“I think we should remind people that by going to the About button you can watch Melanie’s terrific Snowhook video,” Spence says. “Here at the blog we have a big interest in Snowhook Kennel, their wonderful team and owners, and the Iditarod race.”
“And while we’re at it,” Admin adds, “how about going over the Chet and Bernie publishing schedule? The paperback of The Dog Who Knew Too Much comes out June 19. Then there’s the e-short story, A Cat Was Involved – August 14. And Sept. 11 – A Fistful of Collars, the totally brand new novel. Should we mention the Costco news?”
“Let’s hold off on that.”

Good morning all. Maybe we will be first this morning! I hope we can find a way to read A Cat Was Involved, since we don’t have any e devices.
Barb is leaving a little early for work, since there was a Pet Finders notice on line for a dog lost in our town. We get those from Home Again, the chip people. Barb is going to do a loop thru town to see if she sees Remi, and 8 month old Lab running amuck.
9:05 am on May 18th, 2012
What Costco news?
Good morning all.
9:06 am on May 18th, 2012
Good Morning Barb&Magpie & Everyone!
Nice of you to help track the lost Lab, Barb. The Home Again chip has united many lost family members.
Thanks O.Howlers for the link last night to Karin Henderson’s story of her Iditarod adventures. It is quite long so we will have to read it in segments.
I hope AJ will be writing his book recounting all that happened to Team Snowhook this year.
Wonder what the Costco thing is…..

Hi, B!
9:08 am on May 18th, 2012
Hi Bear and Barb and Maggie.
9:14 am on May 18th, 2012
Costco? Big Store Thing right? Don’t have any around here. Did find out that SQ will be at the Association of American Publishers convention in NYC, 6/6 and 6/7. Says he’s appearing and signing. Do you think they’ll just have him stand up and turn around? . . and for our next author, Spencer Quinn, we’ll start the bidding at $100 . . . take a turn there Spence . . . going, going . . .
Hmm, actually maybe this is the way Siber-H can get out of his problem. I bet Natasha would give a lot of treats to get SQ and then hold him ransom for the a reader’s copy of “A Fistful of Collars”.
snicker
9:16 am on May 18th, 2012
Oh yeah, youse guys might want to wander to a certain Giant and BDH Wife’s blog! Snickering quietly to myself.
9:25 am on May 18th, 2012
Good morning all!
We saw the Snowhook news on FB first thing. Does Amalia know?
10:09 am on May 18th, 2012
Auction!…Hey! Do youse think Spencer would let us auction him off this summer in the Snowhook Auction?…heh!heh!…Wouldn’t it be grand if you won him you wouldn’t actually have to take him home and feed him…snort!…No, the deal would be that he would write a short story just for you…wooooo!…Wouldn’t that be a awesome Auction Item?…chuffle!…Spencer are you there? Are you reading this?…snort!…Tap once for “Yes!” …heh!
10:33 am on May 18th, 2012
There is a Costco here. I think you need a membership and I didn’t renew mine.
11:01 am on May 18th, 2012
Oh My! Twirl, spin, wag, repeat!
Dad is teary eyed and honored.
Mama noticed that it was the “eldest dog” – tee hee
11:04 am on May 18th, 2012
Rio, So what time do we start watching the soap operas?
Costco? Mom is not a member but she knows people who are. That will work.
Wow, Rio, A short story just for one of us. You know how well he writes about baseball. He could write on one that subject for you, me, or Stover.
Fellow Sibers, Thanks for the link. We are also going to read it in installments.
11:05 am on May 18th, 2012
Rebecca, that is so terrific for you to do, and certainly there is no more deserving person that T&G’s dad. Bless you.
There is a real touching story on Huff Post today about a hawk dropping a puppy from the sky and the family that saved him in Los Banos, California. While it is a real sweet story, not sure if it is appropriate for young Sammie to read. Link below. Wookie

Melanie, What is BDH Wife?
11:27 am on May 18th, 2012
Barb: “Best Damn Handler Wife”…referring to Rebecca.
How do you like that. I knew acronym!
SH: Heh!
11:40 am on May 18th, 2012
Thanks, Wookie. Good news for one little guy.
11:50 am on May 18th, 2012
The Giant is definitely a big softie. It’s Welcome to the kennel for the Lucky ones.
We started to read a story about the Spirit Team coming into Nome, but didn’t see the continuation on the blog.
Rebecca?
12:27 pm on May 18th, 2012
Hey! We just realized that Albert Lewis’ photos are posted on Snowhook’s blog. They are great! Our fav is the one of The Wanderer (AJ) and The Finder (Whitey-Lance)
12:29 pm on May 18th, 2012
That little guy certainly fell into the right hands.
Did not see any signs of the missing Remi. Apparently he has not been found yet. Barb always carries a leash in her car just in case.
12:30 pm on May 18th, 2012
Oley, we loved that photo too. AJ certainly is a hunk, isn’t he?
12:38 pm on May 18th, 2012
lol OleyHowlers! AJ as the wanderer, obviously Whitey-Lance knew where HE was all the time.
Don’t tell Patsy but I’m about to clean her up and then take her to the river.
12:55 pm on May 18th, 2012
Melanie: Clean first, then take Patsy to the river?
12:58 pm on May 18th, 2012
Barb – you are very good and caring voman to carry leash and look for lost doggie.
Is possible ve could borrow leash to drag…oh, make that “encourage ” certain Husky dog down aisle?
1:42 pm on May 18th, 2012
Patsy!…Is Patsy a big Talking Heads fan?…snort!
Take me to the river, drop me in the water
I don’t know why I love her like I do
All the trouble that you put me through….
2:31 pm on May 18th, 2012
Natasha!…You will probably need a choke chain for that!…heh!…SiberH is probably digging his escape tunnel right now…chorkel!
2:41 pm on May 18th, 2012
Ummm, Natasha, not sure I can find that leash right now. Are you really sure about this?
2:56 pm on May 18th, 2012
Natty: What happened to the old “playing hard to get” ploy?
2:59 pm on May 18th, 2012
Siber-H: They say if you dig deep enough you can go all the way to China.
2:59 pm on May 18th, 2012
The river is very clean here. Easier to rinse the biodegradable cleaner there.
Good luck Natasha.
Cool Runnings Siber-H.
3:00 pm on May 18th, 2012
Pantry!…Hey! That guy ate all our Zingers….grunt!…Someones mother is not gonna be very happy about that…gruffle!
3:01 pm on May 18th, 2012
Masquers, I have tried the voice of reason, but it does not seem to be working. You know the Borzoi is a sight hound, and it appears the Natasha has her sight set on a certain Husky. Oh boy!
3:04 pm on May 18th, 2012
Wookie, I did read the article you posted. I’m not afraid of any stupid hawk.
3:27 pm on May 18th, 2012
Masquers – vhat are you talking of? He is playing very hard to get.
3:42 pm on May 18th, 2012
Good for you Sam. Now the question is, should the haw be afraid of you. Wookie
3:44 pm on May 18th, 2012
Natasha, I can be off leash anytime, anywhere, but I am not leaving this basement.
3:51 pm on May 18th, 2012
That siber-husky has taken all of my stuffed toys and he won’t give them back…gurgle!…All of our zingers are missing too…snuffle!
3:54 pm on May 18th, 2012
Siber-H tries on a disguise . .

4:49 pm on May 18th, 2012
Good afternoon all!
I am not a Costco member. 🙁
Aw, AJ, you softie! Love the pictures of the Snowhook team!!!!
4:59 pm on May 18th, 2012
I was just thinking about you, Rose, so glad you checked in
Naming the rescue Leonard is a great idea. Those prayers quickly became a part of our Iditarod experience. We really appreciated them.
Melanie, I might consider getting married before I would look like that kat.
5:04 pm on May 18th, 2012
Good to hear from you Rose.
5:04 pm on May 18th, 2012
Natasha: Why do you want to be married?
5:12 pm on May 18th, 2012
Bee, I don’t know what is going on in her head. Beats the bejeebies out of me. Maybe she fell and hit her head when she was running across the frozen tundra in high heels.
5:30 pm on May 18th, 2012
Barb and Maggie: LOL!!
5:32 pm on May 18th, 2012
Wookie, I would show that hawk what-for. He wouldn’t mess with me, oh no.
5:37 pm on May 18th, 2012
Hey everyone! Where has this day gone? Running all over the place, picking up fired pottery, dropping off more to be fired, going to the hardware store to get last minute stuff for the lights at the art show next weekend….
Siber – we have an idea for another fund raiser for Snowhook – we would pay real money to see you get into that Kat suit.
Beau – poor puppy. (did you check Rio for “Zinger breath”?)
Hi Rose! Glad you are home safe and sound.
Melanie – Did you and Patsy have a wonferful time in the river? Any beavers about this year?
5:56 pm on May 18th, 2012
T&G I would consider doing it for Snowhook, but can’t a cuter kat suit be found.
B&M LOL The Iditarod! Natasha’s brain injury could have happened then.
5:58 pm on May 18th, 2012
Burp!…I do not have zinger breath…heh!heh!
6:29 pm on May 18th, 2012
Rose! So sorry the Smoochers were late getting there this morning! Luckily, Luna had her trusty calendar to remind us that your weekly lightening bolts ended today and not last week. What can we do to make up for our tardiness?
6:30 pm on May 18th, 2012
Zingler Breath. I can smell it from here.
6:38 pm on May 18th, 2012
Rose, somehow I got it mixed up and thought last week was your last day. Feel Good!
I also missed the beginning of “Sherlock”. I am now going to the Masterpiece Mystery website and watch the first episode.
Siber-H, how about this disguise?
6:47 pm on May 18th, 2012
Oh, I like that one, Melanie. Look at those blue eyes. Could that be a Siberian Tiger?
7:05 pm on May 18th, 2012
Eeeeeeeek!!!!!
Ve may have to do some rethinking after all
7:16 pm on May 18th, 2012
Smoochers, I could never be mad at any of you!
Thanks all youse guys for thinking of me!
Unfortunately, lightning bolts are still in my future, but will be every two weeks instead of every week.
I forgot to mention earlier that I think it is a wonderful tribute to Leonard that the new member of Snowhook bears his name.
Oh, and I’m jealous of youse guys on the left coast who will be able to see the Ring of Fire on Sunday….lucky dogs!
7:22 pm on May 18th, 2012
Smoochers and I are settled in watching the Yankee game.
Tomorrow the Prof and I will figure out a way to sneak the gang in to see The Avengers on the IMAX 3 D screen. I see a couple of large popcorns in our future….
8:16 pm on May 18th, 2012
I googled “Costco and Chet and Bernie novels” and I got a blog page. It had an Astrid post AND the mission to Spence’s house where the agents foiled a burglery. I laughed and laughed. Those were the days! I wonder whatever happened to that squirrel that was supposed to come to me after the mission?
8:23 pm on May 18th, 2012
Oh yeah.
That post was titled, More Fun With Tin Futures! Part 1 (of 37), if you want to read it again.
8:24 pm on May 18th, 2012
Awesome, Dawson, what was the page? LInk?
“Sherlock” was wonderful! Funny, scary, intriguing. Wow. I loved how they got out of the bad situation that Holmes and Watson were in at the end of last season.
8:32 pm on May 18th, 2012
What a great mission. No wonder the van fell apart last year.
8:35 pm on May 18th, 2012
Tiger!…SiberH would only have to modify his make-up a little to be that tiger…heh!heh!
Dawson!…If I remember correctly, that was the Mission that no one particularly liked at the time…sniff!
8:49 pm on May 18th, 2012
SiberH!…How do you like that Julie Cavnar so far?…snort!…The new “on the field” sportscaster for the Rockies…sneeze!…So far she has not gotten hit by a baseball like that other one always used to…grunt!…I’m ashamed to confess that I have forgotten the other ones name already…wheeze!
8:53 pm on May 18th, 2012
Siber-H says, “Is it safe to come out yet?”
8:54 pm on May 18th, 2012
I was going to try to stay up later, but that is not going to happen. TTFN all.
8:58 pm on May 18th, 2012
Photo!…That foto was taken during SiberH’s journey to our basement…heh!…Dawg knows who took it. His expression is priceless…chorkel!
9:02 pm on May 18th, 2012
Rio, I think the other one’s name was Alana. So far, I don’t like Julie as well as Alana, but sometimes I can be a dog who hates change of any kind. I liked Alana.
Melanie, That is a cute photo. Thanks. I would say that is a nice looking dog but modesty doesn’t permit me to say that.
9:05 pm on May 18th, 2012
Julie!…Her real name is Jenny, but who cares at this point…sniff!…She has to get hit by the ball a few times before I respect her…grunt!…I think they had to cart Alana off th field one time when she got hit in the head….cough!
9:19 pm on May 18th, 2012
Siber dear – vorry not. Natasha vill not try change you

9:38 pm on May 18th, 2012
Rio: What?! I think May 11th, 2010 was a slow blog day but everyone loved that mission.
I’ve got a bunch of photos back from Melanie for the store but the descriptions will have to wait until tomorrow. I’m beat.
It topped 90 degrees here today, and more of the same forecast for tomorrow, which has me longing for the snowy vistas back home.
9:39 pm on May 18th, 2012
Natasha! Like right now, I am watching the baseball game with Rio.
9:46 pm on May 18th, 2012
Hi Dawson! Has anyone heard from Liz lately?
Wanted to ask Melanie if she had read Ice Palace Murders, but too late, she is TTFN.
We are signing off as well. Good night all.
9:51 pm on May 18th, 2012
Hello Plunderers!
I woke up this morning with a sticky note on my forehead from Belle Starr. It said that the Smoochers were catching the late blur to Rose and not to expect them back for a bit. There was a P.S. that said something about suspicions of AJ and Thor being the same person, but she would let me know after a trip to the movie with Rose.
It’s been quite a week which has left me lurking, but first things, first. We were honored with Stinky Mama informed us that the Storyteller was going to offer up prayers for the team. To name a dog after someone is an honor in our kennel. Yesterday when I met a certain dog, “His name is Leonard,” blurted out of my mouth before I knew it.
Unlike the Plunderers, I’ve been known to have moments of stupidity. I confused two deadlines this week on different projects and have put (and am putting) long hours to catch up for one of the projects. That was one problem this week.
Another problem, at least for us—SiberH has his paws full with a completely different challenge—is our vehicle situation. We poked it with a stick to see if it would move, but nature had other plans. Our Subaru has been on life support for the past year and half. We were hopeful that it would make it at least through July. It is D-E-A-D, dead. AJ and I have been scrambling with one car between us today and work obligations that stretch over 70 miles.
Update on the MMSB! Delivery trucks and men who lift with their knees and not their backs have been arriving all week at the MMSB.
10:16 pm on May 18th, 2012
Support!… I’m not sure the Spring Boutique, mighty as it is becoming, will fulfill both financial needs of Entrance Fee and new Car….grunt!… Rebecca, what are you guys planning on doing? Will you go buy another car somehow?….sniff!
Question!…This is just a feeler question for the Plunderers; Are there guys out there willing to form a New Wheels For the Giants team to help them out right now?….sniff!…I’m only asking because as you guys know, Rebecca does not air her financial woes very often, if at all. When she does, it is because the need is very great – this is the first I have heard about the car dying although, it has been sick for a long time…..grunt!….So this is why I am putting out the “feeler” question about forming a team….wuffle!
10:38 pm on May 18th, 2012
Answer!…No one has to answer all at once ….snort!…In fact, take some time, chew on it…heh!…Then email me at riotheevilpug@yahoo.com instead of answering here on the blog…grunt!
Base-of-Balls!…snort!… Because everyone is dying to know, the Rockies are once again losing 3 ta Nuthing…grump!fiddle!
10:56 pm on May 18th, 2012
Mobile!…I was just thinking…snort!…Too bad we can’t replicate the magical Wookie Mobile for Snowhook…heh!…It never breaks down, it never needs gas and it can travel huge distances in a blink of a bugged-out eye…chuffle!…It is quite the Ride….chorkel!
11:09 pm on May 18th, 2012
Maybe we can come up with some ideas, Rio. We can all think about it. I wonder if the Subaru can be fixed? It does sound seriously ill.
I had a small interruption in the baseball game but that didn’t matter because nothing had changed by the time I got back to it.
sigh, Seattle, sigh
I’m glad we heard from Rebecca because I was beginning to worry about her. I’m sorry they had such a difficult week. That one car business gets old quick
We are turning in.
Night All
11:10 pm on May 18th, 2012
SIBERH!…Did you see that guys cool shirt?…snort!snort!…It said “ROX ADDICT” on the back in big bold letters…heh!…My friend wants one of those shirts really bad now…grunt!
11:12 pm on May 18th, 2012
I didn’t see that shirt. I want one. I’d be afraid to go into one of those Rockies stores that sell all that stuff.
11:16 pm on May 18th, 2012
Over!…Game-over!…grump!…Rockie shut-out by the Mariners…growl!…Does it get any worse than this????…sob!sob!sob!
11:19 pm on May 18th, 2012
SOB!…SOB!SOB!SOB!SOB!SOB!SOB!…wheeze!….SOB!SOB!SOB!SOB!SOB!…sniffle!…Is this going to be yet another year lost? I’m tired of waiting till next year….dammit!….SOB!SOB!SOB!
11:35 pm on May 18th, 2012
You couldn’t have lost to a better team. Heh! What’s that Rose? She just told me I shouldn’t have said that. Sorry, Rio & Siber… Tomorrow, as they say, is another day.
(whispering) check your SDD, Rio.
11:42 pm on May 18th, 2012
Maskers!…Sadly, my SDD is a very lonely place right now…snuffle!…Devoid of anything from you too….grunt!
11:44 pm on May 18th, 2012
Well – it looks like we have missed everyone again. Rio and Siber are off sniffling in a corner, Barb and Maggie followed Melanie’s plan of heading off to bed. Dawson is worn out….
and we have been working on pottery while all the excitement has been going on.
Oh well – guess we will see you all tomorrow. Unless Rebecca is still burning the midnight oil…
11:46 pm on May 18th, 2012
Tupper!…Are you blind?…grunt!….Use the REFRESH button once in a while…dammit!
12:18 am on May 19th, 2012
Maskers!…Got the SDD finally!…snort!
Done!…Well, this week has been something, and it has not been a good one for someone here. Lots of past memories and regrets have been haunting her…sniff!…Although, I think that is all finally going to be put to rest now and each day will become the focus…sniff!…Not the past. Not what could have been, if only this or if only that. NO more Past interupting Today and Tomorrow….wuffle!..No more.
Goodnight!

Undeniably believe that which you stated. Your favourite justification seemed to be at the web the easiest factor to remember of. I say to you, I definitely get irked at the same time as people consider concerns that they just don’t know about. You controlled to hit the nail upon the highest and also outlined out the entire thing with no need side-effects , folks can take a signal. Will probably be again to get more. Thank you
