Happy Bastille Day!
And it’s also the 100th anniversary of the birth of Woody Guthrie. Lots of new songs (the lyrics, anyway) have been found in the last few years.

I was in Paris on Bastille Day one year. They don’t celebrate the way we celebrate July 4.
Good morning all.
9:11 am on July 14th, 2012
Good Morning Everyone.
The rain has gone. The sun is out.
Happy Birthday Woody. It was good to know ya.
9:13 am on July 14th, 2012
Hi, B. How do the French celebrate this day?
9:42 am on July 14th, 2012
Gus update. Dad got off work early and took him for a another followup visit at the vet. His potassium level is going up but so is the return of fluid around his little heart. We are going to try an additional fluid pill to help the Lasix but continue the potassium supplement. Mom’s okay with him just sleeping most of the time so long as he isn’t in pain. He is still alert and was quite talkative at the vet. It’s the beginning of the end and we have to be thankful for the years we have had the we weren’t supposed to have. His 6 months to live have stretched to 6+ years. And who knows, he may decided to hang around awhile longer. Thank you guys for all the support and many prayers. Love you all.

Good morning all. Wish the rain would head this way. Farmers say that if there is no rain by end of next week the corn crop is lost. Some are chopping it up already for sillage.
Have packed 6 boxes already this morning and a friend is coming over in a few minutes to have coffee and take 6 chickens home with her. Sob.
9:47 am on July 14th, 2012
MagPie, don’t let her take Peaches by mistake!
9:54 am on July 14th, 2012
Morning plunderers. Sunny and pleasant here in the middle of the mitten, but we are also hoping for rain. Very dry here.
Thinking of Gus and his family. Crossed tails and paws.
Sissy has 1 more chemo treatment left. 3 weeks after that she can continue the reconstruction surgery, getting the expanders out and implants in. She is looking forward to pretty and perky. BIL gets this goofy smile on his face every time they talk about this. Huh.
As long as I have my kibble and bones I smile too. I don’t need perky.
Barb: When a friend comes over for kawfee, they usually leave with a slice of cake or some cookies. Your friends leave with chickens. Don’t see that every day. Huh. Change can be both sad and glad. Another thing that makes me go huh.
9:58 am on July 14th, 2012
Bear: They have a military parade on the Champs-Élysées. They may have fireworks but I didn’t see any.
10:01 am on July 14th, 2012
Peaches will remain with us. She is getting a $500 chicken coop at Josh’s. That is what happens when we let Lily hatch out a baby chick!
Our thoughts are with all of you this morning. Hope all are OK. BBL

Good morning, y’all! Glad to hear the Royals’ mom is feeling better — good luck with the Really Big Shew! And it sounds like Gus needs just to chill awhile and save his energy for making himself better. One of Mom’s co-workers was having trouble breathing and thought it was just her asthma, but she was diagnosed with fluids, too. So Mom asked her if she was taking Lasix, and she is. Then Mom told her she should eat a banana to keep her potassium up, but the lady said she was prescribed a supplement. After following Gus’s case, Mom felt very medically astute!
Last night was the Friends of the Library book sale, so Mom went after work and got my girl bunches and bunches of books for her preschool class. Those little kids are going to grow up to be almost as good of readers as I am!
10:08 am on July 14th, 2012
Bear: (To add to that)–We have a carnival atmosphere (and literally have a carnival around here) but I didn’t see any of that. Of course, I don’t know what they do in the smaller towns.
10:09 am on July 14th, 2012
B&M: We’re sorry to hear about your lack-of-rain trouble. I’m not real fond of rain myself, but as long as I’m in my nice, cozy house, I understand the need for the stuff. Mom and Dad were shaking their heads last night because the weatherman sounded like he was almost apologizing for the possibility of rain today — again. We’ve had at least a little rain each day for the past seven days. How horrible — NOT! We’ve been suffering from a drought the last few years, and I’m not sure if the water table is caught up yet — I’m sure Bernie keeps better track of that stuff than I do!

BooBear: Keep Gus tucked up under the Quilt. Sending our love.
Amalia: The Quilt was quietly and lovingly tucked around you whilst you were sleeping the other night. The Plunderers “know” when one of their own is not feeling tip top without being told. May your show this weekend be Off the Charts in Sales.
Hello to Jasper & mom. Good to know Sissy is doing so well and will soon be able to put all this behind her.
SnowBella: Get ready for a Heroine’s Welcome Home!
10:22 am on July 14th, 2012
I hope the new pill works and that Gus has a little more time. Loving our pets is bittersweet thing; but the sweet out weighs the bitter.
Praying that Amalia has a fantabulous shew!
Safe travels, Bella.
10:37 am on July 14th, 2012
We love Woody Guthrie. Great photos in that video. That was before mom’s time, but she says she “knows” that time. It is oral history in Oklahoma.
10:43 am on July 14th, 2012
Greetings!
Wolfie, I am so sorry to hear about your mom’s brother. Loving hugs to you both.
B&M, sorry to hear that the drought is affecting all the hard work you’ve done in your gardens. We here in New York have not seen much rain either. Everything is brown…
Rebecca: Safe flight home to your musher!
Gus, sending you prayers and hugs. Hang in there, big guy. We all love you. Loving hugs to BooBear and your mom and pop.
T&G, so glad to hear your mum is much better! Hope that much money flows into your pockets today.
SiberH and Rio, Rockies kicked some butt again, huh? Rio, does this mean the new guy has replaced Todd Helton in her heart?
BTW, The Yankees kicked some Angel butt last night, too!
Sammie, the new FOC from Lincoln Park, NJ, looks a little like you. Of course, she will never be a princess like you!

Gus, We are with you, buddy. We pray for a more time with your family and all of us.
Amalia, hope you continue to feel better and the show is a big success for you.
Rio, Oh Yeah, Mom is agreeing with your comment last night about Rutledge being good looking. This will be something if he works out for the Rockies…eye candy for your friend and my mom that can also hit a baseball.
10:47 am on July 14th, 2012
Jasper, such good news about Sissy. I wear a LIVESTRONG bracelet because I am a cancer survivor, and to honor my wonderful sister-in-law who did not survive colon cancer. I will honor Sissy as well.
10:52 am on July 14th, 2012
The world still needs Woody Guthrie! He stood up for the little man and the working class. He fought for the rights of the common person and helped spread the ideal that this is truly “our land.” I paid tribute to the legendary musician with a portrait of Woody which you can see on my artist’s blog at http://dregstudiosart.blogspot.com/2012/07/woody-guthrie-centennial.html where you can drop by and let me know how Woody’s voice has spoken to you as well.

The French would like to celebrate Bastille Day by winning today’s stage of the Tour de France, but it won’t happen this year.
11:10 am on July 14th, 2012
Boo Bear and family and Gus. Hang in there, little guy. You are loved so much by your family and the magic of the quilt is with you too. Thoughts and prayers. Wookie

B: Thank you for the info on Bastille Day. When where you last in France?
11:18 am on July 14th, 2012
A friend of YSAS did a one man show about Woodie Guthrie last year. I bet Zoë would have love to seen that!
That friend also played the cop zombie on YSAS’s promo. He’s very good as a zombie. i bet he was even better as Woodie Guthrie.
Safe Travels! Safe weather! Good Shew!
I’m in a new play it’s called “Waiting for Rain” by Manual Bucket.

Rose: Your message about next Friday was received. The Smoochers will be there!
Melanie: Your play…very apropos…I’d say.

Bear: It’s been twelve years since I went to Paris. I rented an apartment. I didn’t realize it had been that long ago.

Barb and Maggie,
Mr.Staff has been sending me dire corn crop predictions. Here is today’s.
Rose, We are not talking about our gardens, we are talking about much much more.
http://www.agweb.com/article/is_the_corn_crop_beyond_recovery/
12:40 pm on July 14th, 2012
Gus, Stay under the quilt and get lots and lots of rest/sleep. You are very much loved by your mom and dad and Boo Bear, as well as all of us Plunderers. We wish the best for you.
Bella, Your homecoming will be met with much anticipation from your entire family…4-leggeds and especially that big 2-legged.
Barb and Staff, we are also having very dry summer and our corn fields are not looking good. Altho so far, the sweet corn we have been eating has been great. If we can get up on our soapbox for a minute…this is one of the many reasons why farmland all across our country needs to be kept as farmland. Too many folks think that our food source can all be contained in one area, and that does not work if that one area suffers from drought or floods. Once farmland is lost to development, it can never be farmland again. Developing is o.k. but it must be “Smart Growth”. Too many McMansions on the East Coast have been built in the middle of what used to be farmland. They sit on an acre or two of beautiful, quite useless lawn. And everyone gets in their cars to drive everywhere, because those developments are not being built as true communities.
O.K. we are jumping back down.
12:59 pm on July 14th, 2012
I swear, Bastille Day snuck up on me again this year…
G&BB: Please know that your family is in our thoughts. Six months or six years—either way, each day is a treasure. Peace be with you.
Golinka: I sure hope staying up until all hours a couple of weeks ago didn’t make you sick. Best of luck to you and Leonard, the Storyteller not the dog for the Reelly Big Shew.
Jasper: Goofy smiles notwithstanding, it is great to hear sissy is recovering and looking forward to the next step in the process.
Rose: Belle Starr and Luna are ready to deploy at a moments notice. I’m told the Belle Starr has already started packing. What is she packing? I have no idea.
I hope to see a goofy smile from AJ tonight when he picks me up at the airport. I have a very long day of travel a head of me and can’t wait to see him. I hope he doesn’t decide it is too late to drive into town to the airport and leave me there. It is a long walk to Willow. 🙂
1:03 pm on July 14th, 2012
Mr Staff’s report is very sad, as was the morning weather outlook from Barb. Here, after waking up to sunshine it is raining once again, with claps of thunder added for effect.
B: Your Paris trip sounds like it was so much fun! Especially to rent an apartment and mingle with the locals.
May have to close down for a bit until the storm passes.
2:05 pm on July 14th, 2012
Masquers: Paris was fun. One day I was walking back to the apartment with French bread under my arm. A car pulled up and asked for directions…in French. (The people were French and apparently visiting Paris.) I had to ask, “Parle vous Anglais?” and they were embarrassed. I thought it pretty neat that I must look like a Parisian. Another time an American asked me in French where Notre Dame was. I asked, “Are you American?” He seem startled and said yes and then I pointed behind him. He was standing in front of Notre Dame.
2:07 pm on July 14th, 2012
Note to self— nominate B to be in charge of all French missions or those missions involving le pan and directions.
2:23 pm on July 14th, 2012
I have never been to France. It sounds delightful through B.Stover’s memories.
Been in the pool scrubbing the stairs. Nice and cool in there. Now I want a nap. . .
When I got out I was changing around the hoses and picked our first harvest . .
2:35 pm on July 14th, 2012
One last memory: My friend and I had been to a perfume shop and sampled some of the perfumes by spraying them on our arms. Walking down the street I was still sniffing at my arm. Two Parisian men were walking toward us. One held my hand and sniffed my arm and said, “Ah, magnifique!” I told my friend, “Only in Paris.”
2:53 pm on July 14th, 2012
B: It appears asking directions is the same everywhere. We seem to ask the one person who doesn’t live there. lol.
You have lovely memories of Paris to treasure always. Have you ever thought about writing of your travels? Perhaps you have already done so.
Melanie: The beginnings of a fresh garden salad, or just a munchie?
Bella: I know you are so excited to be on the way home and we know some others who feel the same way. The hours cannot pass quickly enough today.
3:00 pm on July 14th, 2012
Masquers: One of the younger faculty members at school is in Paris right now. Before she left she asked about museums and places to go. I had fun telling her about it.
3:08 pm on July 14th, 2012
Home!…My friend is home!home!home!…snort!…Beau is triple twirling and I’m snorting…heh!…She left us this morning to go the post office where she almost went “Postal”…sniff!…Someone in front of her beat her to it, so she decided to behave after seein how bad it looks to lose your temper in public…grunt!…Anyways, then she had to go shop for walking s-h-o-e-s. So come back Woody Guthrie
Now, come back to us now
Tear your eyes from paradise
And rise again somehow
If you run into Jesus
Maybe he can help you out
Come back Woody Guthrie
To us now

Masquers, they are going to be an appetizer!
I’m not saying our lovely lady Katie is a food hound, but I noticed the raspberries on the play yard’s stone fence were just about ripe. I went out to get a handful and Katie was carefully shipping just the fruit of the bush. Luckily, she’s not as tall as Franklin so a few were left.

Steve Earle – I’ll Never Get Out Of This World Alive – ain’t that the truth.
4:00 pm on July 14th, 2012
Hmm, forgot to say that Woodie’s son, Arlo, lives up here somewhere. About 35 miles away is the original Alice’s Restaurant.
4:00 pm on July 14th, 2012
Terry: That looks like a personal photo.
Melanie: Well. They are Bears after all.
4:08 pm on July 14th, 2012
I hate Vegas.
4:16 pm on July 14th, 2012
Rebecca: So do I. Why do you hate it?
4:18 pm on July 14th, 2012
Masquers,
Yep. I only post my own pictures. That was taken at a concert in New Haven in 2008, just before I made my escape from Connecticut.
4:39 pm on July 14th, 2012
B: I have a hard time adjusting to big crowds. I’d rather have my space. There is also too much skin for my taste and gamb-I-ling scares me. I work too hard for my money—buying dog food and scooping up my money in a bucket seems far less risky. Plus, with some people, not with all, there is a sense that people are doing things they normally wouldn’t do; that feeling makes me uneasy. Last year Jodi, the person not the puppy taught me never accept anything that is handed to you by someone on the strip.
4:47 pm on July 14th, 2012
Rebecca: That is good advice.
4:50 pm on July 14th, 2012
Jodi, the person not the puppy has never steered me wrong. The puppy on the other hand, well, that’s a different story.
4:51 pm on July 14th, 2012
B: why do you hate Vegas?
I have a layover near my favorite pug, but won’t be adding another Plundering stamp to my passport.
4:53 pm on July 14th, 2012
Mom hates Vegas also, mostly because it is the once beautiful desert now covered with concrete and asphalt and blazing with neon, and too many people…way too many people. The water that has to be taken out of the Colorado River to light up Vegas is just plain stupid and wrong.
Oh yeah, we love Steve Earl We play his cd’s in our truck all the time. He has written some great songs.
Shopping is torture.
4:59 pm on July 14th, 2012
Staff and Oley, Interesting how many people know nothing about crops. I was talking to my sister this morning about the corn problem here. I said if there is not enough moisture when the corn tassels, then the ears won’t develop. She said I don’t know what that means. I said, you know – that fuzzy stuff on the top of the corn. Even if you don’t live in the country, I would think you would have seen a corn plant before! Duh!
5:07 pm on July 14th, 2012
Bella – the parental units went to Vegas for a sibling’s wedding. Mom felt as if the desert said – the city can be here but if I want, the earth will open and I will swallow it.
They were in town for 24 hours and she couldn’t get out fast enough. Too much was sad illusion, but the marriage is good.
Sending warm thoughts of healing to Gus and family.
Rio’s friend – Zappos and Amazon for shopping at home!!!
5:11 pm on July 14th, 2012
Rio: Window shopping with Bev is always fun. It usually involves a stop at a small bakery for cupcakes. Maybe if your friend added cupcakes to the mix, shopping would be a tad more enjoyable.
5:26 pm on July 14th, 2012
Bah!…Shopping.
Hot!…Its hot out and so we are downstairs. She is twirling paper and trying to forget about that shopping experience..sniff!
5:29 pm on July 14th, 2012
Ab-Fab!…Is anyone on this here blog a fan of Ab-Fab?…snort!…It is a British Comedy – I was surprised to find a couple episodes ON DEMAND…heh!
5:32 pm on July 14th, 2012
Rebecca: I dislike the entire atmosphere about Vegas….not only the heat and dry, greenless desert but also the irresponsible attitude of the people. (The food is good though!)
5:36 pm on July 14th, 2012
Rio: Absolutely Fabulous? It’s really funny.
5:38 pm on July 14th, 2012
SH: Sorry about my desert description. I just love the green of Michigan. I also like having four seasons.
6:14 pm on July 14th, 2012
Stover, That is okay. I take no offense. What you said about Vegas is so true. My desert and Chet and Bernies desert is not as barren as the desert around Vegas.
I’d still rather be in Alaska.
6:20 pm on July 14th, 2012
Hey Guys. We were out at our most favorite cheese shop..well they were there. We were not. They said you get a full “tour” every time you stop by. So many good cheeses from all over the world.
Mom was never in Vegas and has absolutely no desire to go there. She says it is “not her cuppa” whatever that means. Pop was there when he was a young airman and he liked it. He didn’t gamble but he said there were lots of other things to do back when he was young and fun.
Rio, Mom hates shopping too. The only kind she does is the online kind, and the food/wine kind.
We have been running our soaker hoses in the garden beds every evening, because of how dry it has been. We are so glad we put those in this year. Today, they had their first tomato. We got squat.
Mom loved Paris too, Bee. Although she was only there for 3 non-sleeping days. She was 20 or so and met young romantic guys who kissed her hand to say goodbye. Ooh la la.
6:21 pm on July 14th, 2012
Never been to Vegas. Lake Mead is supposed to be beautiful. One of my nephews and wife have a sailboat there.
Struggling to stay awake.
6:42 pm on July 14th, 2012
Staff and B&M: I did not mean to imply that only your gardens were suffering. I am very aware of how very dry the mid-land has been, and how many crops and livestock are being destroyed. I am also aware of the human lives that have been taken. Very soon we consumers will all feel the results of this horrible drought. Please accept my apologies if I have offended you.
6:44 pm on July 14th, 2012
Vegas!…snort!…Gamboling and drinking, my cuppa tea by golly!…chuffle!…But someone here won’t let me and Beau go out there. Ever!…sniff!
Birds!…We are watching an old Hitchcock movie called, The Birds…snort!…I have never been able to figure out why the birds go all murderous on this little coastal town…huffle!…It bothers me!
6:45 pm on July 14th, 2012
Masquers, I can always count on the Smoochers. Thank you for always being there!
Rebecca: Maybe Belle Starr is packing extra chapstick. I could definitely use some.
6:55 pm on July 14th, 2012
I have never wanted to go to Vegas. Good thing since I have never gone. Doesn’t look like I ever will either. I believe Mr.Staff has gone. Not sure though. I guess I don’t care about it that much.
What I like is water. (Sorry Mr.Husky) When I was young we lived on Lake Huron. About a block from the beach. I still would rather be on a lake or the ocean than in the Mountains. Mountains are beautiful though, as long as they have lakes. Heh.
So here I am in the exact middle of North America (well 148 miles away) about as far as you can get from oceans. And in the flattest part. I tell myself that it used to be an inland sea, but that doesn’t seem to help. SIGH.
6:56 pm on July 14th, 2012
No worries Rose, we are not offended at all, and know that you were not trivializing the problem. You were only expressing concern about the gardens, which we appreciate.
We just heard that 75% of all the food we buy/eat will be affected by the corn shortage. It will not be pretty!
6:58 pm on July 14th, 2012
Rose dear, sorry back at you. We were just being very picky about it,and reading more into the post than you intended. And also maybe I was grabbing a chance to educate. My sisters say I do that a lot. So does my brother the turtleman. Hmmmm Maybe they are telling the truth?
Hugs to you.
7:08 pm on July 14th, 2012
Staff and B&M, thank you for accepting my apology. Hugs back at you all!

Howlers: The only time I had my hand kissed by a man was, strangely, by a waiter in Vegas. It was an oh la la feeling! Blackjack is one of my favorite card games, though I do not gamble. It’s just fun as a card game.
The Birds is a good movie. They attack because the Tippie Hedren character frivolously buys two lovebirds in a cage as a joke. The fact that they are caged and that that seems reasonable to humans angers all the birds. At least, that has always been my take on the movie. Birds outnumber humans…I think. And the thought of them attacking humans in large numbers probably fascinated Hitchcock.
7:16 pm on July 14th, 2012
Melanie: Lake Tahoe is beautiful. That is Reno, of course, rather than Vegas.

It is really irritating to have a comment moderated. I was only mentioning a certain card game. Grrrrrr….
7:26 pm on July 14th, 2012
Lake Tahoe and Lake Mead aren’t the same lake are they? Getting confused here.
Our river still has water in it, but it is LOW and has an algae bloom. (I love how I used high letter for the word “low”)
One story then I’m out of here.
Had a friend who took her family to Vegas for a vacation. Everything was dandy until 2 am when a screaming body fell by their upper story window. She called the front desk. Turns out they were bungie jumping. They can only do it at night. She had their rooms changed.
Ah, tha . . tha . . that’s all Folks!
7:28 pm on July 14th, 2012
Except one more story. First time our family watched “The Birds” on TV we had a friend over. He opened the door to go home and some birds flew by. Slams the door, we all scream and run about. He stayed the night!
TTFN (really)

I was also commenting about having my hand kissed in Vegas. Grrrrr again.

7:32 pm on July 14th, 2012
Melanie: They are two different lakes.
7:53 pm on July 14th, 2012
Masquers! Damn it!!! We were hurrying to get to the end of the posts so we could say that Johnny Depp is starring in The Birds remake. LOL ! Good friends think alike.
Rose, we also think it is wonderful that you sympathize for those who have spent many hours toiling in the garden and are now going thru a drought. We just like to soapbox-speak about saving farmland. We do that all the time here in Oley.
8:00 pm on July 14th, 2012
Drought!….Do you think this drought is caused by her mothers leaking sprinkler system?….huffle!…She got her water bill today and said, “That guy was wrong! I only used 58,000 gallons of water last month.”….grump!

SiberH!…Are you as excited about our new rookie player as we are here?…snort!snort!

My folks are not big fans of Vegas either, especially mom. Just too much, too much. They have been there a couple of times for social occasions (a wedding and a 50th wedding anniversary) and my dad has been there for business (conferences). A funny story about my dad and Vegas. He was there once for a conference and commented to my mom about how good the Italian food was there, which he thought strange for a city in the Southwest. Mom told him to think about it for a minute, at which point, he said, oh yeah.

Italian!…Even Gansta’s like good food…snort!

Wookie…ha ha ha ha ha!
Gah!!! Our Rio has caused the draught hitting the entire midwest and east coast!!!! It was all due to his friend’s leaking sprinkler system!!! Who knew?
On an entirely different note: Rio, how close are you to Fort Collins? Pop’s co-worker gave them 2 Fat Tire Ales from New Belgium Brewing in Fort Collins. This guy said they are only sold in Maryland, which is ludicrous. However, those were good, so another day trip to the MD is being planned here
8:27 pm on July 14th, 2012
Fat Tire!…Fort Collins claim to fame…heh!heh!… Thats where that big fire was last month…sniff!sniff!…We here do not drink Fat Tire beer, but we love their posters…snorkel!
8:28 pm on July 14th, 2012
Rio, you don’t like Fat Tire? Mom and Pop thought it was delish.
8:29 pm on July 14th, 2012
The Birds brings back fond memories. I was expecting a little bundle of joy, Sam’s Mom, and she refused to be born. We thought that scary movie might do the trick. It didn’t but I loved the movie and was really scared. BTW, she ended up 21 days late and made her appearance into the world in 1-1/2 hours from first letting me know. And yes, I made it to the hospital just in the nick of time.
8:34 pm on July 14th, 2012
Rio: I waved at you while we flew overhead. I think I was Beau who gave a tail wag back while he was tending the the chili plants in your garden.
8:36 pm on July 14th, 2012
Ale!…Fat Tire is a little too dark for our taste…sniff!…We like Bud Light with a dash of lime and salt…burp!
8:37 pm on July 14th, 2012
Hi everyone! If we could have bottled the air here today, we could have shipped it around the country and put out all the forest fires, and watered every garden and field that is growing corn. In other words – it was humid.
We had lots of people and 99% of them were polite and interested and friendly. And in this heat, tgat is really saying something. Sales were okay – we are hoping for a lot of people to come back tomorrow when the weather is fit for human consumption
Gus – we are staying with you, buddy.
Bella – fear not – getting sick had nothing to do with your Big Event. Sometimes it just happens. We hope you are home in welcoming arms soon. We bet you have been seriously missed. And we are looking forward to that autographed picture (tee hee)
We will ask for rain in our prayers tonight. Not on our show, thank you very much, but for everyone trying to grow green stuff.
And for now we are drinking gallons of water and sitting here with the AC going full blast.
8:38 pm on July 14th, 2012
Rebecca!… I thought I saw you up there!…heh!heh!…You must have seen Beau doing his cartwheel around the Chili Peppers…gruffle!
8:42 pm on July 14th, 2012
And we like Las Vegas – the one in New Mexico!!
8:44 pm on July 14th, 2012
Golinka: Would you like AJ Bond or the one with the axe? Snort.
Rio: Was that a pugwheel? What ever it was, I give it a ten for technique and degree of difficulty.
8:46 pm on July 14th, 2012
Stinky!…There are TWO Las Vegas’s?…snort!…I hope you are feeling better after all that water. Maybe you sweated out all the sick germs in your body today…sniff!…Tomorrow you will sell!sell!sell!, I just KNOW it…wheeze!
8:48 pm on July 14th, 2012
Style!…Beau certainly has his own unique style of putting it out there…heh!heh!…He tries to act normal on our walk, but sometimes he just can’t help himself. Her and I just roll our eyes and hope no one else is watching….gruffle!
8:52 pm on July 14th, 2012
Rio: Fargo and I did the same eye roll the first (and only) time we suited Belle Starr up and ran her with the team.
8:53 pm on July 14th, 2012
Good night folks. Mom and Pop are outside having a great Saturday night. They told us to get off the iPaw and go for a nighttime walk around the farm. And then have some fun with the family. Awoooooo!
9:04 pm on July 14th, 2012
Rio, Yes, I am excited about the new rookie. You did not read my post about him that is on the blog earlier this morning.
The Rockies are now in next to last place in their division instead of last place.
Oh Gee, I don’t know who is cast in the remake of The Birds.
For all you Johnny Depp fans, he is cast in a remake of The Thin Man.
9:08 pm on July 14th, 2012
SiberH!…Your post mentioned him being good-looking but not his amazing ability…heh!…He had a great night last night for his first time in the Majors. I hope he does as well tonight…chuffle!
9:18 pm on July 14th, 2012
There is a Las Vegas, NM. We like it too…much nicer than the other Vegas. The Earps and Doc Holliday spent some time there on their way to Tombstone, Arizona.
Melanie, Lake Meade and Lake Tahoe are not the same lake. Lake Tahoe is up in the mountains in the pine trees….very pretty. Lake Meade is in the desert…not so pretty. It is the lake that formed behind Hoover dam when it was built on the Colorado River.
9:20 pm on July 14th, 2012
Siber – the Thin Man???? Noooooooooo!!!!
Bella – we were especially impressed with the Lone Ranger.
9:24 pm on July 14th, 2012
Rio, I made mention in this morning’s comment that Rutledge could hit the baseball.
Some of the Rockies young starting pitchers are starting to show some promise…sometimes.
9:25 pm on July 14th, 2012
T. Cruise and J. Depp…they’re everywhere.
9:27 pm on July 14th, 2012
We will return tomorrow.
Good night everyone.
9:30 pm on July 14th, 2012
Goobers!…The Rockies are losing to Philly by two right now…sniff!….Walk time is creeping up on us…grump!
9:40 pm on July 14th, 2012
Traveler!….Poor Rebecca, she has been traveling all day long, or waiting to travel…sniff!…I hope she makes it home soon, safely….wheeze!…I hope The Giant remembers to pick her up at the airport in Anchorage….grunt!
9:53 pm on July 14th, 2012
The Horror! The original Thin Man with William Powell, Myrna Loy, and Asta is a great, classic film and one that should NEVER be remade!
The prof and I watched In Cold Blood tonight. Good movie.
Night all.
10:30 pm on July 14th, 2012
yawn, I had a nice nap this afternoon and think I might go to bed early. Goodnight all.
10:39 pm on July 14th, 2012
goodnight to all.
We are going to bed to dream of the Topper movies about a young married couple and their dog that die in a car accident only they don’t know it. And they learn to come back to “brighten” the life of their banker.
Loved those movies. Sure hope they don’t remake those.
G’night all
10:45 pm on July 14th, 2012
Depp!…Is it just us who are fed up with Johnny or what?…grunt!…Is his make-over movies even doing well? I have no idea as I do not keep tabs on that guy…grunt!wheeze!…Just back from a long hot walk to find the Rockies are still losing…grumble!…Win TWO in a row, is that really two much to ask?…huffle!puffle!
10:57 pm on July 14th, 2012
We are fed up with both Depp and Cruise and all the remakes of movies because screenwriters no longer have an original thought in their skulls. The same goes for all the movies made from comic books. When will they ever run out of comic books? That time must be approaching.
Rio, Dark Shadows did not do well at the box office, and I think The Lone Ranger will be a really big flop.
We are going to sleep soon. The Rockies have lost this game.
night all
10:57 pm on July 14th, 2012
OMDawg!….A 3 run Home-Run puts the Rockies only one run down….WOOOOOO!WOOOOOOOO!…Holy crap it is the bottom of the 8th and this is getting exciting!…snort!
11:03 pm on July 14th, 2012
SiberH!….He can be such a pessimist sometimes….heh!heh!
11:20 pm on July 14th, 2012
Uh-Oh!…It is 8 ta 5 Phillies and SiberH is laughing in his sleep on his cool hard mat in front of the air-conditioner….grunt!…Its gonna be a nail-biting-couch-cushion-chewing ending I do believe…gasp!…Rockies are UP to Bat – they need 4 to winnit, 3 to tie!…gurgle!
11:28 pm on July 14th, 2012
Well….Crap!…grunt!
11:59 pm on July 14th, 2012
Rio: I take it that was bad news for those Rockies guys? I had bad news tonight, too. Although that makes it good news for Rose. Rats! Dad was even upset about the Angels losing to New York, because the Orioles are in the same division as the Yankees.
I’ve never been to Las Vegas, but Mom says when she was little, her family drove through Nevada, and Grandma decided to teach Mom and my uncles about the evils of gam-bling. They were in a restaurant with a little slot machine at each table, so Grandma got a dollar’s worth of nickles to show everybody how fast she would lose that dollar. Only she didn’t. She kept putting nickles in and winning money. Finally, she hit a losing streak and she lost all her money, but it took a lot longer than she wanted it to!
12:10 am on July 15th, 2012
Kirby!…We just finished watching The Birds…grunt!…I will never figure that movie out as long as i live by golly…sniff!…The ending never makes any sense to me at all.
Gamboling!…Here we can gamble if you drive up to Central City or Black Hawk…snort!…As a youngster my friend used to visit these historic mountain towns. But now they are like nothing like what she used to love to go see…sniff!…Beau and I are not allowed to go to these towns either…grumble!
12:16 am on July 15th, 2012
Goodnight!…Rebecca, I sure hope you are close to home by now. You’ve been away a very very long time and everyone needs you very badly…sniff!
12:17 am on July 15th, 2012
Rio: I’ve never seen The Birds.
I think I’d be too scared to see it.Maybe Mom can bring it home from the library some time.I think if you want to gamble around here, you have to go on one of those cruises that goes far enough off the coast to be legal. I don’t think I’m allowed to go on one of those! Wouldn’t matter — I don’t have any money anyway!
12:51 pm on July 15th, 2012
Tupper,
You mean you haven’t heard of the upcoming movie “Topper 3,” in glorious 3d? Starring Hugh Grant and Angelina Jolie? Sorry, just made that one up.

Some diseases affect your body’s ability to store or use potassium. For exampld, Crohn’s disease affects the body’s ability to absorb nutrients, causing you to have abnormally low levels of potassium. People with kidney disease or gastrointestinal illnesses may also experience potassium deficiencies. Additionally, people who take nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, or NSAIDs, may have to supplement potassium to prevent a deficiency, according to the University of Maryland Medical Center website…
