Making Progress
Bernie took out some money. It had recently passed through the hands of a woman – I smelled perfume on the bills. Actually the same kind of perfume that Tulip wears. Tulip works for Livia Moon in the back part of her coffee place in Pottsdale. Livia Moon gave Bernie a real big kiss the last time we were there. It all goes back a long time to when Bernie was at Fort Hood, wherever that may be, and Livia was running a little nearby operation “to cheer up the boys,” she said. Is all that in To Fetch A Thief? Some? Any? Meanwhile the perfume scent was overpowering that other scent, very faint anyway, but important in this line of work. For any newcomers out there maybe this is the time to mention that we’re partners, me and Bernie, in the Little Detective Agency. Got any missing people in your life? That’s our specialty. Get in touch. We could use the money, on account of the way our finances are a mess. First came Hawaiian pants. Then tin futures. Tin futures turned out to be kind of complicated. Something happened in Bolivia, or maybe not Bolivia. Name some other place like that.
Meanwhile, Bernie and Foster were talking. The sound was kind of pleasant. Of course I always like hearing Bernie talk: he has a beautiful voice.

Chet: That faint scent – very important in your line of work. What is that scent?
4:14 am on May 22nd, 2010
ARHGGGG!
Delayed by perfumed bills!
Hope Nan comes back. She has a farm (at least she has sheep, they pretty difficult to keep in the backyard). You can't plant Newfoundlands. They like to dig holes, especially Grace, but they don't like it if you try to plant them in the holes.
5:00 am on May 22nd, 2010
I wonder if the money was a loan/gift from Tulip or Leda? Probably Leda. She seems like a nice gal with a big heart and an acute business sense. And it would appear that the relationship between Leda and CB goes way, way back. Not that it matters. The money must be wrapped up in plastic bags because Chet would have picked up the perfume scent sooner.
5:01 am on May 22nd, 2010
Yes, I knew how much progress we would be making from today's title.
5:04 am on May 22nd, 2010
Isn't this delicious? It's nice (and sometimes maddening) to savor each clue, mull it over, and discuss it (and everything else under the puckish sun). We live in such a fast paced society that it's refreshing to stop and smell the perfumed bills.
5:04 am on May 22nd, 2010
Oh, B. Stover you are right. The title does not have Tin Futures in it.
5:06 am on May 22nd, 2010
Wölfie, Here's some bling!
You are right. It is the journey and not the destination that matters.
(Just wish the journey was a bit faster!!)
5:06 am on May 22nd, 2010
I want to know what that faint scent is but I don't want to know.
5:14 am on May 22nd, 2010
Wölfie, a double exact posting time!
5:15 am on May 22nd, 2010
Thanks for the bling, Melanie. Mine is still MIA. I still think Foster keeps stealing it and bringing it back, just to annoy me.
My Wolfe heart is a little sad today because my boys are not doing well. Mom says that they need time to heal and to have Faith, but I know that she is sad also. We miss our boys. I don't think I'll be doing much Blurring today.
Instead, mom and I are going to pull some weeds. She says that always makes her feel better. Maybe I'll get lucky and I'll find a butterfly to chase.
5:15 am on May 22nd, 2010
Melanie – it must be magic!!
5:19 am on May 22nd, 2010
Wolfie: Leda is Bernie's ex-wife.
Nan: Welcome. Your blog is wonderful. I'm going to spend some time looking at the book lists and the recipes.
5:22 am on May 22nd, 2010
Oh, sorry about your boys, Wölfie. It's hard to grow up especially in these times. If they can just get through now, life becomes different. I won't say easier, but different. I wasn't sure I'd get either of the sons through high school. I don't like middle schools or high schools. I wish there were alternatives to smashing seventeen million teens with small frontal lobes together in a building.
5:26 am on May 22nd, 2010
Wolfie: I like your description of blurring, especially the part about deconstructing cells.
I'm going to farmer's market now.
6:02 am on May 22nd, 2010
Dear Melanie and Wolfie: You two had exact timing this morning. A second away from a triple posting together. Incredible.
Wolfie and mom: My thoughts are with you and my prayers are for your boys.
6:05 am on May 22nd, 2010
Siber H: The weather here is freezing. Cold. Someone had told me it was warm here, but they were mistaken. My fingers and toes are like icicles. You would love it. Wish you were here.
6:19 am on May 22nd, 2010
Money!…The money is from Col. Bob of course… snort!… Why the hell would Leda be giving money to Bernie to find Astrid?… yeesh!
Anyhoo!… Today is a big day… snort!… A whole lot of rock is being delivered this morning for us and our neighbors combined driveways in the back of our homes… grunt!… Once it is poured out, someone along with our neighbors will be working their tails off spreading it out evenly over the whole huge area… wheeze!… I will be helping from a healthy distance… heh!
6:21 am on May 22nd, 2010
Card!… Do you think Bernie’s business card is big enough today?…snort!…
6:24 am on May 22nd, 2010
Rio! Very clever! I didn't even think of that! It is definetely C-Bob's money. Because Leda wouldn't give a damn.
And, speaking of perfume, Mommy is putting some on right now. What is she-Oh. She's leaving! Noo!
6:41 am on May 22nd, 2010
NOT Leda. LIVIA!!!! Tulip works for Livia and the money smells of her perfume!! Sorry about that!
They both start with "L" and they sound alike! It's easy to get confused!
And speaking of L names, Lexi, just remember that you will be having fun with Megan! Maybe she'll take you shopping for a new outfit! Or a new sparkle collar! And maybe she'll let you eat ice cream and cake for breakfast! This might work out in your favor after all!
6:43 am on May 22nd, 2010
Lexi!… It must be Col. Bob’s money because he is the client and Bernie talked to him about Foster wanting money for information… snort!… I thought your mommy wasn’t leaving till May 28th?…. grunt!… What day is it – did I over sleep?…. wheeze!…Has the rock already been spread without me? ….gasp!
6:43 am on May 22nd, 2010
Rio, I can't picture you helping from a distance. I think of you in a management position, supervising from a distance. Maybe making sure that "someone" brings you cold beer from time to time!
6:46 am on May 22nd, 2010
If the money came from CB, then why does it have Tulip's perfume on it?
6:50 am on May 22nd, 2010
I am not seeing the link to Nan's blog. Can someone point me in the right direction?
6:53 am on May 22nd, 2010
Blur!… Maybe Tulip only deals in cash….snort!
6:53 am on May 22nd, 2010
Post of May 15, Bernie tells Col. Bob about Foster wanting five grand and Col. Bob says, "Just do it."
Rio: I don't understand rocks in the driveway. How large are the rocks? I wondered about the card today also.
Received Lights Out the other day and may start reading it today.
6:55 am on May 22nd, 2010
Wolfie: You just click on Nan's name which is in blue…meaning there should be a website. (My name is in blue because I filled out the website space when entering my info on the blog…by mistake.)
6:57 am on May 22nd, 2010
Oooh….I wondered why some names are blue and some are white! Thanks, Bee.
6:57 am on May 22nd, 2010
Wölfie, If the name of the poster is in blue, then they have a website and you can just click their name. Except of B. Stover. She is special!
7:09 am on May 22nd, 2010
Stover!… I will try to get someone to take some before and after photos… snort!… Three homes share the driveway… grunt!… Probably hard to imagine till you see it… cough!…No one has had time to get out and do any yard work yet….sneeze!… So there are weeds galore in the driveway right now….sniff!… We are hoping the rock will cover them up and then my friend will spray something lethal on the whole thing to keep them down all summer…wheeze!… That’s the plan anyway…choke!
7:44 am on May 22nd, 2010
Rock!… no rock yet!… hmmm.
Eddie!… I really enjoyed ‘Lights Out’… snort!… Be prepared for anything to happen… heh!
8:10 am on May 22nd, 2010
Hi Chet and all you "down-belowers". I have been reading this blog from the beginning and it has gotten so unique. I think maybe Rio "kicked it up a notch" as Emeril says. You all are so very very clever. I am learning so much…secret missions – blurring -music – synonims – and who knew the Alan Cumming from the Good Wife was the same guy that's on Masterpiece Theatre. I am going to the groomer now for my haircut. It is not too bad – I get to see lots of other dogs and they put a bow over each ear and everyone says I look very cute, so that's a "good thing". I will hit submit now and hope I did this right. (Took me this long to try so I hope it works) Love the new cover Chet. P.S. B.Stover, feel free to correct this post.
8:12 am on May 22nd, 2010
Ha! Rio, it was a false alarm. Mommy went out shopping for some human stuff, and got me some treats. Megan took me for a walk with Sasha, and Sasha kept tripping over me like she was the freaking Queen of the world. God, do I wish I was a big dog…
And Wolfie? You DO know we are talking about Megan here, right? Megan will do NOTHING BUT annoy the hell out of me the whole time Mommy is gone. Which is 2 weeks. She is PURE EVIL! She probably keeps notes about where I'd be throughout the day and….and…and she'll do something bad, I know that.
8:26 am on May 22nd, 2010
Rock N’ Roll baby!…. Rocks are flying everywhere!… snort!… They went for a second load and will be doing our driveway next!… wheeze!… Lots of dust and that does her and I in with our allergies… cough!cough!sneeze!
8:28 am on May 22nd, 2010
Evil!…. Maybe we need to turn Megan into the Humane Society??…. snicker!
8:44 am on May 22nd, 2010
Thank you so much for your kind welcomes, and praise for my blog!! I wrote a book report about Dog On It here,
http://lettersfromahillfarm.blogspot.com/2010/05/…
8:57 am on May 22nd, 2010
Hey!…. Nan came back!…. snort!…. Howdy Nan….whoops! gotta go!… grunt!… The second load of rock has arrived!….wheeze!
9:19 am on May 22nd, 2010
Rio! Don't get too crazy, again! And don't get drunk At. All. You should be more careful about your health, unlike Megan and I here. We're eating cold pizza, because we're just that awesome. And, ha, Rio! Be careful! I'm guessing you either went or are going to one of those college parties or something that they show on TV. The one when the police show up and arrest them all. Don't get caught! Grab the goody bags on your way out! Ha!
9:21 am on May 22nd, 2010
Nan! Great book report! It also has great examples, too! Well, back to eating some cold pizza. Tailwags and licks, Lexi.
P.S. Megan says hi.
10:09 am on May 22nd, 2010
Welcome Mollie. I hope your grooming went well.
Nan: Welcome again. I'm looking forward to reading your book report.
Be careful Rio….dust is not good.
Lexi: I don't believe that Megan is evil. You need to report specific examples.
10:12 am on May 22nd, 2010
Nan: Welcome. I love the forget-me-nots in your blog. And that you pointed out that the ears on the covers of the first two books do not seem to match the description of Chet's ears as given inside the books.
I thought the DOI cover could be excused as being a silhouette but the THAT cover was harder to ignore as there was more light on the subject. And now that we see how white Chet's other ear is…well, it all leaves me wondering if Chet is going a little Hollywood on us, coloring his hair, not being able to focus on the job at hand, etc.
Mollie (a black poodle): This is a very popular name for nation within a nation members. Welcome.
10:28 am on May 22nd, 2010
Nan: I really enjoyed your book review of DOI and Lexi is right: good examples. Is that your dog pictured with the book? Beautiful. I'm going to try your Louise's Soup but with a bit of pasta rather than spinach…which I prefer in salads and which I'm also going to make.
Dawson: I think that Chet is much too sane to be going a little Hollywood on us. He and Spence just like to tease us.
10:29 am on May 22nd, 2010
Two new people!!! Cool!
Nan, loved your ideas on Chet.
Mollie (the black poodle) glad you are talking to us. At least you know what you are getting into!
It's the same perfume that Tulip wears. . . doesn't mean that Tulip handled the money. Maybe the bank cashier from CB's bank wore the same perfume. I bet that dogs can not only smell the perfume, but the person it's on. Might smell different with each person, though us humans can only smell the smelly stuff. In THAT CB knew he had twin girls. I can't remember if he was divorced though. Any Kindle people able to find that out?
10:39 am on May 22nd, 2010
I hope Riö doesn't get buried under the rocks. Gracie is getting to big to come over and dig him out. Any other diggers out there to keep watch?
11:04 am on May 22nd, 2010
Lexi!… You are giving all the new comers a bad impression of me!… snort!… I can do that all by myself, thank you very much! ….grunt!
Stover!… Here is the way our driveway looks … snort!…There is a long narrow driveway getting to this point….grunt!…It is being rocked too!…wheeze! …

11:15 am on May 22nd, 2010
Rock!… Here is the truck dumping out all the rock that has to be spread for miles and miles it seems!….grunt!… I will be helping with that whole thing from a distance…wheeze!

11:18 am on May 22nd, 2010
Rio: That is a lot of rocks! Are they just dumping the rocks in a pile? Then they have to be spread over all of that area? That is a lot of back-breaking work. Calls will be coming for beer I bet.
Melanie: Page 128 of THAT Col. Bob says to Bernie, "Two girls here–twins. The mom got custody." So, yes, he's divorced.
11:21 am on May 22nd, 2010
Welcome Mollie!! I bet you are a cute girl and I am glad you have joined us. That's cool, we have two Mollies here now, and I have my dear friend Molly (husky) at the dog park. It doesn't get any better than this.
Welcome back Nan. I'm going to your website next.
All this time I thought Admin. was simply being artistic with the blue and white names.
I can dig Rio out if he gets buried in the rocks. My tribe are known far and wide for being diggers. You should see my back yard. I'm going for a lunar look.
11:28 am on May 22nd, 2010
That's an impressive amount of rocks, Rio. When your friend sprays weed killer, you are going to have to keep your little paws off of it for awhile.
I get these ideas from living with my mother.
11:30 am on May 22nd, 2010
It seems to me that the truck should move slowly forward while dumping the stones, that way spreading them down the miles of drive. Then you'd just have to spread from side to side.
I like "lunar look" SH.
11:41 am on May 22nd, 2010
Dawson, thanks for thinking of me. Boy, I wish I was there too. It is hot here today but not nearly as hot as true summer gets.
At least my folks got the air conditioner up and going yesterday. Well, it is not a real air conditioner. It is what's known in these parts as a swamp cooler. They work good here, good enough for a husky.
12:03 pm on May 22nd, 2010
Hi Mollie. I am a black poodle too.
12:57 pm on May 22nd, 2010
Welcome Mollie, and welcome back, Nan. See Rio, I didn't think that they would be scared off by a little Blurring expertise! Nan, I loved your website, especially the butterfly! Mom said that she would cook me up some buttermilk pancakes for breakfast tomorrow. (Well, truthfully, she told dad, but me and Teddy get our shares! We love everything but dry kibble. Ugh.)
Melanie, I visited your website and your Newfies are absolutely stunning! They look like they might be gentle giants. Big, but with sweet and gentle hearts. (Just like me, except for when I am Fierce!!) Lots of us on our blog are Fierce!
Also, I know that Chet didn't specifically say for a fact that the money came from Tulip, but I'm pretty sure it did. I think that her and Bob met up at Fort Hood, and have "stayed in touch."
Plus, Lelia (not Leda) has a big heart and she would be a sucker for helping Bob find his long lost kid. Otherwise, why would Chet have mentioned the perfume at all? My nose is pretty good, but I don't think I would remember someone's perfume, unless it belonged to somebody I really liked. And Chet likes Lelia and her girls, especially since they are such good patters.
1:01 pm on May 22nd, 2010
Rio – is that your red car in the photo?
1:03 pm on May 22nd, 2010
I wonder why Bernie's business card is so big today? Unless his finances are in a bigger mess that he realized, and he's trying really hard to drum up some new business!
1:05 pm on May 22nd, 2010
11 Ton!…. Lots of rocks!… snort!… Its hot and windy here today just to make things more fun….grunt!… The truck did move slowly dumping out the rock down the long narrow driveway from the street….wheeze!… but for some reason ‘the guys’ had the driver dump big piles in front of our driveways… choke!cough!

1:14 pm on May 22nd, 2010
Red!… No, I do not own a car, nor do I drive….snort!… That’s why I am so impressed that Bess can drive!… wow!… She could come pick me up whenever she can abscond with the van!…eh!
1:38 pm on May 22nd, 2010
Isn't abscond a lovely word. My back hurts just looking at all of those rocks, Rio. But thank you for the pictures. I hope that your friend and neighbors are okay.
Wolfie: Livia….Livia Moon.
The bills, of course, could have been in the hands of any woman….money passes from hand to hand after all. I do think it's interesting, however, that Chet mentions it…or that Spence has him mention it. Pondering.
1:57 pm on May 22nd, 2010
I STILL don't get why, at first, C-Bob didn't mention Ray, and he just said that he had 2 twin girls. Wassup with that?
And Rio! You make it too easy to give a bad impression! You're right! I should have left it all to you and haven't said a word! Ha! Just kidding! And thanks for the pics!
B-Stov! Megan is evil and don't you forget it! And don't doubt it! And she's weird. Because, once, she danced around the house with her friend and almost deafened me with that loud crap they call music! God! Why can't she just grow up already, like Mommy and Daddy?
Ugh, anyways, Chet. Make sure to protect Bernie at all costs, and keep an eye out for Foster. Isn't Foster, like, big? I doubt he could take down Bernie, but, the possibility is still out there…So watch out!!!!!
2:31 pm on May 22nd, 2010
Coffee!… I think that Livia’s Friendly Coffee and More place is an interesting little link-up between Col. Bob, Bernie, their history together and possibly Astrid….snort!
Ray!…Bernie told Col Bob he wouldn’t make a deal for anything beside’s Astrid’s whereabouts … snort!… but he was bargaining for info about Ray Jason also… grunt!… This must be one of Bernie’s hunches….wheeze!
2:34 pm on May 22nd, 2010
Lexi: Col. Bob didn't know about Ray himself. And your example doesn't prove Megan to be evil….just a girl with a teenager's or pre-teenager's taste in music. Give her time.
2:40 pm on May 22nd, 2010
Two interesting points Rio.
3:05 pm on May 22nd, 2010
B-Stov! Megan calls me bad names, doesn't take care of me, and almost NEVER takes me on walks. Good enough? SHE IS A LITTLE DEVIL, and she is SO not normal! Ha!
And, anyways, thanks for that information on C-Bob! But, how the hell could he NOT know that he has a son? But, Ray really isn't missing, now is he? I mean, C-Bob only found him once-actually, Ray found C-Bob-and he could be across the country or whatever doing something related to a job. Ray didn't really care-I guess I could say-to come to C-Bob before, and he only did for the money, right? So why would he come to him again? But Astrid is missing. Definetely. But, I have no doubt in my mind that Chet and Bernie will not find her. They are a great team.
3:05 pm on May 22nd, 2010
Just finished watching "Squeeze" The X Files Season 1. Dad and I have decided it's very cold tonight and we will have to shut and lock all the doors and the vents and have the Pack watch the fireplaces. The Pack may be FIERCE, but we are not!
We will have to wait to hear the story that begins the story of Livia's Friendly Coffee and More place. I believe that's in T-FAT. I hope Riö gets an advance copy so he can tantalize us with things he knows and we don't.
Whoops, I just found another weird button for Riö and Wölfie.
Riø and Wølfie. Hmmm. I think I like the other bling better.
Anyhoo,
I think Riö is right about Bernie having a hunch.
3:08 pm on May 22nd, 2010
Lexi, we posted at the same time! That's three times for me today!
Weird.
Give Megan a lot of attention and kisses. She'll probably then take you for a walk just to calm you down.
Astrid was a (how should I put this for a year old puppy) one night interlude for CB just before he was shipped out. He never saw her again.
3:33 pm on May 22nd, 2010
Lexi: Do you now understand why Col. Bob did not know that he had a son (Melanie's explanation)? Bernie has said that Ray is also missing. We don't know why he came to Col. Bob and apparently when Col. Bob gave Ray the money, it was the last time he saw Ray.
Melanie: I'm trying to figure out what that new bling is.
3:36 pm on May 22nd, 2010
Lexi: Is Megan puckish….or impish? Or evil?
3:39 pm on May 22nd, 2010
I was able to put a line through the 'o's in Riø and Wølfie.
I did it by mistake with Riö's name first.
Haven't hear anything from him lately. Hope he's not covered in rocks.
3:49 pm on May 22nd, 2010
Hi Everybody! We had Aunt SamsMom's birthday party today. We had it here and I am so exhausted from all the work. Sam is sleeping right now in the car ride home. I have to go cuddle with Mom on the sofa.
B. – Mom is playing Bookworm on her iPad and is in awe of your over-two-million score.
4:11 pm on May 22nd, 2010
Hey!… Lexi has some incredibly good observations….snort!… We really do Not know if Ray Jason is missing…sniff!… Although, Bernie seems to have a hunch about this….cough!… Astrid is missing but how did Col. Bob find out that Astrid is missing?… grunt!… I don’t remember why he came to Bernie about her in the first place… sneeze!… Does anyone else?
Plus!… For some reason Lexi doesn’t think Bernie and Chet will find Astrid, even though they are a great team….snort!… I wonder if she would be kind enough to explain her reasoning us? …(very long shot question)… heh! …Kids sometimes say the darnedest things and hit it right on the mark!… wheeze!
4:13 pm on May 22nd, 2010
jBee – Livia? Livia? Sigh. That name is giving me a bad time today. And she seems like such a nice lady, pouring all that nice hot coffee for the lonely gents. Lol.
4:21 pm on May 22nd, 2010
Lexi? I don't know how to say this, dear, but for your sake I hope that Megan isn't reading your blog. Remember, your mommy is going away on the 28th and MEGAN will be in CHARGE of you and this could come back and bite you on the butt! (And trust me, I know a lot about butts!)
I would try to be really, really nice to her so that she will be really, really nice to you while your mommy is gone.
However – we will be here at the ready to rescue you should the need arise! Just say the word, right guys and gals? We've got your back!
4:26 pm on May 22nd, 2010
Hi Mollypop. My two million plus score happened months ago and I haven't been able to beat it. I haven't even been able to make more than one million lately. But when you get to one million the "picture" that comes on telling you your level is the Bookworm himself. (I always play one game over a period of several days, never in one sitting.)
My computer-whiz friend and I went to look at ipads last week. (His goal was to make sure I didn't get one but now I think he wants one because of some astronomy app that shows the constellations and whatever else.) I want to get one but I'd probably use it mainly to view videos which means I'd need the one with the most memory. That costs $900 so I'm going to wait a bit.
4:30 pm on May 22nd, 2010
I just went to Nan's website. Great review of Dog On It and love the pictures of the flowers. It's a very pretty, peaceful website.
When I see sheep, I think of Border Collies. Sheep need Border Collies to keep them in line.
Mom wants to try the rhubarb pie recipe. hee hee Keep your paws crossed.
4:35 pm on May 22nd, 2010
I don't know about you, but I am becoming increasingly uneasy. We've got Chet, smelling perfumed money and SOMETHING else, Bernie, with potentially $3,000 more perfumed money in his pocket (remember, CB gave Bernie the ok to pay $5,000), Foster with the advantage of knowledge and cussedness, an abandonned housing development, and (imho) a decomposing body or bodies nearby.
Not good.
It's too early to panic, but I think the time has come for Chet's Jet Setters from Down Under, Down Below, or whatever it is we are to be on Red Alert to help our guys out if necessary.
Semper fi!
4:38 pm on May 22nd, 2010
I thought that Lexi put "not" in her penultimate sentence by mistake.
The first time we heard about Ray was in the helicopter coming back from…..what island, I think it was?…and Col. Bob and Bernie were talking about Col. Bob's son. Later we heard about Col. Bob's son's "case."
4:43 pm on May 22nd, 2010
Dad wants to wait until the 4G ipad is avaiable. I haven't seen one in person yet, since they don't allow our nation inside of Best Buy, but they look really cool on tv. Still, I'd rather have a big bag of chicken jerky treats from Costco, and it costs a lot less. (Mom? Our bag is almost empty.)
Hi Mollypop! The party sounds like it was fun! How far away does Sam live?
4:45 pm on May 22nd, 2010
B. – I think your friend is talking about Star Walk, which we have of course. It's very good.
Don't get an iPad or iPhone to view videos because they don't have Adobe Flash.
4:48 pm on May 22nd, 2010
Rio may have gone to bed early after all his hard work today. He isn't used to manual labor, even if it was from a distance.
I hope he's okay.

Rio should be in a very good mood after this afternoons baseball game. Maybe he is celebrating—hope he got to watch it.

I'm not sure what Adobe Flash does. Mollypop, why do you like the ipad?

Speak!… You talk about me as if I am not here!… snort!… I posted up above less than an hour ago….grunt!… It is true, we are both very, very tired tonight and still have more manual labor to do tomorrow… wheeze!… All she could muster for dinner tonight was scrambled eggs and toast….sneeze!… and dry kibble for me… ugh!
Rockies!… We did take a break and watch the 7th – 9th innings… woooo!… ouch!
5:11 pm on May 22nd, 2010
None of you guys seem to like kibble very much. I love mine.
Salmon is the number one ingredient in it, but that would probably not be to everyone's liking.

Photos!… heh! No photos of me today!… snort!… None that turned out anyway…grunt!… Every one she took of me is out of focus!… cough!… Seems I’m an expert at ‘blur’ also… heh!heh!
SiberH!… You are lucky salmon doesn’t come from the Gulf Coast!… snort!

Even though I look like a dog and Blur like a dog, I don't really think of myself as a dog. More like a handsome lad with fur and four wheel drive. Mom usually gives us kibble for breakfast and cooks us a nice dinner. Teddy is 16 years old and going strong, so it seems to be working.
Cyber H – what brand of Salmon kibble do you eat? Maybe my mom can buy me some – but only for breakfast. I'm not giving up my dinners for nuthin!
5:29 pm on May 22nd, 2010
Very good point, Rio. I'm glad it doesn't come from the gulf coast either. I would have salmon kibble withdrawal.

Has anyone else noticed that all of us have "lost" our bling except for Rio? Foster must be really greedy – apparently $2,000 of smelly money just wasn't enough.

Stover – did you download your Bookworm for the internet? Which version are you using? My mom loves games!
5:33 pm on May 22nd, 2010
FROM the internet, that is. Not FOR the internet. Geez.

Wolfie, it is Purina One for Sensitive Systems. The vet suggested that mom feed me that, not because I have a sensitive system, but for my skin and coat. This is a dry climate so extra help is sometimes needed. It worked…my coat is glossy underneath all the dust from the dog park and blowing sand in the air. The dust brushes out. I tell mom that no bath is ever necessary.
I'm glad Teddy is doing well. Give her a kiss from me.

Wolfie! Thanks for getting my back!
Rio! What the hell? Ha! I meant that I KNOW that Chet and Bernie will find Astrid!
And I WILL do my best to tame Megan and to be nice to her. I'll be all cute like, I guess, and maybe give her a lick or two…
Yes, Megan and I are pulling yet ANOTHER all nighter. Last time, I won, but ended up going to sleep at 3 in the morning. She fell alseep at 12, though, but she snored, so…yeah…
Sweet dreams, guys! May you eat jerky in your dreams. Night! Tailwags and licks! Lexi.

Wha!?… What’s a Teddy?…. snort!… Have we ever seen this old guy?… heh!
6:15 pm on May 22nd, 2010
Snicker!… I wonder why lil Lexi has been taking her one year old wrath out on me lately?… snort!… I must have ruffled her fur or something along the way… Heh!…She seems all wiffle-waffle saying one thing and meaning 3 others… grunt!… But I can definitely feel her anger towards me for some reason… sigh….Dunno what I did to deserve it…mmmm!

Teddy is a Theodora Josefina, other wise known as my roomie. She is a lab mix, not too bright but very sweet. We get along but mom always gives her my treats. Well, they aren't really my treats, but I think they should be.
The story of Teddy began 14 years ago, when somebody dumped her off at the side of our road. Mom drove by for a day and a half, and Teddy never moved. She just sat and waited for someone to come get her. Mom stopped on her way to work and gave her a sandwich. Teddy walked across the road, grinned at mom, and it was true love. A few weeks later she had tons of puppies. I'm glad I wasn't there then!
Teddy still has her lovely smile, especially for cheese. She loves cheese. I will ask mom to post her photo, but she is all black and doesn't photograph well.

Rio – Just remember that Lexi is a doggie teenager. She is very sweet but at "that stage". Don't take it personally. Trust me. My boys are teenagers and so I am an expert. Although Lexi is much nicer than my boys were. Or are. My boy Chad is in trouble at school because he beat somebody up. That is why mom is so sad. Lexi is a sweetheart!

Ohhh!…So that’s a Teddy!… snort!… I like Teddy a lot and wish I could see what she looks like… sniff!… Some of us just have a hard time early in life it seems (like Cassie the Butt Sniffing Dog)…sob!… Not me, I’ve always been well cared for, by someone’s mediocre standards anyway… grunt!… I have never had to sit by the road and wait for a stranger to feed me ….sob!

Our thoughts and prayers are with your mom, Woofie. I'm sure she is sad. I know you will do your best to cheer her up.
Goodnight Everyone!
Hit the sack early, Rio. You have more supervising to do tomorrow. Dogs are good at that.

Wolfie! Lexi!… That little rascal is only 6 years old human-wise!… grunt!… She is going to be something in another year!….cripes!…She will be out of control, let me tell you!… snort!… Although, MagPie is a year old, right?… wheeze!… She doesn’t act naughty except towards chickens… heh!… Maybe it’s the whole growing up on a farm thing that’s different… cough!
6:54 pm on May 22nd, 2010
Hey SiberH!…Good night! See you tomorrow hopefully…snort!… We are off to bed here too. Someone can hardly keep her eyes open now… grunt!… I feel fine, I could stay Up All Night!… mmmm!
7:04 pm on May 22nd, 2010
Lexi may be six (or seven) years old chronologically, Rio, but trust me, she is a teenager. (Maybe preteen) These kids grow up fast these days!

Kats!… I miss AbbieTheKat… sniff!… I hope Alice hasn’t beat her up and thrown her into a ditch somewhere… snort!…. Well, I hope everyone sleeps tight and has wonderful sweet dreams!…Gruff!
7:49 pm on May 22nd, 2010
The kats staff is at Quilt Market this weekend, Rio. Don't fret.
Get a good night's sleep and dream of the Rockies winning the world series! Everything always looks better in the morning.
Sleep tight, all.
