Dawson, Yes, they are and will shoot off fireworks in this state.
The noise began here about three days ago. The governor would ban all fireworks in this state, but she doesn’t have the legal authority. The legislature would have to pass a law, and they won’t do it because the fireworks lobby is too strong.
In the 1980’s, a Hispanic Governor that was leaving office after an 8 year term, called NM a “Banana Republic”. Well….

They are banned in all counties around here due to the drought……can’t sell them, can’t transport them, can’t set them off. We don’t mind fireworks. Some years, Mom & Pop drive us to a nice hill to watch them. We don’t see the excitement, but neither do they scare us. But this year, Mom is very afraid of fireworks. It is very dry here, and she said even a little spark from a kid’s sparkler could start a fire. So we think doing fireworks in Siber’s neck of the woods is a very bad idea.
Now about this political thing…we think its time for a woman to run things. (and we are NOT impressed with the women currently being bandied about in the media). Sasha is the bossy one around here…just sayin’.

Dog have you guys been busy! James did very well on his first race. We were worried about Rachel and Will, everyone went by and they still weren’t there. There was a cut off time. If you didn’t reach a particular place by a certain time, your race was over. . .
Then over the hill we saw them! They had stayed behind to help their friend who has some medical issues. They all completed the race! YEA!

Liz: When the SharedBooks site makes the “book” they have print on both sides of the page so the page number would be halved. Don’t know if you can do that when making the pdf since I know nothing about pdfs.

You can print PDFs double sided: so the PDF would have the total number of pages (115) but if people print it out then the book would be half of that. Won’t reduce the file size but anyway, I’m sure there’ll be a way.

Hoi everyone – hope you have all had a wonderful holiday! We are just waiting for the Boston Pops 4th of July Special – the 1812 overture, complete with cannons!
Bee – sorry to just be getting back to you about the recipe. The thing is, that recipe is so forgiving – you can add almost anything as long as the final “batter” is a heavy paste consistency and has to be spread out in the pan with a hand or tool. Sometimes the flour doesn’t seem enough, and we throw in a handful of cornmeal, or wheat germ. If the pumpkin or bananas make the batter too soft, more dry ingredients can be added to stiffen it back up again.
Is there a way you can indicate that in the write-up?

Melanie: I love the video of the race. It is so exciting to see your racers coming over the hill…and the smiles are enormous.
A fire is blazing and hot dogs and corn on the cob are awaiting the coals. It’s hot and sunny with a breeze. A new clothes line is being strung. I’m just finishing a good book. Life doesn’t get any better than this. 🙂 😉 🙂

Yes, I’m watching the Rockies game. First CarGo and now Tulo. Not that they aren’t all valuable, but these are the two guys the Rockies need the most.

Update from auction central. We just sailed past the $1800 mark, at $1801.37. What put over the top was the last bid on a picture of a famous movie star to be (not Franklin), which someone just upped by $2.57 to $19.57 (which was also a good year for Chevies). I can’t say who the bidder was, but she was heard singing 99 Bottles of Borscht on the Wall. Wookie

Bee, You are right Red Violin is not a new movie, it came out in 1998. The nice thing about Netflix is getting to review and order movies we had never heard of. Another one we LOVED was Flipped. Rob Reiner directed, and main characters are a boy and girl born in 1950. Story starts in 1957 with them at age 7. Really good movie, and might appeal to some of youse guys who might be about the same age.
Well, back to watch the end of the movie and relax for a bit before bed.
Hopefully we can still afford to bid on something tomorrow.

I received a text from AJ a bit ago to recap the day in the kennel. Luna was in a parade, Tenzing hates fireworks (nothing new) and we have two new team members! Details are few, but I do know that they come from my mushing mentor, Lance who is also the namesake of the second half of W.L’s name!
