Gooood morning, everyone! Mmmm… isn’t a law a law? Why make ’em if we can’t/won’t enforce or follow ’em.

Missed Redbone Hound last night. Good to hear from him. Just so ya’ll know, it takes 2 of us to play 1 banjo, one pickin’, one frettin’.

    Good morning!
Mom bought us new “good” treats yesterday, when she was at the feed. One is Yummy Chummies, from Alaska. But the other is Cadet brand Duck Breast, which we now see is a “product of China”. These were not cheap.

God morning everyone, and thanks for the tip Spence.

Has anyone had a problem with those bacon strips? Better check and see if they are made in China.

Going back out to cut the grass, or do you say mow the lawn?

Has anyone noticed that the new trend when someone is being interviewed is that they start each answer with the word So…”. That is sooo annoying!

Soooo, cloudy and muggy. Grrrrr-eat morning. Lucy Lou was teaching baby Darah how to bob for goldfish. About the time the little one caught on, she want tail over tea kettle into the pond. We laughed our tails off. Mom doesn’t think it is so funny since Darah doesn’t shake. She just runs inside like a wet, drippy, string mop. Don’t know why mom is upset with me!

    Good Morning to All!

Plunderer Passports (SnowBella & Wookie’s Folks) with Special Stamps (Rio) sounds like a Fine Idea to us here.
By the luck of the draw we missed meeting Wose & Griz, Dawson and the O’Howler’s mom & pop. Not a good start.

BlueCat: That is a Good Thing to Visualize. A new Snowhook Sponsor waiting in the wings. Paws crossed here too!

Barb&Magpie: Soooo…What else is new? Snicker.

I love the idea of a Plunderers Paasport! Let’s see….I have met Amalia and the Storyteller, Mick and Jodi, Rebecca and the Giant, ALL the Snowhook dogs, including mama Luna and my VBFF, Belle Starr, just missed having a rendezvous with Bear and my dear Maquers, met the 2013 Iditarod mushers (does that count)? There are still LOTS of stamps missing….

Belle Starr, If the Giant hasn’t check already, ask your two-legged to stop at the post office….I happen to know to there is something there for you, you, you! I hope you like it.

Sooo, Barb, a pet peeve of mine is “That is a good question . .” To me that says, “Hold on until I can think of an answer.”

What a morning. I was going to take at easy (I have got to stop saying that outloud), but Zoë came up and sai the pump was not working.

Sigh . . 3 hours later, I have it working. Did ypu know you can’t have a leak in the pipe (that my nephew didn’t spot, since it was pourin rain when he was getting it going)?

    I have now had brunch.

Love the passport and stamp idea.
    Love BlueKat’s visualization idea.

    Riö, please check your SSD.

BSD, if you want to drop by when visiting T&G, please do sooooo.
    We will be napping.

“That is a good question” is a legitimate statement for a teacher to say to students. I often followed it with, “Does anyone have an answer” and we would get a discussion started.

  24. BearSpiritDog
    12:47 pm on June 8th, 2013

Wose: The Little Detective Agency must be getting Big!

Another Pet Peeve here is using “like” constantly in conversation.
Like the English language is not what it used to be. Grrr.

Thanks, Melanie, I could use a Siesta after eating all those biscuits.

So, what have we done! Seems we started a new trend on the blog.
“So” is the over used word this year, last year it was “quintessential”.

Oleys that is one cute chick.

Siber, last night when I told them to keep the chicks warm, I really meant that comment for the rents.

We saw a picture of Gus with a baby chick sitting on his head. He probably didn’t even know it was there. Would never happen with a Sibe! It would be like that trick where the dog balances the treat on his nose and then snaps it up!

Now it is time to do a little reading and then a nap.

    12:58 pm on June 8th, 2013

I love the passport idea. Dawson and I know a printer. I looked on which is where I do the ID cards and they don’t have anything like that.

Big storm here last night. We got home at the tail end and it had knocked the cover off one of the metal trash cans that hold birdseed. No it wasn’t the one with the cheap sunflower seeds- it was the one with the almost full 50 pounds of Niger seed! Yikes!

Lots of nest building going on here. Alice and Abbie have donated some extra fur. Last years milkweed has donated fistsfull of milkweed silk and a big cone of cotton yarn has donated stringy pieces. All being picked up as quick as I can get it out there.
A bluebird just took a bath in the bird bath.

So (snicker) I feel the same way as Melanie about the “That was a great question” phrase. It seems almost universal right now. It is fine for a teacher, but a politician is just trying to suck up. Heh.

  30. Wookie's Dad
    1:28 pm on June 8th, 2013

Barb & Maggie. I am totally with you on that, the jokesters on the blog notwithstanding. And it is not only in interviews, but everywhere. For example, on shows like Top Chef, whenever one of the contestants describes a dish they have prepared, they invariably start with the word “So.”. It seems to have become the universal way of starting conversation now. It’s almost as maddening as using “read” as a noun.

  31. Masquers
    1:29 pm on June 8th, 2013

We admit it – we are guilty of using the “so” thing. We will try to keep it in check from now on.
Our personal pet peeve (why does anyone WANT a peeve for a pet?) is when the word “unique” is modified. By definition, unique is the one and only. So to say something is very, most or, highly unique just gets under our fur. Especially since we are hearing it more and more from supposedly highly education and lauded newscasters, speechifiers and other professionals.
We just want to send them an email and say “STOP IT!”
(sheesh – how petty are WE?)

  44. SnowBella
    2:31 pm on June 8th, 2013

Rio: Sometimes you have to fly north to fly south.

I realized a pet peeve—maybe it is something more than a pet peeve— while people watching. I was posting on this here blog and wen I looked up there was a baby in a stroller and his older sister who can’t be more than four unattended not five feet in front of me. They were left by a main walkway in the gate. I scanned around and saw the mother standing in line for food. She was chatting away on her cell with her back turned from her children. Once she finished with her phone call she started chatting with people in line. Her back was still to her children. The four year old was running in and out of the crowd. I couldn’t help but think how easy it would be for someone with bad intentions to walk away with one or both of the children. The mother seems to have a lot of faith in her fellow man. I’m stepping off my soapbox now, but I’m keeping it close by because this has me riled up.

Bella, Barb’s dil does the same thing. Danger and worry are just not in her thought process. She tells Barb to let Lyla (age 6) get on her little bike and ride to her friend’s house to play. This is not far from our house, but around the block and out of sight. Barb didn’t say anything, but it will not happen on our watch. She also plans to have a girl turning 16 in July drive the two kids into town to the pool. First of all she doesn’t have the driving experience to be trusted with 2 kids, secondly, we picture her at the pool texting and talking on her cell while the kids are in the water. Third, I believe it is illegal in Illinois for a 16 year old to have more than one person in the car with them, unless it is a parent. Can’t say anything because she is a dil. Jeeze Louise!

You all should see ( or maybe not) Mama’s arms after her day at the hospital. She is black and blue from elbow to wrist on both sides from the nurse trying to hit a vein for an IV. We got the passport bookie thingie too, but Mama says we have to use the stinkin’ Corgi stamp that we already have. We think we need to appeal to our union.

Got my passport. Do not like any of the stamps I have seen. Pondering . .

We get this a lot when walking the dogs. Though our neighbors once thought that one of our dogs was loose when it was a bear.

Back!…In time to watch some of the hockey game…snort!…I had to stay outside with those two (mother got up after a short nap. gah!) while they pondered the garden and all the dry spots on the acreage they call back yard/front yard, then pulled a huge long hose to cover a hot-spot…sniff!…I was there. I saw it happen. I was in the front yard and I could have R-U-N-N-O-F-T, but I did not…heh!

Even though the home town boy scored one for the Princess and Mollypop’s Mom, the Kings retaliated and we go to overtime.

I planted Viola ‘Rebecca’ today. Yes I bought it because it is our own Snowhook BDHW’s name. But also because it smells heavenly! It is described as Vanilla scented white flowers with yellow shading and violet edges. It also says Zone 4 but in searching for a link to show youse guys I notice they all say Zone 5! Zone 4 is stretching it for us and Zone 5 is impossible. sniff. I will let you know how it goes. I hope it lives because I can’t always smell things and this one is yummy smelling.

Dawson are you thinking of getting a plunder passport? I could order one for you and me and save shipping costs. sniff. Sometimes shipping is more than a little item like this.

Beau was so happy and Rio’s friends Mom was so tired!

Staff: I was thinking I’m too frugal to buy a passport and I could probably make my own, with the help of Turtleman. That’s what I was thinking. I was also thinking you would be the only one I could get to stamp it, although there is a chance I run into BearSpiritDog at some point.

MinPin you behave now! If you go see Mr.Redbone Hound things always get a little ‘iffy’.

Dawson I think you are right. The Turtleman could do it and then stamp it Plunder Passport and we will have the BEST! heh.

I found some stamps for you today when I cleaned up the kitchen counter. (we have ants) drat it all.

Rio, tell your friend good luck with the ball catching. I bet you could catch one for her.

Mr.Staff told me some guy named Hunter Pence got a single and then stole second and then third and they threw the ball away and he went HOME! His team was playing the Snakes.
