Mrs. Publicist Steps In

Hi, everybody! Mrs. P here. I noticed the following in a five star review of It’s A Wonderful Woof, the most recent Chet and Bernie novel: “Normally I wait for the paperback of a series to be published, but with Chet and Bernie I have to get the hardback. End of story (as Chet would say).”

Very nice to see, but for those of you who stick to your paperback guns, the most recent C&B in paperback is Of Mutts And Men. For newcomers to the series, you could always start there! The series – I very recently learned – is written in the continuous present, and thus (if I got this right) can be read in any order! Did you know there’s a Proustian way of looking at the narration in C&B? And that in many respects it conforms to the literary theories of Viktor Shklovsky? Tell that to your highfalutin friends!

    Greetings!

I would agree with the person who wrote the review as far as not waiting for the paperback. I own the hardcovers, and have electronic versions as well.

Very windy and cold in this neck of the woods…Brrr!

    Make today awesome!

Well, it is a continuous present of a sort. The seasons change but the years never progress.

While Charlie will never grow up that means Chet will never age.

    And I’m fine with that.

I am not sure if I have any highfalutin friends—and what a strange word that is.
It is supposed to be 42 degrees Friday and Saturday which makes me happy. I am getting a mama cat and kittens today to foster for awhile. I haven’t fostered kittens in ages as they are not my favorite. They are at the age to be little terrorists.

The Hobbling Hobbit: 42 degrees. That’s just crazy! We are going to get up to 27 though and that is crazy for us. I agree that kittens can be little terrorists. That’s why they have to be so cute.

I don’t know for sure but I think our “seal point” cat that had a mean streak was abused when she was young and that’s why she was mean. Her children were all cuddling cats. I never had a mean cat before.

All my highfalutin friends already ignore me.

    Mliauppa: Hooray for black dogs!

Dogs are wonderful. They have no vanity or prejudice. Your dog will never look sideways at you and say that dress makes you look fat or comment that you’ve gained a few pounds. And of course, they’ll never say that color doesn’t look good on you. Because…dogs.

Home!…My friend has decided she is staying home tomorrow because the weather will be frightfully cold and windy…gruntle!…She says she will make cinnamin rolls and cuddle me all day long…snorkel! …I have my doubts because she is deep into another crochet project and the best I can do is muddle up her yarn…ha!snort!
