In The News

“Mindy McCready shot herself,” Spence says.

“Sad news,” says Admin. “I liked her music.”

“She took her dog with her.”

“Why?”

“And the dog’s name doesn’t appear in any of the news reports I’ve seen.”

“Why not?”

Welcome Ralph Bravetail (dog park activist and potential pal of Puka); Haley – please retry.

Yes, as they said, another level of sadness to the story. It was her boyfriend’s dog. We looked but couldn’t find a name or picture.

Good(?) Morning, Barb & Maggie and All. Mom is sick again, so she is staying home. We got caught up this morning. The idea of a Plunderer group with its own name is a good one. What about The Waiting Ones? Because we all promised to wait for each other until our family is reunited at the bridge. Not to say we won’t be having plenty of fun while waiting…

Good morning! Sad day yesterday. Not sure of a name for those who have crossed the bridge. Nothing yet has fit. Maybe we just prefer to think of them individually. Or the “just right” name hasn’t been thought of yet.

Rio, mom has been watching “The Following”. Excellent show but very scary. She has watched the 1st 3 episodes and the suspense doesn’t let up. Some very surprising twists and turns. She has the next 2 episodes DVR’d. Tell your friend to keep watching.

It’s Copernicus’ birthday today. The Google doodle is really neat.

Why was Body of Proff off the air for awhile? Was it just a seasonal break?

Yes, Wolfie, Mindy M. left behind two boys. The younger one who is less than a year old will not even remember her. She evidently fought a lot of deamons. They should never have let her out of rehab after just a few hours.

Never heard of Mindy Mc. May she rest in peace. She had big problems to murder the dog and leave her children orphans. Sheesh, Spence, can’t you find some happy news?

Happy Birthday going out to the middle of the mitten.

Rose: One week? How exciting! Time to pack. You are such a luck, as we used to say when I was young.

Hacking: A couple days ago I was having a real bad hair day so I took the scissors and hacked off the offending stick-er out-ers. They were all on the right side. Yesterday the left side did the sticking out all over thing and they got hacked too. Also, I stopped at the library and got a book on how to cut your own hair. Heh. Lucky it’s hat season.

It is a good thing the authorities took Mindy Mc’s children away from her and put them in foster care. Otherwise, they might be dead along with the dog. We never cared for the two songs she had that were hits on the charts.

Good day to stay in and read a book. Just got The Secret Keeper from the library. This is Kate Morton’s fourth book, I believe. Seemds to be starting off better the The House at Riverton. Did enjoy that one but it was slow going.

BSD, Mindy M. shot her boyfriend’s dog, we think, because she didn’t want it to be left behind. The boyfriend killed himself on her front prock a couple of weeks ago. She shot herself in the exact same spot. They are still investigating his death, but it is a supposed suicide.

Jasper – tell your Mom HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

We are looking forward to Body of Proof too. We just watched the season closer from the last time it was on. We hope they are not going to have a recurring “monster under the bed” character like so many of the other shows do. We stopped watching The Mentalist because we got sick and tired of Red John. We know its a device used to get viewers involved, but we find it boring, unrealistic and hackneyed. So there!

And Spence – for goodness sakes – this is CHETS BLOG – not an obituary column. There has to be other (happier)stuff to talk about.

Mom got her hair cut on Friday. The hairdresser spun mom around in the chair, handed her a mirror, and said, in a VERY stern voice:

“YOU HAVE A BUTT CRACK IN THE BACK OF YOUR HEAD. NOBODY SHOULD EVER BE ALLOWED TO GO THE WORK WEARING A BUTT CRACK!”

Mom looked, and sure enough, there was sort of a part on her head. The lady grabbed a pair of scissors, trimmed about two hairs, and ‘back combed’ the rest.

The cost? Including a can of hairspray was $55!

Double Dawson has the right idea. Sheesh.

Barb&Magpie; Kate Atkinson has a new book that will be out in April called Life After Life.

I’ve been sick with a sinus infection for a few weeks now. What’s interesting about this is that I didn’t know I was sick. Being gluten-free has made everything different, so after two weeks of this infection that I didn’t know I had, it finally turned into a bacterial infection. I came home to the south bound end of a north bound Tenzing sticking out from under the bed. He mentioned something about Staff, fireworks and loving her anyway.

Rio: Tenzing says there is room under the bed with him if you need a good hidey-hole. I don’t have the heart to tell him that just because his head is under the bed doesn’t mean all of him is hidden.

    Hidey!…Hole! Here I come!…snort!…Move your big butt over Tenzing….grunt!

Dear Tenzig, I expect about 4 hours of loud banging for a week would annoy you. heh. There are some people in North Fargo that it annoys too. That and the fact that there is a traffic jam every night around that area of town. Sheesh. It takes us about 1/2 hour just to get out of the parking lot.

Staff: I love you, but I don’t love the pow, poppity-pop, pop, pop of the fireworks. Could you ask them to turn the volume down? Maybe then, they wouldn’t bother me so much.

Re: the mention of Mindy shooting her boyfriend’s dog before killing herself (a fact that is odd enough to be newsworthy):
“Dr. John Draper, the Director of the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, agrees that such an act had nothing to do with the pet’s behavior.
“One thing is for sure is that she was obviously feeling very close to her pet and that this wasn’t an act of hostility with her pet,” …It was probably more a statement of her close identification with her pet… I think what is often seen in these kinds of murder suicides is not just so much taking them with me as wanting to end the suffering for anybody or anything that you love that might suffer.” Dr. Draper explains that while there’s no data as to how frequently people who commit suicide kill their pets along with them, he often hears that pets are actually a reason many choose to keep living.”

    Happy B-day, Jazzy’s mom!

Royals, mom used to have two Lhasas,, but the only place that their hair got really long was on their pantaloons. Mom was always trying to trim them up. Dad would yell “run for it, doggies” when mom got out the scissors. Later, dad would tell them that they looked like they were attacked by a weed wacker.
