In some ways, A PERFECT CRIME (1998) was meant to have echoes of a well-known nineteenth-century novel – also set in New England, also a story of adultery, also with a husband named Roger. And there are other hints as well. Although A PERFECT CRIME was widely reviewed, no one seems to have noticed. The message was there’s no such thing as too obvious, but we’ve never believed that.

And the 19th-century novel was?

I bet you HRH, B knows the answer to the question above…

Some significant snow is expected in this neck of the woods on Wednesday. There are still thousands of people without power in the Hudson Valley.

    Good day to all!

Good morning Wose, B, BooBear and everyone! We think HRH B may have the answer. The race is on. We are missing the excitement and all the friends we’d meet up with in Alaska.

Of course B got it! Would have bet anything. (In A Perfect Crime, Roger – Francie’s husband – has the surname Cullingwood.

Kudos to Stover; I would never have gotten that in a million years.

We are now fine here in Chevy Chase, but I just saw news reports that massive waves are striking the Massachusetts coastline today, as an aftermath of the storm, so I hope that OFA himself and family are safe and secure on the Cape.

I did not know the answer until I googled the question, then the answer seemed obvious.
