I know they are extremely popular but I just don’t want to read about kids killing kids. No way, no how!
6:47 pm on December 6th, 2014
Hunger!…I avoid anything to do with Hunger at all costs…gah!…Even movies, especially movies actually…grunt!…Speaking of food, it must be my supper-bowl time soon…sniff!
6:48 pm on December 6th, 2014
Oh, Barb, you are so creative! Wish our mom could do stuff like that, but alas, she is a creative idiot.
6:49 pm on December 6th, 2014
Barb, I felt like you did about the hunger games and a friend of mine kept telling me to try it because it wasn’t what I thought it would be. Finally when Amazon had it for free, I read the first one and loved it. It’s not about kids killing kids. Then I read the second one and loved that one too. The third one was a bomb to me.
6:55 pm on December 6th, 2014
Popular!…Does not mean they are good or even send a good messages…gurgle!…Now I am Bear-like hungry….sneeze!
Secret!…My friend may or may not be happy with me if I blab this little secret of hers…snuffle!…But this here blog is a “Book Club”, right?…heh!…Every year right round Christmas-Time she reads the Moomin Books by Tove Jansson. It makes her feel much better and they are Moomins so what’s not to love?…snorkel!…She loves the Creeps too…heh!heh!…They are very special always.
6:57 pm on December 6th, 2014
MollysMaw!…Please tell us in your own words what the Hungry Games are about….snort!
7:01 pm on December 6th, 2014
I am not familiar with the Moomin books.
7:03 pm on December 6th, 2014
Big decision…..do we watch a new Hallmark movie, Mr. Miracle, or It’s a Wonderful Life, which we have seen 20 or 30 times.
7:12 pm on December 6th, 2014
Decision!…That is definitely not a BIG decision…grunt! …You should do something entirely different than any of those choices…sniff!
7:13 pm on December 6th, 2014
A decision we will weigh here.
7:14 pm on December 6th, 2014
OK, what?
7:30 pm on December 6th, 2014
Hounds: We didn’t like The Hunger Games Trilogy either…at least the movie version. But I think some might disagree.
Rio! We are so glad you mentioned the Moomin Books! Your sneaky snifkin remark is what led Someone Here on a hunt and these wonderful little books were the Treasure at the end of the search.
7:31 pm on December 6th, 2014
Gah. Someone is using my avatar.
7:46 pm on December 6th, 2014
Rio, I can’t write a review that will do the book justice. Instead I just went out to Amazon and Hunger Games Book 1 has a 4.5 star rating out of 5. This was given by 22,653 reviewers!
8:25 pm on December 6th, 2014
Home again, home again, jiggedy,jig.
We did indeed go off for an adventure today. We wanted to go to one of the shows that we had to cancel out of, just to visit and see our friends. That show was only about 30 miles from Chet’s Diner, and almost right along the way to the show.
Our plan was to leave early this morning, go to Chet’s, go to the big Wegmans in the same town, and then on to the show for the day. But when we got up this morning there was an inch of ice on the road. So we had to leave later and since Chet’s closes at 11 am, we decided to just have breakfast and go to the show. Way too much rain to take any pictures outside, hence the shot of the menu. (I had a lovely egg, cheese and bacon sandwich)
Went to the show and got lots of hugs and support from our friends. We headed back for home late, late in the afternoon, grabbed Gramp and went out for dinner.
Now catching up with all of you.
Siber – welcome back, dear puppy. You and your Mom have been missed, and you are loved.
Boutique! Can’t wait.
8:26 pm on December 6th, 2014
MollysMaw!…I did not want to hear a “review”. I want to hear what they are about and why you like them so much….grunt!
8:28 pm on December 6th, 2014
Bear!…Snufkin is one of my best friends…snort!…He has been for years and years…heh!heh!
8:29 pm on December 6th, 2014
We are so excited we are spinning and splorting! GAH! Tomorrow, TOMorrow, TOMORROW!.
8:44 pm on December 6th, 2014
Tupper’s Mama: I loved the pictue of Storyteller with the Chet’s Diner menu and the picture of that pancake – oh my!
The boutique opens tomorrow!
I never heard of the Moomin and Snufkin. They sound like hobbit names.

Spence. Thank you so much for your post today, it was very special.
SiberH: Thanks for checking in. Please take extra special care of your mom and know how much you both mean to all of us on this here blog.

W & T’s Dad, Is Debbie doing up a big holiday dinner this year?
9:06 pm on December 6th, 2014
They’re back. The ‘rents left us in our nice warm, dry home, andthey went off to do their Christmas shopping. Two hours later, they are home, finished Christmas shopping, and picked up an expensive new device for each of themselves. They like to buy themselves Christmas presents while shopping. Heh heh!
9:29 pm on December 6th, 2014
HOwlers!….That is a good idea and my friend should start doing that too…heh!…As you all know she gets notoriously bad, thoughtless gifts each year from her relatives, “those who know her best”…..grunt!…Maybe if she bought one thing she really wants this would even it all out…sniff!
9:57 pm on December 6th, 2014
Dawson: Those little books are Absolutely Delightful. You should check them out.
Someone asked earlier about choosing between a New Hallmark Movie or the Classic, It’s a Wonderful Life. We would recommend the latter because to us Hallmark movies tend to be a little predictable and bland.
In fact, we are going to find Something Good to Watch right now.
Have to get to bed early to be Bright-Eyed and Bushy-Tailed for the Grand Opening of the Holiday Boutique in the morning.
10:02 pm on December 6th, 2014
We are watching It’s a Wonderful Life. Rio never came back with his suggestions, so we are watching this old movie. You are right, some of the Debbie McComber stories are a little bland.
10:16 pm on December 6th, 2014
Wonderful!….We here are watching A Wonderful Life right now ….snort!…Barb, you made the right decision after all…snorkel!
10:55 pm on December 6th, 2014
Thank you, Rio. Good night all.
11:04 pm on December 6th, 2014
Good night, family.
Sweet dreams and blessings to all of you.
12:15 am on December 7th, 2014
It is true. The Boutique will open tomorrow morning. We delayed the opening because the Giant’s grandpaw passed away this week.
Head bumps to all.
1:07 am on December 7th, 2014
SiberH, glad you checked in. You are in our hearts and have been missed.
