Have we mentioned the Chet and Bernie playlist, on Spotify? All the songs mentioned in the series – while C. and B. ride in the Porsche or when Bernie sings in the shower – plus some that will be!

Good morning! Thanks for the tip, Admin. We like being able to find C&B’s playlist. Not only that, but this post reminded Mom to start her own playlist on Spotify. This was something she has been meaning to do.
8:56 am on December 28th, 2013
To see the list one has to sign up for Spotify which I haven’t done at this point. (How many ads will I get via email if I do?)
Good morning all.
8:58 am on December 28th, 2013
Good morning, everyone! Have a simply super Saturday. (Ha, we double alliterated!)
9:56 am on December 28th, 2013
Good morning!
B: You have the option of signing in with your facebookie account.
Howlers: Our own list! That’s a kool idea.
Our pixie is home with the Giant. Yay!
HOH: We are simply looking forward to a super Saturday.

To kind of quote our resident questioner:
What the heck is a Spotify? It sounds like something you don’t want to catch!
10:03 am on December 28th, 2013
Speaking of doubles, We have Genevieve and Jean Luc and Marlon and Bailey on the side, Wowser double doubles!
10:16 am on December 28th, 2013
I don’t think Barb is going to sign up for it either.
Right now she is baking some peanut butter bones for me,me,me. First batch is in the baker right now. Will go check it out.
Oh, and good Saturday morning everyone.

Spotify is one of those free apps that hasbeen on our ipaw forever, but we do not take advantage of it much. This morning, we made our very own playlist, which is only 6 songs so far. We did not have to pay for songs, so it is a lot like Pandora, except you can search for specific songs or artists.
10:30 am on December 28th, 2013
T&G are making me laugh.
According to the Howlers description, Spotify sounds similar to Audible except it’s for downloading music rather than books. (Audible charges a monthly fee for which one gets “credits” towards a purchase.)

To all those who have lost animals, this quote is from The Meta Picture. It relates a story of a family dog being euthanized at home because of cancer. Afterwards the family was discussing why it is that animal lives are so much shorter than human ones. The six year old boy said he knew why…
“People are born so that they can learn how to live a good life–like loving everybody all the time and being nice, right? Well, dogs already know how to do that so they don’t have to stay as long.”
10:44 am on December 28th, 2013
What an intelligent child! That is exactly the reason.
10:51 am on December 28th, 2013
That is so true Hobbit.
Barb is a little miffed at me. I just lapped up some of the uncooked batter for the doggie biscuits. She thinks about the equivalent of 4-6 bones. It is flour, baking powder, egg, peanut butter, and water. That won’t make me sick will it?

Because of the dogs on this blog we were mostly prepared when our neice brought the two dogs here just before Christmas. We moved stuff off of the lower shelves in the pantry and made sure all the garbage was put outside in the dumpsters instead of sitting in the kitchen garbage bin until it is over full, the way it usually does.
We also took birthday cake off low shelves in the dining room and put away the leftovers from supper immediately! Heh. We didn’t have any problems but the dogs were on their leashes whenever they were out of the bedroom.
11:07 am on December 28th, 2013
Maggie, once it is cooked no problemo.

Greetings!
Grizz and I just returned from breakfast, and stopped by to say hello to the nice folks who own the cabin. We will be here until Momday. Tonight, we are going to go outside and watch the space station fly by. Otherwise, it is R&R. We will watch some DVDs we brought up with us.
11:12 am on December 28th, 2013
Yesterday cousin Maya the Pug came to play with Loulou. They had a great time!

11:15 am on December 28th, 2013
HOH, It wasn’t cooked. I lapped the batter out of the bowl. The recipe was to make 16 bones, which is what we ended up with, but I think it would have made 20.
11:15 am on December 28th, 2013
Here’s Maya in her sweater. Adorable.
AbbieKat, Maya’s just one year old so that may be why she’s slim.

11:15 am on December 28th, 2013
huh. A double Dawson by two bloggers…
Oops
And here is Sundays forecast for MN. I think I will test my Anchorage clothing…
11:23 am on December 28th, 2013
Yeep! Cold , cold. cold.
11:43 am on December 28th, 2013
HOH, That is only the ‘feels like’ temps. They are exaggerating. You know the weather people love to do that. The coldest actual temps are only about -15. According to NOAA the wind chill will only be in the -30 range.
Only. heh heh heh And I won’t be standing around waiting for a race to start.
11:46 am on December 28th, 2013
I would like to see the playlist, but I hate signing up for anything and then getting junk emails.
Maggie, I don’t think what you ate will make you sick. You might have a touch of the runs but nothing serious.
Staff, That is very cold.
Staff, What happened with the 7 boxes of jello for Christmas dinner?
Good Morning All
11:54 am on December 28th, 2013
Staff, You and Loulou’s mom will be the best prepared for the Way up North cold. It is a balmy 49 degrees here. Mom was sweating in her hoodie!
Pop came home in the not so wee hours of the morning, when we were fast asleep. He got up, ate eggs, cleaned stalls, and went back to work. This is a different sort of definition of “holidays” than what we were given to believe.
12:22 pm on December 28th, 2013
Ho, ho, no????
12:25 pm on December 28th, 2013
My mama is home. To welcome her home I let her hold me in her arms and give me tummies. I have her many, many kisses. Mama is home and all is right with my world.
12:30 pm on December 28th, 2013
Loulou is having fun with playmates. Wyatt is safe with his mama. Staff is plagarizing AbbyCat. All is good.
12:31 pm on December 28th, 2013
Wyatt – so glad your mama is home with you and the Giant. Make sure to sit on her, and don’t let her out of your sight. We thought our Mama was home forever too, but she left us all alone and abandoned (except for Gramp) last night. Don’t let your mama ever leave you again to go to work, or fly to the top of the world or even go to the store. Tell her to have your kibble delivered.
1:06 pm on December 28th, 2013
You guys are wonderful today.
I have been out and about 9:30. Time for a rest.
1:38 pm on December 28th, 2013
Staff: We all know how weather(kats)men like to exaggerate.
Maggie: Siber knows…no doubt he has…been there, done that.
2:14 pm on December 28th, 2013
Dear Mr.Husky,
The jello. That is a sad sad tale. sniff
Mr.Staff only reads every other word of directions. He read Stir until the jello dissolves in hot water. And his mind said place jello in hot water and stir for 3 seconds. So it was not dissolved at all.
Then he figured if he got it really really cold it would freeze and that would be the same as jelling. Hummph.
When it was finally done…(the last few layers were perfect after Staff discussed his dissolving technique for an endless amount of time and showed him the secret of ice cubes in the ‘cold’ water.) He ‘finished’ it on the day after Christmas.
When it was finally done layers number 3 and 4 were a moist muddy colored slurry with the good layers jelled on top and one layer, that he jelled in the freezer before putting it in the pan, sort of clumping in the middle.
No one was willing to try it including Mr.Staff. I wish I had thought to take pictures.
2:26 pm on December 28th, 2013
Staff – hee hee hee
2:33 pm on December 28th, 2013
T&G: my mama doesn’t even see to it that we have Gramp with us when she leaves. She just puts Luna in charge and then the Giant or vice versa. She will be with me until she is gone again. Until then, I’m going to let her hold me and give me tummies. I also like to sniff her breath when she talks jus like she did with me when I had puppy breath.
2:52 pm on December 28th, 2013
I see Nana has left a task half undone. She got the Light Bulbs for the ceiling light screwed in, but is having trouble with the cover. Maybe best to leave until Someone Taller comes along.
We Here love Pandora.
As B & Siber-H mentioned…every time you “join” something the emails begin…so true.
Wyatt: Ah, Yes, Puppy Breath. Who can resist?
3:00 pm on December 28th, 2013
Staff, We know exactly how it goes. Mr. Staff is related to my dad.
3:20 pm on December 28th, 2013
Mr.Staff!….snort!….He is never going to live this one down…chorkel!
3:22 pm on December 28th, 2013
Nana!…No one is taller than Nana except maybe those Giants…snort!
3:52 pm on December 28th, 2013
For what it’s worth, we have never gotten emails from Spotify.
4:29 pm on December 28th, 2013
MPM: When will Maya get evil? Does that happen in her second year? We never met an evil pug we didn’t like. The same can be said of Slim Jims come to that.
We fail to see any errors in Mr. Staff’s logic. That guy must be a genius. We can’t wait to meet him.
4:32 pm on December 28th, 2013
Staff!….Don’t let Mr. Staff offer to cook for the gang while youse guys are in Alaska…heh!heh!
4:42 pm on December 28th, 2013
I don’t know if the jello or the singed slippers are the best of Mr. Staff.
Maya is cute. LuLu and Mya are a pair of whirling dervishes.
4:43 pm on December 28th, 2013
at least NOT Jello!
4:44 pm on December 28th, 2013
…cooked by Mr. Staff…Heh, heh.
4:45 pm on December 28th, 2013
Shenanigans!….For a while there I thought Mr. Staff was going to get out of 2013 without any Shenanigans under his belt….snort!….He got this one in under the wire…heh!heh!
4:47 pm on December 28th, 2013
Maya will NEVER be evil. There is only one who holds that title, although it is obviously a misnomer.
4:59 pm on December 28th, 2013
I think Mr. Staff likes to keep us on our claws. Well done, Mr. Staff. We couldn’t be more proud of your eleventh hour success.
5:02 pm on December 28th, 2013
Mr. Staff & Siber’s dad twins?
5:11 pm on December 28th, 2013
Twins!…How come we never here any stories about SiberH’s Paw?…sniff!sniff!….Sounds like we are missing out on some fun times…heh!heh!
5:16 pm on December 28th, 2013
Does the Giant ever get up to any shenanigans? We doubt it, but our Lady says yes. All the time. Maybe there are triplets among us.
5:23 pm on December 28th, 2013
Mr. Staff, You make us Laugh.
5:25 pm on December 28th, 2013
Pancho&Lefty: The Giant is purrfect in our book.
5:33 pm on December 28th, 2013
We were invited to a holiday party tonight. O.K., we weren’t exactly invited, but Mom and Pop were. Since Pop is still at work, we figured they weren’t going. But now we learned that the guy who was having the party fell thru a bad floorboard in his barn today, and is in ICU. He injured his spleen, has a compound fracture of his arm, and smashed his face. Please send pawsitive thoughts his way. This couple are good friends of ours.
5:38 pm on December 28th, 2013
Prayers are being offered. A corner of the Quilt for your friend is probably in order, too.
5:39 pm on December 28th, 2013
O’Howlers: Pawsitive Prayers are coming his way!!!
5:45 pm on December 28th, 2013
Rio, This was all before my time but I can tell you about the time my dad and a neighbor blew up a metal bucket with fireworks.
Or, the time my folks had a model airplane, a glider, and mom told dad not to fly the airplane in the same area their dog was in. Dad did, the dog quickly destroyed it, and mom said, “I told you so”.
Fellow Sibers, Thoughts and prayers for your friends. That was a rough accident.
5:48 pm on December 28th, 2013
Siber: Your dad sounds like a kool dude.
5:49 pm on December 28th, 2013
Good Dog! What is it about lofts and December. From here on out NO ONE is allowed to go into a loft in December
That includes Zoë.
We are praying for your friend.
5:52 pm on December 28th, 2013
Howlers, that sound a little like Zoe’s accident last year. We will keep your friend in our thoughts and prayers.
5:52 pm on December 28th, 2013
Thanks melanie. Yep. We thought of Zoë as soon as we heard about John.
6:03 pm on December 28th, 2013
Howlers Friend is in our prayers.
6:22 pm on December 28th, 2013
Staff, be sure to have Mr. Staff make some Jello for Molly’s Mom when you’re up North. She will love it! (Giggle) Don’t tell her I suggested it. Let it be a surprise.
6:26 pm on December 28th, 2013
Tortoise!….HA! My friend left to get pizza without me and when she came back she found out she missed the Head on a Tortoise episode of Breaking Bad…heh!heh!…Serves her!
6:28 pm on December 28th, 2013
WAIT!…That might have been a Preview…sniff!…Seems the guy who’s head ends up on the tortoise is still alive at the beginning of this episode…snort!….My friend is very happy!
6:29 pm on December 28th, 2013
Yeep!…Well he is no longer alive, but the tortoise still is, for a while….wheeze!
6:32 pm on December 28th, 2013
Riö: There seems to be a 5th season of Damages. We are checking it out as we speak.
6:34 pm on December 28th, 2013
Maskers!…No Way!…snort!…When is it on?…gasp!
7:05 pm on December 28th, 2013
Poor tortoise!
7:09 pm on December 28th, 2013
Barb!…That tortoise is in the actors union. Nothing will really happen to him when that bomb…well, you know….snort!
7:32 pm on December 28th, 2013
Perfect? The Giant has had his fair share of shenanigans. I am glad to share them —-like time he took a short cut to shaving that included fire—when all youse come north to Alaska.
7:35 pm on December 28th, 2013
Bellie!…That’s not fair. What about all the rest of us who cannot or will not go to Alaska to hear stories about The Giant?….sniff!…When are we going to hear all those stories?…hmmmm!
7:51 pm on December 28th, 2013
Belly! Sounds like good stories for around the campfire. Brrrrr
8:03 pm on December 28th, 2013
Rio: the evil pug is in the details.
Howlers: They will be good stories if I’m telling them. If that damn pixie who stole my sparkles tells them they will be a bore. She isn’t funny and failed to graduate from Wookie’s School of Comedic Timing and Bowtie Tying. What a disappointment…
8:05 pm on December 28th, 2013
Giant stories or no – we are still sure Mama won’t be in Alaska freezing her patooties off. She will just have to bribe one of the trekkers to tape the stories surreptitiously.
And right now, she finally took the hint and put a batch of pumpkin/yogurt dog cookies in the oven. Oh, how can we ever wait until tomorrow to sample them?
8:12 pm on December 28th, 2013
Golinka: You’ve heard some of the stories at that little event you organized when she visited you, you, you. As I understand it, she was so boring she put Kat to sleep. Giggle.
8:16 pm on December 28th, 2013
Putting Kat to sleep. Hmmmmm……not much needed for that.

8:21 pm on December 28th, 2013
OH’s, prayers for your friend. That sounds like a terrible fall. Thank Kat that 2013 is almost over.
Dad is finally back to feeling almost human. Neither Mom or Dad is prone to getting the flu, so this has been an eye opener. Dad’s immune system is somewhat compromised so this year…wow, did he ever catch the flu. Today has been the first day when he felt good enough to get out of the house for a little while. Starting to do normal things makes your feel more normal (if that makes any sense.).
Anyway, Mom wants to say thank you guys for the support and prayers. Power of the Plunderers is great.
Also, thank you for the posting about clothing for Alaska yesterday. Mom is going to go back and make some notes so she can get some winter gear ordered. The trip North to Alaska is coming up quick!!! GO SNOWHOOK!!!!!
8:21 pm on December 28th, 2013
Belly, my momma thought The Pixie was very interesting and funny. Me? I had no idea what she was talking about. I was too busy sleeping on Aunt MPM’s foot cushion.
8:28 pm on December 28th, 2013
Boo: our mom wants y’all to know we understand things. Mom has never had things go wrong till this year, much like your dad. take one thing out and???
Still hope all is ok.;
8:39 pm on December 28th, 2013
BooBear, we are so happy to hear that your dad is on the mend. The flu is very very bad. Mom had flu twice in her life; both times, she was bedridden for a full week. One time, Pop had to feed her and Boris did not leave her side except once a day when Dad was right there.
8:44 pm on December 28th, 2013
Truman: You’ll find medicinal Slim Jim’s under the Quilt, a great pillow and a great pillow in training.
9:00 pm on December 28th, 2013
BooBear: WhooHooo! Glad your Dad is up and around and almost human again. Will his immune system recover over time or always be compromised?
In defense of Mr. Staff: He is not a bad cook using a crock pot. Also, he is not a picky eater and he knows where to get the best pizza! I am surprised that a true North Dakota man could screw up so badly while making jello – a North Dakota staple.
Prayers going out to O’Howlers friend.
I’m off to play some cards. I hope my losing streak has ended.
9:00 pm on December 28th, 2013
Mr.Staff was sure he could do this layered thing because he can do regular jello (1 box) and put a can of fruit cocktail in it. He is a pro at that. How could it be any more difficult? snicker.
9:03 pm on December 28th, 2013
The Giant is a pizza kind-of-sir, too. They have to be twins.
9:13 pm on December 28th, 2013
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzxz-We interrupt this sleep with the following two comments.

Tree!…I can tell my friend is contemplating taking down my little tree tomorrow..grump!…She says she needs the room to put up a humidifier…sniff!…There is way too much static electricity down here and when she uses her exercise machine it is really bad…grunt!…She is a walking light bulb after she gets off that machine…zeeep!…I run away when she gets close. Do not pet me! Do not pet me!…yeeepppp!
10:13 pm on December 28th, 2013
We have static electricity here too. Alice usually likes to sniff our fingers. heh heh heh. Not lately.
10:19 pm on December 28th, 2013
We are happy to hear about Truman’s continued recovery. Keep it up Big Guy!
Melanie, that comment made perfect sense to Barb.
Jello with canned fruit cocktail. Haven’t had that in about 30-40 years! Do people still eat that?
10:25 pm on December 28th, 2013
Barb: my sister and I just had this discussion about jello. She brought some kind of orange jello with a top layer of jello+ cream cheese to Christmas dinner. She said that it is a tradition to bring some kind of strange jello to dinner even if it doesn’t get eaten. The women around the table seem to have fond memories of lime jello mixed with cottage cheese, pineapple and walnuts. I once made it years ago and took it to a staff potluck and no one ate it. Lesson learned.
10:29 pm on December 28th, 2013
Prayers to all who need them.
I am going to bundle up and walk the dog. It is warmer today (+20) but ever since reading all the cold weather tips, I’ve been bundling up so much I can hardly zip up my coat.
10:40 pm on December 28th, 2013
CHobbit!…Are you sure you are not being Betty White tonight?…heh!heh!snort!…That last post of yours sounds exactly like something Betty would say…heh!
10:42 pm on December 28th, 2013
Melanie!…I will need that sentence broken down before it makes any sense to me…sniff!…How do you explain all those Hads?…grunt!
10:49 pm on December 28th, 2013
Rio, it’s all in the cadence! Mom said it does make sense and she’s no English major!,
10:50 pm on December 28th, 2013
C.Hobbit, Barb’s mom used to make red jello with fruit cocktail and sliced banana. It was actually pretty good, at least back in the day.
Rio, use half of the hads in the sentence, then put in a comma and use the other half.
10:52 pm on December 28th, 2013
BooBear!…I can cadence it into believability, but there is no need for all those Hads, even so…sniff!…I think they could lose two and still keep the meaning…grunt!

11:13 pm on December 28th, 2013
We think you are right Rio, You could lose 2 of the hads and still have the same meaning.
Thanks, Staff, for the Jello video.
North Dakota blizzard is on the news. Are you glad you are in Minnesota?
Now, good night from us.
11:15 pm on December 28th, 2013
My dad loves the fruit cocktail in red jello.
Mom likes the lime jello mixture that C.Hobbit described.
Night All

Gah!…Jello!
Blizzard!…We here hate to hear news of a blizzard…grump!…Hate those damned storms…sniff! …No where to pee, no where to poop. Life becomes unbearable very quickly…wheeze!
11:31 pm on December 28th, 2013
Rio: I have a ways to go before I am 90 but hopefully I will still have a sense of humor.
11:32 pm on December 28th, 2013
Mr.Staff is facebookie friends with a neighbor and he had lots of trouble driving home today after dropping his daughter off in Fargo for a flight out. He put a picture up of the Interstate and you could hardly see the road. It’s a 60 mile drive. We are supposed to get it tomorrow. Friday and today it was warm and nice here.
11:37 pm on December 28th, 2013
CHobbit!…I was not comparing your ages, I was comparing your funny-bones…heh!heh!…Sometimes you sound just like B.White.Hobbit to me!…snort!

Goodnight all. Everyone under the quilt take care. And the rest of you stay well.

Bad!….Her mother is still UP! Watching Breaking Bad…snort!…She just asked if the next episode is worth staying up for….heh!heh!…My friend said every episode of Breaking Bad is worth staying up for…chuffle!…It is waaay past her mother’s normal bedtime. I believe, she sleeps better if she stays up longer….snuffle!…She sleeps better and she is in a better mood in the morning… guffle!
