Music To Solve Cases By

Have we mentioned the Chet and Bernie playlist, on Spotify? All the songs mentioned in the series – while C. and B. ride in the Porsche or when Bernie sings in the shower – plus some that will be!

Good morning! Thanks for the tip, Admin. We like being able to find C&B’s playlist. Not only that, but this post reminded Mom to start her own playlist on Spotify. This was something she has been meaning to do.

To see the list one has to sign up for Spotify which I haven’t done at this point. (How many ads will I get via email if I do?)

    Good morning all.

Spotify is one of those free apps that hasbeen on our ipaw forever, but we do not take advantage of it much. This morning, we made our very own playlist, which is only 6 songs so far. We did not have to pay for songs, so it is a lot like Pandora, except you can search for specific songs or artists.

    T&G are making me laugh.

According to the Howlers description, Spotify sounds similar to Audible except it’s for downloading music rather than books. (Audible charges a monthly fee for which one gets “credits” towards a purchase.)

To all those who have lost animals, this quote is from The Meta Picture. It relates a story of a family dog being euthanized at home because of cancer. Afterwards the family was discussing why it is that animal lives are so much shorter than human ones. The six year old boy said he knew why…

“People are born so that they can learn how to live a good life–like loving everybody all the time and being nice, right? Well, dogs already know how to do that so they don’t have to stay as long.”

    That is so true Hobbit.

Barb is a little miffed at me. I just lapped up some of the uncooked batter for the doggie biscuits. She thinks about the equivalent of 4-6 bones. It is flour, baking powder, egg, peanut butter, and water. That won’t make me sick will it?

Because of the dogs on this blog we were mostly prepared when our neice brought the two dogs here just before Christmas. We moved stuff off of the lower shelves in the pantry and made sure all the garbage was put outside in the dumpsters instead of sitting in the kitchen garbage bin until it is over full, the way it usually does.

We also took birthday cake off low shelves in the dining room and put away the leftovers from supper immediately! Heh. We didn’t have any problems but the dogs were on their leashes whenever they were out of the bedroom.

Pop came home in the not so wee hours of the morning, when we were fast asleep. He got up, ate eggs, cleaned stalls, and went back to work. This is a different sort of definition of “holidays” than what we were given to believe.

    Dear Mr.Husky,
The jello. That is a sad sad tale. sniff

Mr.Staff only reads every other word of directions. He read Stir until the jello dissolves in hot water. And his mind said place jello in hot water and stir for 3 seconds. So it was not dissolved at all.

Then he figured if he got it really really cold it would freeze and that would be the same as jelling. Hummph.

When it was finally done…(the last few layers were perfect after Staff discussed his dissolving technique for an endless amount of time and showed him the secret of ice cubes in the ‘cold’ water.) He ‘finished’ it on the day after Christmas.

When it was finally done layers number 3 and 4 were a moist muddy colored slurry with the good layers jelled on top and one layer, that he jelled in the freezer before putting it in the pan, sort of clumping in the middle.

No one was willing to try it including Mr.Staff. I wish I had thought to take pictures.

Barb: my sister and I just had this discussion about jello. She brought some kind of orange jello with a top layer of jello+ cream cheese to Christmas dinner. She said that it is a tradition to bring some kind of strange jello to dinner even if it doesn’t get eaten. The women around the table seem to have fond memories of lime jello mixed with cottage cheese, pineapple and walnuts. I once made it years ago and took it to a staff potluck and no one ate it. Lesson learned.

C.Hobbit, Barb’s mom used to make red jello with fruit cocktail and sliced banana. It was actually pretty good, at least back in the day.

Rio, use half of the hads in the sentence, then put in a comma and use the other half.

BooBear!…I can cadence it into believability, but there is no need for all those Hads, even so…sniff!…I think they could lose two and still keep the meaning…grunt!

Mr.Staff is facebookie friends with a neighbor and he had lots of trouble driving home today after dropping his daughter off in Fargo for a flight out. He put a picture up of the Interstate and you could hardly see the road. It’s a 60 mile drive. We are supposed to get it tomorrow. Friday and today it was warm and nice here.
