Congratulations to new FOM Maizy! Looking forward to hearing all about her. Love the holiday outfit! I hope she is a better driver than some of the humans on the road! :^)

Thinking of our Alaska friends. Stay safe!

    Good day to all!

Today is a previously scheduled volunteer day. As I drove around Anchorage, I saw a lot of normalcy. Some businesses had boarded up windows but otherwise things look good. However, if you talk to people at all, they all had stories of smashed up household goods. A few hadn’t been able to sleep at all last night, some were out of their homes because they were afraid and dreaded going back home etc.

I am pretty tired. Today is a little more depressing as I look around my home. Otherwise, I and the animals are fine. Take care

Our last 5.something aftershock was around midnight. My Lady stayed up texting with coworkers and friends who were anxious and worried. On Thursday, her coworkers threw her a party to celebrate her 10 year anniversary at work. They all wrote things on postit notes that are inside jokes or remind them of her. Stoic was one of those words. She must get that from me.

This morning the Giant and my Lady drove into town to get dog food. We usually have 400-500 pounds of dog food on any given day, but they wanted extra in case the expense increases and the access decreases until the roads between the valley and Anchorage are fixed. The worst part?—-you could smell the spilled alcohol of the grocery store’s liquor store from the parking lot. My Lady says it was nauseating.

The second worst part of their shopping? Sure, we have an additional 500+ pounds of dog food, but nary a pallet of Slim Jim was purchased.

I think this earthquake has taught us all a very valuable lesson—don’t leave Slim Jim procurement in the paws of the Giant and my Lady. You will only be disappointed.

Ole Doc, sorry about the Slim Jims. Hope the ground returns to normal soon.
Quakes are never a lot of fun. Be safe.

Sadie can not comprehend 1,000 pounds of dog food. She wants a photo to post over her bed so it’s the last thing she sees before lights out and the first thing she sees in the morning.
