    Absolutely not!

    Good morning all.

I agree, my doggies do not wear costumes. I did buy some Christmas reindeer antlers last year that Maggie would not wear long enough for a picture. I may try Sassy this year. I bet she will be more cooperative.

That was an interesting point the author made about the reason dogs are uncomfortable with restrictive clothing.

Wolfie, How are Addie and her folks doing these days?

A Ken Bone Costume? Really?? Now THAT should be illegal.

Royals: Could that be a Frustrated Pug under that Mask?

The Pug looked like Groucho Marx to me. Who is Ken Bone?

Halloween … Bah humbug ! Too many intruders makes it hard for us to guard the front door.

The look of embarrassment or shame on most of the dressed-up dogs faces should be enough to discourage a caring friend from dressing up dogs.
Although…Tupper and Gilly, that face mask is hilarious!

    Ken Bone?

We dresses Scout up as a cheerleader when she was young. She was not amused.

If you watched the debates, Ken Bone is that cute little teddy bear of a guy wearing the red sweater and sporting glasses and a moustache. Costume shops are sold out of his costume for Halloween.

Unfortunately, Ken Bone is not really as sweet and innocent as he appeared. He asked a question about clean energy and what the candidates planed to do to help the environment. From that, one would assume he was concerned about keeping our environment clean. Meantime, he works for Prairie State Energy, in Lively Grove, IL, near St. Louis, Mo. Prairie State is a coal fired power plant and one of the dirtiest being operated in the US. They have tried to dodge compliance with the Clean Power Plan by the EPA.

BMALS, thank you. Since Monday’s flu shot, mom has been hiding under the quilt. We hope the “non-flu” goes away soon.

HOH, You seem to be sicker from your flu shot than I was with the flu. Probably not the same kind that you get vaccinated for, mine was just a 24 hour bug. Feeling close to tip top.

Staff, As our resident bird expert, did you see the picture I sent you for id. Kelly is feeling sick about the little guy flying into her window. Have never seen a bird like that around here.

Staff, Never mind, we figured it out – it was a Gold Crowned Kinglet, which unfortunately hit a window and died. We are feeling terrible about it!

The guy at the wild birds unlimited store here said that if you put something on the outside of the window it gives them a perspective. We had a Brownthrasher crash into our front window and die. Since I put tacky leave sticky things on the window we’ve had no repeat offenses .

We have a had a couple of Unfortunate Window Crashes here also. One died, one lived. Nana believed it to be a bad omen as that was the year that almost wasn’t. She has since made certain the screen is closed at all times, which seems to help. The Hounds have a Good Solution too.
BTW, Hound’s Mom Under the Quilt, That’s why Someone Here hasn’t gotten a Flu Shot since the early seventies, when she was sicker than a dog from it.

Like Barb said…Ken Bone is the Big Star of the last Debate.

BSD, since mom lost her spleen she has been told she needs to have inoculations and she has no immune system. She only has killed vaccines. Can’t imagine how sick she would be with a live vaccine.

  17. Tupper and Gilly
    4:21 pm on October 19th, 2016

BSD – just so you know, the flu shot given now is NOT the same kind that was given in the 70’s. That did indeed turn out to be a true disaster from many people. The current vaccines should not make anyone sick.
But everyone has a right to their opinion about vaccines.

Bird crashes – years ago, we had a piliated (sp??) woodpecker SLAM into the picture window here – both bird and window survived somehow. But what a loud WHUMP it made!

Kelly may put some stickers up. She has the grills on the windows that look like small panes, so general those windows are safer for birds. I have had a couple of thumps, but no casualties here.

I have put stained-glass seasonal ornaments on our bird-killer-picture window for years because of the kamikaze birds in our neighborhood. Right now we have autumn leaves, corn, scarecrows, witches, ghosts, and bats. Possibly not terribly classy, but effective.

Linda, if you are saving birds lives who cares if it’s tacky or not! Our mom will go for tacky window stickies anytime. Oh wait, she does have lots of tacky window stickies!

Addi has gone ten days without a medical crisis but continues to have complications, although not serious. She has gained almost 2 lbs since birth but is still on O2 and a feeding tube. She is still in the pediatric ICU. She is a love.
