I try to ride on laps but my mean family makes me ride in my special car seat. It’s called a Lookout seat and it’s soft and cushy and i can see out, but I would prefer a lap. I’m a lap dog, right?

YSAS had to get OTAS moving this morning. As he was getting the brother coffee, he called me, and said, “Do you know how hard it is to get OTAS moving in the morning?”
I replied, “YES!” snicker
He finally lied and told his brother they had to get to FOTAS’s mom’s house early to put a wedding present together to be used for the yard work today.
Campground is booked. Lakeside camping spot. Surf fishing area picked out. Bait shop is located. The stripers are running!

One more link before I go do some things.
On our radio station the morning show has a time were the host talks to an editor of one of the region’s newspapers. Snort. Sorry this is sooooo weird.
They were talking about bills that were coming up in a state near mine. One of them is about banning the practice of implanting Neuticles in dogs. The host had no idea what they were (neither did I). When the editor explain and then said that the bill had been withdrawn. The host said “WHAT?” And I said “WHAT?” Couldn’t believe this.
This is on their web site. Neuticles allows your pet to retain his natural look, self esteem and aids in the trauma associated with altering.
Emphasis mine. Now I’m sorry. There is no self-esteem issues in dogs if you love them. This is nuts! (so to speak)

we love going in the car but they make us sit in the back of the car or on the floor of the show van. We love being with them but it stinks to have short legs and no way to get to a window in the van.
Our housemate Callie goes with our Gramp in his Trailblazer. He puts the back seat down so the whole back is a big flat platform. Callie sits all the way in the back, exactly in the middle and looks straight ahead. Our Gramp calls it her “Driving Miss Daisy” pose.
It does scare us to see people driving with a little dog between them and the steering wheel-especially when the little dog is hanging out the window. And really scares us when the driver is additionally using a cellphone!

Very funny Melanie. We totally agree with you. Dogs live in the now, they doen’t worry about lost body parts. I have to laugh when people attribute human characteristics to dogs. We have a friend who says things like her dog doesn’t like to have her picture taken because she is shy. She describes another dog park friend’s dog as “stuck up”. He is standoffish, so she says he thinks he is better than the other dogs. Please!
Glad those stripers are running. We like that better than those other things some guys have at bachelor parties. We think those are a profoundly bad idea.

I’m definitely a back seat, head out the window kind of guy. It just doesn’t get any better than that. And best part it means I wasn’t left at home.
Beautiful day here in Chevy Chase. Our peonies are just starting to break out, and in a couple of days our back yard will be awash in a sea of peonies. My other grandpa (who I never knew) gave my mom and dad a dozen peony plants after they moved into this house, and they are just beautiful when in blooml.
Speaking of grandpas, my other grandpa who lives with us just had his 93rd birthday on Thursday. They went to Ruth Chris’s to celebrate. I didn’t get to go, but a very yummy doggy bag made it ways back home to me, me, me (as my friend Rio would say).
Near the trails where we go walkies in the morning, they are set up for the Avon breast cancer walk which is today and tomorrow in the DC area. Mom did the walk with a friend a few years back; I was her walking coach and accompanied her on all of her training walks, but they wouldn’t let me do the Avon itself. It is 26 miles (over two days), which would have been quite a lot of me, even in my youth, although some of the training walks we did were 8-10 miles.
Hope everybody under the quilt (Rose, Dan, Shiek, and various relatives) are all doing well.

Barb, We have a lady just like the one you are describing that comes to the dog park. She thinks her dog is embarrassed if it has a bit of poop on its butt. She has a hard time letting this dog be a dog.

Remember Mr. Greedy Guts? Well, here’s a story about him.
He lives with a Corgi and they visit the dog park everyday. There was a new dog there yesterday, a young female who decided that since the Corgi was smaller than she was she could be aggressive.
The Corgi did not approve. Barking ensued. Mr. GG leaped to the rescue! He body checked the larger dog and kept his body between the aggressive dog and his friend.
The owner of the aggressor grabbed his dog and said, “Wow, did you see that he’s protecting her and body blocked but didn’t bite! He’s a good dog.

Steve, I am in the middle of the mitten in Lansing. Mom lived in Grand Rapids since 1990 and moved to Lansing last July when she got a job working for the state. I have been with my mom for three years. She found me at the West Olive Humane Society and took me home to be with her forever and ever and ever. You can see an icky photo of me at the humane society and after I came home with her and after my first wonderfluff on mom’s facebookie. In fact, I think mom should give me my own facebookie so that it can be all about me, me, me!

Staff has been taking photo’s for the Musher’s Mercantile. Things are getting a little busy here so she is trying to get them done NOW! She will be leaving to go to Minneapolis on Monday and once there she and her sister will go to visit Brother Chris and his wife Deb in Chicago. Just an overnight trip to say goodbye. Then the day after she comes home she must go to Quilt Market in Kansas City.
She is so busy that she had to enlist me and AbbietheKitty to come up with some of the gifts. I hope that works out for her. snicker.

Patsy and I went moon hunting! We went one town over and went up their highest hill. It was beautiful. A large furry friend by my side, the sun setting on one side, and the moon rising on the other. Patsy had cheese to celebrate.
There was cloud cover at first but I did get some shots. The moon still hasn’t risen here in our valley. I’ll have to get some shots later. Cloudy right now.

Back from a yummy Cinco de Mayo lunch. The place was super crowded. It’s not really a Mexican holiday, but Americans love to celebrate it. Lots of food and grog had by all.
Melanie: The old movie Earthquake was filmed at the Ahmanson Center in L.A. where Nana worked back in the day. She and her friends tried to get autographs, but it was difficult to get anywhere near the famous actors on the set.

Damit missed the Derby. Probably just as well. The winner was not the horse I would have bet on.

Rio, light colored dogs have the dye in dog food come out the tear ducts. My kibble is supposed to be dye-free. Now Mom is trying a product called Angel Eyes and it’s helping. Mom doesn’t see all the stuff Daddy and my boy feed me all day. I like what they feed me, not that stupid kibble, and if it comes out my tear ducts in neon purple I don’t care.

Foul!…The ball in Question landed right where a bunch of guys from the Busy Place sit every Tuesday night during home games…heh!…Big to-do over the homerun and if it is foul or not….grunt!…Because the Braves hit it, I say it is FOUL!…sneeze!

Injury!…geeze, someone just got hurt again down low in the seats…sniff!…You have to pay attention when you are at the game for those foul balls…sniff!…My friend always does, because they come really close to her..grunt!…You’d think she’d have caught one by now…sneeze!…At least they haven’t had to wheel her out of the field because she wasn’t paying attention…wuffle!…Well someone tonight got hit and they have stopped the game waiting to take the injured person out…sniff!…Its very sad and it should never happen, but some people do not realize the danger of being at the game….snort!

Well I see it is pouring rain at Denver and the game has been delayed. From the way it is raining it might be a loo-ong delay.
There are thunderstorms east of us and so far no moon has come up out of the clouds. Tomorrow we have to do a little more cleaning before A Catty Librarian and Elliot arrive and find all our dust bunnies.

GAH!…I’m talking to myself…grunt!….But I am not ready to go to bed yet. So I guess I will continue to talk to myself…wuffle!…I remember having to do this a long time ago when hardly anyone posted on Chet’s blog…grunt!…Yes it is true, he didn’t have many followers that first year. I remember having a count of 25 or 30 was a good day..snort!…But his blog-base has grown in the last two plus years now…sniff!…Lots of interesting characters have joined. Not to mention our own Iditarod Team…heh!…What a great thing that has turned out to be…wow!…Which brings me back to where are our resident Giants tonight?…snuffle!

Cuddyer!…During the rain delay we have been watching a special on how Cuddyer came to be with the Rockies…heh!heh!…The Twins didn’t want him anymore and the ones here at the Rockies organization said they LOVED him and wanted him and made it very easy for him and his family to be here….HEHEHEHEHEHEH!

Rio: I snorted and chuckled—snorckled—when I read your post wondering about my whereabouts! AJ surprised me by arriving home yesterday evening, way ahead of schedule—I didn’t expect him until two or three this morning. A meeting that was scheduled for last night at a stop along the way home was cancelled. It was a good surprise, except he is sick. I knew he was feeling awful when he took some cold medicine—he rarely takes more than aspirin for anything. He rested for much of the day which he needed and then we went into town to run errands. I started not feeling tip top on our way home so he said he would do dog chores tonight. He’s out in the kennel right now. We are going to put on our dog fur covered fleece, sip some cider and watch a video.
