Good morning here I am while the sun is up! I had to get up to check on my patient. When I brought her breakfast, she got up on all fours and has been staring at it for 10 minutes now. At least she can stand.

We are still having some snow, and the temps tomorrow will be sub-zero, with -30 wind chill. Ain’t spring yet! However, February is now half gone, which is a good thing.
Reading Keep Quiet, by Lisa Scottoline. She said in her remarks that she will write one novel a year, featuring her all girl law firm. Those are her best, IMHO. Teddy, I know your pa is a fan of L.S. Did he read Keep Quiet? We give it a thumbs up. Also have the 2nd Miss Julia sitting here to be ready next. It is titled Miss Julia Takes Over.

B&M&L, not quite finished but are enjoying it. A good mixture of humor, a sassy mouth (mom likes that), and plot movement (it rolls right along). Our branch library doesn’t have all of them but the library system does so we’ll order the ones as we need them.

We are getting snow today and tonight, but nothing like the blizzard that will be hitting Tupper and Gilly and The Wrottens. Sheesh!!! What are you guys doing with all that snow?
We are getting very cold temps with high winds though. For tonight/tomorrow: Winds Saturday night and Sunday will cause snow to blow/drift and cause near blizzard/whiteout conditions at times. Northwest winds are expected to be sustained 20-30mph, with gusts over 50mph. This combined with temperatures in the single digits and low teens will create dangerous wind chills.
Even worse Sunday night/early Monday morning with air temperatures below zero and wind chills in the negative 30s.

Good morning, but not real good. We planned to go to Sammie’s house. The storm is supposed to have blowing snow and whiteouts and they say no unnecessary travel. Well, this might be necessary just because we want to go.

Our folks are going out in that windy snow tonight. They have tickets for a Valentines Benefit for River House PA, a Wounded Warriors Project. It is a spaghetti (gasp!) dinner, with a band and an auction of some really cool items. For example, there is fly fishing lessons, and yoga, and massages, and kayaking/boating/biking.

Good day all. Housekeeping hint of the day: every once in a while move furniture around and change the energy of the room. Also to find hidden treasure. Unfortunately my hidden treasure tend to be cat toys, dog fur and candy wrappers {{{sigh}}} instead of money and jewelry but someone else might be luckier. Maybe do this more than once a year (thank goodness Plunderer visits keep me on schedule).

I have 16 days to train Sadie to stay off the couch. There might be some resistance involved. It started when I was fostering Ikette and was holding the puppy in my lap. Then it restarted when the kittens started getting on the couch. I know she thought that what is fair for others is fair for her. Now kittens are gone.

Dawson, Thanks for the interesting article by Seb. I have always thought of scratching from a race as just a part of long-distance sled dog racing. It happens. I always feel bad for the mushers that have to scratch. It takes so much work and money to get to the starting line of a race.

CHobbit: Harris will always be a second-hand sled dog because that is how she, like other rescues in the kennel, came to us. AJ rescued her from a very bad situation. Not just bad, it was the very most bad. He won’t tell you this because it is not his way, but he helped save other members of the nation within that same day and found them good homes. But, Harris was his from the first sniff and whiff. Will Harris run for the team? That is the hope. She just has to stop being the Giant’s shadow first. He is such a softy.

Me and my gal had the best Valentines Day. I took her to Mount Vernon first (it is very dog friendly there) and then we went to Alexandria for a nice walk about, including the Alexandria waterfront. We also got some special attire in Alexandria for Valentines Day as well. Yeah, and we brought the old folks along with us too.

Last, but not least, this is us at Mount Vernon sharing a stick down in the newly developed area at Mount Vernon where they have some agricultural stuff demonstrated. Wyatt, I am honored to be your Valentine.
Macy is still under the quilt, but she did eat her dinner. I hope she will not spit out her giraffe pill tonight. I left her outside in the warm sunshine all day and it seems to have done her some good. Cold weather is coming, though, and I don’t want to leave her outside while I am at work.

We just took filling Rio’s valentines dance card to a whole new level. Lefty and Rio danced the final dance scene from Dirty Dancing. I would’t believe Rio could lift Lefty over his flat head like that if I hadn’t seen it with my own to eyes.

Rio: The dog jacket always adds ten pounds. Or, is the kamera I procured and stuffed into the pockets of said jackets that add ten pounds? I forget. I do know that the best part of the night was when Rio declared, “Nobody puts Lefty in a corner.” That was my signal to start dancing.
