    Good morning all.

Did anyone else notice Barron Trump desperately trying to stay awake during the victory speech? It made me laugh, because that is exactly how I feel. But who the h*** pulls a ten year old out of bed and puts him on national tv at 3:00 in the morning? Poor kid, he will never live this down.

And I felt bad for laughing at him. Someone please tell me this is all a bad dream.

Mom is very non-political and has never watched election result coverage. However, last night, she got hooked watching CNN coverage. Not so much for the results, but for the way the guys were so stunned by the results with each and every state.

One thing (of many) that puzzled me is that they called New York for Clinton with only 1 percent of the votes counted. She did end up getting the state, but wasn’t that a little presumptive?

Done with politics. On to real life and Chet!!

By the way, the new Andy Carpenter novel does not disappoint. Mom read is in 2 evenings.

Dawson, the DDD is wondering about real estate in your area ????
The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

BooBear, they use exit polls to make those early calls we think.
    Dawson, yep.

Howlers, I sorta understand that but they weren’t calling other states with 90% of the votes tallied. I just wondered how the news people felt comfortable calling a major state with so few actual results counted.

BooBear, we never really get those early calls either. Always seems strange.

I’ve been up for hours and posted using my smartphone but I see my comment never made it to the blog. I feel my values have not changed and I have a purring cat and a happy dog beside me. Exactly what I need this morning. Whether you’ve won or lost, kindness is a good choice. And to both sides: we ignore others at our own peril.

I am stunned, sad and fearful. I am going to try to wrap myself in dog hair and focus on non-political aspects of life for a while.

I have heard people say we have had bad presidents before and we can live thru it, and I hope that is the case this time. My concerns are many, but war, climate damage and further division are at the top of my list.

And yes, I could not take my eyes off Barron the entire time “The One Who Shall Be Unnamed” was speaking. I thought he might topple over at any second. Either he was in a complete stupor or he doesn’t find his dad very exciting!.

Dawson, I woke up this morning with that very sentence in my head.

IMHO, the electoral college has failed miserably twice in recent history, is an anachronism, and should be abolished.

I have spent the morning writing checks to my favorite animal rescues and local people who warm and feed the children.

Went to bed early with a stuffy head cold…upon hearing a single gun shot sometime during the night we knew the unexpected had happened.
This morning learned The Man in the High Castle is returning soon.

Thinking of moving to Colorado. Snort!

    Pollsters wrong again.

BooBear: Medically assisted suicide for the terminally ill was voted legal in Colorado.

HOH: Only in the case of someone assisting the suicide are there charges.

Bee, BMALS, BSD, Staffie, Dawson, Rio,and all.

I have had a couple of Strengthening Cocktails (well, wine)and I need to say that I am in favor of legalized marijuana and assisted suicide because of personal experience with a couple of loved ones. It was thought by the medical community in Wisconsin that weed would have prevented much suffering for my beloved uncle-by-marriage and my daughter-in-law’s mother. I don’t want to get into it all, but what is wrong with controlling pain and dying with dignity?

Rio, Darling, I will always mark (piss) your words!

  41. c.hobbitz
    8:49 pm on November 9th, 2016

Rio: insurance companies have always had the power to decide whether you live or die. Insurance companies have always denied coverage for pre-existing conditions and/or capped coverages. Your hated Obamacare disallowed denial based on pre-existing conditions. The Republicans just announced that they will immediately repeal Obamacare but any replacement health care act will take a long time. People with diabetes are going to be in a world of hurt without insurance to pay for the huge rise in the cost of insulin.
So everyone should stay as healthy as possible. I’ve already thought of a couple of things I can do and fortunately I had a pre-scheduled appointment with my doctor today so we had time to discuss it.
