Musical Interlude

Here’s Song For Chet, the song Lotty Pilgrim sings at the end of Heart of Barkness. I’m still amazed and delighted that a real song came out of this book. Some great players on it, including Gene Elders on fiddle.

    Bed!…My friend has been mightily sick this whole week long…sniff!…I had to sleep up there on the big bed with her so she had a cuddle-bunny…wheeze!…We all do things for love…sniff!

    Football!…Now she is finally feeling a bit better just in time for the AFC Wildcard Playoffs!…Yeeep!…Tom Brady is playing for his last big hurrah it “sounds” like….grunt!
