Ho! I’ve been gone for a while, but just finished Heart of Barkness and thought it was one of the very best. Extra points for the importance of the librarian here. One quibble – as an Arizona native (well, exile), I am aware of the distances between Phoenix and places like New Mexico or old Mexico. Many hours of travel to reach either, but you could maybe chalk that up to canine time dilation. Yesterday it was so hot that I flashed back a few decades and felt like I was back west. Today it is less awful and there is, supposedly, rain on the way.

Staff!…Friend put out her hummingbird feeder. A lovely green glass cylinder with a red bow tied onto it. It has 2+2 little drinking holes innit..snorkel!…She filled it partially with your sugar-water recipe and just recently the hummers have found it and drank it dry…yeeep!…So earlier today she cleaned it and filled it even fuller than before. We are hoping more hummers (the colorful ones) start stopping by for a quick cocktail!…chuffle!

Rio! That is great news. Hummers have been sort of sparse around here this summer. We see them occasionally but not all the time. 🙁
The sugar water disappears though so they must be sneaking in when we are not looking.

No, I’m really back. Just a bit older.
