Merry Christmas, Everybody!
And to those who don’t celebrate Christmas, just the merriment part. But lots of it!
Here for no reason is the new paperback cover for Thereby Hangs A Tail. Forget the click to look inside part.
Welcome Alan.

The best present of all? A White Christmas!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all.
Love Bernie’s shirt up above. Where is Chet’s white ear?
Another busy day here. We got to bed after midnight (note our late post). Now off to Josh’s for gifts and breakfast. May take a quick visit to Kelly’s if we have time. Then 3:00 over to Jess’s mom’s home for soup and sandwich supper.
We are lucky to have a white Christmas here. Not much, but it is white!
9:48 am on December 25th, 2012
And to you as well Spence, Admin, Chet and Bernie. And to everyone have a wonderful day.
We have a white Christmas here and the sun is shining making it even brighter.

This is the message of Christmas: we are never alone.
~ Taylor Caldwell ~
This quote reminds me of the Plunderers. We have Christmas year ’round because we have each other and Admin and Spence and Chet and Bernie.
Have a wonderful day.

Merry Christmas Everyone!!
No snow here but since it is Christmas, I won’t whine about it. At least, it is cold.
We love the cover of the new paperback of THAT. Chet and Bernie are somewhere in southeastern Utah.

Siber-H, Gah! We are both sitting here with no snow. You are very welcome for the Christmas songs. I do love the older versions the best.

Rose, Santa knew how good I had been. He left me treats and chewies, but my favorite is the stuffed flamingo. It has a squeaker and floppy neck, wings and long legs. I can’t decide whether to rip those legs off or to disembowel him to get the squeaker.
11:26 am on December 25th, 2012
Steve, WOW That is really pretty!

We got some great bones and moose antlers this morning. We’ll be outside playing in the snow all day while the rents go to Mom’s brother’s home for Christmas dinner. Mom is sick, and we really wish she would just stay home, but she says a commitment must be honored. She promises to come home early though, because she must feed the horses and us. BBML

My boy Cody and his girl Bree came for candlelight service nd dinner last night. Slowly, our family is being reunified. The best gift of all. Cody still has much growing up to do, such as oh, finding a job. Just in case the famous cage fighter gig doesn’t pan out.
Mom’s grand baby is due July 21.
Chad is doing extremely well. He has a real job, and is making decent money. He just has to stick out Oregon for five more months and then he Joan bue transferred.

We are having a GREAT Christmas. We got this car magnet for our Mama:

12:52 pm on December 25th, 2012
And Gramp got the most beautiful quilled butterflies you ever saw. White Butterflies are the symbol of my mother, and a very talented and sensitive artist created this especially for him. It made him cry. (Callie likes it too)
1:01 pm on December 25th, 2012
Merry Christmas to our Plundering family!
Our Lady won the battle with the sewing machine. It was touch and go for a while, but we are pleased to say she finished the homemade gift for the Giant. She made him dog sled toasties to put on te handlebar of his sled. He likes them!
Belle Starr is not having a good holiday. She is disappointed that Santa didn’t make with a great dane or a min-pin of her very own. She said the cupcake shaped squeaky she got is a distance second.
Beautiful quilled projects!

Merry Christmas everybody! We are just sitting around waiting for our auntie to get here from Dallas. The rain is supposed to turn to snow any time now. If auntie has to stay over night we have an extra kennel she can sleep In. Holly and Biddie sleepy over last night. BTW Christmas cookies make an excellent breakfast.

Love the picture of gramp and Callie.

Steve: The quilling looks real fine in that shadow box.
Callie is as impressed with the white butterfly quilling as Grampa is.
Turtleman is here and we are almost ready to eat. Staff is doing all the cooking and it smells wonderful.

Merry Christmas everyone — and what a wonderful Christmas for my dad too. The secret can now be let out of the bag; his Christmas present from me (and mom too) left him totally speechless and completely surprised. The present was the top secret item from the last auction, the very first chapter of the next Chet and Bernie book. How about that for an awesome surprise!
Because I knew I could not bid myself, since dad was assisting me at auction central, utilizing all my secret agent skills (and with an assist from mom — who knew she had any secret agent in her) we conspired with Miss Melanie for her to bid on our behalf, which she did with great success. The only other one in on the conspiracy at the end was SQ/PA himself. In any event, my dad said he couldn’t believe we had pulled this off without him suspecting a thing and that it was the best present ever. I should hope so, seeing as how I blew my entire treat budget for the next year getting it for him. With the secret out, I can also express a very sincere thank you and hat tip to Melanie and my mom for assisting me in this wonderful surprise for my dad.

Wookie, That is a true Christmas story, and excellent secret agent work. I had thought all ths time that Melanie won it. We are happy for your dad.
2:39 pm on December 25th, 2012
Nice job Wookie . If you need a treat let me know and I will send you some. No dog should be left treatless.
It is snowing BIG FLAKES. Merry Christmas to mom! You should have seen her out trying to catch them on her tongue.
Everyone stay warm and safe. We here are extra merry now!
2:49 pm on December 25th, 2012
Whoo – hoo, Wookie! Excellent job on the secret agent front. Well done!
2:49 pm on December 25th, 2012
Wookie: We wanted to offer to hold you top secret preset for you pop—safe keeping and all that—but our Lady said you had it under control and were less likely to leave teeth marks on the pages than either of us. We have found that secret agents can be found in those we suspect the least. Our lady says those secret agents are masters of disguise.
2:51 pm on December 25th, 2012
Merry Christmas, everyone! Our house is filling up with family and we are really looking forward to a fun day with way too much to eat. White elephant gift exchange is later. Mom bought something at the spring auction that is one of her gifts. She may be fighting to get it back, though.
Love and peace to all.

The quilling pieces some of you guys have framed look great!

G&BB: You got an elephant for Christmas! This is so unfair. I am so jealous. All I wanted was my own dog, perhaps a pug.
3:13 pm on December 25th, 2012
We have elephants here too! And it is still snowing! We are very happy!
3:32 pm on December 25th, 2012
Macy: You too?!!! I can’t believe it. Obviously, my Two-legged is unfit! I need to write a strongly worded letter to that group who protects against dogs who don’t get what they want for Christmas.

I am trying to be happy for you Macy, (the snow) but it is hard.

Sammie, sounds like Santa was very good to you. Could we see a picture of the flamingo before you rip it to shreds?
4:34 pm on December 25th, 2012
Wookie, that is a way cool gift you got for your dad. You and your mom did a great double secret agent job!
Wolfie, I will see what I can do in February. Belle may have her own dog yet!

I’m putting up some pictures of Zoë’s room and hallway. Some of the flowers had to be annexed! She started to read me some of the cards and just burst into tears again and told me I was so lucky to have such wonderful friends. I told her (again) that youse guys were her friends, too.

So I didn’t win the Top Secret File. 🙁
I did get a mini iPaw for Christmas! 🙂
Merry Christmas all my friends! I believe I’ll take a nap.

dear Belle Starr
We are so terribly sorry for the oversight that left you without your own pet on this Christmas morning. We are working as we speak to rectify the error.
Within days, you will receive a Priority Mail box from us. In it you will find two fairly acceptable (Wrotten Kat) type pets. Feel free to demonstrate your responsibility, or lack thereof upon said Kats. If you should happen to forget to feed them, oh well. There’s always more where those came from.
Signed,
That Group that Protects Dogs Who Don’t Get What They Want For Christmas

Sorry Mr. husky, that you don’t have any, but we are loving looking at our snow. However, we are not that crazy about going out in it. Did you know that snow is made out of water? I do not like to go out in water. I will just stay here in my new blankie until the water goes away.
6:02 pm on December 25th, 2012
Ummmm. Riö, I am like “totally” zonked. I don’t know when I’m going to have a brain or rest. I’ll let you know about zoe after dinner but there was a complication.

And, yes, Zoe, you ARE a Plunderer!

6:28 pm on December 25th, 2012
Gramps!…Hey those white butterflies look familiar, but I don’t remember my friend putting those little twinkle lights on that special project for Gramps…snort!…It must be the reflection of Golinka’s beautiful pinecone Christmas Tree on the glass…heh!heh!…Or a Christmas Miracle!! …chuffle!
6:36 pm on December 25th, 2012
Stover!…She has been correcting our grammar lately and so I was wondering what she made of this sentence in today’s post…heh!…“Forget the click to look inside part.”…grunt!…It’s a damned good thing that Spencer has a real life Editor on his side….snorkel!
6:39 pm on December 25th, 2012
That is a lovely quilt Macy’s mom.
Thanks for the pictures Melanie.
6:43 pm on December 25th, 2012
Rio: It just needs quotation marks around “click to look inside.”
6:47 pm on December 25th, 2012
Awwww!…Now it makes sense with the quotes because the click to look inside part does not work…heh!heh!
6:56 pm on December 25th, 2012
Editor!…I’m still thankful he has a real life Editor….sniff!…What I would give to read that first chapter though without the editors take…wheeze!…Wookie, your Paw is a very lucky guy. And apparently a very much loved guy!….chorkel!
7:18 pm on December 25th, 2012
We have had a very nice Christmas, but way different from all of our Christmases Past, when the house was full of people all talking at once and good food being made and devoured. Today, we got to play with our toys and guard our new bones all day long. Nobody visited; instead, Mom and Pop travelled to our uncle’s home and ate a most wonderful beef dinner. Now they are home, and we are settling in.
Macy, we are happy you got snow on Christmas. We had lovely snow last night and this morning, but now it has almost all disappeared. We have no idea where it went.
We enjoyed all of the great pictures today…quilling, flowers, car magnet. Mom is feeling a little better, thought still not tip top. Kat is now limping. It seems she cut her pad between her toes while frolicing in the snow last night.
7:19 pm on December 25th, 2012
We are back home and getting all warm and comfie in Barb’s new Snuggie.
Busy day, with lots of stops and some eating and drinking. Highlight of the food – a co worker of Josh went to Canada fishing and brought back some salmon. She smoked it herself and then sealed it into small packages. We got a little chunk of it to bring home and it is out of this world!
Time to chill for a bit before and early bedtime.
7:24 pm on December 25th, 2012
Melanie!…Did you mention a Complications???….grunt!…Not with Zoe’s health I hope…wheeze!
Howlers!…You can have all of our snow…snort!…Beau and I both detest it with a passion-fish!…grunt!
7:27 pm on December 25th, 2012
Jasper’s quilt is really pretty.
We want to know what she meant by “complication” too. How can she say that then go away????
7:37 pm on December 25th, 2012
Melanie!…She always leaves us hanging…grunt!
8:08 pm on December 25th, 2012
Back now. The brace that Zoe was using was not helping but causing her vertebra to not heal. Tomorrow she gets another one. Her wrist seems to have problems with the cast. The second cast seems to be bothering her also.
We shall see . .

Night all. Hope everyone had a great Christmas!
9:17 pm on December 25th, 2012
I offer up my old, bedazzled back brace to Zoe.
AJ and I went into town today and saw the Hobbit today. It was our Christmad treat to ourselves. It was good, but I didn’t see any signs of CHH in any of the scenes.
9:21 pm on December 25th, 2012
Zoe had a panic attack and called me. I told her that I was going to talk to the nurse and then call her back.
They had given her another narcotic. 🙁
So I explained that was the problem and to take that one off the chart.
My sister is with her now and will stay for awhile. I’m glad she lives close.
9:22 pm on December 25th, 2012
I gave the Giant a present today. He was out of hockey tape which is better than duct tape at cold temperature. My Two-legged spotted me the money for the hockey tape. I say, ‘Put it on my tab.’ She did let me pick out the colors for three rolls of tape—pink!
9:28 pm on December 25th, 2012
Oh, no! Zoe had been put through the ringer. I hope they figure out the best casts, braces and medications for our sweet friend soon. There are some pant legs at risk.
9:31 pm on December 25th, 2012
Pink!…That is the opposite of Black, you know…grunt!
9:36 pm on December 25th, 2012
Narcotics!…How the hell hard is it to remove Narcotics from a patient???…grunt!…That hospital does not seem to know the concept and yet this is the “better” hospital…grump!
Zoe!…Hang in there! Melanie will make sure you are taken care of…wheeze!…Did you like my little card??…heh!
9:37 pm on December 25th, 2012
Rio: I know! Isn’t it great? I half-heatedly asked my two-legged for her permission and she full-heatedly agreed that pink is a good color. She did grab one black roll which she assured me wouldn’t go on my tab. The Giant just laughed when he opened the present.

Will it know Santa? *<|:-)=
Well done to your friend Rio, cooking all that yummy food.
Boxing day – good question OH, i heard that used to be when the English gave gifts to their servants and tradesmen, but think they said on QI that's a myth. The dictionary is standing by the former, though.
Ref to Dawson's question last night, Cricket is doing pretty well. Loving the turkey. Not walking much the last couple of days, maybe it's the cold change we've had… She said thanks for the tummy rubs.

Wolfie: if this had been an actual test…
10:53 pm on December 25th, 2012
Thanks for telling us about Boxing Day, Liz. No sooner had we asked the question than we all fell sound asleep in front of t.v.
Going up to our warm bed now. G’night. See youse on Boxing Day!
10:57 pm on December 25th, 2012
Yes Wolfie. If this had been an actual test we would have heard you. Heh. Are you having trouble with the blog?
Speaking of trouble, Dawson had trouble with Alice M. Johnson last night. When Dawson got into bed (which is rather tall for her) she sort of did her little hop up and then started to slide down under the blankets. That is when she discovered the little splorty present that Alice had left her. YUCK! She had to not only clean up her own body but change all the bedding. Poor Dawson. I think the term for her feelings was “spitting mad”. She was really tired and didn’t want all that extra work before bed.
Alice just gave me a “So?” look.
Speaking of bed. Goodnighty noodle to youse guys and G’day to Liz.
Dad just got up so I have to make him a little something and then I am going to bed.
11:00 pm on December 25th, 2012
Dawson’s itinerary starting tomorrow for those of you who wish to track her. Norad is refusing the service. An old fat white guy gets tracked, but Dawson, no luck…
Return flights:
Alaska Airlines flight # 37 on Wednesday December 26th Mpls. to Seattle leaving at 1:20 pm arriving at 3:10 pm.
Alaska Airlines flight # 2490 on Dec. 26th, Seattle to Bellingham leaving at 5:55 pm arriving at 6:35 pm.
And on Thursday:
Central Mountain Air flight # 9M 0806 on December 27th from Vancouver to Fort Nelson leaving at 10:15 and arriving home at 1:40.
11:18 pm on December 25th, 2012
My Two-legged calls nights like Dawson’s ‘splorting mad.’ Poor, Dawson—this on top of NORAD refusing to track her whereabouts. Oh, the pugmanity.
11:26 pm on December 25th, 2012
It has been a day of laughter and emotions. If missing loved ones, and hugging the ones we still have. A day of rare treats and delicious nibbles. A day… A very long and happy day.
And now for a peaceful night. Sleep well everyone.
