Good morning! Yippee!!! Finally, the Pope recognizes what the Members of the Nation, and our human partners, have known all along. Of course, this proclamation will be enough for the powers in Rome to want to excommunicate Francis (what a great name !!!)

Regarding the headline of the article,

I’m sure glad that dogs now have his permission to go to Heaven.

Any Heaven that ain’t got dogs, I don’t want no part of.

Good morning, OH, Buddy and Leno and everybody! Of course dogs go to heaven! And thank Dog for that.
BooBear, that is one Handsome Howie.Quite a hound and might give Redbone Hound a “run” for his money.
AJ’s post from last night was sort of encouraging. At least they have had some snow. Gah! Only 87 days on the Iditarod countdown.
Have a frisky Friday all 🙂

HOH: Handsome Howie is right! I will have to read AJ’s post from Canada.

Some people take that stuff seriously. I think dogs live on as much as any of us, if only in memory and spirit. But then my beliefs are a little unconventional.
    Good morning all.

Howie is adorable. Don’t worry, BooBear. It will all work out.

AJ, Thanks for the update. We are praying for a good year of snow and cold for you and the dogs.

Staff, aren’t kittens fun??!! About this time last year, Dad brought home a mother cat and her 3 kittens (all boys). They are over a year now and “fixed” but they still romp and stomp like there is no tomorrow. Mom is putting up the tree this weekend so it will be interesting to see if she ends up with any holes.

BooBear, The last time I looked Keiko was hanging on the branches with both front paws and dangling over the table edge. I am sure glad it is decorated with curling ribbon and not with glass ornaments.

Alice came out of her closet yesterday afternoon and hid behind Dad’s chair in the living room. That is a big step forward for her.

Blondie has discovered weaknesses in the bottom of the fence, digs out and does “walkabouts”. She scares mom silly but does come home when she is tired, thirsty and hungry. Mom is losing what little mind she has left. Tomorrow is “fix the bottom of the fence” day. Hope the little mutt mouth hangs around for it. There are only so many rocks/bricks we can haul to fill in the holes.
Perhaps Mr. Siber H could show how fun it is to dig in the MIDDLE of the yard!

HOH, Mom has had to do the rocks, bricks, and so forth for different dogs in her life. Concrete blocks work well.
I really do dig in the middle of the yard or around the foundation of the house. I have never tried to dig out, which mom is eternally thankful for. Send Blondie to me and I will put her on the payroll and show her how a professional does it.

It’s party week here in Chevy Chase, which keeps Teddy RR very busy. On Wednesday, Debbie’s quilt guild had their annual Christmas lunch at our house, with about 45 quilters in attendance. And tomorrow is our big annual Christmas party dinner. I will try to post a photo of the table decorations later, and I have copied the menu below. Debbie has once again outdone herself. Note that the celery root puree is made from celeriac, picture of which were posted last night.

Oh my – we will be heading for Maryland too. Oh my.

Staff and BooBear and anyone else having kitty issues. When we took Cubbins to the v e t yesterday, he did have a scratch on his nose. Basil is still rather unhappy about the intruder. The vet suggested a couple of things. First off, she said to add a litter box – no matter how many or how big we already had, just add one for now.
And second – she told us to go the pet store and get a “feliway diffuser” – they dispense feline pheromones and are supposed to calm stressful situations for cats. We got two for the house – one upstairs, one down. They also have a spray that you can apply directly to a carrying cage or in a closed room.
The vet swear they will make a difference – we know that they are a little pricey at the pet store, but they are much cheaper on amazon.
    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00I9SI40S/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER
We have all paws crossed here. We have noticed that Basil and Sage seem to be hanging out in the rooms that have the diffusers.

Tupper’s Mama, We don’t usually have a problem, perhaps since there are so many of us. Everybody ends up buds. It just takes a little time. We had heard that about adding an extra catbox. Sometimes that will be the intimidation technique. Either not let the new cat in the box or trap him there.
