Good morning, everyone! Riley is a really good looking member of the nation within š Let’s see, another stude, ho-hum. No wait, maybe more dogless 2 leggers will learn something.
Don’t turnip your nose to Thursday!

Good morning! Me? Jealous? No way. It is just that I must be #1. That’s all.
ML, for the nutty zucchini that we posted a link for, we do not take off the outer skin. For the noodles, we did peel the skin first, and didn’t use that.
Can you please make me a new collar at camp? It must be green, but I am hoping for more bling than my current collar has. Thank you.
8:46 am on July 24th, 2014
I like Riley’s tongue. What a guy.
9:01 am on July 24th, 2014
Good Thursday Morning All. (I borrowed some capital letters from BSD) I am off to camp. Hopefully all will go well with the four-legged members of the household, who are not used to being left alone all day. Catch you on the other side.
9:08 am on July 24th, 2014
ML, Thinking on you! Have you left Macy in charge?
9:12 am on July 24th, 2014
Good morning all.
ML–Enjoy camp and return safely.
HOH–Your Mom’s pun disease seems to be returning…
Where is this Riley? Is he on FB or what?
News about the Noble Conan later today.

Oops–ignore that last, please–I found Mr. Riley.
HOH–Name three important vegetables? Lettuce, turnip and pea. (Considered risque and riotously funny by my late husband during his Depression-era childhood)…

DianeC, when our mom taught middle school Spanish and was teaching to conjugate verbs she always did 3rd person singular (he/she/it) ass ALMOST one word. Shocking to the 13-14 group. Needless to say, they remembered it š

Of course, the biscuit box scene in TOV involved jealousy.

HOH! Bacon!!! Momma told me that if I am a good girl, and if the weather behaves, I may be going to an event at Liberty Taproom tonight, that features a “flight” and BACON pairing!!!
I am always a good girl. Check.
I have no idea how to make the weather behave, but I bet Mama Meash does. Check.
Flight? That sounds sort of scary.
10:03 am on July 24th, 2014
Hi, Kat, Weatherkat here. How to make the weather behave? It is a mystery. Paws crossed for you tonight.
10:08 am on July 24th, 2014
Greetings all. We have counted the mutant squashes on the vine, from the tiny bulbs on the base of the female blossoms (thanks Barb) to the ones that are recognizable squash.
We have more than 20.
Oh my dawg.
Anyone out there like Hubbard squash?
10:26 am on July 24th, 2014
Zoe and the dogs like it (squash)
Yesterday was one of those days. The washing machine broke badly. I forgot a doctorās appointment and didnāt make it to Yoga which I probably needed. It was
very hot and humid.
Today has started off better as far as weather is concerned and Martha is doing my laundry until I can get to the store next week. I knew I needed a new machine because mine leaked a lot, but kept putting it off.
I got all the Dan and Melanie memorabilia together and placed which was wonderful and sad. Then I tried taking pictures. That is not something I do well. Rob has agreed to take pictures and put them on the blog and Facebook when he gets here tomorrow.
Courtney (McKeyā s fiancee ) is bringing her parents. I will be happy to meet them. They sound great.
omorrow.

I am glad we are doing this, but I sure do miss Dan and Melanie and all the dogs. Mac and Mattie keep me company all the time. Mac has fallen in love with Hank, who is lead man on the basement project. Good for him to have a man around!

Good morning, Zoƫ. We cannot wait to see the photos!
Sending hugs from us here to youse there.
10:51 am on July 24th, 2014
Morning, Zoe. Don’t worry about a mistake with days. Mom’s g-son thought it was Tuesday for 4 days in a row (and he’s only 14).
We are anxiously awaiting Saturday’s shindig (virtually).
11:00 am on July 24th, 2014
BSD up top!
FOC! I love Cici’s spots and Riley’s tongue. Both very good looking dogs.
Kat: I also wonder about the “flight”.
Today is clean-house-before-going-on-a-trip day.
11:16 am on July 24th, 2014
Zoe!…She has put a strange twist into the Double Dawson technique….heh!heh!
11:19 am on July 24th, 2014
Zoe: Thank to Mac and Mattie for keeping close to you as the day for the celebration draws near. You need each other. You’ve done well to get all the memorabilia collected. Your family and friends all around you will be a comfort as we celebrate the blessings that Dan and Melanie added to our lives.

Rio: That’s the Montague creativity coming out in a Double Dawson!

Dawson! We’ll miss you whilest you’re away. sob.
11:58 am on July 24th, 2014
Dear Plunderers – as Zoe and Martha already know, the Storyteller and I will not be able to be at the gathering this weekend. Our schedule requires us to be on the road, but we will be there in spirit and prayer and memories.
We hope you will all have a moment to blur in and share your favorite memory, be it a moment of laughter, or a thought provoking time or whatever.
And don’t forget to bring a virtual, gluten free dish to share.
12:15 pm on July 24th, 2014
OMK! My avatar slipped away and I hadn’t even noticed. Momma sent me a text telling me to find it. I hope this doesn’t affect my LTR evening.
Zoe, Momma and I will be there on Saturday, albeit virtually. We will be picturing your wonderful home that we had so much fun in. We loved meeting you and Dan. Sniff. It is one of my very best memories (especially the t-shirt you wore to meet Momma).
1:08 pm on July 24th, 2014
we will be there.

1:20 pm on July 24th, 2014
We’ll be with you from Wisconsin (Linda, Billy, et al.)
I have the paw medallion that Melanie sent with “Plunder On” engraved on it. It hangs from a stained glass panel in my front window and is next to whichever seasonal ornament hanging there at the time. Every time I look at that (many times each day), I think of Melanie.
1:38 pm on July 24th, 2014
Billy’s Buddy, I know that medallion! It is on my travel collar, which I will be wearing on Saturday evening at Pints for Pups. They tell me that I inherited it from a “perfect guy” named Dima.
Lots of sniffing around here now.

This is something new…jealousy in dogs. Dog shrinks have been saying for years that dogs do not experience jealousy. We have sure seen what looks like jealousy in other dogs. I don’t know. I am not the jealous type.
Zoe, We will be there on Sat for at least part of the day. We wouldn’t miss it for anything and we are looking forward to pictures.
1:50 pm on July 24th, 2014
The Snowhook button is displayed in our kitchen bringing memories of Melanie every day.
HOH: We, too, are working on a contemplation of memories for the celebration on Saturday.

(very sorry about the abrupt news flash. it was a shock to hear of another air disaster. the plane was believed to have been flying through violent storms at the time it lost contact with air control)
2:57 pm on July 24th, 2014
Planes!…There sure are a lot of planes plummetting to earth lately…sniff!…This is not good for my friend who would go somewhere, anywhere, if she was not so afraid of falling out of the sky from 30,000 paws…gah!
3:03 pm on July 24th, 2014
Rio, probably still more reliable than Amtrack (ask Plunderers in March) or safer than Greyhound…cleaner restrooms for sure. And Dog knows hitch hiking is out of the question.

WoooooHooooo!!!! The UPS guy just dropped off a box for Mama. It had the most wonderful, old, imprinted book that is one of Mama’s favorite authors and stories. She will cherish that book and keep it always.
But you know what? There were extra surprises in the box! There were three more duMarier books, and a whole pack of pretty parrot feathers.
Mama says today is her lucky day. She also says that she is sending lots of hugs to someone in Tennessee( and to a Peck of na

HOH: I guess the parrots don’t need as many feathers in the hot summer.
Kats can get jealous too.

Me too!!! I just received a package of BEAUTIFUL objects from Rio and Beau’s address. Rio and Beau, please tell your friend thank you. I love them.

POP: Youse gave up your treasured tail feathers for a very good cause.

Speaking of out of control squash plants, we discovered a great squash last fall in Vermont, called Black Futsu Squash. Absolutely delish, tasting like roasted hazelnuts. So we decided to take a gambol and plant some this year. At first we were concerned that they would not grow at all, but that is no longer an issue, as they have completely overtaken our garden, including enveloping a rose bush and one of our tomato plants, not to mention overgrowing the fence around the garden and starting to encroach on the rest of the back yard. The darn thing must be 30 feet long and has reached a height of 6 feet or more as it climbs over the garden fence. If you all here anything about the squash that ate Chevy Chase, you will know how the story began. (P.S. The blue object along the fence is Teddy’s wading pool.)

OMD! sIBER-h, iT’S TRUE, IT’S TRU! sQUASH ARE TAKING OVER THE wORLD.
4:01 pm on July 24th, 2014
Dogs do get jealous! Just watch Mattie! She is small enough (Newf small) to get by or under all the pack and find out who is do the petting and get her head up there and takes over! Of course it is easier with only one dog to compete with, but she is good!
4:05 pm on July 24th, 2014
The young upstart has been put back in her place!
Teddy – if your mutant squash meets our mutant squash, it will be the end of the world as we know it.
4:11 pm on July 24th, 2014
Teddy, I will start writing the movie script immediately.
Save Teddy’s wading pool!
Bear, You’ll be okay. You are on an island.

5:48 pm on July 24th, 2014
I have a small cross shoulder bag that Staff made for me and on the strap are my Pawprint stamped tag with Plunder On, Chet the Dog, and WWBD printed on the back, the 2 beloved Huskies from O’Howlers. a tiny bell from one of Mom’s slippers and a button with peace signs on it. This goes on all my travels. I may jingle but I’ve not been lost.
5:58 pm on July 24th, 2014
We couldn’t resist looking up the Black Futsu – they sound delicious, but my gosh are they ever ugly. It is only when they look like they are covered with mildew are they ready to harvest and store.
Not sure we could get past that point.
6:11 pm on July 24th, 2014
With y’all on that š š :/
6:17 pm on July 24th, 2014
Aroooo!!! Christmas in July here on the farm!!!! We got lotsa packages today!!! Awesome!
Hobbit, the scarf is gorgeous.
We also got a chickie creamer to display right next to our chickie salt and pepper shakers. How cool is that?!
And, we got Jeff Schultz’s book, with his autograph and a message we still can’t read. Heh! Pop is getting that cool t-shirt because it is too large for Mom.
6:19 pm on July 24th, 2014
GOMs! Of course! (the villainous otter-cork strikes again)
6:43 pm on July 24th, 2014
I got a box delivered today too. It had a beautiful glass paperweight and lovely lovely parrot’s feathers. I love those feathers! Right now I’m picturing those birdies running around naked.
6:48 pm on July 24th, 2014
WE are NOT nekid but gave those feathers willingly in a spring molt. But, nekkid sounds like fun. Who wants to join in?
7:05 pm on July 24th, 2014
We have to check out that squash. Will take your word for it that it is ugly. Hubbards, T & G’s mama is going to have to look up lots of recipes. At least they keep longer than zucchinis!
Barb has been waking up earlier and earlier. This morning it was 4:30. Now she is tired already. We just heard on the news that they have determined that 7 hours is the best amount of sleep to get. Any opinions on that one?
7:11 pm on July 24th, 2014
Barb – we prefer about 17 hours of sleep, thank you very much.
7:15 pm on July 24th, 2014
It was like Christmas at the post office today. Packages from Washington and Alaska and also one from Minnesota. The young girl who visited a few weeks ago sent me a lovely painting from an artist who consigns at her mothers shop. It is of a Blue Heron. The post mistress asked if it was my birthday…
Thanks y’all!
Picked two more squash today. I can’t find them on the other plant but I KNOW they are there!
7:18 pm on July 24th, 2014
MagPie, I get nine hours of sleep every night and any less than that and I am in a very bad mood.
7:56 pm on July 24th, 2014
I take katnaps whenever I (please) can. Does the number of naps total 17? You can take the Herb’s word on that.
Riƶ: Please check your SDD!
8:02 pm on July 24th, 2014
I like 8 or 9 hours sleep in the summer and 10 hours in the winter.
8:25 pm on July 24th, 2014
When working, mom slept 4 or 5. Now that she is retarded 8 or 9 feel real GOOD!
8:28 pm on July 24th, 2014
I think 17 hours might be a bit much for two leggeds but sounds about right around here for Lucy and me. She gets big bursts of puppy energy that last about 3 minutes then she goes back to sleep like the old girl that she is.
We are happy for all you who received your auction wins today.
Dawson, when do you leave on your trip?
8:35 pm on July 24th, 2014
RIO! YANKEES! Chris Capuano ( formerly a Rockie ), is now officially a Yankee!!
What is your take on this? Siber-H? Your two cents?
8:39 pm on July 24th, 2014
I WISH I could get 7 or 8 hours sleep! Seventeen would be the best thing ever!!,
I am a bad sleeper, and lately, I have been having many conversations with I don’t know who. I can actually hear myself speaking, and moving. During one conversation, I was reaching for something and almost fell out of bed.
8:40 pm on July 24th, 2014
Rose!…Dunno him…sniff!…His name is ringing no Pug-Bells right now…snort! …Maybe SiberH saw him play “once”, maybe?…heh!heh!

Rose!…For what it is worth, he is probably an excellent player and the Rockies never used him…grumble!
8:44 pm on July 24th, 2014
Wose, I have been a sleep walker all my life. About five years ago I woke up during the night to go to the bathroom and I clunked into an open dresser drawer. There was just Mollypop and me and she could not open dresser drawers.

RIO! I think this guy played for OFA’s team.
8:47 pm on July 24th, 2014

8:49 pm on July 24th, 2014
Bedtime. Checking out.
9:17 pm on July 24th, 2014
Sleep!…Walking! One night Beau and I watched our friend get up and start getting ready for work. Only it was 1:00am…snort!…She must have woke up or realized what she was doing because she soon came back to bed. We both chorkeled at her at the time…heh!heh!!
9:32 pm on July 24th, 2014
Wose, I doo not remember a Chris Capauna. Maybe he just passed through the Rockies organization.
You guys are making me sleepy.

Well, I know what a flight is! It is a paddle of 5 different beers for 2-leggeds, and a bowl of my beverage of choice at the same time. All of this was paired with 5 different bacons. Yummmm. I had a fantastic night. Mom kept calling me “Karma” all night, and then, at the end of the night, we met a dog who was actually named “Karma”! Does that ever happen to you? It is acrazy great world.
Good night from Momma’s best Good Karma.
9:41 pm on July 24th, 2014
y’all are makin’ us tired. Nighty night.
9:44 pm on July 24th, 2014
I never knew a dog named Karma, but I think it is a really cool name.
Barb is fading fast. We’re going to say good night and read for awhile.
Sweet dreams, especially you Rose.

I have blanched some basil to freeze. The house smells lovely.

Kat! You had the best night ever! 5 different bacons! I am drooling.
10:18 pm on July 24th, 2014
We have to go to bed too since we are being abandoned first thing tomorrow morning.
Yup, its the same old story. Poor Corgis – all alone with no one to feed us (except Gramp) or let us out (except Gramp) and we have to sleep in Gramp’s recliner instead of our beds.
Poor Corgis.
sniff.

Oh yeah, duh! Canadian bacon! I was really stretching with that bacon candy.
Off to wash up and hit the hay. My work is done for the day.
Sleep tight everyone except LizF. LizF should sleep loose because it’s daytime in Oz. A nap might be in order.
12:56 am on July 25th, 2014
As we near Melanie’s memorial we thought it would be appropriate to take the plunder litter out for their first spin. Needless to say they took to it like fish to water, especially Melanie who ran like a pro. Pictures is little Rose and Melanie.
