That is a great story. Thanks for posting it, Spence.
Amalia, How is your brother doing and did he go back to his apartment?
Macy, we are happy to say that you have sounded more upbeat the last few days.
Loved all the pictures from yesterday. Vermont is a state where Barb has never visited, as well as Maine and New Hampshire. It looks beautiful up there. May have to put that area on the bucket list.
8:11 am on June 25th, 2014
Good morning,B&M and everyone! Welcome Hans, quite a looker. Enjoy happy ending dog stories. Barb, like you, mom has never been to Maine, Vermont or New Hampshire…someday. We were close in Mass.
Have a wonderful, wistful Wednesday.

If any travelers want to revisit the train trip from last March we can do the same thing. You take the I 90 and get off at Albany and go straight into Vermont. It’s basically the same trip. And in the summer there won’t be a problem with a snow emergency and not being able to see Niagara Falls.
9:06 am on June 25th, 2014
Good morning, everyone. Hans, you look like a Chet friend for sure. Welcome!
Zeus read that story about Murphy, and he says “See I told you so”. He says that is why he is never happy outdoors without Mom or Pop there with him. I told him I could take care of him. Oh yes I can. For some reason, he doesn’t believe me.
Auntie MPM, How do I buy a trin ticket to come up to se you you you? Will you take me to see the Falls and Vermont? Pretty please? Mom says she is staying put. But you know me: I am a traveler.

We were wondering when OFA will release his book signing schedule. The time is getting closer.
9:33 am on June 25th, 2014
I’m glad that Murphy is home and doing well.
Good morning all.
9:49 am on June 25th, 2014
Nice Story about Murphy. You know us & Happy Endings.
Kat: A Traveler you are. We remember your first big trip. The very First Plunderfest on the East Coast.
Wondering the same thing here…the publishing schedule has been released…now for the very important Book Signing Schedule.
Good Morning: Barb&Magpie, MollyPop’s Mom, O’Howlers, Hounds, B and All.

Greetings!
What a day yesterday was! Grizz and I just got back from breakfast. It is rainy here today, so plans may have to be altered.
RIO! Lots of pictures were taken yesterday, but I am not sure if there is one with just me and you. I do think the picture of you looking out over the green hills may be a great calendar picture.
It was so much fun to see Amalia, Leonard, Debbie, and Maury again! Plus I met Tupper and Gilly, and got to see mu bestest Buddy Teddy again too.
9:56 am on June 25th, 2014
Good morning everyone
We were just looking at the Simon and Schuster web site. So far nothing there about the book tour. We wonder if they don’t announce that until closer to the pub date
A Plunderfest in Vermont could be great fun. But we would need a BIG house!
10:06 am on June 25th, 2014
Amalia, we should start working on a 2015 fall get together. New England in the fall would be wonderful.
10:07 am on June 25th, 2014
Good morning all. Thanks Barb. I have been too busy to be down. Tomorrow may be a different story. Stay tuned.
Relatives of a friend came by yesterday and bought $170 worth of knives. The shop is doing better as “out of business” than it was when in business.
Time to go to water walking, then wonderfluffing, then mom’s church garage sale set-up to revisit all my junk I sent over after my sale.

Did anyone watch the Rozzoli and Isles episode last night? It was a tasteful and touching tribute to Lee Thompson Young who played the part of Rozzoli’s partner Barry Frost in the series. He died of a self inflicted gunshot wound after being diagnosed with bipolar disorder and depression. The show was a real tearjerker, and it seemed that the actors were not acting but speaking from their hearts.
10:23 am on June 25th, 2014
Macy, what is water walking? Does that mean you have had a lot of rain and you are walking on water?
BTW, Lee Thompson Young was only 29. So sad. Such a talented young man.
Barb is off for eye exam and shopping for new glasses.

News from the home front: brother is still here, but says he is moving back to his rathole…..ummmm, apartment today. But so far no signs of packing.
Tomorrow, I take him to the thoracic surgeon for post op check. That’s when we will find out about chemo.
Brother is still very much in denial – no one told him about chemo, emphesema, cancer etc. Of course he doesn’t think he has a responsibility to ask or anything. sigh.
He has decided not to attend cancer support group as “they can’t offer anything”. Yup, he knows it all.
Not my circus, not my monkeys.

Barb, we didn’t watch R&I yet, but it is on our DVR. We’ll be sure to watch it, but it will probably have to wait until bad weather. We never watch t.v. in summer unless we have stormy weather, or …
Did we tell youse that we are getting our porch floor replaced? The guy said it would take him 4 or 5 days. We are now on Day 9. Mom makes us guys stay indoors a lot when he is here. Something about wet paint and nails. She hates having someone here, so actually, we have been watching more t.v. than usual.
12:10 pm on June 25th, 2014
Love the story with the happy ending…sniff, but it is a good sniff.
Macy’s Mom, I do not like the thought of water walking. What are you doing? Be careful!
Thanks for all the beautiful pictures of Vermont. It is so green.

Siber-H: Wild goings-on in the Match between Uruguay and Italy!
The unusual (but not for him) Vampire-like conduct was beyond distasteful.

Bear, They need to do something about the soccer player that bites. A muzzle might be the way to go.

Macy’s Mom can walk on water? I knew she was strong but this is a surprise!
For those of you worried about the 8.0 earthquake in Alaska a few days ago, someone in Fairbanks made this map to put it in perspective:

I just got a promotional email from Amazon…”Thrillers I might be Interested in.”
Paw and Order is one of them! WOO WOO
2:58 pm on June 25th, 2014
Mr. Siber H, you must be really special to get that π We are going out for a bit to help mom water the containers. Even with rain, 90+*F tends to wilt thangs in pots π

Just a quick hello on my dad’s smart phonie. Great day yesterday and great day today. Just finished a hike up Mount Tom with Wose and the Grizz. It was great fun. More later and maybe some photos too.
3:23 pm on June 25th, 2014
Teddy: Hi to You & your Folks, Wose & Grizz!
Hikes are the Best. Photos of Plunderer Friends are the Bestest.
3:59 pm on June 25th, 2014
Brother has gone home.
Now, it’s just Gramp making us crazy.
Glad the weather cleared up for the Vermonters. Mt Tom is lovely.
4:43 pm on June 25th, 2014
Tupper’s Mama: We think someone already asked this question but we’ve Forgotten your answer. How far was the drive to Plunderfest Vermont?
Hugs to all of youse. Sending Prayers that things will work out for your brother.

Those of youse who were in Alaska and went to Whittier, a felon was fleeing the police and headed to the tunnel. The police called the gate to close the tunnel but the guy got in right before the gate closed and the police ended up being stopped at the gate waiting for it to open. In the meantime, the fleeing felon was using the emergency turnouts in the tunnel to pass cars and when that didn’t work, he sideswiped a couple of cars. Then he abandoned his car and ran out of the tunnel on foot. When he saw the Whittier police waiting for him, he fled back into the tunnel which was then locked. In the meantime the police were moving the drivers in the tunnels from their cars to one of the emergency rooms within the tunnel (built for earthquake protection). Whew! Felon was caught and was driving with a suspended license and I guess one of his previous criminal charges was fleeing the police. I think he might be locked up for a time for this caper.

C.Hobbit: As if the Tunnel wasn’t scary enough!

CHobbit- right now Sharon is connipping all over the place thinking “what if that had happened when WE were in that dam tunnel???”.
And as to the answer about the distance to the Vermont hidaway: just over 2 hours from home
5:29 pm on June 25th, 2014
Tupper’s Mama, yikes, mom read that just after our dinner was served. Right now she is really white and shaking. Thanks for waiting till now to tell us that story. Mom is a big wimp π Macy’s Mom…stop laughing!
5:29 pm on June 25th, 2014
WOW! Glad I wasn’t in that tunnel!
What an expensive day. $600.00 for a pair of glasses and prescript. sunglasses! And that was with Medicare covering the eye exam, getting 30% off on the glasses with our Farm Bureau card, and 50% off the sunglasses. Anyway the good news is that there is no macular degeneration or cataracts.
Throwing a chicken (sorry Fern and Peaches) in a pot to roast while Barb runs to the store to get some yard spray. Mosquitoes are so bad that she is just letting us out for 5 minutes to do our business and then the nasty buggers follow us back in the house. They are chewing on Barb too, even with Off sprayed on. Yikes!
5:30 pm on June 25th, 2014
Ah, but does hitchbot say, “Eh?”.
5:33 pm on June 25th, 2014
Barb, our mom is a mass of bites even with a screen room. The Dock tar asked her last week what all her lumps were…what a dumb shiitake!
5:56 pm on June 25th, 2014
And on top of the latest tunnel adventure (thank dog mom wasn’t there), Darah has found the Newfie hiding in the fireplace here and is honking her head off at it
π
6:30 pm on June 25th, 2014
I should have put a warning for Sharon not to read the tunnel adventure but would she have been able to resist reading it if told not to? Pondering.
6:35 pm on June 25th, 2014
She will never live that down π Sounds like a real adventure though.
6:37 pm on June 25th, 2014
Hitchbot sounds like fun. Wonder if Dawson will go out cruising looking to give it a ride.
7:22 pm on June 25th, 2014
Butcher shop sign: Not shopping here would be a missed steak!
7:27 pm on June 25th, 2014
I was a reluctant Whittier visitor but am very glad ML and he O’Howlers insisted we go. It is a great memory. I am glad the cops were not involved in our tunnel experience!
7:36 pm on June 25th, 2014
Lincecum pitched a no-hitter today.
7:49 pm on June 25th, 2014
Dawson, thank you for the back-up. Know mom was the wussy but glad someone else had second thoughts. She’d like to see Whittier again, by boat next time!

Ikette is in the “‘Terrible Twos” in dog years. One of 2 plants were destroyed today:

9:14 pm on June 25th, 2014
Hi Ikette, I’m Blondie, the newbie in the HOH. That plant looked tasty π After all, we growing kids need the vitamins and minerals that are in greens.
9:18 pm on June 25th, 2014
Ikette: Well done. The devil dog lessons are paying off nicely.
9:28 pm on June 25th, 2014
That kid shows a lot of promise.
9:28 pm on June 25th, 2014
(Blondie here) Ikette, I’ll raise you a plant and see you a cornucopia.

9:28 pm on June 25th, 2014
It looks like you should be able to re-pot that plant. It looks like he made more of a mess rather than destroyed it.
9:40 pm on June 25th, 2014
Ikette! I think the Party was Yesterday.
9:57 pm on June 25th, 2014
Note the 3 toys behind him (and 2 to the side which aren’t in the photo)…Ikette decides to crawl through my carryall, gets tangled in the straps and can’t follow Sadie Bear outside. Have to rescue him and my carryall. So many things are now parked on top of my dining room table. (He gets adopted this weekend and while I will miss him, it is time)…

10:03 pm on June 25th, 2014
Sniff.
10:10 pm on June 25th, 2014
I’ve gotten attached to the little guy…sniff

Sharon: I don’t know how you take care of all your 2-and 4-legged critters in your house. Gah.
10:22 pm on June 25th, 2014
One more from yesterday. These two are destined to be good friends for a long time.
10:32 pm on June 25th, 2014
I really like that picture.
10:34 pm on June 25th, 2014
Great picture of Teddy and Rio.
10:34 pm on June 25th, 2014
CHobbit: mom is not “house proud”. She harvests hair (read sweeps) and rearranges dust twice a week. Tracked in mud gets mopped asap. It is a lot like having rambunctious kids (except the canines/felines and avians don’t talk back).
10:41 pm on June 25th, 2014
Teddy!…In that photo Teddy and I are looking towards the future Snowhook Auction and Beyond!..snorkel!…He will once again be very instrumental in the great success of the upcoming Auction Central Extravaganza!….Woooo!…He and I share the same vision when it comes to raising funds for our one and only Iditarod Team, Snowhook…chuffle!
10:46 pm on June 25th, 2014
Mom just sent the picture and description of my other auction donation. Better late than never but really, it’s not my fault. She is the one running late, not me!
Pondering one more item to donate.

10:51 pm on June 25th, 2014
BooBear!….My friend shames me…sniff!…She has not yet sent her descriptions and photoz in….grump!…Something about doing 3 peoples jobs at the busy-place is her excuse right now…grumble!
10:55 pm on June 25th, 2014
Auctioneers!…YES! Teddy is growing up quite quickly and I really do expect him to do most of the work this go-round…heh!heh!…I will supervise and do some beer-vat swimming…chorkel!…All in all we will both have a great time!…WOOOOOO!
BooBear!…BETTER LATE THAN NOT AT ALL!…snort!…If you have last minute Items to donate, please just sent them in. Somehow Luna will be able to sort it all out for Rebecca and they will be included in the Annual Summer Snowhook Auction of 2014!!!!! ….WOOOOOO!

11:09 pm on June 25th, 2014
SiberH!…I realized Lincecum was attempting that today…snort!…I had my little headphones on listening to the afternoon Rockies game and heard the news….grunt!

Nighty night, HOH.

Caught up. Now it is bedtime.n Goodnight all except LizF. G,day Liz zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Water walking is simply walking IN the water, no on it, heh. Our local pool complex has a Lazy River and us folks of a certain age and beyond get in and walk against the current. This is in the mornings while the small fry are using other parts of the pool for swimming lessons. Mr. Husky can we sign you up?
I am not (snort) laughing at the tunnel story. I would have been a little apprehensive at being locked in. I to would like to return to Whittier. I think I will go up for a few months next year.
Heartburn has me up at this undo undogly hour, not to mention my mom’s bladder biopsy in a few hours prayers please. I am not up for another round of the C word ..

However iin California the most common are about half that size and usually stay underground although may sometimes be
seen on the edge of their burrow or pushing dirt out.
The rest of the Thompson penalty elapsed without a shot
on goal for Minnesota and at 10:52, shots were 4-3 in favor of
Vermont which was stunning. They adopt various different methods for different species of animal depending on their nature.
