Ice Cream Addendum
“Ice cream addendum?” says Admin. “That sounds like a somewhat addled Robert Ludlum title.”
“I forgot to mention one thing about Savannah,” Spence says. “In honor of the Book Festival, this great old ice cream place called Leopold’s names an ice cream for each of the writers. “
“And yours was?”
“The Peppermint Who Knew Too Much.”
“How was it?”
“Delicious.”

Oh, I love rum raisin also and haven’t had it for a long time.
We’re supposed to be getting three to five inches of snow tonight so I’m going to the market to day. (Perhaps I’ll have to get some ice cream.)
11:12 am on February 23rd, 2012
Ice Cream! Yum. What Fun.
This is a GREAT start for us
Good Morning Everyone!
11:17 am on February 23rd, 2012
Now I’m really hungry!
SCAM alert!
I was trying to get through McKey’s work stuff before I went to acupuncture and I hit mail.
That’s when I see an email for Zoë saying her $2,680.00 charge for a company just went through.
I asked her if she had bought anything that expensive. NOPE!
And I had to LEAVE!
I explained to her not to hit the link, to look on her credit cards and see if they had been hacked.
She started that and I said if need be when I got back we’d look at her credit report and see if any new cards were on there.
Got back from JonnyG’s and no charges and she had sent it to her accountant asking him what to do next.
So, GOOD MORNING!
11:19 am on February 23rd, 2012
We can tell that the blog is going to have a lot of fun today naming ice creams!
We are not getting snow but just se of here they are getting about 6″, so we lucked out this time! Rio, tell your friend to drive carefully.
11:19 am on February 23rd, 2012
Good morning everyone
All the ice cream sounds delicious. Mom only likes chocolate ice cream. She is weird.
We are going out this morning to have new tires put on my truck. These chores must be done before the Iditarod starts.

I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream For Ice Cream

There’s a college known as Ogiwawa!
You should hear those college boys, Gee, they make an awful noise
When they sing an Eskimo tra-la-la!
Snort!…There is a lot more, but I will spare youse this morning….heh!
11:32 am on February 23rd, 2012
Melanie – was that supposed charge from a place called “newegg”? If so, so even worry about it – and certainly don’t hit the link. The company which is legit was hacked and the emails are NOT legit – you can tell because they say “dear customer”.
Mama got 3 of those emails – they said that her card had been charged over $20000. After she picked herself up from the floor for laughing (like SHE has that kind of money in her accounts) she did send emails to card companies telling them just in case that she didn’t get anything.
11:34 am on February 23rd, 2012

Rio, sorry about the WIND, but it was getting to be a little too much for us…so we swept it out of here…sorry to hear it went your way.
Well…would like to come up with a clever name for a special ice cream, but I’m having one of those brain (freezes) clouds…..

Congrats on Dan’s homecoming! Melanie, tell him we really enjoyed White Wings.
Back to work, guys! Rats, we wish Mom was retired or semi retired or sort of retired! She only gets 2 weeks vacation, no personal days, no sick days and 5 holidays a year! After working there for 33 years. Oh well, it’s a job!
Later, guys!

Gus and Boo Bear. Thanks for asking about me, and, yes, I am doing just fine. Had some more quilting supervisory responsibilities recently, which required major attention, but those are now well in paw. I’m also just so totally amazed and blown away by all the incredible support that the Plunderers have shown for Snowhook, and I am also really looking forward to Snowhook, the Movie, with Commander Rio as the Director. Wookie
4:54 pm on February 23rd, 2012
Hi Wöökie! Missed you around here.
B.Stover is correct about the TV show.
For those of you on Facebook: On Zoë’s page is the picture of the decals and magnets with a link to Snowhook. If you all on FB would please share that we can get the word out.
Totally exhausted. Going to watch the rest of the season finale of Downton Abby.
whispering. Does rum raisin really have run in it? Inquiring minds want to know.
4:55 pm on February 23rd, 2012
I’m laughing at the thought of Commander Rio as director, but, hey, that might just work out.
Melanie, We’ll miss you, but all paws crossed for YSAS and a great trip for you.
5:11 pm on February 23rd, 2012
Wookie: Snowhook The Movie…has a nice ring to it and we definitely can see Rio in the director’s chair.
Melanie: Thank you for posting the photo on facebookie. Nana has promised to share with her friends.
Chet:(whispering) Will our favorite author be getting the word out here at Chet’s Place also? (p.s. Melanie posted that really cool photo with magnets & note from her fridge reminding her to buy Fist Full of Collars as soon as it comes out. Heh, heh. Just a suggestion)
We, too, are off to enjoy the season finale of Downtown Abbey. Lots of shows to catch up on!
5:43 pm on February 23rd, 2012
I just read Zoe’s comment about my not needing reading glasses and thought it was time to fess up. There shouldn’t be too many secrets among friends, so here Zoe is another picture for you.

5:48 pm on February 23rd, 2012
I’m glad so many of you are enjoying Downton Abbey. We watch it faithfully and look forward to its return in the fall. Just saw this write up while browsing and want to share it.
The second season finale of PBS’ Downton Abbey posted the network’s biggest audience in nearly three years.
A total of 5.4 million viewers tuned into Sunday night’s two-hour closer. It was PBS’ most-watched program since the premiere of Ken Burns’ National Parks in 2009. For some perspective, PBS’ period drama delivered more first-run viewers than FX receives for successes like American Horror Story and Justified, or AMC gets for favorites like Mad Men and Breaking Bad (though not as much as The Walking Dead).
Overall, the second season Abbey audience was 25 percent larger than the first round. The show is also delivering a much younger audience than the usual Masterpiece crowd, with female viewers 18-34 up 251 percent.
6:09 pm on February 23rd, 2012
Melanie: Haggen Dazs rum raisin puts the raisins in a rum flavor blend for 42 days.
6:19 pm on February 23rd, 2012
Have finished AD! Wow, what an ending…
TYB, you look way too young for reading glasses.
Very tired. Snow coming tonight. Jesse came over to help me get the suitcase in the car. Patsy is not talking to me.
6:42 pm on February 23rd, 2012
Okay, so I’m cranky today. I went to Sam’s but didn’t get any needed puppy hugs because she was off getting Wonderfluffed. I had an appointment with the eye doctor and my cataracts are getting worse. Then I drive 50 miles home and listen to our 6 p.m. news. Well, enough is enough. The Boston Bruins are bad mouthing Buffalo and the Buffalo Sabres. They are animals and attack goalies but, what the hey, the Bruins owner is from Buffalo and we went to high school together.
I’ve had it and I know Dawson can empathize.
7:03 pm on February 23rd, 2012
Mollypop’s Mom: The cataracts can be removed right? Hope you start feeling better.
7:30 pm on February 23rd, 2012
G & B, Here are those books in the Andy Carpenter series, first one was written about 10 years ago:
Open & Shut
First Degree
Bury the Lead
Sudden Death
Dead Center
Play Dead
New Tricks
Dog Tags
One Dog Night
Leader of the Pack
You can see that he was on sort of a “dead” theme for awhile with his titles, and then the last few have more dog friendly names. Actually, all of his books have a lot of fun dog stuff in them. BBL after dinner
7:42 pm on February 23rd, 2012
MollysMom!…You better get those Kataracts off yer eyes quick…snort!…Nothing good can come from that, let me tell you…sniff!

Mr.Husky,
I am setting up my 5 favorite mushers to follow on the Insider. Tell me who you chose besides Justin please. Is there a all-Husky team?
8:24 pm on February 23rd, 2012
Rio, Someone – was it Wookie – just recommended this series a month or so ago. David Rosenthal is the author. Had never heard of him, but his series is very entertaining and fun. Andy is an attorney with a wise cracking attitude, a beautiful girlfrind and the best dog in the entire universe (according to Andy). Check them out. I bet Spence knows him.
8:52 pm on February 23rd, 2012
Macy wins the prize for best name!
8:53 pm on February 23rd, 2012
Staff, I haven’t set up any mushers to follow yet, I may not because I am so used to following them myself on the gps tracker.
It is fun to locate the mushers I am watching, find their little green flag on the map, and note their postion and speed.
I have no way of knowing ahead of time which mushers will be in the lead at different points in the race, so I am not sure there is any point in me choosing specific mushers to follow. Everything can change so rapidly in a long distance sled dog race.
All the dogs in the race are Alaskan Huskies except the two teams of Siberians. I will follow them, but I am not expecing great things from them. I just want them to have fun, stay safe, and finish the race.
This is a good time to say that not all the mushers and teams are actually racing in the Iditarod. Some are doing it for the adventure and trip with their dogs. They know they have no chance of even placing in the money, but that is not why they are running the Idtarod.
We will all be cheering for AJ and the dogs. GO SNOWHOOK!!
8:54 pm on February 23rd, 2012
Wookie; Please check your SDD asap.
9:04 pm on February 23rd, 2012
Correction! David Rosenfelt not Rosenthal is the author. He does rescue on the side, primarily Goldens, which is why Wookie likes him.
Who told us about him? Was it Wookie’s dad?
9:14 pm on February 23rd, 2012
Totally gone here.
Jeez Louise I was going to say more and there is NOTHING in my head.

11:16 pm on February 23rd, 2012
Hey, y’all! Mom and Dad are back from the beach, and I’m back from the v*e*t! I got a pretty good report, although there are a few things I have to work on. I keep forgetting I’m not a young pup anymore!
I finally got caught up on the blog! There’s been a lot of excitement — I obviously missed a lot, and Bubbie and Possum are upset that they weren’t here to bid on that Kat sponsorship. 🙁
By the way, guess what Mom is doing right now? She’s working on a map of the Iditarod route to hang on the back window at the library. She wants to put it up tomorrow so she can drum up some interest in her storytime next Saturday. She’ll tell the kids to keep checking the map to follow AJ’s progress on his way to Nome!
11:27 pm on February 23rd, 2012
I missed valentine’s day so I don’t know if you’ve already seen this, but Rio – saw this, thought of your friend and her artworks.

HI LIZ! Finally we are here when you are. Please give our best to Miss Cricket
We had lots of fun with ice cream day, but now we are saying good night. See you all tomorrow.
11:44 pm on February 23rd, 2012
Rio: Great paper thingy.
Melanie: We’ll be thinking good thoughts for YSAS tomorrow. Don’t know about the time, though. Clocks are not my best friends!
Masquers: I thought the same thing!
Ice cream…hmmm…I think Mom may have some hidden in the freezer. Unfortunately it isn’t in the refrigerator with the freezer in the bottom — it’s in the one with the freezer on the top. 🙁 Now would be a good time for one of youse big guys to blur on over!
11:56 pm on February 23rd, 2012
The link Liz just posted reminded me that Etsy on EBay would be a good place for your friend to sell her wares. And, that verse could just as well read…”I love every little piece you do”.
Hi Liz! Glad you liked the YQ2012 link from last night. It has certainly amped up our enthusiasm for the upcoming Iditarod race…as if we needed to be any more Gung-ho!
Macy: You are making me hungry for sherbert!
Kirby: Great idea your mom had…an Iditarod map in the library. Snowhook Kennel will be a household word by the time the Plunderers are through!
Tyb: I must say, you look very scholar-ish with those specs on. Hmm…looks like a good book you’re reading. We may have seen it somewhere before…..

Once you do that, start applying it into your daily routine.
Honey was also widely used in India to treat eye
disease and has been used by traditional healers in Mali to prevent scarring of the cornea in
cases of measles. You can then possess healthy and beautiful eyes
devoid of crow’s feet and dark circles around the eyes.
