Bella, we have a cool little machine that hooks up to the van so we can stand in the cold or rain (why is that) to pump up tires that have decided to go soft.
Soon we will have a Element with better tires. The van is being donated.
So . . . together in the same room and no fight broke out! But I did notice that Peter shut Spencer down at the end.

Siber, we agree that breed rescues do not get purebred puppies. There was a shelter in New York State that had a 4-month old that Mom wanted, but of course so did everyone else. She was gone lickety-split.

Rebecca, Thoughts and prayers going out for your mom. My mom, who speaks from experience, says that Bev will feel much better when the gall bladder is gone. My dad’s sister had hers out when she was only 21. She says the same thing…good riddance.
We love Boris’s name.

Bear, You will love the music, and the scenery, and the costuming, and the story, and the acting….well I guess the whole enchalada!
Barb saw Giada (sp?) on the Today show, and her recipe for sauce was voted the #1 favorite. She sauted onion,carrot and celery till soft and then added canned tomatoes – diced, crushed or
sauce, then added some fresh chopped basil at the end. That is it – she used that for her base sauce for eveything Italian. No garlic, no oregeno! Froze it in ice cube trays and popped them out for easy meals.
Long story short – we are going out to pick some basil leaves today, before cold weather comes. Will try it tonight and will let you know.
We are sending good healing thoughts Bev’s way too. Hope all went well.

Or here is another thought, Barb’s grands love dream catchers. Barb received some in the mail – just little commercially made ones – from a Native American charity donation she did. The kids have them hanging in their rooms and love them.
We think several small things, rather than one grandious, expensive one, would attract more people, plus it would give more of us chances to have some of your works.

Okay, after swearing up a storm trying to put the pool cover on before the 2 inches of rain we’re going to get, my body quit so I text Mechanical Engineer Nephew writing “911”. He just left after making sure the cover would stay on for the next two days AND told me I was doing it correctly. The only problem? Instead of 210 feet of wire, they only sent 21 feet of wire. Those pesky decimal points will get you every time! Snigglefritz and Carpola!
Getting the right amount of wire and then he’ll do it for us this weekend. When he comes to help us, he always says, “I’m here to help” and stands just like superman!

Thank you for all your well wishes for my Bev. Mabella—I love it! I received a text from Coach; she is in recovery and the doctor said it went well.
Rose: I, um, have a confession to make. I worked from home yesterday, but still had to go to the feed store so Rio Junior and others don’t go hungry. I was in a hurry to get chores done when I arrived home. Night had long since fallen as were the temps. I , well, I got distracted and I may have left the keys in the lock. I found them this morning still in the door when I left for work.
T&G: You make me laugh, but your mama shouldn’t stress. I’m still twirling at the thought of a Golinka creation making its way to the MMCS.
I recieved an exciting email today, at least I think it’s exciting. It was from the casting director. She said that AJ and the Best Damn Handling Wife have been chosen to show in the demo/sizzle reel for the dogumentary. I have no idea what a demo reel is, but she wouldn’t have started the email with congratulations if it were bad. Would she?

Funny story – Barb was just talking to Lily who is potting a couple of her garden plants to bring indoors. After Barb stopped laughing she rephrased her question.

Rose & Bella: Leaving keys in the lock. Someone here has done the same thing. Such things usually occur when hands are full and one is rushing into the house. One time Nana tossed her keys on the couch and they fell down between the cushions. Needless to say it was quite some time before they were found again.

Pitcher!… I love Benoit. He is the Pitcher for the Tigers. SiberH knows who I mean…heh!…He gets that evil little smile on his face right before he strikes them out….snort!…He’s the guy who had that great big band aide on his face when he came up to pitch to the Yankees ….chorkel!…They made a big deal about it and made him take his band aide off. I asked the casting director to explain a demo/sizzle reel. She was nice enough to respond and if she was laughing at my ignorance, she kept it to herself. It is a video that will be shown to networks about the idea of doing the dogumentary. She said there is still a long ways to go before prodcution, but this is a big step. Act—that is one talent lost on AJ and I.
Barb: The Little Women has two males in it. I’m in charge of naming and usually do so by themes. I was at a loss. One evening I was looking over the pups as they slept and wondered out loud, “What am I going to do with all these little women?”. Our Outlaw litter is all males. Belle Starr wass born a week before the Outlaws yet raised with them. I figured you can’t have a band of outlaws without a Belle Starr.

Needles!…My friend says she got a tetanus shot today and her arm has been killing her all day long…snort!…Then they drew a bunch of blood from the other arm …wheeze!… I would have bit someone if that happened to me…huffle! …She says she can hardly move her right arm without it hurting like crazy…wuffle! …I say stay away from Doctors and Needles….grunt!

Rebecca: Just a word of caution. When Mom was in college, her roommate came home from class one day traumatized because she had just seen a movie of a woman giving birth. She threw herself down on her bed and was telling Mom and their other roommate about how horrible it was. Later, she couldn’t find her keys. All three of the roommates left the next day on a trip, and came back a few days later to find their room had been burglarized while they were gone! The theory was that the roommate left her keys in the door, and someone walking down the hall had grabbed them and took advantage of everyone being gone that weekend to break in. The burglar took money, jewelry and stamps! So DON’T LEAVE YOUR KEYS IN THE DOOR!!!

Doctor!… Her doctor was ecstatic that she kept the appointment (that they made for her) and actually came in…heh!… Yes, her doc was very impressed and happy about how the allergies have all but gone away and the blood pressure is great, the swelling is gone, and all the other tests seem to be looking good…snort!….So to reward her the doc set her up for even more traumatizing and invasive tests…grunt!…She will never keep the appointments though, Just you watch…heh!

Hey, Rio! Mom found a book today that she might use for her storytime next week. It’s called Chick ‘n’ Pug. It’s about a chick who reads a book about the adventures of Wonder Pug. Then he finds a pug and sets out to have adventures with him. Only all the pug wants to do is sleep! Sounds true to life, huh?

We like tuna salad sandwiches, and we LOVE tuna steak, especially on the grill.
But tuna cassarole is just wrong. We knew someone who always made it for “company dinner” and it was covered with crushed potato chips….and grease…..bleccccchhhhh! And had chopped green olives in it….double blecccchhhh.
Hey guess what – we just got an email from the CL – we are closed tomorrow since she HAS TO GET THE FANS MOVED AWAY FROM THE LIGHTS – by order of the building inspector.

Well, Rio, last week’s game wasn’t so hot. In fact, our team was pretty darn cold! Mom and Dad have gone twice now to see the games at a party with the Iowa Club — and they’ve lost both games. They’re afraid the club won’t let them come back again! The Hawkeyes are 3-2 now. Mom and Dad really want to go see their team play in a bowl game, so they have to win a bunch more games before that can happen. The next game isn’t on our TV, so if Mom and Dad want to see it they have to go back to the Iowa Club, because they meet in a sports restaurant that gets all the channels.
Oh, and my boy’s team is a little stirred up, too. They just kicked their quarterback off the team — again — but this time for good. And their coach started ranting and raving about one of the sportswriters from the local newspaper. My girl — who goes to the rival college — is enjoying all of this a lot!!!

Oh, and by the way, Mom remembered to call the animal shelter today. They said nobody has asked about That Boy, but they took the information about him in case anyone comes later. Hey, maybe if he ends up staying, we should name him Dabo. The football coach at my girl’s college is called Dabo because when he was a baby his brother called him “That Boy,” only he was a little kid and it came out “Dabo,” and the name stuck!

KirbyT: In all seriousness, by the way your story started it was a cautionary tale about watching birthing videos—sound advice for anyone, but then I realized the moral of the story—lock the doors, and for heavensakes take the key out of the lock.
Mabelle is home from the hospital and resting. She is a wisp of a woman. AJ picked her up one time and commented that he’s lifted bags of dog food heavier than her. The docs wouldn’t let her go home until her heart rate rose to a minimal level—better safe than sorry.

Rebecca: I’m not saying that yet. Mom is thinking about taking his photo around to the v-e-t offices on Friday, since that’s her day off this week. She honestly won’t mind too much if they end up adopting That Boy, but the fact that he has a collar on makes her think that there might be someone out there who’s looking for him.
