More Dental Care: From Thereby Hangs A Tail
“You’re smart,” the sheriff said, a bit louder. “You can figure it out.”
“That’s not going to work, Earl,” Bernie said. “Try some – “ Bernie’s cell phone rang. He answered. “Janie? Have to call you back. Kind of busy right – “
He listened. I could just hear the sound of Janie’s voice – one of my favorite voices – but couldn’t make out what she was saying. Have I mentioned Janie? She’s the best groomer in the Valley, has a great business with a great business plan: Janie’s Pet Grooming Service – We Pick Up and Deliver. Loved Janie, and she hadn’t picked me up in way too long. She even brushes my teeth! The fun we have with that, let me tell you.

Wooks – Those quilters had a lot of quilts to make in one day. Did they get frantic near the end and start throwing spools of thread and quilt batting at each other?

Of course, it depends,Chet, how you define "fun" but I can't imagine that you like having your teeth brushed.
Sorry, Rio, but Patsy Cline died in 1963. Here's info on her from Wikipedia:

We're still on the subject of teeth, huh? This is starting to make me nervous. Bernie should be brushing Chet's teeth every day, not just when he goes to the groomer. I talk big, don't I? There was a long article in our newspaper a week ago about brushing your dog's teeth, and there are how-to videos on the internet. I refuse to read the article or watch the videos.

Hey AbbietheKitty,
Just back from the local high school's one act competition play. Never liked reading Theater Absurd, but they did a great job on The Bald Soprano. Was great seeing it, not reading it. I like a plot in what I read!
Speaking of which, I just finished Delusions by that other guy. Good job!

Hey Melanie,
I just spent 4 days reading the Ingrid series. I really liked them and I liked his writing too. I am getting the courage up to try some of his 'adult' fiction.
I do like the way he writes. I am not someone who knows all the buzzwords, but PA comes straight at you with none of the broody whiny complaining that I find a lot of contemporary writers seem to favor.
I like people who do things and don't waste my time thinking about doing things.
Ingrid is right out there. She just goes for 'it' and has been really lucky so far. Lots of stuff happening in her life though.
Her 'grampy' is a wonderful character. I really like the police chief and his son Joey too. They are the most real besides Ingrid. And, of course, Nigel her dog, is great. Definitly not a Chet though. (no one else is, only you Chet!)
AbbietheKitty
I hope he continues to write about her.

I hope Rio is having a good time. He can tell us about it tomorrow.
I am saving "The Fan" and "End of Story" by that other guy to read till the Iditarod is over with. My memory is no better than Chets, but I don't think anyone here has mentioned reading those books yet.
It is sooo quiet without Rio.
Goodnight Everyone!

AbbietheKitty: I have not yet read the Ingrid series. Looking forward to it. I have to agree about the broody whiny complaining. Heard enough of that when my children were angsting (love that made up word) teenagers.
Siberian Husky: I too am following the Iditarod. I'm concerned about "Whitey" the three year old missing from Savidis team. I hope they find him soon. They have people out looking for him.
I'm following nine different teams and having a great time. None of them have scratched yet.
Getting tired, off to bed.

Good night Gracie
I am off to bed too.
Good night Zippy! Sleep well

Chet,
It was a good day. Read Dog On It to Chapter 19 to Lonnie and Gord. Gord has stopped rolling his eyes while I'm reading and may be hooked. Lonnie loves Chet although she wants me to blog that "dogs have owners but cats have servants". I told her nobody was gonna like it, especially Bernie and Chet.
Rio: I hope you went disguised as Walter. He kinda looks like you.
Night All

Chet, we really loved your book, Dog Gone It, that our Mommy read to us today. She loves stories about our guys, but not ones that end sad like Marley & ME. She cried at the end of that book and then wouldn't tell us why. Anyhoooo. We like you lots and we like slim-jims lots too. Hope our Mom reads us more about you soon.
