Test! We’ve tried posting a Merry Christmas message twice, but it hasn’t worked. We don’t think it’s moderated—with all of the naughty things we could say, but don’t, Merry Christmas isn’t on the list.
Merry Christmas!
8:36 am on December 25th, 2013
Yeep! It finally worked. Time for a nap. We’ve been stirring all the night long. We blurred by each of your homes for a visit. Rest assured, no inside trees were marked in the making of our Christmas visits.

Mostly laughter here today. The Pack loved their reindeer cookies, the toys? Not so much.
Amen to the beautiful prayer from last night.

Our Lady is wait, wait, waiting for everyone else to wake up. She loves Christmas morning not because of the presents, but because of the feeling Christmas morning has.
We wonder instead of coal, Santa just put Beau in Rio’s stocking.

Christmas morning greetings to one and all,
Min-pin sized or very tall.
Hope your day’s a real tail-wagger,
With nary a grump or present bragger.

Merry Christmas one and all. Boobear just expressed our thoughts so well up above that we will just second those thoughts.
Beautiful white Christmas morning here. Barb is enjoying a cup of coffee and then will venture over to Josh’s to watch kiddies open presents. Then home for a quiet day relaxing with me,me,me.
The prayer last night was wonderful, as always. Everyone was gone by the time we got back, well, except for Macy who finished up the Night Before Christmas.
9:51 am on December 25th, 2013
When mom started to make the pumpkin pie and found we were out of sugar, she was going to be angry, but then she thought about Macy’s “nary a grump”. Now she’s looking at it in a Pollyanna way. One less task to do today š Ho, ho, ho.

B&M: Our little Macy, like the Golinka and the Storyteller’s prayer is something special. Case closed.

Merry Christmas right back at you, ya stinky little puggle. xoxo
Aww P and L, you are making me blush, which is not that easy for a black dog.
Now to get our resident grump out of bed and on the way to our first stop this morning: our girl Angie’s. Wish me luck.
BBL, dainty licks to one and all.

Thank you Spence and Admin for Chet and Bernie.
I hope everyone has a wonderful day.
(What are yoga toes?)
10:31 am on December 25th, 2013
Melanie. What the? Yoga toes? I had turf toe for a few months. I hope it isn’t like that.
Rio thank you for the lovely card.
Mr.Staff is going out to make a path through the 4 inches of beautiful fluffy snow that fell overnight. He said he would brush it off my ice luminaries. I might light them for today even though they don’t glow much during daylight. Just for the thought.
Mr.Staff has been having problems with freezing lately. I found a gallon of vanilla ice cream in the basement but not even near the freezer. He left it there on the 23rd for some reason. It wasn’t even on the same side of the basement as the freezer.
He also decided, all on his own, to make a recipe he found in the paper. He loves recipes from the paper. I think it is a genetic problem. (He can’t tell how much trouble a recipe will be. He often brings me recipes like this and doesn’t understand why they never get made.) For this 7 layered jello recipe he went out and bought 7 boxes of jello. All different of course. And he started yesterday afternoon making it. The first layer hardened nicely but the second layer had some sweetened condensed milk in it and hadn’t hardened to his liking by bedtime. He was really grumpy because he won’t get all SEVEN layers made by our meal time. Yup. Lots of problems with freezing. He put the 3rd layer in a 6 a.m. this morning. Still not hard.
I might be having a freezing problem also because although the rib roast has been in the fridge and out of the freezer for two days it still is pretty hard. Hmmmm. It is hard to tell though because of the ribs and the hard layer of suet on top. I am not worried yet. Maybe by noon.
Season’s Greetings to all my plunder friends on the blog. You are a big part of my life and I really appreciate you. HUGS!

11:07 am on December 25th, 2013
Merry Christmas to Spence and family, Chet and Bernie, and all the Plunderers!
Thanks for the cute card Rio.
Staff, We are laughing about the ice cream left out of the freezer because that is something my dad would do.
Seven boxes of jello is also pretty funny.

RIO! Your card can only be opened on a desktop, not a tablet, but hope youse have a very Merry Christmas! Glad you got some cookies, too!
Nice GOOGLE doodle today?
AW, T&G were so cute waiting for Santa.
Thank you to Chet, Bernie , Spence, Peter, and Admin for bring us great books, and bringing together the wonderful people and four-leggeds on this blog. Bless you all for your love and support.
I send you all my love and good wishes for this coming year.
And just one more thing….May your days be merry and bright, and may all your Chritsmases be white.
11:32 am on December 25th, 2013
Thank you Melanie. That reminds me of the thing used when one gets a pedicure.
11:55 am on December 25th, 2013
Bee, Yoga toes are very much like those pedi things, except they are jell and stretch them out better.
The ‘rents just finished today’s first meal: chocolate banana walnut pancakes with maple syrup, and bacon on the side. We asked them to please remember to pop the baby aspirins.
12:23 pm on December 25th, 2013
We are having a lovely Christmas here. No crazy relatives yet. They come much later and then we can herd them out the door before it gets too late.
We got rawhide peanut butter logs. Mama says to h e l l with healthy food for just today. Buffet menu is glazed spiral ham, stroganoff meatballs, stuffed scallops and crabs, gourmet mac’n cheese, Fritos with 3 different dips, cheese plate and petit fours and Italian creme fruit filled cake. Nary a vegetable in sight.
She’ll be good again after tomorrow. Promise.
12:47 pm on December 25th, 2013
Merry Christmas to all youse!
My Canadian family is running a day late, so I will spend the day making sweet things for the family gathering which will be tomorrow.
My American family is running a month or so late so we will exchange gifts whenever. Heh, heh, heh.
It’s a joyful day and the 4 inches of snow looks beautiful.
Thanks to Spence for allowing us another year of shared lives with some super duper animals and peoples.
12:51 pm on December 25th, 2013
Merry Christmas! And…no pickles for Alena this year. (Yes, we have pickle flavored potato chips…I think they’re nasty, but Alena and Melanie like them.) I reckon I should go put Alena’s One Direction comforter on her bed.
1:05 pm on December 25th, 2013
We wish we had beautiful, fluffy snow like Dawson and Staff, but we do have a beautiful, clear, sunny day, and each other. We’ll take it.
1:27 pm on December 25th, 2013
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!!!
1:36 pm on December 25th, 2013
Staff, I take it your basement is not as cold as our shed. If we left something out of the chest freezer there, it would be a hard as a brick.
Also, how many layers are there now?
We are up to 9 degrees now.
The feasts sound great. Ours? We had shrimp last night and today is scallops. SautĆ©ed in one of ZoĆ«’s new pans. Ceramic non-stick.
Buddy, there are four directions on a bed. How does a one direction comforter work? What if you put it on the wrong way?
Dawson, I have only one more group of presents to wrap. ySAS and LLL’s. I figure I should do them before I become radio active. They will be joining us in January.
1:38 pm on December 25th, 2013
Really chilly here but the blue sky is well worth it. Grands (2 legged) just left. nice polite visit now off to their 3rd of 5 Christmases, ah, step-families.
1:45 pm on December 25th, 2013
Melanie, *LOL!* Alena says, “WHAT?!” It’s the new tweenie boy band of the week.
1:56 pm on December 25th, 2013
Barb came home from Josh’s with a Sunbeam dog biscuit maker. Now she can make yummy treats for her BFF.
Lyla and Jack also sent a cute stuffed toy for me which temporarily has a little squeaker inside. What fun.
Hope everyone’s day is merry and bright.

B&M is your mom making cookies for you tomorrow? Our mom is making cookies for us, Us, US tomorrow. We like being special š
2:21 pm on December 25th, 2013
Buddy, I read your post to ZoĆ« and we both laughed. Then she said, “Feeling old?
I did! I did know all the music until my guys left home. Hmm. That was twelve years ago . . Oh My Dog, I am old!

Melanie: You can barrow my birthday. That damn pixie who stole my sparkles says I don’t act a day over pup.
2:44 pm on December 25th, 2013
Have any of youse seen The Book Thief? Any good?
2:48 pm on December 25th, 2013
Howlers: I saw it with Coach and Bev. We all liked it. None of has heard anything about it and had no idea what was to expect.
2:51 pm on December 25th, 2013
Sometimes I like to dress like the Giant. I have no idea why, I just can help myself.

3:16 pm on December 25th, 2013
Tenzing, you are more handsome than the Giant IOHO.
3:20 pm on December 25th, 2013
HEY! What’s the….??? How come Mama got a new mouse for Christmas and we didn’t? And why is she so excited about it?
3:21 pm on December 25th, 2013
Thanks, Bella. Mom might go see it tomorrow, or perhaps it will be the dog park instead.
Tenzing, you do bear a striking resemblance to The Giant. You are both quite handsome.
3:22 pm on December 25th, 2013
Buddy&Leno: I had no idea who or what the One Directions were. I did look it up.
Melanie: I didn’t know Yoga toes either. Ceramic non-stick pans. Now those I know about! Bought myself a small one just for eggs.
Nap time. You coming BearSpiritDog?
3:23 pm on December 25th, 2013
Merry Christmas everyone. I really like this Christmas thingie a lot — especially the wrapping paper. And as an added bonus, sometimes you even get something inside. LIfe can’t be any better than that.
More seriously, on behalf of me, my mom and dad, wishing all of our blog family a loving and caring Christmas with friends and family, and to a really good 2014!
3:23 pm on December 25th, 2013
The boarder came home from doing Christmas with his daughter and felt domestic. Here is what he did!

Santa bread, and…
3:26 pm on December 25th, 2013
Snowman bread š
4:14 pm on December 25th, 2013
That’s right, Teddy, your are a newbie at this holiday stuff. Have fun and let the folks spoil you a little. It makes them feel good.
Melanie, honestly, Barb thought you were just making a joke about One Direction. She has you beat on age by a few years, and SHE knew who they were. All the tween girls are in love with them.
Barb didn’t see the Book Thief but her sister did and recommended it. She said it was a film that Barb would like.
4:17 pm on December 25th, 2013
I forgot to mention! In my stocking, I found what have to be the longest Slim Jims I have ever seen…they’ve got to be a foot long! Chet would be in doggie heaven. For about 3.8 seconds.
4:21 pm on December 25th, 2013
One Direction – 5 young British (maybe Irish too) guys that sing pop music. They have been popular in the US for 2 or 3 years. Taylor Swift even dated one of them, Harry Styles for a few months. Not sure if she wrote a song about him after their breakup, as she usually does.
4:31 pm on December 25th, 2013
Not having any Tweens around, my education has been neglected.
Teddy! Have fun. GLAD has a video on her Facebook page of Papi opening a gift. He is very careful. She also has a video of one of their Kats having a good time with some Katnip.
It’s Darah, the dozer’s first Christmas isn’t it? Did she getto eat the fantastical bread?
Dawson, any hints on the use of the pan?
4:32 pm on December 25th, 2013
Don’t feel bad, Melanie. We had no idea who or what One Direction is. Taylor Swift? Who didn’t she date?
Taylor Swift is from our area. A little 8-year old girl has been very sick and dying in our community (West Reading). She had two dying wishes: to talk to Taylor Swift, and to see/hear Christmas carolers. Last Friday, she talked to Ms. Swift via Skype, and on Saturday night 10,000 people showed up to carol on her street outside her house. Early this morning, she died. {Sob}
4:38 pm on December 25th, 2013
Melanie, we will “break bread” with dinner tonight and each of we in the HOH gets a “taste” of people food. Darah is loving the cold weather and has brought us chunks of ice from the pool through out the day. She into the spirit of giving š
4:42 pm on December 25th, 2013
Oleys, we saw that little girl on t v. She was too sick to come outside and see the carolers, but she gave them a thumbs up from inside. How sad for her family, and to pass on Christmas day is worse. Hopefully they are looking at it as that she was able to see her wishes granted.
Yes, Barb is more exposed to the pop music since she has one tween and one teen Granddaughter. I think the boys were all in their teens when they started singing.
4:45 pm on December 25th, 2013
Ruff Rider: It was nice of your maw and paw to leave those cookies out last night. It was good to have a snack after our devil dog exercises with you.
Howlers: Sniff.
5:28 pm on December 25th, 2013
Tenzing: You are looking very handsome dressed in black!
HOH: Loved the Santa and Snowman bread!
RIO! Are you still opening presents ?

6:43 pm on December 25th, 2013
That is magical, Melanie. How do they do that?
6:45 pm on December 25th, 2013
Golly!….We are all finally home!…wheeze!sneeze!….Had a great time at the relatives of you-know-who and we all out-did ourselves on the eating part…gurgle!…Presents were opened and bows were stuck on me an Beaus flat headsā¦.sniff!
Presents!….And the best thing is there are still some presents to open. They are under my little Christmas tree right nowā¦.chuffle!….Someone says we will open them in just a little bit. She did all the driving there and back again and needs to rest for a bit. ā¦.grunt!gruffle!
7:01 pm on December 25th, 2013
I have no idea Maggie!
Riƶ, it is always a trial when presents need to be opened and someone has to rest.
7:05 pm on December 25th, 2013
Rio: the food must have been good. Did your friend take left-overs home? I still have one gift to open…I spread them out over the day. Sadie can look forward to the treats from Rick’s Knife Shop. I picked up special canned food for her yesterday at $6 a can. She better like it.
7:06 pm on December 25th, 2013
In honor of Frank and All The Nation Within . .

7:14 pm on December 25th, 2013
Ham!….Scalloped taters, broccoli w/cheese from a jar, sweet green marsh-mellowie dish – no clue what it was, sweet potatoes (spit), rolls and relish dish….wheeze!….We were all very hungry by the time it was all on the table….gurgle!
7:15 pm on December 25th, 2013
I’m in moderation because I tried to put up two photos. I’ll try again later.
7:41 pm on December 25th, 2013
We had delish black pepper crusted roast beef, with a horseradish cream sauce, roasted potatoes, onions, and carrots and some peas. And of course 14 Hands Hot to Trot red wine (reminds Mom of Annie). Now we are looking for a movie to watch on Direct TV or Amazon. Not succeeding.
7:44 pm on December 25th, 2013
Belle Starr: As long as you have your red beard and hair, I think your good.
Being sparkly is easier than walking on four paws.
7:47 pm on December 25th, 2013
Teddy: I hope you, your mom , and pop had lots of fun today. I hope you got a lot of special treats and some yummy food to eat. I don’t want your Timmy to be empty.
7:49 pm on December 25th, 2013
Wow!….I am almost speechlessā¦snort!….Our presents under the little tree have been opened and I am in awe at how perfect and amazing they are. It’s like the guys who gave us these gifts actually know us, unlike the strange gifts someone gets from relatives who have known her all her life….grunt!!
7:49 pm on December 25th, 2013
We have watched a ton of sweet and entertaining holiday-themed movies. Tonight, for a change of pace, we have Hitchcock. So far it is really good, and since Psycho was the first scary movie Barb ever saw, it is especially entertaining. When Barb was a kid Hitchcock had a 30 minute show on t v every week.
8:06 pm on December 25th, 2013
Jeez, Teddy , I meant, I don’t want your tummy to be empty!!! GAH !
8:07 pm on December 25th, 2013
RIO! Sounds like youse had a lot of fun!
8:13 pm on December 25th, 2013
Melanie, we loved the magic piano! Pleasant dinner here even though mom wasn’t going to cook. Applewood smoked turkey breast broasted with potato wedges and onion with garlic and parsley, candied yams, green bean casserole, stuffing. No pie cause no sugar…for another day. Plenty of food. We are as full as ticks š
8:14 pm on December 25th, 2013
Rose!…I can truly say this Christmas turned out better than expected. Not because of the presents, but because her small little family all seemed very happy today and glad to be with each other….sniffle!…It has been a hard couple of years, but I think now things are looking up for all of them…wuffle!…For me, it was because of the great presents I got…heh!heh!…Letās see, I got a stuffed squirrel, a box of milky bones just my size, and a box of greenies for joints ā I LOVE THESE THINGS!….snort!….Then I got a special Rockies medallion (tag) that she will put on my harnessā¦heh!heh!…Beau didnāt get much. He did get a Broncos tag for his harness. That is it. Nothing else. ā¦.chuffle!
8:19 pm on December 25th, 2013
Now Rio are you sure some of your toys weren’t Beau’s toys in the first place? Just saying… Also remember, Christmas is about sharing
8:20 pm on December 25th, 2013
and caring.
8:24 pm on December 25th, 2013
RIO! Isn’t it nice when family can get together and have fun? Wow, you got some great stuff. Santa must have surely thought you were nice this year. Question, what are greenies for joints…sounds a little unlawful. Oh, and why didn’t Beau get more presents?
8:35 pm on December 25th, 2013
Rio, did you take Beau’s presents?
8:36 pm on December 25th, 2013
Joints!….They are legal in this state soon, you know…grunt!….Greenies For Joints. They are filled with a vitamin Glue-cosa -something but they taste GREAT!…snort!….
We get oneI get one every day after the walkā¦.chuffle!…No matter what ā even if we do not walk, I get oneā¦sniff! ā¦.Now I have a boat-load of themā¦heh!heh!8:38 pm on December 25th, 2013
Sammie!…No! I did not…snort!….Like I said, he did not get much of anything at all…grunt!
8:40 pm on December 25th, 2013
RIO! Thank you for clarifying the meaning of joints. I was worrit you might be arrested.
8:42 pm on December 25th, 2013
Beau, did you get a lot of presents? You have been so good. It upsets me to hear that Santa may have left your stocking empty.
8:45 pm on December 25th, 2013
Rose!….Beau is busy looking for his
stuffed squirrelold gross bear…sniff!…He probably will not be posting tonight, not if I can help it…grunt!8:47 pm on December 25th, 2013
Plus!…Beau is also busy watching “The Bible” on The History Channel right now….snort!…During commercials he looks around like he has lost something…ding-dog-dong!…heh!
8:50 pm on December 25th, 2013
RIO! You naughty pug! I would like to gently pull your tail.
8:52 pm on December 25th, 2013
One last thing…
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!
Nighty nite!
Liz, enjoy your day!
8:53 pm on December 25th, 2013
Rose!…Her brother pulled both our tails every chance he got…grump!…THAT GUY!. But even Beau did not bite him, cuz we both adore him and follow him every where…chuffle!
8:54 pm on December 25th, 2013
Sounds like those who have checked in so far have had pleasant days. When we woke mom up at 6:30 this a.m., she told us that today was about traditions and not about gifts. She was thinking back to the evil step-kids waking her up Christmas a.m. to see what Santa brought, even though she had just gotten to sleep š
8:54 pm on December 25th, 2013
Goodnight!…Rose!…You did not tell me what you got for Christmas…sniff!…What the heck!
8:57 pm on December 25th, 2013
Riƶ, sigh.
I’m still being moderated, but that’s okay. I thought of something else to add.
This is in honor of Franklin. A hero. As are all The Nation Within. (And Kats)
Some work by sitting in our laps and some work by pulling sleds.
They love us, work to please us, and give their hearts unconditionally.
8:57 pm on December 25th, 2013
9:06 pm on December 25th, 2013
Melanie!….Why, oh why, are you “sighing” at me?….sniff!
Franklin!…He will live on in my pug heart because I am sure he and I were related…snuffle!
9:09 pm on December 25th, 2013
Melanie: We have your Franklin with his collar of honor. He and Ros have not left you.
9:14 pm on December 25th, 2013
Darah is sulking in the bird room. She misses her paw pal too. So young to have a hard lesson, but she will persevere.
Haven’t heard from many mid- to western Plunderers. Hope all are safe and happy.
9:28 pm on December 25th, 2013
It is snowing here in northern Illinois, but we are safe and sound in our little home. Movie was good, would recommend it to any of you old timers.
Those pictures are a nice tribute to our dear Franklin. He will be missed.
9:50 pm on December 25th, 2013
Good night all. We will send our love and admiration to Frank as we head off to Dreamland.
9:50 pm on December 25th, 2013
One Direction is on tv right now. They aren’t bad.
Melanie: I love the magic piano especially the old guy who started dancing to the jazz piano, mussed up his own hair and pretended to play the piano. What a great guy!
I’m saluting Franklin.
10:00 pm on December 25th, 2013
It was a good day. We only had 2 (((crazy))) relatives here, just for a short time, then they went home! But they did bring great personalized doggie biscuits for us. Unfortunately, they also brought a bag of nip for the Wrotten Kats. And while the folks were having dinner, Sage found the nip.
We spent the rest of the evening trying to get a very high kitty off the ceiling.
We kinda think Mama should have left him there. tee hee
10:01 pm on December 25th, 2013
Videos!…All those videos look like they are directed and have actors in them to me…sniff!…Too glossy to be real…grunt!
10:05 pm on December 25th, 2013
Videos!….Meaning the Piano one we saw today and the Flash Mob ones weāve seenā¦.sniff!….All too edited to be ārealāā¦sniff!
10:08 pm on December 25th, 2013
O’Howlers. We had rib roast crusted with pepper/garlic/salt and horseradish cream sauce too. (Great Minds) We also had garlic mashed, green beans, sweet carrots and home made biscuits. No dessert but there was plenty of candy around. It was beef from the guy who rents some of our land for pasture for his cattle. We get a quarter from him every year! Yummy!
