My Very First Post – For Any Newcomers Out There

INAUGURATION DAY – 1/20/2009

Inauguration Day. Don’t know what that means, exactly, but Bernie’s been glued to the TV all day. Bernie and I run the Little Detective Agency. I’ll get into that some other time. The only interesting thing I picked up from the TV is that those two little girls want one of my guys to join their family, my guys meaning a member of what Bernie calls the nation within the nation, namely dogs. Anyway, a great idea! I can’t join their family myself, of course – much too busy and besides, we’re a team, me and Bernie – but I’ve spent some time in the pound and know there are plenty of good candidates there. By the way, just in case you got the idea I can talk, I can’t (and wouldn’t even want to). But I can think, better believe it!

    Wha!?… Are we in a time warp?…snort!…We’ve been here before, haven’t we?…grunt!

BP!… This morning on one of those morning shows, I thought Harry Smith was going to lose it when he was interviewing one of those BP high-up managers… snort!… Usually, Harry can keep his cool, but he was downright MAD at this guy… heh!…At one point he cut the BP guy off saying, “THAT wasn’t the question!!”…and then he ended the interview which was just a bunch of BP bullshit anyway… grump!

BP is just so totally full of bullshit. They don't seem to have a clue and act like they could care less. The really scary thing is, I don't think it is an act. They don't care.

Robots!… Now they have little robots are working very hard at cutting pipe for their next scheme…snort!… Maybe they should get some new brains on the problem…sniff!…I bet some of the Engineering students at the School of Mines could figure it out!… grump!

It isn't so much an issue of getting "new brains" on the problem as much as it is getting "some brains, any brains" on the problem.

    Geeze!!

Scare Crow!… But if they just keep using BP brains… snort!… all solutions lead to ‘How much oil can we siphon to the top?”… grump!… Instead of brains that would work on a solution to stop the spill for good!

Wolfie. What are you talking about brains now? You mean those pink, disgusting looking squishy things in people's heads? Yuck. And, just so you know, NO ONE can top my puppy dog eyes. Ha. At least, Megan says so. She's a weird kid, come to think of it now, mentioning 'two little girls' in the post. Well, she's not TWO little girls, she's just one. So, yeah. But she said once that she had a dream in which her fingers had brains. YUCK!

Chet! Good idea that you made this a post today! A lot of newcomers had come since then! Smiles and tailwags and licks! Lexi.

Mom (Barb) found a bakery that you can look at on line, and they have a lot of treats that might be nice for the shower. If one of you teckies goes to http://www.twopawsupbakery.com, maybe you can figure out how to download some goodies for the shower. Oh, also, my bro,Remy, that got the b-day chicken liver cake, was in a wedding Saturday. He was the ring bearer. I will post a picture of him soon.

She says I'm a pig because I'm 'eating all of it.' So, gotta go fight for my food. Tailwags and licks. Lexi-an awesome dog.

SH and Barb&Maggie: I posted messages to each of you today on yesterday's blog in case you didn't see them.

Hi Diane. I remember this first post also. Wish we heard from you more often. How is Rebecca?

Can everyone on the blog get to older posts? I have them on my Google Reader but I'm not sure how to get there directly from this blog. Just wondering.

What a wonderful first post. The Nation within the Nation keeps us two legged Packs sane. I'm glad you didn't go to the First Family, Chet. You are needed in a different capacity in the world. In fact, the world would be a little sadder without you to tell us stories about you and Bernie.

Hi Stover! I read your post from last night. It all makes sense now. Thanks

I have absolutely no idea how to get to older posts on this blog except the slow, methodical way. I'm glad I started reading Chet's blog almost from day one. I discovered the blog by reading customer reviews of Dog On It on Amazon. Someone mentioned this blog, and I have been a big fan ever since. I don't read any other blogs. Chet is my number one guy.

Hmmm. Just heard that the BP CEO Hayward, the insensitive cad, would like his life back. I can think of many others (including all life forms) that wish the same thing.

Watched a youtube documentary about BP called Slick Operators by Scottish Eye and the Exon Valdiz spill. They were comparing how BP had two different levels of operations, one for Scotland and one for the US.

I don't think anything has changed.

Maxed out! Who was it told me about the dog bakeries? Siber H.? They are all over the place. I was amazed at the stuff and some of it looked and sounded so delish…well, Wolfie, I couldn't resist so I ordered all kinds of thingsfor the Puppy Shower 25 Doggielicious 15 piece Sampler Platters (one each for the Newfs and the rest to share),30 Salmon and Cheese Bon Bons, 100 Scrumptious Liver Pup Cakes, 40 10" Bones, 10 4" bones, 20 Gourmutt Dog Cakes, 100 Fetch It! Sticks with Cheese (I thought we could use some as part of the games to get some of the guys interested), Bichon Bars for the little ones (crunchy peanut butter biscuits dipped in carob and filled with youghurt-buttermilk frosting), Bulldog Bar (a bigger size of the Bichon Bar), Big Scary Kitty's which are a dog treat, oddly enough. Chicken squares, salmon squares, beef squares, turkey squares (all soft and meaty for those like Rio who don't chew), Dogetti, Dogzone, Liver Slivers and 35 Let's Pawty Cakes. Those are full-sized cakes but by his time I was in a frenzy and needed not just one of everything, but one for everyone and their mothers. I told them I'd let the know the exact date of the party. Oh, and no, I didn't forget the cats. Lots for you, but I did forget all the two leggeds. Siber H is making the ice cream. B.Stover is bringing the pie. Sam you probably don't have to make a cake unless you want to.

B.Stover: To read past posts I have always clicked on one of the tags. Now I look Inauguration Day used to be up there and it no longer is. I haven't tried that in some time now and also when you do that the dates are random.

I am so glad the subject of the dog bakeries came up. MOM NEVER TOLD ME ABOUT THEM!! Now that I have been enlightened, she can drive me into the big city to go to the Three Dog Bakery. Dogs are welcome there, and I might take a friend or two. I hope they have salmon squares.

Melanie: Oh yeah, and some Cheese Hydrants and something called Gracie's Rollovers (just because of the name). Too much, huh? So dogs can't just eat like this? Without some Kibble or something? There was a page that had kibble listed but I've heard some of you say it wasn't your favorite, plus on the same page there was something called the Barf Diet and I didn't want to go there. I will cancel some of the food. Maybe.

Stover!….I heard they were starting over with the “Good Wife” series… heh! … They realize they have a HIT on their hands and want as many viewers as they can get the second time around…. Gruff!… It is actually a very good show as TV goes anyway …snort…The fact that they hire theater actors is another reason we will keep watching it!…Oh, and Alan Cumming…heh!

Wow, that sounds great!! Awesome!!! Yummers!!!! Smack, smack, delish!!!!

    Makes me drool!!!

Hopefully, we can borrow a credit card from Spence, or PA, because these things are gonna be pricey!!!

I'm not worried about having too much stuff, because (I can't resist) we can send everyone home with Doggie Bags!!!!!

Still, I think we need to have some real food for the two leggeds. How about a BBQ? Or shoot, why don't just have the thing catered???

Hmmmm……a whole new menu to consider.

Did anyone catch my post about inviting Peanut? She might enjoy a puppy party. We'll have to check with Chet on that one. I'm not sure what the protocol is regarding inviting elephants to puppy showers.

Oh, you know what? That would be a another menu to plan. This is turning into a labor intensive party, but heck, it's worth it.

Wolfie!… How are you going to PAY for all of this stuff…snort!… I think that inviting Peanut, the elephant idea is a little over the top, as we really do not know her/him yet… grunt!… I have the “Mission Team” credit card, but it was stretched to the max on the last trip …cough…Those actors cost way more than one would have expected!… grunt!… And I am just holding my breath while Admin gets their medical bills and hopefully pays them… sigh!

Wolfie!… We here love Buster Posey!… Heh!… Probably because my friend thinks he is just about as handsome and talented as Brad Hawpe… snort!… He is an awesome young baseball player!… gruff!gruff!… Few more minutes and the Game will finally start!….Woooo!

Hi Everybody – Interesting evening here. Mom had two of her computer friends over for some wine and stuff. They hadn't seen each other for at least a million years. Well, at 8:30 one of the cell phones rings and it's a computer problem. Her friend had to leave.

Stover!….Regarding ‘Breaking Bad’; to truly understand the reason why this guy does what he does….snort!…you have to watch from the beginning…sniff!….There is no way to describe him, but as “horrible and awful”, except if you can relate a “little” to why he is doing this in the first place… grunt!…Still! I get great hilarity watching him struggle on his drug lord road to hell with his misfit partner! … gruff! … None of this can end in a good way.

Wolfie – No party hats please, at least not for me. No bows when I get groomed, no bunny ears, no reindeer antlers, nada.

B.Stover: You're right, if you click on the tabs they do come up in reverse chronological order, not random like I said. It has been awhile since I did that.

Barb and Maggie: Yes, I ordered from 3 different bakeries and Two Paws Up was one of them. Don't worry about the bill for the food I ordered. It's already on my credit card. I'm sure I should've showed a little restraint but…I didn't.

I agree: no elephant, even if you think there is enough food. Besides. Just watching all the Newfs and the rest of you will be more than enough entertainment. I just hope I can get some time off work.

Mollypop: I did see a photo of a small poodle with a nice pink party hat with pink feathery stuff and stars but I don't think any self respecting dog would wear it in public. (I could be wrong)

    Any ideas?
