Good morning all. Poor Lupo, we hope they don’t forget how much they love him.
Barb is making Cowboy Caviar this morning to take to the neighbor’s party later. They are having a bunch of people over for little 3 year old Michael’s birthday party, and invited Barb to attend. The dad, who is a construction guy, is an unbelievably good cook. He does amazing things with a grill and smoker. Yum!

Our heatwave is breaking down this weekend and the Monsoon flow is taking its place. It is early for the monsoon, but it is most welcome. This does not mean it will rain, but now there is a chance of it at least somewhere in the state.
The heatwave will continue in the rest of the West. Wolfie and Chet and Bernie, stay cool.

Bear, The monsoons really happen every year where I live, but how good they are varies from year to year. Where the monsoon rain will fall in the state is always, as one weatherman said, a crapshoot. The mountains, of course, have the best chance of monsoon rain. Even if it turns out we don’t get much rain where I live, the clouds coming up every afternoon help to keep the summer temp from going skyhigh.
The sky and the clouds are always so beautiful during the monsoon season.

The weather is crazy all over. Out west they are having record highs. Today, the end of June in norther Illinois, it is rainy and COLD! High today will be 68 degrees. Barb is going to wear a shirt with a jacket over it to the party next door. Climate change?
The Blessing of the Animals is the best book Barb has read in a while (maybe since last September). Robbie doesn’t count because Barb hasn’t read it yet. She bought it for Baye, so she didn’t read it before giving it to her. The main character in Blessings is so easy to relate to. She is an animal lover and vet. Barb should have become a vet.

Macy, We do have West Nile virus, but no mosquitoes are out here yet. We have a neighbor with one of those ponds. Mom has never been entirely comfortable with that pond, but there is nothing she can do about it.
This state also has a small number of plague cases every year.

Yes! Mom let me run through the sprinkler with my sister then she gave us ice cream. When we were at the place with all the water…we got ice cream as well. I’m not good with time, but Mom says the water place is a short trip, whatever that means, from home.
Mom also said the boat picture looked fun! I have never been on a boat thing before. I think the boat place is further than the water place…she was saying a couple of hours to get there…whatever that means.

We have West Nile and Lyme disease. We didn’t used to have Lyme disease, but lately we have imported those &%$# deer ticks from Minnesota so we have it now. Drat.
I received two packages today. My lovely vintage apron with the bird on it and my perfectly purple and orange note book cover. Yum! Thanks guys.
It is 72 with a breeze today. Perfect for blowing those mosquitoes over to Minnesota. Does anyone else watch the Tour de France? The end of this first day of racing was farcical. I will have to watch tonight’s recap to find out what all went on.

Staff: I used to watch the Tour de France and have also read books from Greg LeMond and Lance Armstrong. Even before the spectacular downfall of Armstrong, the race was taking quite the hit with all the drug and corruption accusations.

At long last – it has stopped raining.
BSD – yes, this amount of rain is unprecedented for this area. Every single weather report, every single day has made mention of the fact that at no time in recorded weather history has there been this much rain in June. And the 10 day forecast is for rain every single day. With thunderstorms. sigh
We need to get a certain spray painting job done, and the paint specifically says that it is not to be used in high (over 60%) humidity situations. We have had 70 -80 % humidity for more than a week – with no drying trend in site.
Mama says she would NOT make a good alligator. She is far more of a desert tortoise. Hot, but dry.

Hi, guys! We have started getting some of our boutique purchases, too. The kat neckalace from the Royals came (Amalia, the picture did not do it justice. It is so cute!!) We got a picture from Rebecca of the the sleeping sled dogs (1 is Junior with the eyebrows) and it is great. Rebecca, the quality you were worried about is fine…picture is great! Mom just checked the mail and the Snowhook journal from Staff and the Turtleman just came and she loves it. Oh, yeah…and she got the “spoiled rotten dog lives here” plaque. What’s up with that?? Mom says it is part of a housewarming gift for a young couple with a new puppy. C.Hobbit’s things have not arrived yet and the last minute purchase of Staff’s quilt hasn’t arrived yet either. Mom felt bad that we didn’t have anything to donate, so she let us buy, buy, buy!!
Very hot here too. Over 100 the last couple of days. Thing is, here EVERYBODY has A/C so they stay inside the house or inside the air conditioned car. Dad even put a window unit in his shop!
Back to chores.

It is 110*. Mom and dad were going to town to watch a movie, but decided to stay home. They have company coming on Tuesday so they are supposed to be cleaning house, but there doesn’t seem to be much action. Mom did clean out the freezer and gave us some frozen leftover meat. Delish.

Wolfie, The place that I got them from is called Nutrigold. Not Nutragold (comma or hyphen?) which I discovered was a dog and cat supplement web site.
I’m allergic to fish, so I got their Omega 3-6-7-9 that is made from berries.

Project!…My friend made good headway on a special project this afternoon while I slept the day away…heh!…It is a piece she started years ago and realized she did not have the skill to finish the way she wanted…sniff!…So after a few years of work on a variety of other projects she felt confident enough to tackle this one again…chuffle!…And by golly it is taking form. The parts she was most afraid of are finished and looking good…wheeze!…Tomorrow there is even more to do. Doubtful she will finish it this weekend, but there is hope that one day it will finally be finished!…heh!

Team: Our race season officially began today when the Giant signed up for the Iditarod! Thanks to all youse, our path to the starting line has been made smoother, and our journey to the finish line is much less lonely. We here are honored to be called ‘your team.’
Now that the entrance fee has been paid, I’m going to submit a Purchase Order for a new whistle. I intend to keep the new whistle out of Lefty’s reach this go around.
