I don’t think Pilot and Crisp like the garlands around their necks. (In the picture.)

    Good morning all.

Sharon and Digger have left the Hobbit Hotel and have a very long day of travel ahead of them. Now things are very quiet. lol. Sadie and Mr. Big will miss those extra hands petting them and the extra humans letting her in/out, in/out, in/out…
I will miss Chef Digger, Handyman Digger and my very own Iditarod insider commentator. They are both very interesting and knowledgeable people.
    Safe travels, my friends.
Since I got up at 4:10 am, I am going to sleep a wee more.
And good day to everyone else.

Good morning. Interesting race strategy that won the race. Hope the dogs are ok after running that fast for that distance.

Staff and I briefly met Nicolas Petit when he came to Snowhook Kennels to borrow a tool from AJ. Being French he kissed our hands when we met and we both nearly swooned. Kidding! A friend of Snowhook’s is a friend of ours. That was a $5000. classy move from Nic Petit.

Another class act is CHobbitz at the 6 or 7 star (I can ‘t keep track of all the improvements) Hobbit Hotel opening up her home to us Plunderers for another year during the Iditarod. Thanks for hosting me for a hat-trick of years.

As someone who doesn’t like crowds, likes warm weather and has never had a dog (sob), I can say the Iditarod gets into your blood.

BooBear: Mitch Seavey’s team has obviously been training at those high speeds for quite awhile. They looked quite happy and healthy at the finish. Amazing athletes!

I like the way OFA congratulated the team of dogs first and then Mitch.

Digger and Sharon kindly left some of their wine so I am indulging. This could become a habit!

I adopted out 1 of my 4 foster kitties. This one was one that I was 100% behind but will keep checking on how it is going. I really liked the young woman but there were a couple of red flags (she has a 4-5 month old female that has received no kitty vaccinations nor has been altered). I delivered my foster kitty to her since she had brought no carrier plus it was a process of getting the cat into the carrier since my first effort failed. When I arrived, her place had other adults and a child who I don’t know are living with her (or she with them) or if they are visiting. I am not like other foster homes who want the perfect placement but I hope this one works for both the kitty and for her.

    More wine!

Wowser yippee woo hoo! Our peeps have finally returned to us . We thought they had abandoned us. They are pretty tired but they started showing as gifts like salmon bites! It almost makes up for them being gone, almost.
The good news is they are home safely and we are sitting on them so they don’t leave us again. Mom said she’ll catch up on the block in the morning today started at 3:45 AM.
