Good morning, everyone!
Mom always mourns when one of the nation within crosses the bridge. We even found her howling once. She is as close to canine as a human can be….so..Miley, mourn, it might do you good! ML, read this, it applies to 2 leggers too.
In Honor of Sadie Bear, lets have a treaties Tuesday!
9:06 am on April 8th, 2014
Miley is not our fav. but guess she does have a heart. At least she isn’t sticking her tongue out right now, or twerking. Gah!
Floyd, her dog that crossed, was an Alaskan Klee Kia, which is a recent invention of a breeder, who is trying to create a miniature husky type dog. From what we read, they are not always a good natured breed. Probably mad about being too small to pull a sled.
9:09 am on April 8th, 2014
That should be Alaskan Klee Kai.
We are waiting for Bee to say “Who is Miley Cyrus?”
9:13 am on April 8th, 2014
Okay Barb–I’m saying it: Who is Miley Cyrus?
AJ: I enjoyed reading your description of this year’s race.
Good morning all.
9:16 am on April 8th, 2014
B&M we are with you. New “breeds” should be user friendly like most of the nation within. If a “breed” isn’t friendly, perhaps people shouldn’t interfere.
9:17 am on April 8th, 2014
Greetings!
Lurking around today.
Big hugs and love to ML and her family, Karen, Truman, and BooBear, and Zoe and her family.
9:22 am on April 8th, 2014
What Wose said, and also wishing Wose a good day.
Always sad to lose a member of the nation, ho matter the human companion involved.
9:30 am on April 8th, 2014
I couldn’t finish the story–my heart was in my mouth (and I knew the ending, so spared myself the intervening anxiety). Glad you’re all back OK.
Macy’s Mom–I remember a similar routine from four years ago–endless loose ends, but they are therapeutic in their way. (I wish I had useful advice about the knives, but I don’t.)
Siber, Masquers, HOH and everyone–Thanks for your sympathy when I’m being a wimp. Conan sends you all newly kissing-sweet dainty licks.
Here’s an April Fools video from my local CSU campus.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R9rymEWJX38
Be well, all.
9:36 am on April 8th, 2014
DianeC: Mom doesn’t like A.F. Day pranks but your video made her laugh till she almost wet her knickers! 🙂 🙂 🙂
9:39 am on April 8th, 2014
Gotta head out for the Tues. work day.
Quickly, Miley Cyrus is a former Disney star of the very popular “Hanna Montana” series. She was a sweet looking, darling, clean cut kid. Now she is a rock star who does all sorts of disgusting, outrageous things. She is big on being half dressed, sticking her tongue out at every possible moment, and “twerking” in her performances. She is a fairly talented young women, so she needs to stop all this far out stuff and just sing her songs. BBL
9:52 am on April 8th, 2014
Thanks Barb. Now I’m wondering what “twerking” is but I probably don’t want to know.
From AJ’s description yesterday: I’m wondering what it means that Rainy Pass Gorge was “technical but runnable.” Siber-H??
9:58 am on April 8th, 2014
B: ya don’t wanna know! No twerking for grown-ups!
10:04 am on April 8th, 2014
Miley Cyrus. Gah.
DianeC: What a Video to start the day!
Siber-H: Same Question as B.
(and still thinking about AJ’s narrative from yesterday)
10:13 am on April 8th, 2014
Good morning.
We’re spring cleaning and found an interesting site – whatshouldireadnext.com. “Type in a favorite book or author and it spits out great suggestions.”
Has anyone joined Goodreads? (sorry, Bee)
Thanks again, AJ, for sharing your adventure. Waiting for Part 2.
I wonder what ITC’s definition of runnable is.
Thinking of ML and her family, T&G’s family, BooBear’s family, and Zoe’s family this morning, sending hugs to all.
10:28 am on April 8th, 2014
HOH,BSD–Glad you liked the video.
Bluecat–Recently discovered the whatshouldireadnext site and share your positive opinion.
Off to gym, ballet, taxes, and, leter, work. Gaah.
10:28 am on April 8th, 2014
Bluecat, wow are you put together or what? Maybe the only one here who thinks that way.
10:32 am on April 8th, 2014
Thanks, Nana

10:34 am on April 8th, 2014
I need some medical advice. I have been off my meals and have had several very messy and malodorous accidents in the house. (hanging head in shame) Does anyone have any suggestions to make my tummy better?
10:36 am on April 8th, 2014
We are donning our shield, sword and Viking helmet before heading, prepared for battle with Club Med.
Hopefully, said accoutrements will be unnecessary, but one must be ready, willing and suitably attired to face dragons when going into their lair.
10:40 am on April 8th, 2014
Macy – your poor tummy is probably reacting to all the stress around you. Ask your mom to boil a little white rice, and a skinless chicken breast for you. Have her chop up a tiny bit of the chicken and mix it with a couple tablespoons of rice, and give that to you every 3 to 4 hours.
Tiny bits of bland food may help.
( you didn’t eat anything that is bad for Min Pins did you?)
10:56 am on April 8th, 2014
Although not completely bland, a touch of powdered garlic and fresh parsley will make said meal really delish AND palatable. Have used it here for puppy tummy problems 🙂
11:20 am on April 8th, 2014
I plead the fifth on what I may or may not have found in the yard.
11:40 am on April 8th, 2014
Good morning. How is the Storyteller?
Macy, Mom does the rice thing too, but she boils hamburger to mix with it.
Bluebell, Mom is on Goodreads. She gets lots of ideas on books from others there.
The Huskies beat those Cats!!!!! Yay!
Tonight, the Huskies will be playing for the Womens Champions against The Irish. While we do like UConn, we go with The Irish all the way!!! Go Irish! Go Muffet!
11:42 am on April 8th, 2014
Why have Chet and Bernie traded sides in the P&O cover? (And NO, mom isn’t talking about monopoly.)
11:43 am on April 8th, 2014
I am not sure what the term “technical” means when it is used to describe a part of the Iditarod Trail. It is a word used in mountain climbing…”the north face of the mountain is a technical climb”.
AJ has done some mountain climbing.
Since I am sure AJ did not get out his mountaineering hardware to get through Rainy Pass Gorge, he must mean difficult but doable.
This is only a guess on my part.
11:49 am on April 8th, 2014
THAT seems to be the only other time Chet is left and Bernie is right. Opinions?
11:50 am on April 8th, 2014
Staff, here is my one and only quilting experience. I made some squares.

11:51 am on April 8th, 2014
And Siber H, yes, we think you are smart and right about “technical” What a dog!
11:52 am on April 8th, 2014
Macy’s Mom….Beuuuu..tee..ful!
11:58 am on April 8th, 2014
I have only one thing to add to what you guys have already said about Miley Cyrus. She was not ready for another dog.
Macy, Good advice already given on what to do for your upset tummy.
12:04 pm on April 8th, 2014
We agree with Siber that Miley was not ready for another dog. We also believe that nobody should gift a dog (or other animal, 2-legged or 4-legged) to another.
12:05 pm on April 8th, 2014
Where are Shelby, Maya, and Debbie?
12:24 pm on April 8th, 2014
Not going to read the article this morning but I feel bad for anyone who loses their good friend.
DianeC: The professor turned a lovely shade of pink during that April fool’s joke. Thanks for the laugh!
HOH: Not sure I understand the question but I will answer anyways: Yes! Bluecat is beautifully put together.
Bluecat: I will check out whatshouldIreadnext.com.
Viking Golinka: Go get ’em! (I hope answers are coming forthwith)
Macy’s Mom: I’m impressed with your productive day yesterday. You were taking care of business!
12:24 pm on April 8th, 2014
Thank you Siber-H.
1:03 pm on April 8th, 2014
Bluekat, I already used your link to choose a book. I was out of books. Thank you. I have been a member of Goodreads for a long time but don’t do much with it. I would rather spend my time reading than talking about it I guess.
MacytheMinPin. Imodium for immediate relief. Works immediately with none of the side effects of Pepto Bismol. Then the BRAT diet. Bananas, rice, applesauce and tea to settle the tummy down. Only for about a day usually.
1:07 pm on April 8th, 2014
ML, I am impressed with the huge quilt. It looks beautiful!
1:24 pm on April 8th, 2014
Staff – Imodium for dogs? Since we only find it in pill form, how do you regulate the dosage for small animals.
(And not sure Macy would be up for tea)
1:31 pm on April 8th, 2014
I want a photo of viking Golinka!
And are those all dogs on that quilt?
1:33 pm on April 8th, 2014
Dealing with a chirping ceiling smoke alarm. Might as well buy a pack of batteries since when one goes, others can’t be too far behind.
Morning all.
1:35 pm on April 8th, 2014
I would not give Imodium to a dog without consulting with a vet first. I don’t know if dogs can take it. Dogs can take Pepto Bismo, but they hate it.
Vets have a very cheap med for Macy’s issues…sometimes the vet will sell it to you without a visit to the clinic. The med starts with a M…that is all I remember. Husky Rescue here always keeps a supply of it on hand.
1:39 pm on April 8th, 2014
I believe Staff is posting that information about immodium for 2 leggeds. This is what Dad gets when he has pooper problems. Heh, heh, heh!
1:58 pm on April 8th, 2014
2:09 pm on April 8th, 2014
BSD, right your cartoon is! (can we play ball now?)
2:16 pm on April 8th, 2014
I found the name of the med the vets have for Macy’s problem. It is Metronidazole.
2:34 pm on April 8th, 2014

Is our Mama tough or what?
3:13 pm on April 8th, 2014
Rose!…Check your SDD – and this time I read every word…heh!heh!
6:18 pm on April 8th, 2014
You hoo, anybody home?
6:21 pm on April 8th, 2014
We have had good luck with the rice and lean ground beef, boiled, not fried.
BSD, We have 12 years on our list but have not gotten it yet. Have to watch the Hobbit first and send that back.
6:24 pm on April 8th, 2014
Thanks, Barb&Magpie. We watched Nebraska last night. Very Good.
Bruce Dern is wonderful in it.
6:28 pm on April 8th, 2014
T & G, Hope your mama got some good medical answers today.
Barb had a hectic day at the office. Sort of got thrown into the deep end of the pool today. Agent was gone for the day, and he sort of thinks Barb will know how to do everything since she used to be an agent. WRONG! Oh well, she made it thru without destroying anything. Now she has a day off to relax and regroup.
Bee, You probably don’t want to know what twerking is. Let’s just say you would throw your back and hips out of place, and you wouldn’t want to do it in public! Snicker.
6:34 pm on April 8th, 2014
Dungeness Crab Rolls? Dirty Tots? Crepes? No, this isn’t a new restaurant we’re talking about. This is the menu for Seattle Mariners Opening Day at Safeco Field.

Catch y’all later.
6:35 pm on April 8th, 2014
BSD, We thought Nebraska was very good. The acting was excellent, but the movie was a little slow, and we thought the son had way more patience than most would have.
6:38 pm on April 8th, 2014
Masquers, that doesn’t look like any food we’ve seen at the ballpark!
7:07 pm on April 8th, 2014
Belle Starr and I must have that baby kangaroo , or we will both be in a very bad mood.
7:15 pm on April 8th, 2014
RIO! Checked and responded!
7:16 pm on April 8th, 2014
On Friday I’m going to holiday Valley and will see Jay and Tyb. I have his passport which got stamped in Massachusetts instead of back here in Amherst. The passports were all passed around the breakfast table. When I got back home I realized that Jay’s passport didn’t have a stamp from staff.
7:17 pm on April 8th, 2014
HerbKats, I wish I had your Warrior mum for my mum. Small and meek people like me get picked on a lot……
7:18 pm on April 8th, 2014
MPM, Your Plunderer passport must be full, full, full!
Oh, and did LouLou get wonderfluffed?
7:32 pm on April 8th, 2014
Wose, I was going to take a picture when she was all fluffy and I forgot. She had a big haircut and looked adorable and now she’s rather scruffy.

7:47 pm on April 8th, 2014
Little LouLou looks pretty darn good for being scruffy.
Magpie: Sorry Barb had a bad day at the Busy Place but it will definitely get better & better. Who says they can’t teach two-leggeds New Tricks.
BTW: Nana agrees with her about Nebraska, however after seeing Wolf of Wall Street it was a Welcome Change of pace.
Royal Mum: Love your Warrior Outfit. Hope it got the results it deserves.
Thinking about The Storyteller, Macy’s Family & Zoe and her pack.
7:57 pm on April 8th, 2014
Yes, Dawson knows me so well. I was talking about 2 legged meds. Oops. Only read every other word again. Don’t tell Rio!
8:02 pm on April 8th, 2014
LouLou looks adorable. Better not let Belly see her or she will want a LouLou of her own, or else you know what.
We still have not seen 12 Years but we want to.
BSD, do they really have that yummy food at the stadium? We may need to switch teams!
8:03 pm on April 8th, 2014
Scruffy? LouLou looks adorable.
8:06 pm on April 8th, 2014
Masquers, all that yummy food and Robinson Cano too! sob, sob, sob
8:37 pm on April 8th, 2014
LouLou does not look scruffy. She is too cute for words.
BSD, we are not going to watch Wolf of Wall Street. We have similar taste in movies, so if you didn’t like it, Barb probably wouldn’t either.

Hi everyone – this is the medical portion of tonight’s blog. We finally have some answers about the Storyteller, and we wanted to let you know.
He has a condition called Bronchiectasis. It is a permanent injury to the lungs which makes it difficult for his lungs to push out the mucus that is a normal function part of the lungs. This is the same thing that happens with cystic fibrosis in children, but while that is almost always fatal at a young age, Bronchiectasis is the form found in adults who have had serious injury to the lungs. As a result, he is highly susceptible to infection, pneumonia and inflammation. That is what has been happening for the past four months. When he was in the hospital getting antibiotics, he would get better, then he would come home, and be off the antibiotics and would get sick again.
While there is no cure for Bronchiectasis, they can control the symptoms through regular use of antibiotics, saline inhalation therapy and other non-surgical and not drastic means.
There will be one last round of testing tomorrow, then they will most likely release him to come home. He has already started with the antibiotic therapy, and will be seeing the pulmonologist on a regular basis to keep him healthy.
Whew – now that all that dry stuff is duly reported, we return you to your regular blog programming.
(and thank each and every one of you for your support and prayers)
9:12 pm on April 8th, 2014
AJ!….Very cool video of The Giant and the A-Team…Woooo!…Rebecca even got in on that one!…snort!
9:14 pm on April 8th, 2014
T & G, God to know that they know what it is and how to treat it. Is it more serious since he has only one lung?
9:14 pm on April 8th, 2014
Diagnosis!…I’m so glad Leonard has a real diagnosis now…wheeze!….I wonder if that is what’s wrong with my breathing patterns…sniff!cough!
9:28 pm on April 8th, 2014
Barb – it is kinda tough since he only has one lung to work with in the first place, but he is a tough guy. And he is determined to be better.
9:37 pm on April 8th, 2014
Storyteller, I understand what you’re going through. Having it diagnosed is the most important thing because then the treatment can be determined. It will be good to go home.
9:44 pm on April 8th, 2014
Lung!…One lung? What the heck did he do with the other one?…sniff!sniff!
9:48 pm on April 8th, 2014
Amalia I am so glad that you have a diagnosis. Good thing that Dr. decided (heh) to do those tests. (HA!)
10:04 pm on April 8th, 2014
Dr. Siber, right you are. I got the M medicine and tramadol for pain, but we didn’t have to buy that, cause Daddy left me his in his will. I discovered that if I spit out the meds covered in pumpkin, I will get meds covered in cheese, and when I spit those out, pills covered in peanut butter. I decided not to press my luck after that.
10:06 pm on April 8th, 2014
The Storyteller has a diagnosis and Can Go Home! Good News indeed.
(thanks to a certain Warrior Mum)
C.Hobbit: We just realized the Baby Kangaroo you posted a photo of earlier is REAL.
10:11 pm on April 8th, 2014
SiberH!….Are you watching this game?…snort!….Not looking like last nights game at all so far…grump!
10:30 pm on April 8th, 2014
Pop-Culture!….I wish Chet and Company would not post stuff regarding pop-culture…grunt!…We here cannot stand Miley Cyrus and her twerking antics. She is the WORST example for any young person to have…sniff!…So bah-humbug on todays post even if a dead-guy was involved…grump!
10:41 pm on April 8th, 2014
Grr, my comment is in moderation. Take two.
Dr. Siber, right you are. I got the M medicine and tram adol for pain, but we didn’t have to buy that, cause Daddy left me his in his will. I discovered that if I spit out the meds covered in pumpkin, I will get meds covered in cheese, and when I spit those out, pills covered in peanut butter. I decided not to press my luck after that.
11:04 pm on April 8th, 2014
Macy!….Working the medical System!…heh!heh!
11:27 pm on April 8th, 2014
Macy – we will tell the Storyteller your pill technique. We can just see the nurses scrambling around the floor as he pit-tooeies his non-peanut butter covered pills out.
Hope you are feeling better, little pup.
11:28 pm on April 8th, 2014
Rio, yes, I am watching the game. This is bad…real bad.
Macy, Take your pills like a good girl. Your mom does not need any added stress right now.
I am glad the Storyteller will be fine with treatment. Once they got started on looking for the problem, they found it quick. Thank Dog
Night All
11:35 pm on April 8th, 2014
Good night Siber – good night Rio and Macy and anyone else still up.
Sweet dreams.
11:36 pm on April 8th, 2014
SiberH!…Where ever you are I hope you did not watch tonight’s game…grump!…So our team goes from looking stellar last night to being CRAP tonight….sniff!…I just scratch myself and do not get it…grunt!
Vein!…There is a voice in the fan-base that has preached, “Quit going to Rockies games until they change!”…sniff!…The underlying feeling is there is so much “support” no matter what, win or lose, that nothing ever changes…wheeze!…Tonight I am not seeing many fans at the game early on and now especially later on…wuffle!…Maybe that is what it will take, but I never thought I would see the day when the fans stop going to games…sniff!…All fans have a point of saying, “Done!…grump!”…guffle!
11:38 pm on April 8th, 2014
For some reason, I can’t stand on all fours. I don’t want to walk, and I feel all woozy and shaky. Mom does not like this, not at all. She drove me all over the place to find a v e t this afternoon. Our old one died last year and the new doc was not there today. The one down the street from them was closing when we got there. The third one was too booked up, so we wound up at the doc in Pet Smart. Mom forgot to tell them that I do not wish my derriere messed with and I was almost forced to use teeth. The doc has no clue what is wrong with my leg, but gave me pills and some CAN FOOD for my tumtum. It has been a while since I saw any of that. Back off Annie and Belle. Mom says this stuff is pricey.
11:38 pm on April 8th, 2014
Oh!…And that is good-goonie-night for me and mine tonight too!…snort!…Game is over as far as we here are concerned…sniff!
11:40 pm on April 8th, 2014
Macy!…oh no! What did you eat in the back yard?…grunt!…Hopefully no insecticide or fertilizer or dawg nose what!…yeeep!
7:51 am on April 9th, 2014
Oh Macy! Now we are worried for you. Find another v-e-t !
Did your mom give you too much of your daddy’s pills?
