My heart has been hurting since the news of Patsy’s passing. My love, hugs, and prayers are with Melanie and Zoe, and the rest of the Pack always.

    T&G, your pantaloons look beautiful!

Kat, did you get some snow?

Bear and Masquers, tornadoes in Washington state?

Bella, make sure you take your feel better in no time pills. Hope you are feeling tip-top soon!

Taxes are being done today. I hear the “Jaws” theme song playing in the distance.

Good morning. Love the picture. Gus is here for the week, but no snow today. We could get 2-4″ tomorrow, than Gus could look like that. He loves to lay out in the snow.

Heard Denver has 6″ of the white stuff today. Protect those underbits, Rio and Beau! Maybe you can get out of the brutal walk at least.

Ah Newport RI…such a tragedy that OFA has to go to such a place. Oceans and waves and seafood and mansions. Yup, he surely sacrifices for his art.

    Good morning all,

Thank you for all your thoughts, prayers and virtual hugs. They have been much appreciated.

That is my favorite picture of Patsy. She had just been playing like made with the Pack and when I took the camera out she did her Noble pose.

She was my companion, my goof ball, and even though she had cancer for the last years, she was my Angel when it came to getting through The Raven’s decline and Zoë’s fall and recovery.

I’ll be lurking for awhile. I will slowly be answering the SDD messages that Zoë and I received.

You guys? Don’t get bogged down in this, Plunder On, and have fun.

Love that picture of Patsy! Thank you, Spence. Mom knows what it is like to miss a dog that sleeps beside you on the bed all night for years. We are sad for Melanie. It is hard.

I hope Rio isn’t snowed in. While Rio gets snow, we are going to have blowing sand later in the day from the same weather system.

    Good Morning All

A Beautiful Photo of River Bear Patsy.

Melanie: You know you, Zoe and the Pack are in our Plunderer thoughts and prayers always.
Lurk as long as need be.
    We Love You.

Wose: Yikes! Tornadoes? We have not heard of this.
WeatherKat has obviously been falling down on the job.
Looks like our Pug friend is covered in Snow this morning. He and Beau will not be pleased.

New England in the fall is breathtaking! Go for it.

Barb is the only person who still wants snow. I think it is because she missed part of winter being self absorbed with her surgery, making it seem like a really short winter. One more week she says, then spring can arrive.

Our snow totals are 2 feet for the last 7 days and 185 inches for the season which started very late. I’m still miffed about the dog sled races that had to be canceled. We could do that now. We could run the Iditarod now!

Nope, Barb is not the only one who still wants snow. We join Mr. Husky in that club, too.

Barb – SELF ABSORBED??!?!?!? You had major surgery, woman! You are ENTITLED to be self-absorbed. And you weren’t anyway. You would never make a good Wrotten Kat – you think way too much of other people.

Can youse guys imagine Dawson and Rio taking New England by storm? It will never be the same.

    We only had three.

    11:47 am on March 23rd, 2013

Thank you for those kind words, and thank you Staff for the heads up. We were thinking that Spence might be more likely to come to Chi-town, since his son is living and working here. One extra reason to stop here. If anyone wants to drive in for his talk, we have an extra bedroom.

Also, Barb reached out thru SDD to several Plunderers who she thought might be the one to be in charge of her flower ordering when she was in the hospital. No one claims responsibility, but you can still come forward if you wish. Whoever ordered them did such a perfect job with the chicken balloon and the chicken coffee cup that she was just thrilled. And the flowers, of course, were so beautiful that all the nurses commented on them. Anywho, we just wanted you, whoever you are, to know how much you were appreciated.

    Reunion sites for Plunderers:
Massachusetts because I want to see the East Coast.
New Mexico because I want to see the desert.
Camano Island because I have a thing for islands.

Can there be a reunion if we’ve never met?

Bedrooms!…Hey, since there are so many extra bedrooms available, and a little cabin in Alaska, maybe me and my friend won’t have to pay for vacation…snort!…We can just live off our friends till they kick us out and then move onto the next available bedroom…heh!heh!…I like it!

We here have BIG NEWS. But youse better sit down before reading further. The ‘rents just returned from the Feed and youse will never ever believe what they ordered while there: CHICKIES !!!!! Yup, we here are going to have our very own chickens. yummm, we can taste it already. heh heh he

The best (or funniest) part of all of this is that Mom & Pop say that critters like foxes and raccoons will come by to try to steal our chickens, and (this is going to blow you away) WE HUSKIES will protect the chickens.
(whispering) We say that raccons and foxes are great to do battle with, and then there will be chicken treats for rewards. heh heh heh

Regarding “whom”: Usage is everything. I’ve said that before.

Regarding Tigers game: You’re using “Tigers” as an adjective instead of “baseball” so you don’t need a possessive apostrophe. If you said, “The Tigers’ winning streak…” you would need an apostrophe.

And what is so funny about “codswallop”? We use that around here quite a bit. Gramp is well known for proclaiming things to be a load of codswallop. And no one looks at him funny when he does.

New Englanders tend to more colorful and colloquial swear words.

Oleys, Barb had all of those breeds. Assume you ought “straight run” and will be keeping the hens for eggs. You will get some nice brown eggs and even green from the Americaunas. Those are all easy going, calm breeds and will make a nice flock. They need to be kept under a heat lamp for a few weeks, but you probably know that. The chickens are what Barb misses the most from the farm. Oh, and keep at least one roo, they watch out for their ladies. However he will be no match for a pack of Sibes. So glad you didn’t buy the cornish rock fast growing hybrids that commercial growers raise. Did anyone know that the “cornish hens” you can buy at the store are really 4 week old chickens? That is how fast those little suckers grow.

Patsy was always the master of disguise. All we see in that photo is snow covered in black fur. We here are trying to focus on the positive. Melanie had several extra months with her best girl, Patsy. That was a surprise. Patsy was with Melanie through all the struggles this year. What a blessing that Patsy took her job seriously and saw it through to the end. And, we know Patsy will never stray far from her charge. All of these things are good things.

As I mentioned a couple of days ago, my Lady finally went to the vet for her back. Instead of getting better like it usually does, it was getting worse. He gave her some very strong—very strong— feeling-good-in-no-time pills and she has had a difficult time functioning after taking just one pill. Yesterday morning she put lotion on her toothbrush instead of toothpaste. Good things she noticed before she started brushing. Yeep!

Rio: I would not forget you, I promise. Things went into the mail on different days. Hopefully by the end of next week many of you will have received little momentos in the mail compliments of the Iditarod. There were a couple of addresses I couldn’t find so apologies.

I bought a ton of stuff in Nome that will go nicely in our next auction or mercantile. I put on my newly-discovered evil pug persona while in Nome and tried to find things that youse will pay $ for.

Rebecca: can you wear a back brace of some sort that will keep you from moving in the wrong direction? Here is some advice a friend gives pregnant women facing childbirth, “take the drugs and ask for more.” I figure pain is pain and this might work for you. I think being pain free helps with healing.

Mama has learned a very important lesson today. She learned that it is better to do grocery shopping when she should do it, rather than wait until there was next to nothing left in the house, and then be forced to go to the grocery store on a Saturday afternoon.
There was no margarine, butter, eggs, potatoes, onions, milk, rice, bread or fresh fruit or veggies. She tried and tried to figure out how to put a dinner together without any of the basic elements. Finally gave in to the inevitable, and went.
TWO AND A HALF HOURS LATER – as she was coming home, she made a resolution to not let this happen again!
Then Gramp offered to go get fish and chips for dinner. As grateful as she was, she kind of wished that he had made that offer BEFORE she set foot in that melee of coupon-clutching, baby-cart-wielding, bargain-hunting, “I-saw-it-first” , “do I have to buy all 6 to get the discount”, cart-banging, over caffeinated mob.
And after all that – she forgot the eggs.
    Idiot….

Whiner!… My friend has to go to the damned, very damned, grocery store every weekend because someone who sits home all day long will not go through the week when there are far less coupon-clutching, baby-cart-wielding, bargain-hunting, “I-saw-it-first” , “do I have to buy all 6 to get the discount”, cart-banging, over caffeinated mobs in the aisles…sniff!…Today she had to drive in a blizzard to get all that white food they were out of…grump!
