It is supposed to snow anywhere from 2 to 12 inches today depending on where one lives. I hope the forecast is wrong.

My old house has four showings today!

Good Boo Day Day to everyone.

Hobbit, we saw where there are two days this week with snow. We are hoping that the new house is closer to cook inlet therefore does not get pile up of snow we had when we were there in March. No matter what enjoy it revel in a new season and pray for spring.
Good news about the showings. The old hobbit hotel is a lovely home and should sell quickly.
We are looking forward to the new hobbit hotel hopefully in March for the 50th Iditarod (which now has 55 musher signed up for it.)

Anchorage schools closed today because of snow and slushy, slick roads. So far snow hasn’t showed up on the west side where my new house is AND the west side is only supposed to get an inch or less. Yay! I am happy about that.

Hobbitz: No four letter words please! I am glad to hear you will have less white stuff to shovel at the new place – always a plus.

I am going to leave the flower garden one more day but tomorrow night the forecast temperature is 35 degrees F(1 degree C) so unless that changes I will harvest as many sunflowers as possible. So depressing to go to bed with a full garden blooming and wake up to a dead garden. This is only a light freeze so some flowers will survive for a couple more days.

I am almost embarrassed to say the high is 78 today and very pleasant. It will zoom back up into the high 80s by the beginning of October. The forecast looks like it will swing back and forth between the 70s and the 80s until at least mid November, maybe longer. I heard our winter will be mild and dry this year. Sorta a bummer. Not only do I need rain to finish the garden in the front yard but not sure how my winter crops are going to do with a mild winter. But I will try.

Yesterday I started moving things back. Once the new gas line was finished I put the brick patio back so a refrigerator of any kind could be delivered. That’s done so time to put things back. The little greenhouse table is back and Freyja’s feeding station fits nicely underneath. She doesn’t mind at all. I retrieved the old baker’s rack from the side of the house where it has been rusting nicely and it is now next to it. It will hold at least three trays of seedling starters. Those are 72 2 inch pots each so that is a lot of plants I can start, but not until I have the other three raised beds built and filled.

I learned recently that Diana gets her black coat from her Golden Retriever ancestors. Something about recessive genes and if one is missing the coat is black, not yellow. Well, none of her mutt mix have those golden genes except for the Golden, likely on her Mom’s side so that is how she ended up black. I always thought it was an Eastern European working GSD as they are often black as well. I suppose it could be both, she is such a BIG girl.

With the weather relatively mild I may move a few more pots in the back yard. With a second dog bed I can’t put them all where they were, plus some will be going in the ground eventually. That is the new phase, starting to get things in their permanent locations. If we ever get rain, the blood orange and lime trees can finally be planted out front. Plus a few rose trees and bushes.

Well, I spoke too soon and am being punished.

Who sent the thunderstorms? Been raining for three hours, which is kinda nice. It cooled fast and now I don’t have to water the yard. The dogs are not pleased but I’m not letting wet dogs in the yard. It not that cold and there is a dog house and plenty of trees and bushes if they don’t want to stand around in the rain. They should be dry by bedtime and the rain will stop by their dinner time.

Mlaiuppa, you always amaze me! You have so many projects going on. Do you ever sit down? I think I must be a very lazy retiree lol.

The talk of the clean sink yesterday was interesting. I have felt that 2 things must always be done. Dishes washed and put away and make the bed every morning. I always wipe out the sink (kitchen and bathroom) after using them. Other than that, I am a sporadic cleaner. Cat litter boxes are ALWAYS done though.

Hobbit! Are you regretting get rid of some of the stuff you donated/trashed/sold when you were packing up? You had so many cool Alaskan art items.
