Another day at Rescue Ink yesterday. In just a few hours, we hit the highs and the lows. Somebody drove down from Virginia to adopt Gentle Ben, a 100+ pound dog – I think he is a malamute. Later, Joe Panz came in to deliver an obviously dying cat. They got him to a vet so he could die surrounded by people who loved him. A new kitty arrived – not yet weaned. The lovable pit in front of the facility had been adopted, but the deal fell through. If it weren’t for the Ballard one dog at a time rule, I’d take her home myself.

One dog rule? Whats that? We don’t like the sound of it.
Sasha has now had 2 solid nights of sleep, meaning so did the rest of us. Woo Hoo! But Mom called us from her car to say there are accidents and detours and her dark, rainy drive took forever, so she wants to be back home in bed now.
We hope all the quilt inhabitants areon the road to recovery today.

Dawson just emailed me that she does not have internet access while she is visiting her MIL in Vancouver BC. However there is a coffee roaster 1/2 block away and they have the use of kayak’s. She is very happy.

Rebecca got a photo of me up on the blog using the same method Stover did. It was the photo that took the Iditarod journey with AJ. My crazy mom had taken that photo with a disposable camera.

Not even sure how that rule came into play. Our dogs tend to live a long time, so we are only on #3, even though I’m 66. Yuji would probably be happy to have a brother, but now, at least, he has me around all day.

Terry: My guess is the rule came into play just as the rule that I’m not allowed to go to the pound or adoption day unaccompied—happened when I was looking and without my approval.
Wose: I have the feeling you might increase the number of pictures you appear in come March. It’s just a guess, but my money is on it.

Barb is back from the visit with the grands, but now she is putting a large dog crate together to put in the back of her car. Seems that tomorrow she is driving out to Lena (100 miles each way) to bring back 26 frozen chickens that Kim raised humanely and naturally for us, and 5 live hens which are going to Josh’s place. Between racoons, the kids, and the collective lack of knowledge we are a bit concerned about the longevity of said hens, but what can we do!
Will try to post a picture of their new domicil.

Just got a phone call from The Royals’ Mum. She is feeling a bit better but was concerned that the tears from Newf Central were about Patsy.

Wose, Josh put the picture on Facebook and several of his friends actually asked if it was a coop or a playhouse for the kids. I don’t think it is legal to cage your children up, is it? Although sometimes it woud be nice!

B&M, that coop is very nice.
We found that med for Sasha for $70 a month. Whew! Much better. Her blood test results showed everything is in fairly good shape, considering her age. Her calcium level is high, which may be indicative of a tumor. She has much nerve damage in her hind quarters, so we will try treating that with an anti-inflammatory med. The senility is the worst and Mom is so afraid when she leaves her. Gee, guess she doesn’t trust us to take care of her and keep her out of trouble. We are hoping that medicine can help.
Mom started feeling sick…overheated and shaking, which happens when she starts getting sick. She just took one of those Airborne’s youse were recommending.

Airborn!…My friend says she took an Airborn at the busy-place because she has “that” feeling…sniffle!…She wished she would have brought the package home so she could take another one tonight…grunt!…Sometimes it takes two…wheeze!

Plumber!…Just like the other day those two had to have a plumber come over and fix something…grunt!…They put up the gates so Beau and I would not go downstairs and bother the guy while he was working…snort!…Well, Beau plowed down the gate and ran downstairs and started jumping on and pawing the plumber. He acted like the guy was his long lost friend he hadn’t seen in years…wheeze!…It was all very embarrassing for everyone, even the plumber…huffle!

Mollys Mom called after her busy day to see the eye doctor. 120 mile round trip and 3 hours in his office. He said she’s doing great. Not so great is this painful lump in her calf. It happened during all this Oktoberfest stuff. Mommy told her it might be a blood clot and to call the doctor tomorrow.

Just thought y’all might like to know that mom was rewarded for going to her temporary job even though she didnt feel like it by being offered the job permanently. The same type job she had before with the schools, but a different school, with half as many kids and twice the amount of common sense in the director.
I am getting her all tucked in so I can go sleep on the couch where no one is hacking and coughing Niters! Better days for all.
