BTW: Did anyone see the footage of the brown bear in Pasadena, CA yesterday? Mmm, wonder if Chet or OFA had a paw in this as they were recently in Pasadena. Something to ponder.

What kind of “ball” is that in the picture? It looks as though it’s made of concrete.

Bee – apparently, you can rent a bulldozer in St Louis. At least that’s what last night’s score implies.

Good morning Nana! Hope today is even better!

    Good Morning to All!

Gracie is singing to me. I had been petting her and (oh, horrors) got up to go to the computer. She does not approve.

Up to 37 degrees now. We are supposed to get up to 39!

    NANA!

    Time to pet Gracie again.

Mom is going crazy. Last night she and dad watched the video of the rescue of the pit bull that I think Macy posted. Mom wants to show it to the girls at work but now she can not find it. HELP someone!

Bee – we are counting the pennies in our treat jar.

By the way, Wikipedia is doing one of their occasional fund drives. If you use Wikipedia on a regular basis, check for coins in the couch cushions or the washing machine, and see if you can fork over a couple bucks to them. (They take paypal, and send a very nice thank you letter for any contribution)

Barb has some duck jerky that she is afraid to give to me. It is from Trader Joes and the package is labeled a product of USA, but now she is paranoid about giving me any jerky. What do you think, should she throw it out?

Barb, Mom would throw the jerky out. I am not sure about this, but I think an item can be partially made in China and finished in the USA. I believe this has happened with toxic dog food.

    1:30 pm on October 25th, 2013

Teddy here, reporting on my big, big, big day yesterday. It was my first ever quilting event ever, and I understand that I have big paws to fill here. Mom had about a dozen quilt ladies here working on “Cuddle Quilts” which are quilts for kids who are taken out of abusive family situations. It was hard work but I definitely got those quilt ladies into shape by the end of the day. I kept laying on the fabric to test it all by myself, which I know was a very big help. Unfortunately, lunch time was a bit of a disappointment, because I got nary a bite, not even any of the chocolate cheesecake brownies my mom made. Boy, can those ladies pack it in at lunchtime.

  32. Herd of Hounds
    1:33 pm on October 25th, 2013

Dawson, Thanks for the torch update. Melanie:Stupidman, heh, heh, heh. Love hens and chicks and NO OH , NOT poultry, succulent plants that clump and reproduce. Mom said she would never grow geraniums since they are weed-like in So Cal. Guess what she moved inside to an east window. Yep, a red geranium. 2 leggers make no sense.

I have been productive today. Whew. Two bookcases moved, worked on the growing window, and helped move the other side of my Guys’ family’s dining room table onto a truck.

I just got a call from Tom (Honeybear) saying, “Do you know that table is solid black walnut?” Well, I knew it was something good, and I knew when the family had refinished it, they had put a cherry varnish on it.

Tom is going to take it down to the real wood and finish it correctly. Yippee!

Wow, mom finally got home and let us out out out. We are not used to being shut up all day, especially a beautiful day like today. She worked at the church resale shop until 2. Why on earth do people think that a nice shop like that would want their filthy, mildewed stuff that has been in the garage since the stone age. It takes for-ever to go through, especially when their is really nice stuff mixed in. Today was the largest donation day in the 8 year history of the place and most of it went through mom’s paws. She is now recuperating so she can go off in search of seafood with pops later to celebrate his birthday. I am going to help her relax now.

Macy: It shocks me too what some people choose to donate to charity for others to use–stained, torn items. I once asked Goodwill what they did with those clothes. They are shipped overseas to third world countries. Sad. One time I was helping to gift wrap items donated from “angel trees” often located in malls around the holidays. Children would be requesting toys or electronics and the gifters would be giving them sweaters. Or if they were requesting a pair of shoes with the shoe size noted, the donated (used) shoes would be the wrong size. Why bother choosing to be an “angel” if you aren’t going to meet the request? Food banks are flooded with cans of tuna around the holidays…who wants tuna for a holiday dinner? Weird.
