Hockey: From Thereby Hangs A Tail
I’d been in the Metro Arena once, back before the hockey team left town, me and Bernie working on a case involving some crazed fan. Hockey: the strangest game I’ve ever seen, made no sense, plus all the fans turned out to be crazed and we maybe didn’t even end up finding the right one and clearing the case, which hardly ever happens. Also, I got to go on the ice, supposedly a treat. Ice! Once was enough, let me tell you. Plus the players smelled very bad and the puck was none too tasty.
(Go Bruins)
Welcome Friday Indiana and Rose’s Friend.

Good morning!
Crazed hockey fans! I turned off the news this morning because it was all about crazed hockey fans vandalizing Vancouver. What a bunch of idiots.
The best team won. Enjoy your scotch. Gloat. 🙂
9:37 am on June 16th, 2011
Chet: I totally agree with your assessment of hockey. Enjoy the bottle of malt whiskey (?) Admin.
Good morning all.

Hi Dawson and B: What is it about sports fans (particularly hockey fans) that turns them into marauding jerks? The Prof thinks it is because alcohol is served at sports events.
Melanie: I love both patches. They’re gorgeous. I do like the first patch best. Whatever patch is the final pick I would love to buy one.
Good Morning to Everyone!
9:48 am on June 16th, 2011
Fantastic news to begin the day. We are the Champions! (well, they are..)
It is a beautiful morning! Have a great day everyone! Hello, B & Dawson!
9:49 am on June 16th, 2011
And Rose! Going to read last the posts of last night…
9:59 am on June 16th, 2011
.Oh, oh. My canine friend has gone off the deep end. Bear! Weren’t you hoping Canada would win? At least I thought that’s what you said. The riots in Vancouver were because of a 4-0 loss, not win.
There he goes, oblivious to the truth of it. Hopefully, he’ll figure it out soon.
Both patches are beautiful!!! I like the first one the best as blue is my favorite color. Would like to buy one also.
Good Morning fellow Kats and Dogs!
10:07 am on June 16th, 2011
Patch!…I think whichever patch our Author decides on should have “Iditarod 2012” on it somewhere. Then it can be a commemorative patch after the big race is over!…heh!snort! ….I love the first one the most because it just looks like Alaska and what I imagine the race to be like….sniff!
10:08 am on June 16th, 2011
The Bruins won! That means my guys will be in good moods until the Red Sox lose again. Ups and downs. That is what sports are about.
Glad you guys liked the patches. Now if I can just get SOMEONE to make a decision.
Today is beautiful. I hope with the La Nina weather change the monsoons will start soon in AZ and NM. Put those fires out!
10:12 am on June 16th, 2011
There are only two eagles on the nest. One is screeching like mad and hopping about, getting right to the edge, but what take that last leap.
Tried to take a screen shot, but the eagle is moving too fast.
10:12 am on June 16th, 2011
Rio is right. I like the idea of adding the year on our patch.
We are going to have so much fun following the races!
10:12 am on June 16th, 2011
Hmmm, what on earth did I mean to write? I think it was won’t take that last leap.
10:14 am on June 16th, 2011
Wiener is supposed to resign today.
I am sorry to hear that.
NOT! What a sleaze ball.
10:31 am on June 16th, 2011
Rio: Brilliant idea about the ptach being a commemorative one!
Wolfie: I wish this whole Weinergate thing were over. I’m really tired of seeing his face (and body) plastered all over the news. To think that he would consider himself hot. YUCK!!
10:39 am on June 16th, 2011
My iPad is supposed to arrive today….
10:44 am on June 16th, 2011
Dear Dawson: My heartfelt apologies for the serious faux pas this morning. (what was I thinking – riot in the streets – they were so happy?) Remembering your famous last words, “I hope the fans behave themselves…”
If only there were some way we could do BOTH patches…An official one for the 2012 race (good idea, Rio!) We all are anxious to buy both versions, so this could be a big money-maker for Snowhook.
10:44 am on June 16th, 2011
I love the patches. Either one will be great and Rio is right on about having the year on it.
Hockey fans are nuts. Years ago, before Buffalo went national league, Mom was at a game they played against Cleveland. The whole auditorium was rocking as the rioting fans were trying to break into the Cleveland dressing room. Buffalo was known around the league as “The Zoo.”
11:06 am on June 16th, 2011
Good morning!
Melanie, we love the patches. The first one is probably our favorite, because thats the way we had imagined it….Chet watching from afar as Snowhook races.
Can’t wait to buy one.
11:09 am on June 16th, 2011
Hey, y’all! I snuck on the computer real quick when Dad wasn’t looking, and there was my picture right on top! I’m so excited! I’m pondering whether we could do one patch this year with 2012 on it, then do the other patch next year with 2013 on it. That way we don’t have to decide!
11:16 am on June 16th, 2011
Those of you with iPaws . . . My job today is to understand how Pages works especially with the external keyboard. When I’m typing a word wrong, it does the “guess the word” thing. The only way I seem to select that word is if I hit the period button. Then it corrects the word, but it also types the period. Am I missing something here?
11:24 am on June 16th, 2011
Melanie – When the iPaw gives a word, it has a little x with it. If you want that word, you can just enter a space or a period. If that’s not the word you want, press the x to make it go away and continue typing the word you want.
11:34 am on June 16th, 2011
Last night as I was driving home from work, still Wednesday for me and Thursday for most of you I heard a story on the radio about the Canada hockey fans burning cars as a result of the loss. My first thought was, “Oh, Dawson not again.” 🙂
I am excited to see which patch is picked! There is so much to look forward to with the Plunderers—patches, the auction, the cookbook, so much!
11:36 am on June 16th, 2011
Oh! Auction items are coming in from the Plunderers. Thanks to the Oley Howlers, Rio and Gus & BB!
11:41 am on June 16th, 2011
I wonder what a hockey puck is made of? Boston sure outplayed Vancouver.
When the Texas Rangers lost the World Series last fall, the fans didn’t behave badly.
Whichever patch you guys decide on will be more than fine with me. I will order more than one so mom and I don’t fight over it. Thanks to Melanie and T&G’s mom for all the hard work they put into creating the patches.
We are going up to the village of Jemez in the mountains today. Mom has promised me we will stop along the road for some of that delish food made by Jemez Pueblo in their beautiful red rock canyon. Oh yeah, and it is cooler up there.

Please send good thoughts and prayers today for the firefighters in the Southwest. The conditions for the fires are suppose to be 95 to 109 degress, 35 mph winds, and 5 percent humidity…extreme fire weather

SiberH!…I sure wish I was with SiberH today….snort!…Out camping in the mountains, or whatever he and his gal do during their trips….sniff! sob!….I need a vacation. …gasp!
11:52 am on June 16th, 2011
Hi all. Just dropping by before running errands and I noticed George up there on the friends of Chet. Wouldn’t it be a trip if he was the next FOC? Alice would be seriously annoyed!

11:55 am on June 16th, 2011
Siber-H: We were thinking about you this morning and wondering how you are doing. It’s good you are getting away above the heat and smoke, at least for a little while. We are praying the fires are soon under control.
Rose! Is that your friend I see in Friends of Chet this morning?
12:31 pm on June 16th, 2011
Siber-H: Enjoy your mountain trek. I think and worry about you and any others who are in the path of those fires every day. I pray for the safety of the firefighters as well. It’s just terrible to see this on the news.
Hi Bear!
Yes, that is my friend Zelda. She is the dog I met when the Prof and I went away a couple of weekends ago. (Whispering) Do you think that’s cheating on my part since she realy isn’t mine?) I really wish she was….
12:43 pm on June 16th, 2011
Rose: I think that was a wonderful idea to post Zelda’s photo as your Friend of Chet! With your adopted dog, now you are officially in the contest!
1:17 pm on June 16th, 2011
Bee, Barb here. Leaving the office in a few minutes to finally send off your package. Be looking for it by Saturday.
If I get any late, late recipes, I will mail in a small envelope.
1:50 pm on June 16th, 2011
Hey y’all. Heven’t been around too much lately. Kind of a busy time down here on the farm. But I wanted to put my two cents in too, even though I’m just a newcomer.
I would be right proud to wear either one of those patches. I think what y’all are doin’ for that Snowhook Kennel is an amazing thing. You send in personal donations, cookbook recipes, auction donations and buy patches. And all because the story of Snowhook touched y’all’s hearts. Its an honor to be a part of your family.
Jest wanted y’all to know that.
1:51 pm on June 16th, 2011
150 people were hospitalized in Vancouver due to the riots.
Dogs would never behave so badly.
We are superior in so many ways.
1:58 pm on June 16th, 2011
And Kats are even more superior. Just ask us
2:12 pm on June 16th, 2011
Thank you Redbone. Glad you’ve joined us.
Barb: I’ll be expecting the package.
2:18 pm on June 16th, 2011
Bear: You are so wise.
Thanks!!
2:45 pm on June 16th, 2011
There is an 8-yr old Siberian Husky named DAWSON up for adoption at our local Siberian Rescue. Lived his entire 8 years on a chain. Never indoors.
2:52 pm on June 16th, 2011
Rebecca: I sent my auction item description to you via email.
3:35 pm on June 16th, 2011
Thanks, B!
More auction news! My boss who is the talented crafty sort saw on our facebookie that we are having the auction. She met me in my office upset that I didn’t ask her to donate an item. I told her that I didn’t because She is so busy and has been traveling for work. I told her that I’d love for her to donate. “Good, because I started something last night,” she said as she walked out of my office.
Auction items are coming in from Plunderers near and far including the ARC. I’m finding it hard to determine the starting bid for the Snowhook items, but what about the ARC? Any ideas? Oh, to have a peek at The Dog who Knew Too Much is enough to blow my non-pug mind.
3:38 pm on June 16th, 2011
Uh oh. Mama is spitting mad. One of
Her co workers just called in “sick” for the whole weekend. And her other coworker who takes the next shift called in to say she would be late AGAIN. She does this at least once a week
Grrrrr
(sorry -just had to vent)
3:39 pm on June 16th, 2011
ARC!….You mean Spencer didn’t specify a starting bid?…grump!…What about a Minimum Bid? Did he specify a minimum bid?….grunt!
3:39 pm on June 16th, 2011
O.Howlers: What a sad story of that poor Husky! It breaks our heart to hear of such bad treatment of our kind. I hope that dog is adopted by a forever family and will live out the rest of its days enjoying life.
Wolfie: You are so right! Dogs would never behave so badly. Those fans have given the game an even worse reputation than it already has.
3:47 pm on June 16th, 2011
Dawson! What’s going on with the Canadian Postal Service? I heard they were on strike about a week ago and now have gotten notice the offices are closed as of yesterday. They are saying only Global Express is allowed.
4:03 pm on June 16th, 2011
Rio: Easy, easy (that’s a command we use with the team when we slow down). Spence is not to blame. Snort and grump at me and my inabilty to type using the small keyboard on my phone as fast as I think.
I haven’t recieved the ARC description yet, but I know I’m having difficulty determining bids for the Snowhook items, I couldn’t think of trying to determine the bidding information for the ARC, but maybe we could give Spence some ideas like those geven to Gus and BooBear about the jacket.
Did I over step bounds? —I hope not. Did I get the Pug snorting, wheezing and huffing at me? —gulp.
4:15 pm on June 16th, 2011
Rebeccer!…The thought of Spencer sending in his Auction Item with no Description is what had me going….snort!… It doesn’t surprise me that you have not received anything from him yet. After all that celebrating last night, he is probably still in Hudson
4:22 pm on June 16th, 2011
TheRest! …he is probably still in Hudson, MA sleeping it off in a gutter somewhere….grunt! …. Or in jail waiting to be bailed out for setting cars on fire…heh!
4:32 pm on June 16th, 2011
The starting bid means the item won’t be sold for less. If it starts too high, people won’t bid. That said, like the beautiful leather jacket, a $35 starting bid should get it kicked off, then maybe $3 increments. People will have fun, not be intimidated, and hope to get a bargain. It can get fast and furious near the end when people are waiting to pounce.
The description can say what the estimated value is – even more reason to try for a bargain.
4:36 pm on June 16th, 2011
Increments of $1 or $2 can add to the fun for the bidders. They tend to bid more freely because it’s a small amount.
4:36 pm on June 16th, 2011
Rio: Do you think we need to hold another auction to raise funds to bail Spence from jail?
4:37 pm on June 16th, 2011
ARC!… Should the starting bid for the ARC be 35.00?…snort!…Or would this be intimidating?…sniff!
4:46 pm on June 16th, 2011
To celebrate my 100th post, I had my blog published in booklet format by SharedBook (Google’s Blogspot publisher apparently). They do a nice job. I chose a picture for the cover (the one from my easy chair) and my picture on the back. It was under $15–of course, there are only 57 pages. Anyway, I wanted to tell you that I dedicated it “To the Plunderers.”
4:48 pm on June 16th, 2011
I think $35 is cheap for the ARC. It’s an ARC afterall…from a long-published author and I assume it will be signed and possibly dedicated.
4:52 pm on June 16th, 2011
Ummm!…If it started at 35.00 then everyone would get a crack at it, don’t you think?…snort!… What price would you set the Starting Bid at then?…sneeze!
4:56 pm on June 16th, 2011
I’d set the starting bid for the ARC at at least $50.
5:12 pm on June 16th, 2011
Bear, we hate hearing about our kind spending their lives on a chain. No interaction. To top that, he has injuries that are obvious kicks, etc.
Canadian Postal Service issues…hmmmm. Could it have anything to do with the mentality of the Vancouver bad fans?
5:23 pm on June 16th, 2011
Did anyone else read The Search? Someone on here recommended it and that is why we checked it out from the library. Wanted to make a few comments, if anyone else is interested or has read it. We have read 360 of the 485 pages so far.
5:36 pm on June 16th, 2011
Barb: I have The Search on my Kindle but haven’t read it yet.
5:38 pm on June 16th, 2011
Congrats, B!
5:42 pm on June 16th, 2011
Published!…You can publish a Blog? Who knew? …heh!….I sure hope my friend isn’t on it making a fool of herself again…grunt! …Some people should just stay away from blogs. ..sniff!
5:55 pm on June 16th, 2011
Rio: One does not make a fool of one’s self by making comments or asking questions or answering questions on a blog (or in class, or…). That’s the way analysis begins.
6:09 pm on June 16th, 2011
Rio: I have used the word narry a few times since your friend wrote it in an email a couple of nights ago. It’s a fun word.
Ideas! Ideas! I just started getting ideas of some stories for tonights class—if only I had the time too write before then. I’m nervous for the writing workshop tonight so if I start to feel foolish for asking questions because everyone else is a Spencer Quinn, I’m just going to say, “According to B Stover…”
6:23 pm on June 16th, 2011
Love that… “According to B.Stover…”
or WWBSD
6:41 pm on June 16th, 2011
Hey, y’all! Mom’s home from work and my girl’s home from college. That means we’re all together now — all is right with the world!!!
6:56 pm on June 16th, 2011
WWBSD Love that! Think it all the time.
Bee, I probably would not be reading this Nora Roberts, if it wasn’t so filled with dog info. She writes very accurately about dog behavior and dog training. The SAR stuff is very interesting. That being said, I don’t much care for some of the conversations between the 2 main characters. I suspose it is meant to be hip, but at times it seems rude to me. The swearing I don’t mind, but I cringe when someone tells another person to “Shut Up”. What do you think?
7:00 pm on June 16th, 2011
O.Howlers: Canadian Postal Strike – either the bad fans or possibly the Marauding Goats.heh, heh
B: That is great news about the blog in a book version. Did you pay $15 for one copy? Will it be an auction item?
Rio: The signed ARC is a valued item, but starting at $35 would make it fun for all. As MollyPop says, more people would have the opportunity to bid on it.
Barb&Maggie: Haven’t read The Search, but am requesting it from the library.
7:01 pm on June 16th, 2011
Whooee. Just received a picture of Wöökie’s entry into the auction! WOW!
So as your auction item gets done, send it to me and I’ll send it back.
COOKBOOK! I will be snail mailing the CD with all the primped and sized pictures to LizF on MONDAY! Are we all done now?
Will list everyone tomorrow.
7:05 pm on June 16th, 2011
I was not with it when WWBSD was discussed. What does that mean?
YSAS!! SATURDAY! Background work in MIB3! Zoë is so excited. He’s going to be an international tourist. I think he’ll still have the goatee. He has to have only the mustache for BWE on Monday or Tuesday.
Whew, got a lot done today. Learning Dan’s iPaw to teach him. Went to acupuncture (with you there Wöökie!). Down the hill to do errands. Back and watched “How To Train Your Dragon”. Great movie.
7:06 pm on June 16th, 2011
Thanks MollyPop! That makes life easier.
7:11 pm on June 16th, 2011
Melanie: WWBSD? Means “What Would Bee Stover Do?”
7:13 pm on June 16th, 2011
Especially grammatically speaking, of course! Not sure if it applies to all other facets of life!!!
7:13 pm on June 16th, 2011
Or maybe it does!!!
7:14 pm on June 16th, 2011
What does WWBSD mean?
Kirby: Nice to have your girl home I know. All’s right with the world when family is together safe and sound.
SnowBella: Don’t be nervous about the class. You are a wonderful writer! We are looking forward to the published word.
7:25 pm on June 16th, 2011
My heart breaks for the Husky named Dawson. Grrrrr!
The Canadian Post Office is on strike. They were doing rolling strikes in a few different cities each day so as not to disrupt anyone too much, but then the bosses “locked them out” and closed the Post Offices. Haven’t seen the news because I’ve “locked out” those stations due to nothing but crapola.
Where is Jasper ABP?
Siber H: Sending almost Arctic cold thoughts down to the firefighters.
Snowhook Bella: Have fun at your class tonight. There are those of us who think you should be the teacher.
By the Way and Correct me if I’m Wrong: The patches are not a fundraiser for Snowhook. They are a Chet the Dog Production that Snowhook has agreed to wear on their jackets during the Iditarod and which are being made available to Chet’s fans. Right?
7:25 pm on June 16th, 2011
Rebecca: You have the talent so there is nothing to be nervous about. Just do it!
7:27 pm on June 16th, 2011
WWBSD: What Would B Stover Do? I love it!
Melanie & Zoe! I am so excited for you! YsuccessfulS is getting lots of work these days. Soon we will say “I knew him when…”
Nana’s a nervous wreck searching for the auction article – seems there’s a piece missing. We may have to go with something else. One more week, right?
7:42 pm on June 16th, 2011
B, congratulations on the booklet. I also wondered if it was going to be an auction item.
OH – please keep us updated about the future for that poor dog, if you hear where he ends up. I wish he could come live with me.
Yay YSAS!! and thanks Melanie, i’m looking forward to getting the disk.
7:51 pm on June 16th, 2011
Barb: I haven’t started The Search yet but from your description it sounds as though some of the conversations may not be very realistic. Roberts apparently does well with descriptions of dogs but not with people.
8:05 pm on June 16th, 2011
Since anyone could go online and read my blog, I don’t think anyone would want to buy a it in booklet format. I just bought one copy for the fun of it…..and because I always feel more secure with hardcopies.
8:12 pm on June 16th, 2011
Rebecca, Good luck with the class, you will be outstanding!
Kirby, Enjoy the time with your family all together.
Bee, Maybe I am being too harsh about The Search. I am enjoying it, just find some of the dialog a little “offputting”. Wish someone else had read it. Who recommended it in the first place?
Have to go grill a steak. Just had a wilted lettuce salad with leaf lettuce and red onion from the garden. Hot, sweet bacon dressing with crumbled bacon on top. Yummers!
8:28 pm on June 16th, 2011
Kirby T: Originally WWBSD was intended for grammatical and literary purposes. However, in a pinch I think the principle can be applied to many areas of life.
*Please note: WWRTEPD is best applied when pursuing global domination.
8:29 pm on June 16th, 2011
Barb: Sounds like a delish salad. I don’t remember who already read The Search.
8:31 pm on June 16th, 2011
What is WWRTEPD?? See…I know English/literature and that’s it.
8:38 pm on June 16th, 2011
B: We agree with the “security of hard copies”. I think your booklet would make a fine auction item.
Kirby: Earlier you mentioned those fleeting thoughts that come, but must be written down or they will slip away into never-never land. In that twilight time between waking and sleep, good ideas do seem to present themselves. You tell yourself how could you possibly forget, but you do.
Dawson: Patches for Plunders! Yes! I do hope we can do both versions for purchase. The designers may not have envisioned mass production..tee,hee
Hi Liz! Wish we could adopt that Husky too. Of course, if we had our way it would be Animal Farm around here.
8:46 pm on June 16th, 2011
B Stover: WWRTEPD? Stands for What Would Rio The Evil Pug Do? WWBSD seems to roll off the tongue a bit easier 🙂
8:46 pm on June 16th, 2011
I downloaded The Search and then read it again. I forgot we had the hardcopy. I’m telling you the brain is just slightly attached to this body.
LOVED the training and the SAR writing. Good research. I can understand why the female main character is the way she is, but I wouldn’t have put up with the male character around me! Hate rudeness. . .
Awesome Dawson: The sled patch and team patches are paid by other than us. Those of us who want patches need to figure out exactly how many and how to do the money. I think there will be one run (every thing done at the same time).
I hear you about the Iditarod and 2012.
Siber-H: wish we could send you some of this rain. I looked at the weather channel and they weren’t being very hopeful. Of course, they
are usuallycan be wrong.B.Stover: I think that’s great about your blog book. Something to hold in your hands.
Kirby T. I believe that might hold true in many aspects of life!
8:49 pm on June 16th, 2011
Rebecca’s writing
Creates mind pictures
Of loving bonds between all.
Good luck Bella!
8:50 pm on June 16th, 2011
Hey Bear, i’m with you – ooooh to have a little place in the country where I could have lots and lots of dogs. (Cricket would not be impressed!!) No kats though – nothing personal, I’m allergic.
8:50 pm on June 16th, 2011
Oh wow! all three eagles have left the nest!
8:57 pm on June 16th, 2011
Patches: I believe we all want at least one of each version. Some of us want more than one.
8:59 pm on June 16th, 2011
Melanie: Not bad writing yourself!
9:01 pm on June 16th, 2011
Bear: I did indeed write down everything I came up with last night…or more properly early this morning. So now I don’t have to worry about remembering it. That’s good, because when I woke up this morning I remembered the general idea, but not the specific wording, which is not a problem because I — luckily! — have it in writing! I’m glad I didn’t just roll over and go to sleep — every once in awhile I do something right!!!
9:10 pm on June 16th, 2011
Only one, only one will be picked. Sorry. We can save the other one for the next time.
(the “only one” is a take off from Bill Cosby’s Noah’s Ark “only two, only two”)
Time to hit the hay! Have to turn everything off completely. Storms coming through later.

We’re baaack
I am thankful that Dawson has been rescued from those deplorable living conditions. I am sure he will be adopted into a forever home. Husky Rescue here has had dogs like that and they have been adopted even if they are really shy from having no life experiences.
Good luck on your writing class, Rebecca. We know you will shine. All of us are in agreement with Stover…You have talent!
9:14 pm on June 16th, 2011
WWRTEPD!…heh!…You don’t want to go there…snort!
Auction!…Yeah! Agent Kirby has an Auction Item….woooo!… I will bid on all my Agents Items, that’s for sure…heh!… I may not have enough money to win them but I will raise the price along the way…snorkel!
9:18 pm on June 16th, 2011
Comcasted!…We are still dealing with Comcast tonight…grunt!…The gal on the Tech Support said she would call us back 20 minutes ago…wuffle!…No phone call as of yet. We’ve been waiting 40 plus minutes and my friend has not had supper yet because of this dilemmal…wheeze!… I find that funny in a “ha ha” sort of way though…heh!
Writing!..Rebeccer will do just fine tonight!…sniff!..She will shine, shine, shine…heh!
9:25 pm on June 16th, 2011
Rio: The other day we were watching a show when all of a sudden it froze. We checked all the other stations and they all were just fine — just the one we wanted to watch was no good. Figures, doesn’t it?! Dad kept turning back to that channel — by the time it finally got fixed, the show we were watching was over, of course!

Rebecca
I am going to tell you what my auction item is. I do not have a photo because if I make it, I will eat it. And that is bad for my hips!
I am donating two batches (apples 7 lbs) of Wolfie’s Yummy Toffee. I will ship it anywhere and any time. (although it is temperature sensitive.) The toffee will be packaged in the cutest boxes I can find.
9:50 pm on June 16th, 2011
Okay, Borzoi, I missed you.
9:51 pm on June 16th, 2011
Dang Auto correct! Approximately 7 lbs! The toffee contains no apples!
9:51 pm on June 16th, 2011
I missed you Natasha. It was just this afternoon I was wondering where you were.
9:52 pm on June 16th, 2011
Nattie! Of course I missed you! (blush)
9:54 pm on June 16th, 2011
I can’t remember, did I start a tradition with Wolfie’s Christmas toffee or was it a one time event?
Pondering…..
10:02 pm on June 16th, 2011
Wolfie!…Please use the Description Format and email Snowhook kennels with your Auction Item with Openin Bid and so on. A Photo of the really cute boxes would be nice, maybe necessary….grunt!…This photo must be sent to Melanie first for special sizing and enhancing… YOU ARE NOT SPECIAL!…sniff!….Do as everyone else has to do….dammit!….You’ve been here long enough to read all the Auction prelim rules…grump!
10:16 pm on June 16th, 2011
Tashie, I totally missed you – but know that you’re generally doing secret mysterious work and are not to be distoibed in case your cover is blown.
10:22 pm on June 16th, 2011
Ah yes, and there is my little grumpy Commander Rio. Please, my wrinkly leetle spugnik – do not scold at the Volfie. You are just put out because others also admire your Natasha.
MollyPop – is nice you think of Natasha. Ve do not have very many lady friends for some reason. Of course, vith you being elegant yet fierce Poodly dog, you understand vhat it is to be glamourous undercover Borzoi.
Rebecca, ve vish you good vith writing class. But ve know you vill be big success. Ve love the stories you tell of doggies. Soon, maybe ve will have another famous author on blog.
10:25 pm on June 16th, 2011
Liz – please, vhat is “distoibed’? Is Australia part of Brooklyn United States?
Also, ve need to talk about bidding var. Is the Frobisher still on the table?
10:29 pm on June 16th, 2011
Rules!…Wolfie is no Exception! He needs to follow the rules or not be in the Auction…grump!…Where the hell has he been for that last month or so when we were discussing all this stuff? …grunt! …Get with it Wolfie, if you don’t know the Rules, then some one else can help you out with all of that…snuff!…And if your gal cries, it’s not my fault. Its YOURS for not paying attention!…grumble!
10:38 pm on June 16th, 2011
Ok, Rio, I hear you. I humbly withdraw my auction item.
10:42 pm on June 16th, 2011
Nefarious Natasha: Better safe than sorry. I would like to have an Arc…just in case. I missed you also.
10:47 pm on June 16th, 2011
NO Volfie – NO! Ve MUST have your toffee!!!
Ve vill help you vith description and other parts if you vish.
Rio – you stop being bully, or Natasha vill not have more candlelight dinners in your backyard vith you!
10:50 pm on June 16th, 2011
I was developing a new cover in case anyone was monitoring your transmissions. So much for that!
Refresh my memory, Frobisher was on the table vs your cheapo hat for the honour of Siber’s presence at a date with Cricket, correct? or vas it Volfie?
10:53 pm on June 16th, 2011
It wasn’t me. My heart belongs to Sam, although sometimes Nattie has been known to turn my head. She is mighty fine!
10:55 pm on June 16th, 2011
Wolfie, Please take nattie up on her offer, your mama’s toffee is too good to take it away from us. Sob, sniffle.
Good night, all. Will be back early tomorrow.
10:55 pm on June 16th, 2011
Wolfie! No!
10:56 pm on June 16th, 2011
Oh yes, and we were wondering what distoibled means. It does sound like a New York accent.
11:02 pm on June 16th, 2011
Withdrawn!…Oh Brother!…grunt!
11:06 pm on June 16th, 2011
Natasha!…heh!snort!heh!….In My Wildest Dreams we would be having candlelight dinners ….wuffle!…Her mother would be circling around dousing all fire with water as we tried to eat…sniff!…She’s call the “Guy-Catcher” on you…hooo!
11:10 pm on June 16th, 2011
Correction!…She would call the Guy-Catcher on you …heh!
Wolfie!…So instead of following the rules like everyone else has been doing, Wolfie would rather Withdraw his Auction Item…hmmm…This sounds very suspicious to me….snort!
11:11 pm on June 16th, 2011
Rules…made to be broken aren’t they?
11:14 pm on June 16th, 2011
Wolfie, I am planning on bidding on the toffee without mom knowing about it. She hid last year’s Christmas toffee from me.
Night All
Borzoi, That was nice of you to offer to help Wolfie.
11:22 pm on June 16th, 2011
Siber – – you see, Natasha is truly vonderful and sveet.
Rio – your friend’s mother vould never catch Natasha vith “Guy Catcher” – Natasha is very much all female!
Liz – CHEAPO hat???? Now you have challenged Natasha to bidding var. Prepare yourself my friend!
Volfie – ve vill forgive you for being in love vith the adorable little Sam. She is Princess after all.
And do not even think of keeping that toffee for yourself! You must keep in auction. Natasha has plans for toffee to bribe certain cooking book designer.
11:23 pm on June 16th, 2011
Wolfie: Since toffee shouldn’t be sent in the heat of summer, why don’t you just wait until the cold weather comes back and send the toffee to those of us who want some like you did last year, only this time with the stipulation that a donation be made to Snowhook for the toffee. After all, there is no panic since that generous person donated the entry fee. Snowhook will need donations in the cold months as well as now. Also, people are sometimes more generous closer to the holidays. And…we don’t really want those facebookie guys getting the toffee. Do we?

Double dog dammit. I thought we we over the nonsense of “some dog” being rude. Being grumpy is one thing, but there is no cause for rudeness. Somebody needs to follow the golden rule.
nuff said
11:25 pm on June 16th, 2011
Please ignore the double D.
11:26 pm on June 16th, 2011
Rules!… For the Auction Will NOT be broken! Or this whole thing will be a freakin’ joke….grump!… We have these rules so that the Ones who are working behind the scenes putting this thing together don’t go totally crazy…dammit! …Now if youse out there doing NOTHING think you can do a better job, well go ahead. Just jump right in. Right now….grump!
11:32 pm on June 16th, 2011
Nonsense!….Please explain the “nonsense” Minpin…snort! …In regard to the Auction, that is and the Rules that have been set forth previously, that no one has disagreed with. I’d really like to hear that tonight….sniff!
11:33 pm on June 16th, 2011
Oh my dear little Rio – Natasha vill tickle your chin and give you baseball toys, ok. So stop grump. Ve vill fix things.
Auction is for the benefit of our adopted little sister Rebecca and her vonderful AJ and lovely doggies. Ve will make auction be good thing.
Is ok if some do not know how to do things as vell as others. Ve are all in this together…ve all share joy in vatching the Snowhook succeed. So ve vill all help each other vith making it good.
Even if Liz vants to auction off tacky Frobisher hat.
11:39 pm on June 16th, 2011
Please friends – not to fight, ok?
Volfie – please check in vith Melanie tomorrow and ask her to give you Natasha’s decoder code. Ve vill vork on your presentation.
11:40 pm on June 16th, 2011
I think Dawson has a really good suggstion about how to do the toffee and the money for it would go to Snowhook. I agree with her that we don’t want facebookie getting any toffee.
I’m really going to sleep now.
11:46 pm on June 16th, 2011
Ah, Natasha, you’ve observed my achilles heel…
11:46 pm on June 16th, 2011
Toffee!…Even though I have not tasted it, I definitely do not want those facebookie guys getting anything of ours…grunt!…Especially Wolfie’s Toffee…. Sniff!…Wolfie, its getting close to the Auction and nerves are getting frazzled. So please bear with me and submit to the rules, unless you want to take Dawson’s fine advice and offer your Toffee later for a donation to Snowhook…grunt!…This is an excellent idea. Maybe there is something we all can do later in the year for donations in the winter time….wuffle!
Bed!…Is calling my name so off I go. Up Up Up those long stairs….huffle!…To my soft bed that is nice and cool tonight because of a cold front moving in…wooooooo!
11:46 pm on June 16th, 2011
TACKY??????????????
11:46 pm on June 16th, 2011
Me too.
Sleep.
Thank you, Natasha.
Goodnight All.
11:47 pm on June 16th, 2011
I know that I want some of Wolfie’s toffee. It was super delish. Staff just loved hers although her parents ate most of it.
So we like Dawson’t idea of a special cooler toffee making too. Although it wouldn’t be bad to have it twice (Staff is greedy about it) If Wolfie is able to do that.
SO YUMMY IN THE TUMMY!
11:48 pm on June 16th, 2011
Natasha!…She will help Wolfie fix things…heh!heh!…Oh my.
11:49 pm on June 16th, 2011
Oh, And Rio. You are mad at Comcast so don’t take it out on us. Chill little pugster, chill.
We really didn’t need a demo of WWRTEPD tonight.
11:54 pm on June 16th, 2011
Rio – vas very nice you make nice talk to Volfie. Ve know you vork so hard on auction. Vill be good. Go to sleep now little pugster. Dream happy dreams of Rockies vinning Stanley Cup, ok?
Liz – yes…TACKY!
12:01 am on June 17th, 2011
You just keep thinking that, Tasho. I’ll book Cricket into the dogwash so she can get ready for the Siberdate.
12:19 am on June 17th, 2011
Liz – -in spirit of detante, vhat vould you think of joining bid forces and going on the double date vith Siber the PlayDog? Maybe that vould teach him not to play vith female hearts.
hmmmm?
Or do you think ve vould scare poor little puppy vith two such glamourous ladies?
12:34 am on June 17th, 2011
If Natasha will help Wolfie, we think the toffee will make a great auction item and the second idea of making a donation to Snowhook when we get our Christmas toffee (yes, Wolfie, we would LOVE to have that as a yearly tradition) is great! That toffee was fantastic! Mom didn’t share with anyone.
Barb, we were the one that just finished The Search and recommended it to everyone because of the dog information and the search and rescue stories. Mom started out a romance reader and although the male character was abrupt and rude, she still really enjoyed the book.
12:35 am on June 17th, 2011
We, too, hope the Rockies win the Stanley cup, and maybe American Idol too. Tashie, you make our day!
12:39 am on June 17th, 2011
Poodled up! he-he We have not had anyone mention getting poodled up in a while. It is our very favorite expression. Can mean getting your ruff to stand on end, OR getting all dolled up. Good all-purpose word.
To whomever asked, mom is now just taking basic Excel and all the formulas and charts and such are cluttering up her brain. She saved them all on her thumb drive, so why can’t she delete them from said brain?
12:45 am on June 17th, 2011
Oh and Kirby, my little southern gentleman, mom wishes that she could come by and help with the papers. She LOVES organizing OTHER peoples stuff, lol. She also sorts things. Like buttons and anything else she can find. Lovesss sorting. Tomorrow is another day at Beacon House Resale Shop. Mom gets very excited when any donations come in, especially when it is assorted “treasures”. One of her co-volunteers thinks everything is junk, but she does not realize how many people collect “interesting” items. She threw a vintage hat complete with hatbox away. “Nobody wears hats anymore”. That is not the point, IOHO. It is now sitting on our fireplace waiting for it’s forever home.

I’m beginning to think we should forget the date and meet in Paris for a Girl’s Night Out – shopping, cocktails, the private jet?
12:46 am on June 17th, 2011
Ve vish you all good night – Natasha does need her beauty sleep, even if most of her gorgeousness is natural.
Tomorrow is other day.
12:50 am on June 17th, 2011
Last check in – Liz -you are on! Who needs males? They only pee on bushes and dig holes. Literal and figurative.
Ve girls vill drink champagne and flirt vith Paris men – they vill fall madly in love vith us, and ve vill valk avay, vith a sving in our hips, and never look back.
Sounds like too much fun.
1:07 am on June 17th, 2011
I’m so in!!
