Memories

This photo of a certain blended Scotch posted in yesterday’s comments brought back a certain (hazy) college memory.

Glad he liked my photo! I never could develop a taste for Scotch Whiskey. Now Irish whiskey or Kentucky bourbon – that is a different story!

And I thought the dogs were cute.

    Greetings!

I am without my own laptop until Wednesday. :^(
When Grizz is not using his super-duper laptop, I can take a few minutes to sneak in and use it.

I am enjoying the pictures from the traveling C.Hobbitz!

BMALS: That book sounds interesting…I am going to check it out! Right now, I am reading “American Heiress”. It is a non-fiction account of Patty Hearst.

A WosenGrizz happy birthday (belated) goes out to the Giant! I hope ice-cream cake was involved!

    Good day to all!

Good morning! Hope all had a good weekend!

    Hobbit, love the pics.
Rio, can’t wait for the pics.
Buddy, yeah for all being back home.

Mom has a good friend whose husband is undergoing a battery of test to see if he is a good candidate for a heart transplant. His heart is only working at 5% capacity. He is with the Veterans Hospital and transplants are done in Utah. Her life will be uprooted as she goes with him if he passes the test. She is the only one working and is concerned about losing her job. Mom has taken one burden off her by volunteering to take care of her cats for the duration of the Utah stay (if that comes about). Her house in on the way home from work for Mom so it is not a problem.

BooBear, if anyone knows how to care for cats, your mom does. They are lucky to have you as a friend.

When Dad was getting treatment for cancer, he and Mom used to wonder about how the people handled it who came from all over the country for treatment. Mom and Dad got to go home every night (except for the surgery). If Mom’s friend does get on the list, they will probably have to go to Utah and be in a holding pattern until a heart is available. That could be months. He is not well enough to go home now. I guess they have to take things one step at a time.

BooBear, everyone handles what they have to. None of us knows what that will be until the time comes. Most are stronger than anyone had thought. We don’t know your friends but will keep them in our prayers.

BooBear: If your friend works for an employer with 50 or more employees within a 75 mile radius, she should look into FMlA to protect her job for up to 12 weeks.

More to BooBear: There is a heart shaped lump under the Quilt. The Thieves! will make sure it is stocked with the favorite treats of your friend and her husband.

Today is a big day at Snowhook. Today is the day we breakdown camp on the glacier and bring all the dogs and equipment home. Wheeze!

Kelly and Baye traveled near Chattanooga on their way to Fl. last week, and spent the night there. They said it was beautiful, although they didn’t get there till midnight due to the Sammy vs car issue. They at least got to see the area on their way the next morning.

HOH, thank you for the offer, but they were there last week, and met up with BF Zac and his folks in Chattanooga, then traveled on to St. Petes the next day. Normally, Baye will fly when she comes home.
