Happy Birthday, Joni Mitchell

“Sixty-nine today,” Admin says.

“And are you sending some sort of timely message with the title of this song?” says Spence.

“Sending a message?” Admin says. “You know what Sam Goldwyn said.”

“Call Western Union.”

Welcome Sophie, Winston.

Good morning, constituents. The pugs and the huskies have decided to form a coalition government.

Our pop is feeling low today. Blaming it on some Belgian monks.

Good morning Oleys and all. We had a late night too, so moving a little slow this morning. Oleys, tell you paw to try some hair of the dog. LOL

Enjoyed the Joni song, Hard to believe that was 42 years ago.

I think that this is the first time Spence and I have agreed on music.

    Good morning all.

    Greetings All!

Preparing for some snow and wind here in Westchester county.

Pancho and Lefty: Please forgive me for even suggesting that you were nothing but splattered splort (that did make me laugh, though). I would be honored to be in the company of two fine dogs such as yourselves. Maybe with some lessons, we can do the Bonnie and Clyde thing…. :^)

Good Morning all. Poor OleyHowlers’ Dad. Does he need some hair of the dog?
We have plenty of it here.

    Or perhaps, just another?

Just finished last night’s comments. Hurrah for Gramps! Good job Wöökie. The Pack blurred in during the surgery and noticed you in the mask. You’re pretty tall when you stand on your back legs.

More phone calls today. Sigh. We asked my sister if this stuff ever stops and she said that 6 years after her husband died she still occasionally had to deal with paperwork.

OTAS and GLAD are tiling their downstairs half bath with . . . PENNIES. Can’t wait to see when it’s done. I put a pic up.

Whoops, Macy . . my sister when she was in her early teens found a rat in the toilet. YIKES. The town had been having problems with rats in the sewer, but the Mayor didn’t see a big problem.

Dan took a picture of it and sent it to the paper. The problem was fixed.

My sister still looks before she sits.

This is a sad day for our country. There will be no Siber or Pug president this term. Just wait 4 years and we will have real change. The Pugs and Huskies coalation will win!

(whispering) We don’t really care for Joni Mitchell, but Happy Birthday to her anyway.

Siber – we have heard tell of a member of the Nation Within that used to live here – that dog would howl her head off at Joni Mitchell. She didn’t much liker Judi Collins either.
But she would hang out with the brother here when he was playing his Cream records. Go figure.

Siber – that’s probably exactly what it is. Everyone here likes the Chsd Mitchell Trio, the Weavers, Peter, Paul and Mary….

Wose: Splattered splort—We’re glad it made you laugh. We already have a Bonnie and Clyde. They were two of four dogs we added to the Kennel last spring. They came from the kennel of Rebecca’s mushing mentor; this is the same kennel as Junior. The other two are named Bjourn and Rioc. Our Lady wanted to rename all of them, but before she knew it, AJ had packed us up and taken us to southeast for the summer. Along the way, and the details are fuzzy, he renamed one of them Bonnie and the other Clyde. Let’s just say, they fit into the kennel nicely. Our Lady is the CNO, Chief Naming Officer of our littler operation, and AJ only thinks he has a say in naming. He doesn’t. But, he was so pleased with himself she decided to choose another battle.

Beau: Talk about skill. Your Friend must be proud, no doubt. AJ’s sled bag is our usual target. Now, it is a challenge combined with skill, accuracy and speed. It’s not only a matter of doing it before he notices, but finish the job once he notices and tries to stop you. Garcia is the record holder.

Accused looks like a really great movie. When did Masquers learn he got the part, and how difficult was it for him to play a girl? I mean Dustin Hoffman could do it well but really, Masquers is no DH.

Sammy, I like your longish hair.

Bear, I would have probably plunged my head right into the toilet to get a rat. We have no rats here, but we have something that looks a lot like them, except with a big fluffy tail. I go nuts when they try to come to our bird feeders.

Part of the stock market problem today was some new worries about Europe, especially Germany and Greece.

Another day in the life of Gramp’s Personal Taxi Company. But now he has some nice new boots, and we got a little bit further on a Secret Project.

  48. OleyHowlers
    5:16 pm on November 7th, 2012

Barb, the analysts said that the stock market problem today had to do with the European worries, but also has to do with the worries over the split government not being able to play nice together to avoid the so-called “fiscal cliff”. Let’s hope they can act like grown ups.

  49. Barb & Maggie
    5:37 pm on November 7th, 2012

The fiscal cliff problem has been looming all year, but you are right, the Congress has choosen to act like bickering little children. They have the ability to solve the problems, or at least ease them, if they will only make an effort to work together.

I have been in lurk mode lately, trying to reestablish my identity in a world without my mom. It’s hard to explain. I feel such a deep peace and joy for her, and yet I am adrift.

Tough week for Mom emotionally. Dad has done so well since the seizure and the the surgery. She hates to think of him having to go through the radiation and chemo. Dad is much more solid about it. Hopefully, once everything gets under way, Mom will regroup.

We just caught up with the last few days posting. Wookie, so sorry to hear about your Grandpa’s fall but so thankful that his surgery went well and that he will be out and about giving walkies and tummies before you know it.

Glad all in the northeast have recovered from storm#1 and hope they aren’t going to suffer from storm #2.
