Good mornning, everyone! Sunny and 28 here going up to 36. When our people leave for AK next Tuesday, it will be 70 with thunderboomers. We made the boarder in the basement promise us, us, us that we can check under his bed for dust bunnies if that happens. Crazy to sit and stare? Cool. Kinda like day dreaming.

All those questions in the doggy quiz are symptoms of age-related dementia in dogs. The vets have known about this condition for a long time. There is a drug for it that may or may not help.

This gets awfuler and awfuler. The latest report from Jay and Tyb:
4 hours, two plumbers, and $350.00 later, I still am without water. The plumbers ascertained that my lines from the curb shut off to the house are open. The frozen section must be in the city line on the other side of the street. The city has no idea how long it will be before they are able to thaw mains.

This is terrible for Jay and Tyb. We don’t know how they are coping. Although, yesterday when Mom dropped her Prius off for inspection, she learned that they have been without water all week. And they are just down the street from where Mom works. The breakage is somewhere between the two.

Barb loved Leonard Nimoy and Startrek back in the days when it was a t v show -late 60’s. We just read that he created the hand sign, which reminded him of the way rabbis ended their service.

Wose, we also logged on to the NY Post website, and didn’t see anything more about the dog. We do not have a good feeling about it, due to the fact that the dog walker was in possession of the collar and sweater. But maybe we have just watched too many crime shows. Hoping for the best.

We have not yet renewed our Insider subscription. We figured we would, given that it is the only game in town, as many of you have said. But after watching and tracking the Quest FOR FREE, we are second-guessing the choice to give money to Insider. The Quest covered so much better, and all videos were free, even each and every speech. What does Insider do to deserve the money they charge?

Mom went to see the people v e t today 🙁 The dr.s told her not to catch anything else except us. Extreme short course of anit-biotics and an Rx cough syrup. He says it is some kind of sinus/upper respiratory thing. But thinks with mega drug should get knocked out quickly. Still has the Airborne and mask for crowded enclosed places.
We will also miss Nimoy/Spock.

HOH, Went by the library with Lyla and Jack after school and played for awhile. They have sort of a neat thing for kids, which you might be interested in for your library. They have backpacks which are filled with related materials on a subject: i.e. insects, animals, astrology, cooking, etc. They are tagged as Preschool, Primary, or Intermediate. Then you check out the whole bag. Not sure how they inventory the contents, but it seems like a great idea.
Ghost Hawk was in, so sat and read that for a bit while the kids played on computers. It is easy reading, of course, but very interesting.

Staff – you can any kind of food you want – sandwiches, chips, m&m’s. You just can’t take beverages through security. But there are always numerous (outrageously overpriced) food shops along the concourse past the security checkpoint where you can buy beverages that you can take onto the plane.

Staff: I usually bring a container of mixed nuts and cheerios, some cheese (not stinky cheese!), olives (not stinky ones!), some fresh fruit and of course, chocolate! You don’t like chocolate so you will have to substitute. I drink water, plain and simple. I don’t know if your immune system allows you to fill up from the drinking fountain but that is what I do with reusable water bottle. I fill up before getting on the plane.

I know what it is like to search for a beloved pet in the dark. When Abbie was really young she got out and was out all night. In the evil city! It was awful. But she did come home. She had been hiding under the neighbors deck for most of the time.
Alice once tried to get into that same neighbors house when she had gotten out. But I was right on her tail and she didn’t manage to sneak in although the neighbor was willing. Heh. I snatched her up from right under that neighbors nose
ELmer come HOME.
And thanks for the snack ideas guys. I won’t be getting water from water fountains but I will buy some before entering the airplane.

All of us here want to thank all youse for your prayers. Our Lady just brought Elmer home. He is safe.
On Friday afternoon our lady went out to the kennel to spend some time with us and there was an open pen and no Elmer. AJ is away training so she was alone to search our wooded property for a couple of hours. She climbed up and down hills on the crusty snow trying to feel Elmer with her heart. Luna joined her to help. After a fruitless search, our lady took to driving the highway looking for Elmer with a prayer in her heart and a half a tank of gas. She spotted him shortly after hitting the road, but lost him in the trees. For the next handful of hours she searched and prayed, prayed and searched. Around 930, our lady called MaBella to ask her to pray. What did MaBella say to our Lady? First, she told our Lady to pull over, and then she said, “Elmer isn’t lost, he’s just lost to you.” Our Lady listened. MaBella then said, “This is a lot like the ninety and nine.” Our Lady started weeping again. This was different than the sobs she sobbed when she was walking through the woods and caught up to a couple on a winter hike. Ever been hugged by a stranger, wearing a handgun in a chest holster why you cry about a lost dog named Elmer? No? Our Lady has. Beau and MaBella must have been texting on their little go-phones to have spoken about the ninety and nine.
MaBella said she knew our Lady would not stop looking if she could help it, but it was dark and the highway was busy. She made our Lady that after doing one more drive of the highway she would go home and could resume the search at first light. The conversation was ended by reminding our Lady that the Creator is mindful of all his creatures including old dogs, especially old dogs.
Our Lady returned home and checked each of the dog houses in case the prodigal dog sneaked in while she was searching for him. Still no Elmer. She was just about to check online for the time of sunset so she could plan the continued search when she received a message on facebookie. Someone had found an old dog and might he be our old dog? Yes!
Thank you again for your prayers. Our prayers are no prayers of gratitude.

I am only now reading this news. Last night was Pizza Night, so iPaws were on lockdown. Whew!!! Thank Dog Elmer is safely home. I trust he is no worse for the ordeal?
