“Loo” is an interesting word. The derivation is obscure according to the OED but some believe it’s from the French, “Regardez l’eau.” Apparently that was called out in earlier centuries when chamber pots were emptied out of windows.

Yes people threw the contents of chamber pots out the windows on to the streets. Hence the reason polite men walked to the street side of their lady. When contents were splashed up on the person by a passing carriage, the gentleman got hit. Hygine was not what it is today.

Well, they are still at the hospital. Dad did great with the chemo procedure but bloodwork afterwards shows his level of anti seizure med in the blood has fallen way down. Could be as a result of starting both the radiation and the chemo. So he is getting an IV today to boost it up then his RX has been upped. Should get home tomorrow. Minor bump in the road.

LOL We just read Stover’s story. We are going to have dad read it later because he put himself through college working with dynamite in the summer. Dad did some of his own experimenting with dynamite, but never an outhouse. There was one minor explosion on the college campus.

RIÖ! Hi . . this place was echoing with just me in it.
Sam, I’m glad you are taking care of MollyPop’s mom. That “glutening” is rough.
YSAS called and said he recognized someone 11 or 12 years ago when he was an extra on the Human Stain. They were filming that up here in Wester MA and it’s where he got his first taste of movie life. Not only did he recognized the guy, but remembered the conversation. Jeeze Louse. I have enough trouble remember my guys names and not mixing them up with the Pack.
Anywoof, he talked to the guy for awhile (he is now a stuntman) and learned that his house still had four feet of water in it. His wife and children were staying with a friend, but he has to stay there at night because of looting.
YSAS told him his other day job was demolition and if he needed help at anytime to give him a call. Boy, did that make the other guy’s day.
